LOL! Oh yeah I forgot to comment on that. I was a little confused when I read it but then I just thought you meant to say do my hair for the cruise or something so I didn't think about it much more after that! Don't feel dumb - I've said way more dumb things!

:smilielol5: ..laughing at Sarah and your comment back! LOL! Cute!

...Gooooood Job woman!!! Keep Pushing!!! 140's ticker is INSANE!!!!
...I'm so glad that you are 10 lbs down since WW!! This morning I was 167.6, down from 169.4 yesterday!!!! It's so insane how you are 20lbs smaller than me now! That shit is DRIVING ME so hard right now in addition to many other things too!! Mainly because it just shows me once again, that the power of the DAILY SLIGHT EDGE difference can mean a HUGE difference spread out throughout time. We were once neck in neck, and now, I SEE the huge slight edge difference of your daily efforts create a HUGE RIFT between those that choose not do to or do sporatically throughout time. IT'S INSANE!!!

:cheers2: Thank you! Thank you for being that WONDERFUL example of that for me! Actually, every single person on here that has made it to where I want to be, has done the SAME THING. Daily. No fucking around. Just DOING IT! Wheeeeeeeew! That's EMPOWERING! :jump:!!!

...to just think, you can have anything in life if you just work at it daily. Small amounts. Consistent and persistent. Sarah, is also another one of those GREAT example kind of people of the power of disciplined consistency! It doesn't surprise me that you two were magnetically drawn to each other on here because you two are 2 peas in a pot of the UNDERSTANDING OF DICIPLINED CONSISTENCY!!!! :beating:

...believe me, I am tossing my peas, one by one, over from my pot to YOUR POT!! :D!!! So watch out!!! YOU LADY PEAS ARE GONNA HAVE TO MOVE OVER!!! CAUSE THIS PEA IS MOVING IN!!!! ;) :D!! hahah! Have a great weekend!! -The hubby's cooking sounds GOOD! :drool5:!!!

....oh, and are they called Kettle bells? LOL!!! Who knew!! They are bells, though!! I just called them that and I never paid attention to if he called em bells or balls. Either way, they are a BITCH! :smilielol5:!!!

Congratulations Lisa!!!
That's fantastic news!!! Hope your cold goes away ASAP!

Hey the photos are great - you are absolutely beautiful Lisa, you have perfect skin too :) Seriously, you're already hot for the honeymoon! You look so happy too.

Best of luck with the haircut, can't wait to see the photos. I know what it's like to feel like a change. I am just growing mine back from a short cut.

So happy for you being in the 140's, hope next week is just as great for you xx

Well Janvier called it... I used feeling unwell as an excuse for treats this weekend. It all went downhill Friday night:banghead: After dinner hubby went to the store and got all kinds of treats - chocolate milk, Reece peanut butter cups and chips & dip.
Saturday I woke up so sick and called my hair dresser and asked her if she would rather me cancel or go there coughing and sneezing and she didn't want me to cancel so I went and it sucked. I just didn't feel like sitting there and when she asked me what to do I said cut some off but leave most of the length - well it's shorter than I hoped and I don't like it. She didn't really add any layers or didn't cut my bangs short enough but I just wanted out of there so I didn't say anything at the time and just went home and sulked. We ended up ordering Chinese for dinner.:banghead:
Sunday I woke up and I was feeling a little better so I hoped on the treadmill right away and ran 6.6 miles in 65 minutes. It felt good since I hadn't exercised since Thursday. Hubby woke up and we went to town and got groceries. The day was going good until I got invited to the super bowl party again and they told me they were playing poker so I decided to go since I love poker. I snacked on so many bad things - deep fried shit and dips galore. So much chocolate too - I was so dissapointed in myself going to bed last night. :banghead: The only thing that could have made the weekend wose was alcohol - fortunately I didn't even have one sip!
Nothing to do but make today right and keep it going the rest of the week! I have my gym bag packed but honestly my motivation is really low right now. My belly is just aching and hates me so much.:smash:
Time to move on...:driving:

:( I am sad that your hair appointment didn't go so well. You should really go back in and say you would like more texture! How much do you think she cut off? It is ok, it will grow back! Good job avoiding the booze this weekend. It's hard not to indulge on Super Bowl Sunday... I don't even want to think about how many cookies I ate last night! Ugh! But you're right, just gotta move on. I hope the motivation goes up for you again. I'm sure tomorrow you will come back feeling a lot better! We just need to work harder this week to make up for the weekend... cheer up :seeya:

Sorry about the hair. :( That's a bummer. I'm sure in a few days or weeks it will be more fitting! :) What does the hubby think about it?

