HOT for my Honeymoon!!

Hi Lisa

I am glad you are feeling better then yesterday!!! When I was breastfeeding I had issues with the bathroom breaks as well and I was given milk of magnisia or magnisium...it's a tiny capsul and it will help restore regular bathroom breaks gently with in 24 hours....I beleive that could really be the reason for your lack of energy! I would check into your vitamine B as well as Iron.

I love how you are thinking past your honeymoon trip to what will happen after as far as your weight loss. You aren't letting it just be something you do till you leave for your trip and have planned for afterwards to continue your new healthy lifestyle. Good for you!

And even more, I love how you said today was a maintenance day. You didn't say it was a crappy day or a total loss because you screwed up and didn't exercise or you ate too much or what ever. I like the idea of thinking of those days as just maintenance days where we know we probably won't lose, but we also aren't going to gain 10 lbs overnight either. I think I have to start thinking in those terms instead of beating myself up every time I have a little slip.

Hope you have a great day and that your bran buds kick in soon! It always amazes me how crappy we can feel when the plumbing is backed up!

But we know all the tricks in getting it back off and this is why we work hard... so we can enjoy ourselves and feel good!
That is so true! Exactly what I'm working towards! I hope the all bran buds work as good for you as they do me!

The crazy thing was I did take a capsule (that my mom gave me to help relieve this kind of thing - not sure what it's called) and it still didn't work! This is probably TMI but all I could get out was little rabbit poos. I'm sure that's what was causing the lack of energy - it even started to hurt my lower back.

I've been going at this far to long to give up anytime soon! I hope to continue the lifestyle for life and pass it on to my kids on day. The cruise is just extra motivation!

I didn't always think this way but lately I have realized to not beat myself up so much - one day isn't going to change me or my efforts. Now two or three days of maintanence and it's a different story!

OK so I finally felt some relief and feel 100% better today! My gf ditched out again on pedal and pump so I went to the gym and just wanted to get a good run in. I was at 5.2 miles and I got a huge cramp in my side - my plumbing was started to work again and it came at the worst timing! So I finished up the run but I still wanted to get some cardio in so I went to the stairmaster and did 15 min on that - boy my calf's are feeling it today! Finished with a stretch - 80 min in the gym and 798 cals burned.

Here's how the eating looked:
B - 1 cup fresh strawberries, 1 ff activia yogurt, 1/3 cup all bran buds, peppermint tea
L - healthy choice chicken marina frozen dinner with broccoli
D - lettuce, tomato, little bit shredded marble cheese, green onion, salsa, two hard taco shells crumbled up & 3/4 cup lean ground turkey with reduced salt taco seasoning.
Exercise - 55 min treadmill 5.2 miles, 15 min stepper - 1.2 miles, stretch - 798 cal burned.
Snack - pear, 1 slice marble cheese, peppermint tea

When I got home from the gym my stomach was still really sore and bloated so that helped with the snacking.

I was 147.8 on the scale this morning so up a little from last Friday but hopefully I will still be down a little at my weigh-in. I'm only working till noon today so unless I get to run out before then I might not get to update what the results were till Monday.

We are having hubby's family over for dinner tonight so I'm going home at noon to clean my house. I managed to get up and do the treadmill this morning. Just walking at 4.1 and incline at 5 - 35 min. Burned 280 calories. It's crazy to think I would have to do that 12 times to lose 1 pound. It doesn't seem fair.

Not much planned for the weekend although I plan to make it much healthier than last weekend and I plan to exercise every day too.

I found out some pretty exciting news yesterday - my boss called me and said we are going to have a trial period from May to September where I work Mon-Thur 7-5 instead of Mon-Fri 8-4, she picked to work Tues - Fri so I get Friday's off all summer!! I was so pumped yesterday everyone kept asking why the huge smile on my face. I wish the new schedule started today! I use to have to start at 6:30 so I don't think 7 will be so bad. I won't be getting up early to exercise though. The other good thing is most of the classes at my gym start at 5:30 so right now it's not really convenient for me to attend. I have a lot to look forward to in the next little while - it's really helping me stay motivated!

Ok this is a long one but one more thing. Around Christmas hubby reached 202 on the scale. He was probably around 180 when I met him but when he quit smoking he started gaining weight and just this morning he yelled up to me that the scale said 188.6 - he was so pumped! I love it that he's changing his lifestyle too!!

:hurray:

YAY on the loss!!!

