Isn't it funny how we all go through these cycles of motivation? It’s so great that we can always find someone to inspire us when we need it. With hubby away and parents so far away… are his parents nearby? I rely on my boyfriend’s dad for support when I have issues with my car or other stuff like that.
Yes it's so true that when I'm posting daily and reading updates I stay more motivated and then when I don't have time - everything falls to the waste side! Thanks for returning the favour!!
My hubby doesn't speak to his dad - I've actually never met him. His mom is very nice but very different than my parents. She has MS and doesn't have a car so we don't see her too often unless we go by to visit. She also lives in a very small apartment that I could only handle being in for so long. I do have lots of family and friends but I hate asking for favours or help. My cousin is coming by tonight to take a look at the situation so hopefully some good news come out of it.

So my weigh-in was 159 - not as bad as I thought it was going to be but still 4 pounds more than I was when I started and it's now day 16 so I may have to adjust my goals a little bit. I'm keeping them the same until the end of the month and will re-evaluate then. I'm super pumped to start kicking butt and move that scale down!! The program I signed up for lasts 20 weeks and it's only 19 weeks now till the cruise so I have to lose at least a pound a week! I'm ready for the challenge!!

Ok so I’ve had a great couple days, here’s how they looked:
Day 16 Wednesday:
B – ff activia yogurt (80), 1/3 cup all bran buds (80), 2/3 cup blueberries (55)
L – veggie salad with chicken & ff dressing (415)
Exercise – 45 min treadmill – 4 miles 480 cal, back, outer thighs and sides machines, stretch.
D – 2 pieces WW whole wheat bread (100), 1 whole egg (70), 2 egg whites (35) (cooked in microwave egg cookers – my new fav!), ketchup (25)
D#2 – 1 can Campbell’s tomato & rice soup (250)
Snack – 2 home made dill pickles (20), sugar free jello pudding cup (60)
Total Cals – 1200 Points – 20

Day 17 Thursday:
B – same as Day 16 (215)
Snacks instead of lunch – pear (100), sugar free jello pudding cup (60), 3 stone wheat crackers (90), 1 ff cheese slice (30)
Exercise – 35 min treadmill – 3.5 miles 385 cal
D – 2 pieces WW whole wheat bread (100), 1 whole egg (70), 2 egg whites (35), ketchup (20), 2 cups sweat potato spears (140), ketchup (20)
Snacks – 2 pickles (30), ff activia yogurt (80)
Total cals – 980, points – 19

I slept in yesterday and went to bed early so the cals are a little low but the weekend is coming up so I’m sure I will make up for them today. I was planning on going to kettle bell but I fell asleep watching tv in bed and didn’t make it back up. I was glad I got the run in at least during the day. Tomorrow morning I plan to get up extra early to make the 9am kettle bell class.

I really don’t have much planned for the weekend except maybe a movie night with a friend. My house could use some cleaning and I’ll probably get lots of rest. I also plan to get lots of exercise and keep up the healthy eating. I realized that even though I had the day off yesterday I stayed within points so why can’t I do the same on the weekend – I’m going to try my best as always – hopefully the results will be better than most weekends. Just found out hubby is coming home tonight. I'm really excited to see him but on the other hand I'm hoping he doesn't derail my efforts over the weekend. The first thing he said when he called was "everyone is going out drinking tonight and we should go". I was really looking forward to getting to bed early and waking up for kettle bell - I have a funny feeling now that won't happen and it's making me mad because I should be able to stick to my plan whether I go out or not - I don't have to drink if we go. I told him I'd like to stay in so we will see what happens when he gets home. I still have TOM hanging around so I'm not really in the mood for much.
Going to hit the gym hard after work in case we do end up going out. I really don't feel like drinking so maybe for once I'll be the driver. I'm going to stay positive about him not derailing things - I can't blame anything on anyone else but me - It's all my efforts. If we do end up drinking and eating more than planned I will just have to burn it off!! The scale is ONLY going down from here. I need to keep the cruise and my goals at the front of my mind all weekend! I know I have it in me!
 
Be strong, Lisa! You DEFINITELY have it in you, so go out and prove it! Sometimes when I'm going out and I'm trying to be good, I'll pick a drink I don't really like, that way I'll be sure to nurse it for a lot longer than I would if I were drinking say, a Shirley Temple with vodka (MY FAVE!) I get mad at myself the same way you do, though, thinking why can't I just not drink ANYTHING. But we have to be realistic! Most of all, just be happy to have hubby home (and don't try to beat him to bed tonight, hehe.) ... Ooh, does that mean he'll fix your water???

Thank you very much! I don't mind myself when I'm fully clothed but thinking about wearing a bathing suit for the cruise is what all this hard work is for! Plus it will be so great to fit into my clothes comfortably again!

Ok so for once I tracked all weekend - good or bad - there was some of both!