No worries about the weekend. It was superbowl! There is no making it out healthy. LOL!! At least you went for a run! :) That's the best! Good job on steering clear of the alcohol! That was KUDOS!!!

Hi Lisa,

We had similar weekends of snacking on bad things, hopefully you turned it around yesterday. I'm sorry to hear that you aren't happy with your hair, I always feel that way after a hair cut, maybe it'll grow on you once you play with it a little and once you aren't feeling sick. It'll grow back though, don't worry, I'm sure it looks great. I found the ff tomato oregno dressing this weekend!! I brought it to work today to try it. I hope you're having a better day today, I'm counting on the biggest loser to get my motivation back tonight, hopefully it does the same for you as well.

I think she took about 5-6 inches off. It was getting pretty dead anyway so I'm starting to not hate it as much. I just wish she added more layers but it was probably my fault for not speaking up and just assuming she could read my mind that day.
I was going to have a beer Sunday when one was offered to me but I thought about it and didn't want those extra calories - why didn't I rationalize the food the same way?? I guess I love food more than booze!
What you said about working harder this week to make up for it really hit home yesterday and that is exactly what I am going to do!! I already have a plan of action!!

Sorry about the hair. What does the hubby think about it?
He actually really likes it so that was encouraging. My best friend just got all her hair chopped off in a cute bob and it really makes me wish I would have gone that route - one day.
No worries about the weekend. It was superbowl! There is no making it out healthy. LOL!! At least you went for a run! :) That's the best! Good job on steering clear of the alcohol! That was KUDOS!!!
I had great intentions to have a healthy day and avoid all the superbowl hype but as soon as they mentioned a poker game I couldn't resist. Unfortunately I didn't win!

Hi Lisa,
We had similar weekends of snacking on bad things, hopefully you turned it around yesterday.
I had a decent start to turning it around - today will get me on the right path again!
I found the ff tomato oregno dressing this weekend!! I brought it to work today to try it. I hope you're having a better day today, I'm counting on the biggest loser to get my motivation back tonight, hopefully it does the same for you as well.
Awesome! I hope you like it as much as I do! The BL should do the trick for sure! Have a good one!!

Ok so yesterday didn't start out great and it didn't end great but there was so greatness inbetween! Here's how it looked:

B - lg vanilla cappuchino - bad start
L - lg beef noodle bowl - boss bought lunch today and I didn't have will power to say no!
Exercise - didn't feel like going to kettle bell so I went home and did the treadmill instead. 60 min treadmill - intervals, 4.5 miles & 560 cal burned.
D - 5 oz pickerel, corn niblets, orange pepper, celery & onion all cooked together.
Exercise - push-ups, squats, sit-ups, leg lifts, jumping jacks, running on the spot, kettle bells swings - I did my own little interval workout for 30 min and burned another 250 calories using my HRM.
Snacks - orange, carrot sticks, ff activia yogurt, bowl whole wheat cheerios w strawberries & 1/3 banana w skim milk - too many snacks!!

So my snacks were obviously out of control but at least they were healthy. Luckily I don't have any bad food in my house or else I probably would have ate it.

I took this morning off work because I went to bed really late and wanted to get up and use the treadmill before work but obviously didn't so I took advantage of the morning off and slept in a little and still got up and did the treadmill before coming in! Today is on the right track!! I ran 2 miles and burned 250 calories and plan to still go to yoga and kettle bell tonight! It's going to be a great day to get me focused and on track again!!

Hi there! I just read thru your whole diary (it took me a while) and I just had to tell you how inspirational you are to me. You just keep going and going and going. Even if you have a bad day, you just get right back up again and hit it harder the next day! You are amazing!

Sorry you aren't liking your new hair cut. I thought your long hair looked georgeous before, but I'm kind of partial I think. Every single time I talk myself into getting a hair cut I regret it. I don't know if I go into it expecting some sort of miracle every time or what? But I get home and just cry with disappointment. I don't think I'm expressing myself well enough. Or MAYBE it's just that they didn't read my mind correctly! Dang it - they would be able to do that, shouldn't they? :sifone:

Hope your cold is gone soon. Take care!

Wow thanks Tig!!! If you get a chance to go back to my very first diary the first post explains a lot about where I've come from in the weight loss world. It's a never ending journey for me so I have to keep going and going! I swear it was Alta who said "you can't fail if you never give up" and that's just what I do - I never give up! Those words really hit home and now I live by them! I've been reading your journal too and I should post more!! Thanks again for stopping by!

Ok so yesterday didn’t really go as planned but it ended up being a great day. It was bloody cold out after work and when I got home I got a phone call from my gf bailing on yoga and then hubby’s friend called and bailed on Kettle Bell and I just wasn’t feeling going out in the cold again so I decided to do a workout at home instead. I think I pushed myself just as hard as I would have at the gym and burned around the same amount of calories so I’m not sure why I’m feeling guilty about not going.

