Here we go! A diary for 'the last 20'!!

Today I wanted to do strictly intervals:

12mins - 1mile - incline 3.0 - 1min run @6.0mph, 1min walk @ 4.0mph
3mins - incline 10.0 - walk at 3.7mph w/ 2 30sec sprints at 6.0mph
5mins - incline 15.0 - walk at 3.7mph
8min - incline 3.0 - 1min run @6.0mph, 2min walk @ 4.0mph
2min - incline 3.0 - cool down walk at 3.0mph

Total: 30min - 2.20 miles - LOTS of sweat!!!

30 ball pushups, all upper body machines, bicep curls and tricep ext with 10lbs free weights, abs and then my hour was up (Sam was in the playcare).

Food:
B - 1cup optimum cearal with skim mile, cup coffee w/ half and half
S - banana, ff cottage cheese, honey and hemp seeds (put alittle more honey today and it was REALLY good!!!), green tea
L - bowl garden veggie soup and ww crackers

I'm thinking liver and perogies for supper, YYYYUUUUUUMMMMMMMM!!!

NOT :( Emma got her first report card and it was awesome. Told her we would take her out for supper... the only place she wanted to go... McDonald's :banghead: Oh well. It was the best Big Mac EVER, but now I'm craving crap. Gonna be a long evening fighting cravings :nopity:

I've been waiting for your update before I post but I can't wait any longer because I have to go into a meeting and might not be able to get back on here today - hope your having a good morning! Stay strong on the temptations to snack - I had a little episode too last night with some munching - nothing we can't burn off at the gym! Perogies sound delicious but liver - gross! I've actually never tried it so I shouldn't knock it but I don't think I would like the texture. Your interval training on the treadmill is awesome - the time must go so fast when you are on there!

cottage cheese... yeah i gotta tell ya its good one day for me an then the next i might not be able to get it down... think its the texture. I do MUCH better with the small curd kind!!!

your morning with the fireplace and christmas tree sounds incredible.... good for you!!!! :) bet it was super relaxing!!! :)

Hey Lisa, sorry I missed you :( Liver is VERY gross.. unless you cook it right!! You have to slice it REALLY thin so you don't have the texture issue. Then you coat it in flour, garlic and pepper and it HAS to be fried in butter with red onions. SO GOOD!!!

I am SOOOOOOO excited for all of us for tomorrow!! I have a really good feeling . To be honest though, we've already won. The way we are all feeling about yourselves is so much more important than numbers on a scale!!:grouphug:

I got quite the talking too last night from my husband about this. He was saying the same thing. I can't ruin a 6yr olds party b/c I'm pouting that a big mac is going to ruin my day. It was really good... I REALLY enjoyed it... and I didn't over do it. I had the munchies and had a small bowl of S&V chips but woke up this morning like it had never happened. I felt exactly the same as I do every morning. I decided that in the new year my goal is going to be to find "balance". I've working so hard and doing so well with my body, but everything else is just kinda slacking... and then I feel horribly guilty and down on myself for not being able to do everything. Stupid I know. But thanks for the advice "just move on". So true!!!!



Ok, this morning!!! I woke up at 8am and thought, "oh how nice, the girls slept in till 8 oclock :)". About 2 secs later, my thoughts were, "OH SHIT!! IT'S 8 OCLOCK!!!!!:willy_nilly:" So no nice morning coffee by the fire today... I'm doing that now ;) Gym this morning ROCKED!!! Back on the Canadian Treadmill ;)

10min - incline 0.0 - 9.0 kph - 1.6 km/1mile :hurray: was much easier today!!
5min - incline 10.0 - 4.0 kph - 3, 30sec sprints at 9.0
5min - incline 3.0 - 4.0 kph - 1min run at 9.0/1min walk at 4.0
5min cool down - I really needed it today. Pushed myself slightly past my edge and was almost having trouble breathing at the end of the 20min.

I only did 20min on the treadmill today b/c I knew I would be coming home to shovel too ;) Did all lower body machines at max weight, plie squats, and added lunges. I dislike lunges A LOT!!! So I figure if I really don't like them, I really have to push myself to do them and they are really good for you... blah, blah, blah :p ;) Finished with abs and a really great stretch. I am feeling it a little today though!

