Here we go! A diary for 'the last 20'!!


Don't feel discouraged about no loss this week! Better to maintain than gain! (hey, that rhymes :) )



It's the weekend... wahooooo! One week till the 11th... let's see what we can do!

Well unfortunately I am back up to 140 :( I'm just hoping it's all bloating weight and will fall off early to mid week... we'll see...

I'm not sure how today is going to go. I woke up with a killer headache and just feel like crap. Had a stupid rehearsal last night, another one today and a 5hr one tomorrow. I'm just glad all our christmas shopping is done so we don't have to enter a single crazy busy store. That would put me over the edge!! I really want to get to the gym today, but I don't know when I'll get a chance. I'll try to go after rehearsal I think, but I have to figure out how to get the girls home... they're always in the way ;)

On week... not feeling very optimistic right now, but that's more to do with the headache. Always makes everything seem so much worse :p

Thought I would share a pic of my snow. Took this yesterday before shoveling the other half in the afternoon.

I think you can definitely see a difference in your stomach. Looks like there's some more definition there to me. And I'm so glad we don't have that much snow down here ... ughhh, winter stinks.
 
Hooooly snow! Man I'm not lookin' forward to it! We are supposed to get about 10 inches here this week... :(

And yes I can see a difference! It probably looks different to you because the snap shot is taken from a different angle - try to keep them as close as you can to the original, it will be a lot easier to tell! Your tummy looks way flatter, and where your thighs touch in between - it looks to me like there is less flab. It's always harder to look at yourself to see the difference - we see our bodies everyday and we are so used to them... but from an outsiders point of view it is very clear to see! DON'T be upset about it! You and I both know that you are making progress! :)

5 days to our goal... not sure what is going to happen but we have to be proud of ourselves to making it into the 130's at all! If we can't get to 137 so be it! We were aiming for somewhere between 137-139 so I think it's safe to say our goal has already been met :p But I'm ready to kick it this week and do work at the gym! I need ya this week... and I'm here to keep you in line too!!! :smash: hah!

marie - i do see a difference.. you're more toned, and wow, you have great legs!! I know it doesn't feel that since your top of your thighs still are touching (I'm the same here) but you have great definition downwards that I envy. Sexy knees!!

I also wanted to say I really need to hear this!

Thanks Sarah :) I was thinking the same thing about the angle too... I was just expecting to see MORE of a difference I think. I feel like there is more and was just slightly dissapointed when it wasn't a huge change. It'll come, I know that!!

I do really want to kick it this week. I can't believe we're at this point already. I'm feeling really good about this week and even started it off already. Went to the gym tonight. Wasn't planning on going, but I knew I would feel so much better and that it would be a great start to the week :)

Did 20 mins of intervals on the treadmill on incline 8 - 15.
20mins on the bike between level 8 -13.
Weight circuit at my max weight 3sets of 10reps. I've been able to increase the weight on every machine/exercise except triceps. When I told the trainer this she said it was time to change my routine so that I'm doing upper and lower body on different days... therefore doing more than 1 exercise for each muscle group. We'll change it up after x-mas. Very exciting!!!

The gym here is getting stupid busy which makes it difficult to want to go. January is going to suck :p

I am totally ready for kick ass week! I think it's going to be a good one! My motivation is high and my cravings are gone!
Wow you have lots of snow! I thought NW Ontario was bad but we don't have that much yet - soon though, I feel it coming.
Your progress pics look great - your body is smoking already - can't believe you've already had babies! I should show you what I look like in a bikini and you would probably feel WAY better! Sorry I can't do that though and never will ;) Putting on a one piece is still really hard for me. I'm going to have to for the Dominican though! Maybe I'll take some pics too.
Good work getting those work outs in! Hope you feel better this week - feeling over tired and getting head aches doens't help in this journey - make sure you drink lots of water!! Let's kick it this week!! I feel good things for Friday!:waving:

also... just take pics once a month now..... same time every month... you will start to see the changes... trust me... i went through the saaaaaaame thing!!! Its a head game the first few months... but they you start thinking WOW... what a change so far!!! :)

That's so funny... I've always hated my knees ;) Thankyou for your comments. I don't think I'll ever have thighs that don't touch, and I'm ok with that. I am at the point where I'm noticing a difference when I walk and am very excited about that :D

I was SOOOO excited when I put that dress on and it actually looked good. Such an amazing feeling :D

Thanks for the advice on the pics. I usually take my own pics with the self timer and the camera on the counter. My husband took this one so it was in a completely different spot. I will probably take another one myself just so I can see. I'm FEELING the changes more than anything so I was a little discouraged when I couldn't see as much as I feel... but I'm over it ;)

Wow such a difference! That is awesome! Good work Marie! Just imagine what you are going to look like once you reach your goal! I don't know what Sarah was talking about but I don't see any flab on your thighs in either pic! Just skin ;) but really your getting all toned! So happy for you! :hurray:

