My hubby is also getting tired of my food restrictions ... he finds it hard to make meals for the whole familly cause what I eat the kids don't enjoy I replaced fatty ingredient with spice and the kids don't like those yiet....but he is still trying ti be supportive!

Hey, so these bran buds you eat... How do they taste? I've started being a little wary about cereals and I know the bran stuff is pretty much on top of the nutritional list... But every time I look at the box at the store I get so disinterested!!!
I like them but I only eat them with yogurt & berries or fruit - they would be pretty plain on their own. For 1/3 of a cup there are 12 grams of fiber so it's really filling. They sell them in little individual packages too for convenience if you don't want to be measuring out 1/3 of a cup each time.

Well at least they are trying right! My hubby is fine with eating the healthier dinner but then he just makes Kraft dinner or something bad later so he ends up eating two dinners.

D – small wheat tortilla (90) w homemade left over spaghetti sauce (120), ff cheese slice (30), green olives (30) Total 270
Dessert – lg banana 130
Went shopping with hubby and he picked up another Reece bar.
Snack#1 – 1 Reece PB cup 90
Got home and was still pretty hungry.
Snack #2 – veggie salad – lettuce (30), tomato (30), cucumber (20), ¼ cup chick peas (85), poppy seed & onion dressing (110), pickle (10) Total 285
Total Cals 1205

I turned down hot chocolate at Tim’s and watched my hubby eat a chocolate donut – right before the Reece bar so I couldn’t turn that completely down too – plus 90 calories for 1 cup is so worth it!!
Hubby has been complaining a lot lately about getting fat but he won’t do anything about it and it drives me crazy. He recently got on the scale and was over 200. He’s always been around 170 until he quit smoking almost 2 years ago and put on 20 pounds after that but lately he drinks White Russians left and right and eats take out for lunch most days so it’s adding up. I wish he would take some interest in working out or at least eating healthier. Last night when we got home and I made the salad for a snack he had two bowls of Choco puffs and poured way more milk in then necessary so it could turn to chocolate milk and then he could drink it after.
I didn’t drink enough water yesterday and had too much salt so I’m feeling a little puffy today – hoping lots of water will fix it up.
I was really set on waking up to do the treadmill this morning but when my alarm went off I could barely walk down the stairs to get to the washroom so I went back to bed. It always takes a day for the kettle bell burn to kick in and I’m extra sore today. Hoping it goes away by class tonight or I might have to take a couple Advil. Not resting till the weekend!!!

I started drinking them because I love (read am OBSESSED) the movie The Big Lebowski. I watch it every night at bedtime. I miss my night beverage!!!

My hubby is starting to take an interest (he has packed on 30 kg's since we got together 9 years ago) now that he can see some changes in my body. This week he's been walking and even eating my wicked healthy stirfrys :)

It's so much easier when they do it with you...

Verboc - I just cook separately for myself and make meals up ready in the fridge. It's just so much easier, but I do miss eating together as a family.

Keep that roll going CG! I'm totally having a rest on the weekend too :)

WEll I ended up getting a rest yesterday so no more break over the weekend!!

