Icychic's Weightloss Diary

Thanks everyone!

I am not beating myself up over the crappy food choices over the weekend, including the Edo I had for dinner yesterday and leftovers for lunch today.

Lucy: I will have to check out that site for sure! Thanks!

ijustwannabefit: no real equipment to be honest, I think I have 2lb and 5lb dumbbells at home. As for what I like, I really don't know anymore. Need to experiment and see I guess.

GreenSurf: Thanks! Had a busy day so no planning done today. Maybe tomorrow!

Mandy: Thanks. I definitely am not giving up. Some days are better than others for sure, I just have to put it behind me and keep moving forward every day hoping it is better than the last.

I really need to stop making plans for weekday evenings. Was hoping to finish my work earlier and get a workout in. But I haven't even had time to search for a good one and it's almost time to close shop. Need to go home to tend to the dog and then leaving right away to go shopping with a friend (wedding stuff for her I think). Not a great start to the week, but it's just the start and while I have little hope for today I may still do something later on. Perhaps as many reps and sets of crunches and pushups I can in my room later today. I'll get some walking in too with the shopping so that's better than nothing. Hopefully tomorrow goes smoother than today!

I hope tomorrow is better for you. And it reminds me of something from Anne of Green Gables...tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet. :seeya:

Following from Lucy's suggestion (And assuming you are into high-intensity), Bodyrock.tv (I know them as 'TheDailyHiit') have a lot of free, high intensity workouts on youtube.

This is their channel;

Alternatively, check out ZuzkaLight channel on youtube.

Here's is a list of her 'Zwows' (Zuska workout of the week);
She created a website for her new workouts, but all the Zwows from 1 to 70 are free and still available.

Also, This girl has a few workouts based on Tabata HIIT;
Haven't tried them myself (Can't do HIIT on my current shape), but they are only 8 minutes, so you don't really lose anything trying one.

Ermm... I'm sorry for spamming your diary with channels... I used to expend a lot of time looking for channels with suitable workouts... So I may as well share them...
:biggrinjester:

Good Luck. :)

Edit: Just one thing; If you decide to try any of those, be careful! Those can be pretty harsh on the body.

Icychic, you do so much exercise...I am ashamed to say I hardly do any. But as the weather gets better I will, you are very inspirational.
Ps like your posts to steve52....as he makes no sense at all.:willy_nilly:

Today has been OK. It's not quite 1PM and got lots still to do at work, and still haven't called anyone about wedding stuff. REALLY need to make time for that.

Athala: Thanks for the links! I will definitely take a look. I found the following on Fitness Blender:

(I think I would die with this one)

And a few others too, all under 15mins and at the low end 90+ calories burned.

mrs woods: I actually haven't been doing much exercise at all :( Nothing last week or yesterday. But hopefully that changes today :)
And thanks :) Starting to think I should really just ignore him, but I just can't stop myself! Even knowing it will go nowhere because we will never get a link or solid answers to any questions.

I was 142 this morning :( not happy. But what do I expect when I'm not working out right? Hoping to get under 140 by Saturday's weigh-in. Thought really if I can just get a workout in today, and everyday the rest of the week I will count that as success.

So I think shorter workouts are the way to go. I tried but sadly the jumping lunges didn't work cuz of my knees so I used that for rest. Quickly gave up on the burpees as well, switching for jumping jacks instead. I stopped fully 2 minutes before the end (of 10 reps they were down to the 4 each) because my feet were hurting too much. I REALLY need to work on getting new, GOOD runners. No money right now, perhaps will search on the weekend or next weekend since payday is next week and hopefully I will have a little extra cash I can allocate to that.

While it was only a 10ish min workout I still feel like I did good. Perhaps that is what I need to do, go hard as long as I can then take a break and start where I left off. But I think that means the HIIT type stuff is best for me. Go hard for short bursts (I played indoor soccer so I went hard and then by the time I sat for 1-2mins I was good to go again), short rest, then go again hard.