I am so excited for tomorrow, and then the christmas party on Sat. I am so proud of myself for what I've accomplished in the last 6 weeks. They say it takes 6 weeks to change your body and that is exactly what I've done. Feels so good!!!!

I am so happy right now. But the even BETTER part is that I took my measurements this morning too and I've lost another inch off my belly hips and thighs!!!!! I could NOT get that tape measure to say 24 around ANY part of my thigh. It was all 23"!!! 23 1/2 at the very top :)

No gym for me today. Sam and I have a coffee playdate this morning and I have GOT to spend the afternoon with my washing machine :p

Christmas party is tomorrow night and I can't wait to post picks of me in my dress :)

Ok, yesterday. Had a coffee/play date in the am so the gym was out. I had been the last 3 days in a row so I was perfectly ok with that. I had ran out of time for breakfast so I grabbed a granola bar and mandrin orange on the way out the door. We got home at lunch time so I had leftover burrito and corn w/o the tortilla b/c they were all gone. I was full when done, but so not satisfied... so I started scouring the cupboards. I had a bad of Veggie Chips so I got myself a small bowl with some nacho cheese and salsa. That did the trick. I had Nutcracker rehearsal at 7:30 so we had an earlier supper. Finally made my liver, perogies and onions. I LOVE liver, but sometimes I have a really hard time eating it after handling it raw :p That was last night and it just put me in a really bad mood. I had about an hour and half before rehearsal and the gym is only a block away from the dance studio so I decided to go. My coffee date in the morning is a runner and I was asking her about her times. She says she runs really slow, but does 5K in 30min. I've come to realize that I'm a little more competitive than I thought I was b/c all I could think on the way there was ;) Up till now, the longest I've ran straight through is 10min. Well last night I ran for 30 :svengo: I ran 4K in 29:30 and was really proud of myself. I took 2 30sec walks just to grab some water and the rest was running at 8.0kph or higher. I still did a few little sprints at 9.0kph and all on 0.0 incline. There were a couple of times I was really scared my liver was going to exit my body, but it's all good. I then did a pretty intense upper body workout with mostly free weights and LOTS of ball pushups. Finished with abs and a REALLY good stretch (I was feeling my legs for sure) and my mood was completely changed :)

I was so hungry when I got home from rehearsal... I had another bowl of Veggie chips w/ cheese and salsa and a beer. I haven't had a beer in FOREVER!! I'm not a big beer drinker and I've VERY picky about what I'll drink... and only out of a bottle!! Hubby picked up a case of MGD (my fave!!!) so I had to have one. I was pretty loopy after half the bottle :blush5:

I had a HORRIBLE sleep last night, another rehearsal this morning, hair appt at 1pm and then I have about 5hrs to beautify myself before the big party :hurray: I'm gonna need it!!

On an extremely positive note, I jumped on the scale again this morning b/c it seems I'm always lighter on Sat... 136.8lbs!!!!!

You are just kickin' ass and takin' names Marie! lol DANG nice job on the run!!! It is just gonna keep getting easier and easier for you. It's amazing how it used to be sooo hard to even stay on the treadmill for 10 minutes!! Imagine where you'll be 2, 3, 4 months from now if you keep it up. Do I see a half-marathon in your future? :p

And 136.8?! Dang girl wait for me!!! LOL I hopped on the scale this morning and was only 0.2 down... better than up I suppose! But I am confident that I could be 136 by Friday... I bet you'll be to 135 by then!

So I completely forgot my camera but did take a pic before we left thank goodness.

The party was a lot of fun, and the food was great!!! Dinner didn't start till almost 7:30pm so I was SOOOOOO hungry but I did really good. They had about 4 different salads, green, greek, caser, and then just veggie with balsamic. I took a little scoop of each covering half my plate. A very small scoop of mashed potatoes, a smaller spoon of stuffing and a nice piece of white meat turkey w/ gravy. The plate was full but not stuffed and nothing was piled on anything else (normal size dinner plate too). I ate it all and felt very comfortable. There was no way to was passing up the dessert table ;) I had a slice of apple pie and 2 mini mincemeat tarts... THEN I was full, but still not stuffed. I could have gone back for more but I DIDN'T!!!! For drinks I had mostly water, 1 small glass of red, a cup of coffee w/ the pie and 1 vodka cranberry right at the end of the evening. I danced A LOT!! I'm feeling the heels this morning ;)