So yesterday was not a good day – it wasn’t horrible in terms of eating but it was a horrible day nonetheless. The first thing I do in the morning is get a cup of green tea and a glass of water and while I’m going through my inbox at work I eat my breakfast. Well yesterday I finished the tea before I even had a chance to start my breakfast and I should have none better because my body can not handle drinking green tea on an empty stomach. I immediately felt sick and threw up in my garbage can at my desk. I tried to eat my breakfast and drink some of the water but I was starting to feel worse. So I ended up going home just before lunch and slept the whole day. I literally slept from 11:30 to 4:30 and probably could have slept longer but I knew if I didn’t get up I wouldn’t sleep at night. So here’s how the day went:
B – mint green tea, 1 cup frozen blueberries 80, 1/3 cup all bran buds 80, ff activia yogurt 70 total 230
Snack – lg banana 130
D – homemade chicken burger – lean ground chicken, onion, frosted flakes, sweet pickle 250, ketchup & mustard 30, fresh bun 160 Total 440
Snack – leftover chicken patty with ketchup & mustard (no bun) 280
Ok so then I got in a huge fight with hubby – long story short he used the woodstove out in his studio that we just found out a couple weeks isn’t insured so he agreed he wouldn’t use it and went out and bought an expensive space heater instead. So I tried to explain to him before that if an accident happened and the studio burned down and the fire caught to our house – that it wouldn’t be covered by insurance and we would never be able to get a house again. So this made me livid that he decided to use it anyway without even discussing it with me. I cried for about 2 hours straight while he went out to his studio and ended up missing Kettle bell class. I then began to eat more snacks…
Snacks – chocolate chip granola bar 140, fresh bun with margarine 240
Total calories 1460
So it wasn’t horrible but since I didn’t exercise and I ate some unhealthy snacks I felt guilty – I let my emotions get the best of me again.
To try and make up for it I got on the treadmill before work today and did 40 min at 4.0 mph and 6 incline – burned 400 cals. I plan to get to the gym after work and do another long run and some weights.
I think we are going out for dinner tonight but I’m going to try and make good choices. I hope to have another decent weekend with lots of exercise. Still not feeling so hot today and think I might lay off the green tea for a few days. Have a great weekend everyone!
 
As bad days go Lisa, that wasn't that bad! You should see me on a bad day...it involves rarely moving from the couch and if I do move it'd only be to the freezer and back for pizza, ice cream, chicken nuggets whatever!! Don't feel guilty, it's a useless emotion in this circumstance, turn it into something more useful, like determination! Have agreat weekend x
 
Ugh, sorry to hear that yesterday wasn't so hot.. But if that's the worst you do under those circumstances, you should be proud. Hope dinner tonight is wonderful and healthy and yummy!

I've fallen hard. This weekend was a complete write off after going out friday night for hubby's birthday - the whole weekend turned into a celebration. So much chocolate and greasy food - and no exercise!!
Hubby left Sunday morning for out of town and I still haven't gotten off my ass!! Today is a new day and I'm starting over. I can't believe it's day 30 and I've gone no where - so disappointed in myself. Oh well nothing I can do but try again starting today and get my butt to the gym!! No weigh-in for me today - maybe Friday.
 
Hi Lisa... last week/weekend and even this week so far has been a write off for me. Last week was the worst, too much eating and eating out, and carbs galore on top of no exercise whatsoever. I haven't worked out since Sunday but I also haven't really been eating - stress and some things going on in my life that I haven't been feeling like doing much of anything lately except lay in bed and watch Harry Potter... :-/ I've been taking a break from everything but I know things are going to get better and the best way to help myself feel better is to keep my good health so I look forward to getting back on track but for now, I'm taking it easy and not beating myself up about everything, there is just too much I'm dealing with right now to be mad at myself for eating something bad or not working out.

Just wanted to say hi and I'm thinking of you and if you don't hear from me for a while, this is why! Stay positive <3

Well yesterday was an improvement as I got on the treadmill for 45 minutes and did 240 kettle bell swings and some abs but I had a cheeseburger and McFlurry for lunch so I probably ended up around maintanence.
It's been snowing non-stop here so I've been shoveling lots. This morning it took me 30 min of shoveling just to get out of the driveway. It started raining on my way to work so it's going to be ugly going home - especially once the temperature drops again and everything turns to ice.
I'm supposed to go to a dinner party tonight where we wear ugly sweaters but it's not going to be as fun without hubby and the driving conditions are going to be bad so I'm not sure yet if I'm still going to go. If I do I won't be weighing in for sure tomorrow. I really need to have a healthy weekend.