While it wasn't one of the ISC Challenge workouts I am posting it there and the other participants can yay or nay it. But sadly with how busy work has gotten, and how many times I will be planning evening wedding stuff, I think the short after work stuff is best so I can get it done and get out quickly. I have broken a sweat which is great! And I feel good that I did SOMETHING and I went as hard as I could before my feet started hurting. Need to find something that will be better on my knees though it seems, at least for a bit.

Yay You! HIIT workouts are really awesome for burning calories quickly. And since they fit your schedule, you will be more likely to do them. :)

Hey congrats on the workout.....I find that emailing people for the wedding stuff was the way to go....I was able to plan a May wedding starting mid march.....I am not suggesting you do that but donèt stress!

I did email one place, I think you are right though, need to get a general list of questions and email places that don't have all details on their website.

I didn't workout the last couple days, but hoping to do some upper body stuff today. See what I find online. My legs are still sore from Tuesday LOL. It's good they are sore, but the fact 2 days later they still are, and possibly a little worse, just shows how bad shape I'm actually in. Long ways to go!

I logged into my Fitocracy account and sadly found that Sept 2012 I was at 135 :( But that's OK, I will get there and further soon! Just gotta get off my butt and get moving more.

Really need to work harder/faster at work so I can lock-up 15-30mins early daily and do my workout. That way I still leave work at the right time. Also need to work harder/faster so I can take time during the day for wedding stuff or I will NEVER get this thing planned! Need a place/date/caterer so I can budget everything else and also get family to take time off, and the 2 of us to take time off and plan our honeymoon as well. Thinking maybe 1-1.5 weeks away then 0.5-1 week back home to relax and do thank-you cards and stuff.

:).....Wedding planning is stressful but as you start planning and start moving forward it gets better!!! Dress shopping is fun! Enjoy it the plan is to do this only once!!

Definitely better be the only time!

No workout yesterday not sure what will happen today. Wedding planning a sister's tonight, seeing a hall tomorrow, number crunching and hopefully some more calls today.

142 this morning. It just does not want to go down! Been trying to eat well but perhaps I need to work harder. Also really need to work out more. I want to get back to the 140 that I hit last week, but it just isn't happening! Hopefully this doesn't turn into a gain tomorrow from last week. I was at 141, but don't have high hopes for that :(

Hoping for a productive day today so I can do a workout before heading home after work. Got SO MUCH to do for work and personal stuff today, feeling a little overwhelmed and they day is just beginning. Going to take a deep breath, make some tea and toast, and take it one thing at a time.

Maybe you just ate a lot of salt. 2 pounds can just be your body taking on water. *nods* It could also be stress possibly. Just keep at it. Maybe try leaving one bite of each thing you eat on your plate. A lady I worked with in the past did that to help. So that way it is a few calories here and a few calories there that you didn't eat. :seeya: I hope things at work and the personal stuff calms down for you.

I haven't been adding salt, but you are right there is probably extra salt in my food. I'm betting the stress is not helping either. Still frustrating!

I have been trying to watch my portions but this week not as much.

Work I think is just going to get busier, which should be good for my bank account and wedding budget hopefully, but not good for the stress because it leaves less (or often NO) time for calling regarding the wedding. My plan to have a hall/date/caterer by the end of the month does not look good unless the 2 meetings tomorrow go REALLY well and are way below the cost of anything else and allow me to hire a professional photographer with how my budget currently is. That would mean hall, food, etc must cost less than $4000 for 80-120 ish ppl. Highly unlikely!! But I can dream :)

30 mins until day is over, and then I have dinner and wedding talk at my sisters tonight so I'm thinking no workout again tonight. Just too exhausted. Couple more work things to do, then perhaps another couple of phone calls before I leave.

Sounds like you’re really between a rock and a hard place with having to work so much while trying to plan a wedding. I know this is a HUGE deal and you definitely want to make sure that everything is perfect, but is there someone who can help you make phone calls, or maybe even cover one of your shifts for you (or at least part of a shift) so you can get some wedding stuff done? If stress is a food factor for you like it is for me, the less your stressed the better! Hopefully things will get easier for you.