Day 18 – Friday Nov.12:
B – ff activia yogurt (80), 1/3 cup all bran buds (80), 2/3 cup blueberries (55) Total 215
Snacks – 4 cups mint green tea (I was freezing & really thirsty today!)
L – lettuce (30), chick peas (85), shredded carrots (35), tomato (10), ff dressing (50), 1 can tuna (120) Total 300
Exercise – 70 min treadmill – 6.4 miles 770 cals, 6 weight machines 3 x 12 reps, stretch
D – chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce (150), lettuce (30), ¼ orange pepper (20), carrots (35), green onion (10), toasted sesame dressing (135), sweet potato spears & ketchup (180) Total 560
So I decided since I had a really good workout I would enjoy myself and have a few drinks with hubby and friends. Ended up having a really good time but made good choices mostly!!
Before bar – ½ bottle white wine (300)
At bar – 2, 4oz glasses white wine (220)
3-4 vodka with a splash of cranberry juice & water (600)
When I got home – 3 crackers (90), 1 ff cheese slice (30)
Ok so some good choices I made were 1)Not drinking white Russians which I really wanted! 2) Not eating anything at the bar 3) Only had the crackers and cheese when I got home and hubby made Kraft dinner and I didn’t even have a bite!!!
So overall I think the day was successful because I had such a good workout before I went!

Day 19 – Saturday Nov. 13th – not as good.
11am – ff activia yogurt (80)
1pm – 3 crackers (90), 1 ff cheese slice (30)
Hubby and I spent almost the whole day in bed – honestly we didn’t get up until 3pm but I was hungry before that so I snuck some snacks to bed.
Then we were going to go out for dinner but we were both pretty lazy and I didn’t feel like going to the gym to shower and I needed a day off so we ordered Chinese food.
Not sure what the calories are but I know they are horrible and full of salt!!!
5:30 pm – 9 wontons, 7 bon bons, 1 egg roll, chicken fried rice (too many cals!!)
Hubby went to the store to pick up snacks even though I begged him not to.
Snacks – 2 handfuls chips and dip, 1 beer and clamato
So Saturday was a failure. If I would have gone to the gym it might not have been so bad but overall it was not successful. I’d like to blame hubby but I made the choice to put it in my mouth.

Day 20 – Sunday Nov. 14th – decent
Exercise – 45 min treadmill – 4.3 miles 500 cals, 5 machines 3 x 12 reps, stretch
B – 2 pieces WW whole wheat bread (100), 1 whole egg (70), 2 egg whites (35), ketchup (20), 1 bite hubby’s hot dog (20) Total 245
L – 3 left over bon bons (500), chip crumbs & dip (150) Total 650
D – 1 cup steamed broccoli (50) w 1 ½ cups home made spaghetti sauce – ground chicken, peppers, onions, crushed tomato, spices (250) Total 300
Snacks – 2 sugar free jello pudding cups 120, 2 bites hubby’s spaghetti w noodles 60 Total 180
So I think by not having my spaghetti with noodles I saved myself some calories but my lunch was crap. I should have thrown out all the leftovers first thing Sunday morning!

So overall I think the weekend was ok but it could have been better and it could have been a lot worse so I’m happy.
I’m ready to start the week off right and have a good weigh-in Wednesday. My best friend is having her baby this morning and I can’t wait to find out if it’s a girl or boy!! Just got a call and it was a boy!! That’s two boys for her now! Wow I feel old today.
 
Day 21 of 139 was a great day! Here’s how it looked:

B – ¾ cup fresh strawberries (50), 1/3 cup all bran buds (80), 1 ff activia yogurt (70) Total 200

L – California salad – romaine lettuce, strawberries, kiwi & mandarin oranges w creamy lemon, dill dressing (no clue – I didn’t eat it all maybe 400 cals)

Exercise – 60 min treadmill – 5.7 miles 700 cals, abs, sides, pushups & stretch

D – 2 corn on the cob (220), margarine (90), 4 oz boneless pork chop (240) Total 550

Snack – pear (100)
Then hubby came home from a friends and said “I got you a treat”. My response was “it better not have calories in it”. His face went to a sad look and he started to walk away so I knew it was a bad treat – turns out it was a Reece PB cups bar so I decided to have one cup! We were talking about them all weekend so I guess he thought I wanted one. He also told me he’s sick of hearing the word calorie and he only got home Friday! I told him to get over it!
Late night snack – 1 Reece PB cup (90)
Total Cals – 1340

Feeling like it’s going to be a great week however I’m already sick of snow. This morning it was hailing on my way to work and I would have loved to stay in bed with hubby. Going to see my girlfriends little new born tonight and I’m so excited for her. Also planning on going to kettle bell to get some much needed strength training in!

Awesome day! Motivates me to make mine better than yesterday! I never made it to the gym and I didn't count all my calories.... I've just been so stressed with all this school work and this stupid 10-12 page paper that is due tomorrow and I only have 2 pages done :( UGH!!! I am making today better though because I feel gross for not working out since FRIDAY! I WILL go to step tonight..... PROMISE YOU!!!