I'd love to have the flexible work schedule that you'll be trying this summer. Right now we can work 4 9 hour days and 1 4 hour day, but that's as much as they'll let us take off. We've been asking to have 4 10 hour days and a 3 day weekend, but so far the powers that be haven't gone for it. They think everyone will want to be gone on Fridays. I don't know what the difference is between everyone wanting to be gone Friday afternoon versus the whole day though? We work together to make sure we have coverage for our customers 7 to 5, 5 days a week and it hasn't been an issue so far with people taking half days off during the week.

Oh well, maybe someday. At least we have casual friday EVERY friday instead of just once a month now!

That is awesome!! Double good news!! I have a flex schedule now with Fridays off and I don't think I can ever go back lol.. Whenever I find a new job or get set in my career I think it will be a requirement.. maybe I am dreaming :) Also, great news for your hubby losing weight!! I bet you are so proud of him! My boyfriend has the opposite problem and has been trying to put on muscle and weight and he is also doing well! So proud of those boys :)

Congrats on the loss! You're getting closer and closer to your goal - keep up the good work! And that is AWESOME news to hear about work.. and your husband! :D :D Hopefully your weekend wasn't a write off... you're not here today so I'm a little worried but I know you'll be back tomorrow and coming back strong! :) Happy Valentine's Day by the way! Talk to you soon :waving:

I'll be lucky if I maintained this weekend. My three weeks of no booze ended Friday night and then continued into Saturday night! Also hubby bought me all kinds of chocolate for V-day and I asked him if I could have it early so I could start fresh again Monday so Friday, Saturday and Sunday night we enjoyed chocolate! Too much good stuff.
The weekend wasn't a complete write off. Friday I worked out in the morning and then cleaned the house for 3 hours straight. I also walked another mile just before the dinner guests arrived. Saturday I had an awesome workout. I had decided I was going to put my HRM on and workout till I burnt 1000 calories. Here's how the workout turned out:
1 mile treamill
level 1 & level 2 30 day shred dvd
1 mile run treadmill
100 KB swings
.5 mile run treadmill
100 KB swings
.8 mile run treadmill
100 KB swings
45 chair dips
100 jumping jacks
30 sit-ups
30 push ups with the exercise call
stretch
It took 2 hours and exactly 1015 calories burned!

Sunday I was sore as hell and decided to take a rest day.

I had the day off yesterday but because I had such a horrible weekend eating wise I decided to make yesterday right.
As soon as I got up (around noon) I did level 1 & level 2 of 30 day shred again. Burnt 375 calories doing that. Went to get groceries in town with hubby and had a small salad before we went. When I got home I decided to do another variation of my Saturday workout: 1 mile run, 100 KB swings and repeat till 3.2 miles down and 300 KW swings. I also did the 45 chair dips and a long stretch - burnt 500 calories.
Since I didn't get anything for hubby I let him pick dinner so we had sweet potato fries and chicken fingers. It was pretty tasty. No dessert and just a couple flax seed crackers before bed.
I don't do well over holidays - even silly hallmark ones. I'm back to working hard though! I hope to do level 1 & level 2 of 30 shred everyday this week!

Wow you had a very active weekend!!!! Don't beat yourself up over the treats you had.....you still workout a lot so I think it will balance things out, it you go back to your good routine this week!!! You can so do it Lisa!!!! When are you leaving for your trip?

Nice at-home work outs! Wow... impressive :D Also I am jealous that you can do level 2 of the 30 day shred... to be honest, I haven't even tried it yet because I think level 1 is hard enough! I really need to try it sometime. Glad you used your day off to recuperate from the weekend. I think it's going to be a great week!

Hello buttercup!! :D! Great chocolate filled weekend!! ;) Love it!! I have been noticing my chocolate cravings diminish like CRAZY lately, by just ALWAYS having chocolate in the freezer. It's almost like because I know it's there..waiting.. that I don't need to have it. It's weird. I actually started doing that when I read it in a book called,..When Food is Love, by Geneen Roth. Great book!!! You should read it!! That's what she did though. She filled her freezer with tons of chocolate. When you have overabundance of it now, takes the feeling of lack away.:D! Mind you though, it took me a couple times of filling it before that actually happened!! LOL!! ;) ...finally though...:D!

Great workout too!! ;) ...I'm feeling sick and really out of it right now.. :(

If only I could burn 3500 calories as fast as I could eat it! All this working out just has me eating more. We leave on March 13th!!! 25 more sleeps!!

You could totally do level 2 Sarah!! The first time I did it I wasn't sure I would be able to finish it but the 20 minutes goes by so quick and if I can't do the full move I just follow the less intense girl. Level 1 is actually almost too easy now. I'm loving my at home workouts lately.