I RAN A 10MIN MILE THIS MORNING!!!!!
It was AWESOME!!! I decided I was going to try it on my way to the gym, then the only machine open was the one in miles!! There were a couple of times that I wanted to stop, but I honestly didn't need too. The last minute 30 just about killed me though ;) But it felt so good when I was done. Then I threw the incline up to 15 and walked at 3.5mph for 5min, then put the incline down to 2.5 and did some intervals... 1min run at 5.0, 1min walk 3.7mph. Got to the 2mile mark at 24:30min. Put the incline back up to 8 and walked at a nice easy pace for the last 5min. Just did lower body weights today, b/c I want to go tomorrow and do upper body. Really pushed myself and my legs where quite shaky and burning when I was done.

Now for my "I do the dumbest things" story of the week. Purely for your enjoyment :p

My skin tone is very pastie so I thought I would like to get a little color before the christmas party Sat. I was going to get some tanning mins, but b/c I have to start at like 2min so I don't burn I figured a self tanner would be the way to go. I talked with a girlfriend who only uses self tanners and got all the important info (you know where this is going don't you ;) ). Anyway, I couldn't find the one she recommended so thought I would go with the Jergins Daily Lotion one... but they have a new "express" one to give you a nice color in only 3 days... PERFECT!!! So I put in on yesterday. Did all the things I was suppost to do and away I went. Well, by last night I was a beautiful shade of brown with very nice orange "spots". A very nice ring at my jaw and it smells horrible. It acted just like a self tanner. I put a little on my face before bed just to even it out. This morning it looked about the same. So, I'm at the gym... do my run... get off the treadmill... look in the mirror....... I have orange streaks running down my arms, neck and chest. Lovely :smilielol5: Really all you can do is laugh at this point. I grabbed some paper towel and wiped myself down the best I could, finished my workout, came home and scrubbed myself raw. On a very positive note... at least I was smart enough to do this at the beginning of the week and not the night before the party :ack2:

A 10 minute mile! Did you ever think you could even run a mile before, let alone in 10 minutes!? Dang girl :p Great work out. You really pushed yourself this morning... you must have felt really great afterwards! Keep it up!!! You should try to find yourself a 5K to sign up for and work up towards it! You could totally do it!!!!

And your story is sooo funny!!! I myself am REALLY pale so I've had my fare share of fake tanners... and they do NOT work well on my skin tone! That's hilarious that it just sweat off of you - at least it didn't stick!!! :smilielol5:

There's a craaaazy snow storm on the way... and I'm looking forward to shoveling tomorrow! Get myself a nice work out like you shoveling the driveway! :)
 
:smilielol5: That is so funny! I could totally picture the same thing happening to me! Actually once after I got my hair died I had somewhat of the same experience except my hair was sweating and dye was dripping down my face and stained my t-shirt!:smilielol5: I love it!
So glad you tried the 10 min mile because I did! See we both can do whatever we set our minds too! I'm learning from you - so keep it up! :hurray:
I'm loving this week almost more than kick ass week - I just have so much energy and feel like smiling. I can't wait until Friday weigh-in! I think it's going to be a good one and even if it's not I'm still getting hotter - I can feel it lately more because I have been working my muscles more! Can't wait to really step that up in the New Year!

Thanks girls!! You know I wouldn't be pushing myself like this if it wasn't for you guys... so thanks, so much :)

I'm sitting here in the dark with my fireplace going, the christmas tree lit up and a great cup of coffee. Today is gonna be a great day :) I just did lower body weights yesterday so I can go back today and do upper body. I think going the 3 days in a row will really help to push me along.

Food yesterday was good. I'm finding the snack monster is trying to come back so I'm REALLY going to need to watch that one... especially over the holidays. My mom is the worst for christmas treats :reddevil: I did however eat cottage cheese yesterday for the first time, and it wasn't bad at all. By the last mouthful I was getting a little freaked out by it though. I ate it with a banana and a drizzle of honey. I've heard green onion and S&P are good too.

Well, HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE!!!! Lets make it count!!! :D:D:D:reddevil:

Oh I wish I was having a morning like you!! Sounds so Christmas-y :D

Cottage cheese IS weird...I used to eat it alot when I was little...so much I HATED it eventually... then I started eating it again when I started eating healthy... It is good to eat in small amounts... but something I like to do it put it on my salad! Yummmm :)

I'm so proud of you for doing a 10 minute mile! :grouphug:

I just may have to try that soon to see if I can do it. I just started eating cottage cheese a couple weeks ago. I find it's a great way to add some protein for breakfast, but I can't really eat more than a few bites cuz I get sick of it so fast. Good in small doses. Hope you don't look too orange for the party!