Boyfriend hasn’t explicitly said he was annoyed by my calorie talk yet but I can only imagine how hard it has been for him to refrain! He’s cute when he tries to be helpful, though… like when he denies my low fat fudgsicle (60 calories) and instead says I should have healthy peanut butter crackers (190 cals) haha. I got mad at him at the coffee shop last weekend when he told me I shouldn’t eat a donut :( But then I avoided both the donut and the bagel and instead went home and had a light English muffin with reduced-sugar strawberry jam. And you know what? It was delicious. I thanked him then!

Feeling like it’s going to be a great week however I’m already sick of snow

Send some snow my way, please!! We hardly got any in my area last winter so I’m hoping for lots of snow this year to make up for it!

And an hour on the treadmill? You are kind of awesome. See, now we’re switching roles again! I was a disaster last night on the treadmill, I’ve gotta step it up!

I wish although I don't mind the snow if it's nice out but lately it has been a full blizzard with crazy wind and this morning hail. I like cross country skiing so I'm excited to bring those out soon - otherwise I wouldn't miss winter at all!

I know and 70 min on Friday! I'm loving the running again - started slow at 5.5 and yesterday I was up to 6.0 with 1 incline. Can't wait to be back at 6.4 and 2 incline! I have to give you all the thanks! You'll be back soon too - once school settles down a bit - just make sure to get at least one run in a week so you don't have to start from scratch again.:seeya:

L #1 11:30am- veggie salad – lettuce (30), carrots (35), cherry tomatoes (20), ff tomato, oregano dressing (45) Total 130
Snack – 1 cup mint green tea w lemon
L#2 2:00pm – 2 pieces WW whole wheat bread (100), 1 whole egg (70), 2 egg whites (35), ketchup (20) Total 225
D 5pm – 5-6 oz chicken breast, boneless/skinless (250), sauce (50), 1 med baked sweet potato (200), ketchup (20) Total 520
Exercise – 1 hr kettle bell circuit – warm-up, stretch, two interval workouts using core, then with about 30 min left in the class we started 300 KB swings – 30 two hand swings, 30 ea. L/R clean & press, 30 KB squats, 30 ea. L/R snatch, 30 sumo squat high pulls, 30 ea. L/R pull ups, 30 high swings – then we got a 1 min rest and repeated it with 10 reps instead of 30! I was beat and sweat was just dripping from my face.
Shake – 1 scoop Whey protein mix (100), 1 sm frozen banana (100), vanilla extract (10), 1 cup skim milk (90), ice Total 300
Snacks – sugar free jello cup (5), homemade dill pickle (10)
Total cals for the day – 1400

Looking forward to my weigh-in however I’m wearing heavier pants and a sweater today – I’m running out of clean clothes since I’ve been afraid to do laundry at home and haven’t found the time to go by a laundry mat. Our water is looking more clear now that hubby installed some new pipes and a new pressure tank so hopefully by tonight I’ll get some laundry done.
I loved coming home from the gym and watching Biggest Loser – they did a lot of moves with kettle bells on last night’s episode and it made me feel good about my workout.
Oh and hubby had his band members over and he called from the garage and asked me to turn on the oven because one of his friends brought a pizza. At first I told him I wanted a bite and thought about it more and when it was ready I told him just to take it straight out to the garage and not even tempt me with a bite – I was so proud of myself because it smelt so good and I haven’t had pizza in a while. I knew right then it was going to be a good week!!

WOO HOO! Way to go on ANOTHER awesome day and resisting temptation! This is DEFINITELY your week... keep it up! Good luck at your weigh in! BTW I'm still so jealous of those kettle bell classes... man I wish there were some at the gym here... sounds like such a great all around body workout... How is this season of the Biggest Loser so far? I haven't been keeping up on it... I like watching it more towards the end of the season... especially for the makeovers!
 
Hey Sarah make sure you watch next week's episode because it's make over week!! I really like the season so far but I think the challenges could be more interesting - I always love the temptation challenges. I think they are down to 8 players or less so it's getting exciting - the finale is always my fav!

So it was a good weigh-in and I'm down 2.4 pounds to 156.6!! Looking forward to doing the same next week!! This weekend is hubby's bday and we just found a friend is leaving town so there are lots of parties coming up to send him off - I'm going to try and keep the workouts intense to prepare for the weekend. Tonight a good run and kettle bell again tomorrow. Maybe even get on the treadmill before work again now that I can shower at home.

I think the Aussie Biggest Loser is going to start again soon, I can't wait. I love it and at least I'll be proud when I watch this season, won't be sitting on the couch eating chocolate and ice cream feeling guilty as!!!

Awesome job on the weigh-in! I bet you were pumped. And avoiding the pizza was a huge accomplishment! I watch Biggest Loser on my computer, on the weekends. This is the first season I've watched, so I didn't know they did makeovers! I'm excited. Hey, so these bran buds you eat... How do they taste? I've started being a little wary about cereals and I know the bran stuff is pretty much on top of the nutritional list... But every time I look at the box at the store I get so disinterested!!!