Here’s how yesterday looked:
Exercise – 2.1 mile run, 22 min - 250 cal burned
B – apple
L – 1 can tuna drained, lettuce, red pepper, cucumber, cherry tomato, green onion, carrot, black olives & ff dressing
D – 1 can Campbell’s chicken & wild rice soup
Exercise – 100 jumping jacks, 1.1 mile on treadmill (intervals), 300 kettle bell swings – 10 different exercises x 30 reps, 60 BOSU squats – 38 min & 330 cal burned.
Snack – pear
Exercise – 1 mile on treadmill (intervals), 110 KB swings, 30 BOSU squats, 30 chair dips, 30 sit-ups – 30 min & 215 cal burned.
Snack – 3 cups shredded cabbage w light coleslaw dressing, pickle, 4 thin slices cheddar cheese & 2 stone wheat crackers.

I packed my gym bag to go straight from work today but I’m really enjoying using my treadmill at home lately. I think the cold weather has me not wanting to go out either. Only 32 more sleeps till I get to sit in the sun!!!

Hi Lisa,

Don't feel guilty at all about skipping the gym, you did a killer workout at home! You actually had a pretty perfect day yesterday :hurray:!! I know exactly how you feel about the cold weather making you not wanting to go out, I feel the same exact way! It's depressing weather so the fact that you stayed home but decided not to just lay around the house watching tv and snacking is amazing. You're doing great, you turned your week around early and I think if you keep working this hard and eating this well for the rest of the week you are going to see good numbers on the scale this week. Keep working hard!! :waving:

Great work Lisa! 3 times throughout the day getting exercise - that's dedication! Using your motivation today... thank you cuz I needed it!!! Have a good one! :waving:

Thanks Janvier - I'm already talking myself out of going to the gym after work and might just do a workout at home again. It would be too easy to just go home and lie around all night - hubby would never let that happen, lol! I really wanted to snack more last night but just had to go to bed instead!

Glad I could motivate you Sarah because I'm having a hard time motivating myself! The only reason I ran the 2 miles in the morning was because I didn't have to be at work till noon! I tried to get up today to do it again but 6am was just too early, lol!

My cold has gone away but I still don't have any energy. I had eggs for breakfast and one hour later I felt starving again. I waited for lunch and had my usual salad with tuna and now I'm starving again. I didn't bring any snacks because I thought I had an apple in the fridge but it looks like someone else ate it.
I have been wearing my HRM today and sometimes when I look down it's in the 60's which is pretty normal but there were a couple times I looked down and it was in the 40's! I don't know how my heart rate relates to my energy but I just feel so weak today. I really hope I'm not getting the flu or something.
Another thing that I have been thinking about lately is how much sleep I get. I get a lot of sleep. Most nights I get anywhere from 7-9 hours - usually 8 right on the button and weekends I get up to 12 hours some nights! I could just sleep and sleep - whenever, where ever! And I always feel tired. Probably some things I should be discussing with my doctor.

Great job on all those kettle bell swings!! :cheers2: You are doing SO AMAZING!!!

I'm really impressed. And it touches me that the one line I said, hit home to you!! If I did anything in my life right...I'm glad it's one that impacted YOU!! :D!

...And as far as your energy. That sucks! I can tell you this much though, that up until 6 weeks ago,...I was in your SAME boat!! I could literally SLEEP AND SLEEP,.. The weekends were the same for me too!! What changed it all for me, was eating more, and incorporating a bread slice morning, and afternoon, sometimes, even night as well.

I read an article (which I scanned and tried to attach right now, and it said it was too large) :( that talked about carb combinations and how to consume them in a manner that will not affect your blood sugar level and will actually increase the energy. I've been doing it for about 1 1/2-2 weeks, and I feel the DIFFERENCE!!! It's amazing!!!! I really wish that I could break it down to you..but this limit on this site isn't that great! :/

All in all, I think for the amounts of workouts that you are getting in, that you are depleting your body from the necessary energy it needs to perform at such high levels. I mean, in one hour of of kettle balls, you should be consuming way more food. (According to my weight watchers points system-you can easily get 12 activity points there) -we have to fuel the activity points with something. Food and carbs are necessary, I'm starting to realize.
I'm actually seeing what happens this week, as I've been NOT eating my activity points and see if it still propels me into the weight loss zone. Regardless of whether it does or not, my ENERGY is through the ROOF! :D! It's almost like I was dead before! That's how different I feel. Brown medley rice, 1 slice or two of whole wheat bread a day. One per serving. And the difference is IMMENSE!! I see myself shrinking like crazy too, and considering I've always been shy when it comes to carbs it's perplexing that doing the opposite of what I have always done is WORKING & FAST! :D!