It was great b/c it proved to me that I can have a great time and not deprive myself of anything. I have to admitt I've been concerned for the holidays b/c I don't want it all to go in the toilet and now I'm positive it won't. This morning the scale was 137.2 and I feel really good. BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!! :party:

I never thought I could wear it either but tried it on just for fun. I was by means the hottest girls in the room... but I was close ;)

Definately in the 130's to stay. Our scale is in our ensuite and we both step on it too much, but I'm LOVING the fact that now, in the evening, after supper, fully dressed I'm 13... Not a 4 in sight :hurray: Feels SOOOOOO good!!!

I had to seriously give my head a shake yesterday... all day it was like "ok, parties over, you wore the dress, looked fabulous, now your good!!" I had wanted to hit the gym yesterday. We went and saw Santa in the morning, took the girls to the "Princess and the Frog" (bawled my eyes out. Damn Disney) and then went home. I could NOT get the motivation to go after that. It is SO COLD!!! -42 yesterday, -35 today :p

I'm really stressing about this week actually. Nutcracker rehearsals every night, 6 shows this weekend, school x-mas concerts/parties, laundry and packing for our trip... LOTS of excuses :nopity: I just have to wrap my head around it all and do it. I know for sure I'll get to the gym Tues and Thurs morning. Fri, Sat, Sun is out d/t shows. I might try and get there this morning... I have a massage at 3pm, Emma - dance class at 4:30, then Nut rehearsal at 7pm. AAAAAHHHHHHHHH :svengo: Maybe I'll work on my attitude first!!

I am HORRIBLE once I get stuck in my head... and the excitement about christmas is not helping. The only problem with the snacking is that when I get home I want to eat. Take`s some serious willpower to keep my mouth SHUT!!! ;)

I'm running a little late this morning so this will have to be quick.

I not sleeping right now, waking up every half hour and so tired during the day. I moped around here all morning, finally layed down and had a little nap, found some motivation, a good workout video and then we were off!! I did an old Kathy Smith one "Lift Weights to Lose Weight". It's an hour long with a cardio warmup, upper body with 5 - 10lbs hand weights, lower body with hell of a lot of squats, and a nice stretch. My ass is on FIRE this morning.

Eating was ok yesterday. I went and finally got some groceries so I have my healthy snacks back!!

We moved onto the stage last night which was AWESOME!! I forgot just how much I love being up on that stage. It's going to be a long super fun week.

off to the gym this morning... I'll post more later.

Wow an hour workout dvd at home and then hitting the gym! Your going to be able to bounce rocks off your bum!

Glad you got your workout in for me ;) Haven't made it to the gym yet... not sure I'll have to the time... after my next exam comin' up soon here, I have to write my paper that's due tomorrow by 4!!! Eeek. I'll probably just do some exercises in my room before bed. I've got weights, and a ball :)

:smilielol5: LMAO!!! It's amazing how one little word can change everything. That one little word is... "yesterday"!! Opps :blush5: YESTERDAY I did the hour workout video... TODAY, I can hardly move ;)

I did get to the gym this morning though. My legs, butt, arms are really sore so I figured a cardio day was in order. I had decided that I wanted to see just how far I could run at 9.0kph... :smilielol5: My mind was ready for the challenge, my groin on the other hand was NOT! I made it 5 min and had to stop b/c I was worried my right leg was going to give out. The right adductor attachment was twinging and very weak. Walked it out for a while and continued with intervals. I still pushed myself hard, but my limit was MUCH lower today than usual. It looked something like this:

5min - incline 0.0 - 9.0kph
10min - incline 8.5 - 4.0kph w/ 6 30sec 9.0kph sprints
5min - incline 15.0 - 4.0kph
10min - incline 3.0 - 2min run @ 9.0, 2 min walk @ 4.0kph
10min - incline 0.0 - 9.0kph - had to walk (4.0) and catch my breath 3tx

Total: 40min/5km

I'm not sure why it was so difficult today... could be the lack of sleep...

Was going to do abs, but I was out of time and really needed a good stretch. My legs/butt are so sore. Gonna have a nice long hot shower and maybe a nap. It's snowing pretty good so I do see a little shoveling in my future :p