TGIF!! Well I ended up going to the dinner party last night so no weigh-in for me today. I ate healthy all day and went to the gym after work - did 40 min on the treadmill and 7 resistance machines mostly targeting my arms. It felt good to get back to the gym and the sauna afterwards was nice too.
We didn't get to the restaurant until 8:30pm and I was so hungry. Everyone was ordering aps so I ordered some nachos for the table to share and had a total of 2 glasses of white wine throughout the night. My main was a thin crust pizza because they were half off and the deal was too good to pass up plus everything else on the menu seemed like too much after eating some nachos. Most people at the table ordered duck entrees or lobster linguine and it smelled really good but I"m sure it was way higher calories than the three slices of thin crust pizza I had. The pizza had hardly any toppings and only a little bit of fontina cheese. I left full though.
I was happy to see my weight was the same this morning as last Friday so I'm on target for a good weigh in next Wednesday. I feel more positive about things going into the weekend and have plans to have a quiet and relaxing weekend - oh did I mention healthy - yes that too!!

Today has been going good and in about 10 min I will be heading to the gym so the night is on the right track.
I wanted to post a pic of some of us in ugly sweaters last night. I didn't get the memo that it was an ugly Christmas sweater party so my sweater didn't really match the groups but it was so ugly and the material of it was like fiberglass.
 
Wow I actually had a great healthy weekend…for once!! I even allowed a couple treats since I was being so good. Here’s how it looked:

Day 32, Friday:
Total calories – 1375
Exercise – 45 min treadmill – 4 miles, 490 cal, stretch

Day 33, Saturday:
Total calories – 2050
Exercise – Level 1 30 day shred

Day 34, Sunday:
Total calories – 1095
Exercise – 40 min treadmill – 3.6 miles, 410 cal, back, outer thighs, sides, rows, chest press, abs – 3-4 sets of 15 reps, stretch

It feels so great getting through the weekend and tracking everything. I know it’s going to be a great week!! I’m hoping for a good weigh-in Wednesday too! I went out for some wine Saturday night and had a couple chicken wings with my girlfriends. I ate healthy all day so I could indulge a little. I finally completed Level 1 of 30 day shred and to my surprise it wasn’t that scary! Sunday my calories were a little low but I slept almost the whole day and after the gym I treated myself to a Reece Peanut Butter Cup bar. I felt like I had done so good all weekend and I really need to learn moderation so I figured I mays well try it out with a treat. I also bought a small chocolate milk and put it in the fridge and actually forgot about it! There was no forgetting about the Reece cups though!!
Overall I’m really proud of the way the weekend turned out…for once!!!

Sounds like your getting back into it big time. Some great exercise there. It'd be cool if we all lost some pounds before xmas. I'm ready to be really strict for a few weeks. Just need to get over this cold before I can do any proper workouts though... ugh.

Thanks Laura - it did feel great. I found the sweater at our Value Village - it was just brought in that day - such a gem! It was uncomfortable though and I'm sure I will never wear it again, lol!!

A great Monday to start the week!! I’m really starting to feel like I can do this again – while my hubby is away anyway. Instead of counting up the days like I was I’m ready to start counting down the sleeps!! As of this morning only 103 more sleeps to go!! Here’s how yesterday ended up:
B 8:30am – ¾ cup fresh strawberries, 1/3 cup blueberries, ff activia yogurt, 1/3 cup all bran buds Total 230
L 11:30am – 2 pieces Smart multigrain bread, 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, ketchup Total 225
L#2 3:00pm – Veggie salad – lettuce, red peppers, cucumber, green onion, ff tomato oregano dressing Total 155
Exercise – 1 hr kettle bell strength class – my shoulders and back are so sore today!!
Snack on the way home – small chocolate milk Total 170
D#1 6pm – 10 oz turkey breast baked with stewed tomatoes ( I had no clue it was 10 oz!!! The package said 0.29 kilograms and I did the conversion this morning!!)
Total 550
D#2 8pm – 2 corn on cob w light margarine Total 330
Snacks – 2 yogurt mousse cups Total 240
Total Cals – 1730
So total calories were a little high but it was because I had no clue how big that turkey breast was! I felt like I needed the protein after that intense strength training. I’m sure I burned at least 500 calories in that class so I still ended the day with a deficit.
I really could have done without the snacks but I just didn’t feel satisfied and I got into a munchies mood if you know what I mean.
Overall a great healthy day.
So pumped for my weigh in tomorrow however the scales are only showing me a one pound loss as of this morning. I’m also going to take my measurements tomorrow because it’s been at least a month and I’m starting to feel good again.