They do talk about combining the fast carb bread with a slowing one, like veggies. I also make sure now on each plate there is fruit, and another slowing one they talked about was protein. So I try to have them all with each meal. So far, so good on energy.

Maybe there's something in the air - I've been really tired lately too.

The article Alta mentioned sound like something my mom used to follow - low glycemic diet where you ate your carbs with a little fat and protien. Like a small baked potato with the butter and cheese and sour cream on it because the protein and fat slowed down absorbtion of the carbs from the potato so that your energy lasted longer and you didn't get spikes in your blood sugar levels. If you keep your blood sugar level throughout the day, you can actually eat a little more without putting on weight because your body has to work harder at digesting food, AND the food you do eat stays with you longer to fuel your body. She lost 35 lbs doing that - but then she quit and went back to eating like she used to (cookies, cake, donuts, pasta, HUGE servings, etc) and gained it all back and then some.

Something else to keep in mind is your iron levels. Do you take a multi-vitamin with iron in them? I have always had problems with low iron and can tell if I skip a few days taking my vitamins I start feeling tired again. And if you plan to have kids in the near future you'll need good stores of iron to build a nice healthy baby!

Wether you work out at the gym or at home today, I hope it goes well for you!

Alta - very interesting theory and I think I need to look into it more. I don't know a lot about carbs and balancing sugar levels so maybe I should do more research. I did have toast with the eggs for breakfast so I'm not sure that is the case this time but it does make sense.
Tig - I take a women's daily vitamin and it has 10mg of iron in it, do you think that's enough? Also I eat a lot of tuna isn't there lots of iron in it? Another good theory though. Unfortunately I didn't get a workout in last night.

So yesterday was a maintenance day for me. No exercise and snacking was a little high. I went to bed pretty early and I'm feeling a bit better today. My theory on my lack of energy the last couple days is due to the fact that I haven't had a good washroom break in a while. I think it may have something to do with switching up my breakfasts and not getting enough fiber in my diet. I'm going back to all bran buds and ff activia yogurt for breakfast and hope in the next day or two it does the trick. I think I get enough protein in at lunch and dinner that I don't need to worry about it so much at breakfast. The all bran buds keep me full till lunch and I've never had a problem eating this before.
I went to bed early and yet I still couldn't get up and do the treadmill this morning. I'm hoping once the sun starts coming up earlier it will get easier again. I can't wait till it's warm enough to go for a 5km run outside in the morning - that was so amazing when I did that.
Tonight I'm going to pedal and pump with my gf. I'm taking a week off kettle bell class and I'll get back to it next week. I just need to switch things up every now and then. I'm also hoping to get at least 2 miles in on my treadmill at home. The scale is still sitting at 150 so i'm hoping a miracle happens between today and tomorrow for my weigh-in. I'm ok with having a week of no loss and staying the same since I know why it wasn't a good week. Next week will be better!! I blame a lot of this week on the cold I got and not having the energy. I know my focus will be back - the trip is coming up so quick and I really want to drop 5 more pounds!
I was looking on our cruise ship web page yesterday and it started to get me really excited again. I know I'm going to gain at least 5 - probably 10 pounds on this trip but I really think it will be worth it and a once in a lifetime experience. They offer 24/7 complimentary room service and will bring things like chocolate chip cookies and milk or a hot dog or burger or even lasagna at any time of the day! The restaurants and buffets look so amazing and all the reviews said it's the best place to get pizza! Plus I know the drinks will be flowing! I told hubby we need to have sex at least 3 times a day to burn some of the calories off! I was also looking into the fitness facility. I'm sure some days I will make good choices and some days I won't! I'll have to get ready to work hard again when I get back! It will all be worth it though!!

Hey girl... I think your weigh in will go just fine tomorrow but if not, next week it will go good because I see that even though you are struggling more this week than last, you still are giving good effort and not beating yourself up over anything. I bought all bran buds yesterday but I forgot to buy yogurt for them! Darn. I have also been having problems this week with not being able to go to the bathroom... so if these all bran buds do the trick I am going to be one happy camper! lol I too CANNOT wait to be able to run outside when the weather gets warmer. I want to run outside so much but there is snow and ice everywhere or the wind chill is like -15 degrees! At least you'll get a glimpse of summer on your cruise! :D Gosh I remember how awesome it was just having a buffet of food right there for you every day.. I would always walk in and grab rolls of bread! Vacation always brings about weight gain... trust me I am not looking forward to going through that again this spring break! But we know all the tricks in getting it back off and this is why we work hard... so we can enjoy ourselves and feel good!