Congrats on getting back to 141. :)

Sadly I'm the only person employed with my company in my city, so nobody can take my shift. And my bridesmaid are all working and my MOH (sister) is not working but is looking for a new job and has been helping at her hubby's work so she cant make calls either. I just have to start taking an hour a day at some point (or even just 10mins here and there like I did on Friday) and just make a couple calls. I NEED to have a date/place/caterer in 2 weeks. Seeing another hall next Saturday once the GM gets back to me with a time, and hopefully I can see some others during the week in the evening perhaps, or also on Saturday and just space them out enough.

MUST get my guest list more organized and add everyone I'm missing and delete those that we definitely don't want coming. Then we can see who else we can cut off because I know there are some friends that don't need to be invited. Also today need to get a menu together and email a caterer we met on Saturday so he can give us more accurate pricing, and I need to better organize by list of places with costs so I can easily compare them all.

Have my sis's lunch today for her bday, not sure what food will be there, but I have made a lime cheesecake (her request) and will try not to eat much of it. But not going to have time for a workout today.

Good luck with everything! I know that planning a wedding is stressful, especially when you have so many other things going on. But you will get it done! Everything will come together and you will have an amazing wedding day! And hey, even if a couple of things don't go exactly as planned, you will spend that day marrying the love of your life!! It will be perfect no matter what, because you two will be together!! :)

142 again today. BLAH!

br!na: Thanks! I think once the hall is booked, caterer booked, and date set I will be better. But I must do that within 2 weeks, that's the promise I made to my future father in law because he needs to submit his holidays before December and the sooner the better. But yes, basically on the day of I will have done all I can and I plan to enjoy the day and let things happen and not stress. That is our day and I don't want to spend it stressing out, so I will do my stressing and freaking out beforehand :) Hoping it works!!

Set the meeting for the other hall that I wanted to see this past weekend for Saturday now, and I hope to find a couple others too and see them as well. Will be lots of running around but I'm OK with that!

Dropped the ball long ago and still haven't picked it back up...REALLY need to get back to working out :(

142 again today. Didn't exercise yesterday (wore my boots due to snow and didn't have my runners, and also just didn't want to). Ate too much pasta last night. Oh yeah, and a can of coke. I could have resisted, but I didn't even try because I just didn't want to try to resist, I wanted it so I drank it. But I got a few wedding things done yesterday which is good. 2 meetings on Saturday to see places, and hoping for 1 more to call me back and 1 to email me so it might end up at 4 places to see LOL. Perhaps I will have a date/location picked? *crosses fingers and knocks on wood*

No idea what to make for dinner today but I need to get milk so perhaps I'll buy some meat and whatever else to make a quick dinner. Got my Crock-pot that I ordered online from Wal-Mart yesterday so that is exciting! (I ordered online cuz even though the site SAID it was in store, I tried 3 times and it was never there). So now I need to find some awesome slow cooker recipes :) - chicken or beef (no pork). Took out some chicken breast this morning (in the fridge so won't defrost by tonight) and need to find a recipe I can make tomorrow morning for dinner tomorrow night. YAY.

I hope work is semi-slow again today but I doubt it. There's a bunch of things I need to do that I didn't yesterday. Must catch up! But hopefully I will do a workout today. Need to try doing it around lunch time perhaps rather than after work...but it never works because I never take/eat lunch at lunchtime.

Checked with my friend and she confirmed she believes it will be around March when we go bridesmaid dress shopping for her wedding, so need to be SURE I'm in the proper shape I want to be by then. But I still have my end of the year weight goal (I know it's super far-fetched now but still 3lbs/wk is doable isn't it?) In reality though, if I'm in the 120s I'd probably be OK and that's close to 1.5lbs/wk which is much more reasonable.

I know it's my own fault, but it's really frustrating that the scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks! At least not on my official Saturday weigh in days...