I would never be able to do that! I can't have anything bad in my house or else I just think about it till it's gone. Even if it's in the freezer - I will naw at it frozen! You have good discipline Alta! That sucks you aren't feeling well - maybe you need a day off! You have been pushing pretty hard lately - take it easy and get lots of water friend!!

Ok so yesterday was a bust. I don't think I'll be going to my weigh-in this week. I know I should just go and "face the music" but if I'm back in the 150's it might discourage me even more.
I had to really fight off my cravings yesterday and did really well till after dinner time. I even did Level 1 and Level 2 30 day shred again plus 2 miles on the treadmill and burnt 600 calories. Then we got a call from hubby's sister and find out we are going to be having a new roommate. She found out her husband is cheating on her and needs a place to stay. Of course we offered her the spare room. So we got into some wine and then soon enough the snacks came out - crackers & salsa, cheese, yogurt, waffles - you name it - we ate it.
So I woke up feeling crappy so what do I do...go through a drive through and get a large sugary cappuchino and bagel - except they forgot to give me the cream cheese and loaded it with butter instead - so I ate it and didn't even enjoy it. I really enjoyed the coffee though but it wasn't worth the 300 calories.
Tomorrow night I have to go to an employee's appreciation dinner so there is no way I'm going to want to weigh-in Friday morning. I just have to keep my workouts up and hope next week is better. I really need to get my eating on track again. I noticed I haven't been writing down my meals in my notebook and that's probably why I'm so off track - I need to be tracking again!

Ugh. It is a struggle :( Too bad exercising doesn't outweigh our eating habits! I wish it was 20% diet 80% exercise! But it's the other way around and that's the unfortunate reality of things. Pick it back up today... life happens, but don't let it get in the way of things that you want for yourself! You're much stronger than that and you know it.

Take care Lisa!

Sounds like your week is turning out like mine. Too many things going on in life and they are getting in the way of our new healthy lifestyle!

We'll get back on track soon though - we've come too far to let life get that much control over the changes we've made, right? RIGHT!!!

That would be so cool! I would be so much better at this!
Tig - your absolutely RIGHT!!

My boss is up today so I have to make this quick. Yesterday sucked. It was the first nice day where the temperatures were above 0 so the snow was melting like crazy and when I got home from work I found a huge flood in our kitchen. After some investigating we found out the problem was due to some ice build up on the roof and it was starting to melt near an air vent and the water got under the shingles and caused the huge mess. By the time we got a ladder and got the ice chipped away it was 8pm and we were starting dinner. My meals weren’t horrible but they weren’t great either and no workout for me. I really wanted to keep up the 30 day shred dvd but by the time my dinner settled I was ready for bed.

Tonight I have an employee appreciation dinner but I’m going to the gym straight from work and then straight to the dinner. No excuses and no opportunities to deviate from the plan. I have my salad packed for lunch and I need to keep the water flowing today! No weigh in this week but no excuse to give up either. Next week I’m just going to have to push harder and hope that the drama is over.

Sorry if I won’t get a chance to come by your journal the next couple days but my boss is always lurking over my shoulder when she’s in town. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I will get to catch up with you all!! Stay healthy!

Awww sorry to hear that about your kitchen! That must have been super frustrating! It's so good that you are married and have a man to help you!! Imagine without one...

One time my toilet in the the bathroom flooded and it was starting to leap into the living room and I was having a COW:cuss:!!! I didn't know what to do!! I almost felt like plugging my round ass in the hole and letting the water squirt up my butt!! hahah. Sounds funny now, but the thought really came across my mind :blush5:...Butttttt...thank God, I didn't have to go that route and a little prayer stopped the water!!! ;) Or else.... IMAGINE! :D!!! Women, I tell you.

Glad you guys got it squared out!!! Glad things are changing for you at work!! Just so you know, I smashed 3.6 pounds this week!! ;)! :cheers2:!! It was a sticking number 2 days in a row, so I'll take it!! I can't wait to be where you are!!! It's ok that you didn't get a chance to really do anything. Sometimes that shocks us into more loss. It gives our body a chance to catch up with all our hard work. Also, Congrats to the hubby for jumping on the health train!!!:) Have a great day, doll!!

Aren't those ice jams the pits? We've had problems with that this year too. It came in the attic, ran along some boards, then down the wiring and came thru the light fixture in our living room - right on top of my beautiful victorian coffee table! :cuss: What a mess!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Lisa! Man you sound busy plus! Well done on the working out between work and everything else - you're an organised woman!

That's awesome your hubby has been healthy - and well done to him for giving up the smoking too. Not an easy thing to do...
