Here we go! A diary for 'the last 20'!!

So it turned out not to be the flu, but a ruptured ovarian cyst. OUCH!!!! And it's not even just the pain. I'm horribly dizzy and nauseous. The worst part is I can't even walk. I walked my girls to school this morning and had to get a ride home b/c I was so dizzy and the pain was so bad. So much for a great Friday weigh in. At least with the flu I could have lost a few lbs ;) I'm kidding of course... ok maybe a little part of me feels that way. How sad is that?!

 Sorry, but this sucks. I spent Thursday night in emergency and I have say it was one of the worst experiences EVER!! 5 1/2 hours and all I got was pain meds to cover up the pain, and a horrible diagnosis. The dr actually told me to stop exercising and having sex with my husband b/c they would flare up symptoms... I would just have to learn to 'cope' with this new lifestyle. I wanted to smack her. I did step on the step on the scale this morning... 148  I am so bloated, but still. That was hard to see. 3 lbs up from last week, and 4lbs higher than my goal. My new goal for the moment is to just maintain so I don't lose everything while we figure out whats wrong.

Sorry to hear about your hospital experience... eek! Sounds painful... it's too bad you're not feeling good :( And don't be discouraged by the gain... your health has been totally out of your control being in the situation you are in now. Way to turn it into a positive and ADJUST your goal to something reasonable for yourself instead of just getting rid of a goal all together! I hope you feel better soon!!! Take it easy!

Thanks Sarah!! Giving up has been my style for a very long time so I'm very motivated to stay away from that way of thinking.

So I'm going to try things alittle different this week. I'm going to log my eating and exercise on here a week and see where I end up at the end... Halloween!! I also took a pic 2 weeks ago and I'm going to put it up... sorry :blush5:

Ok, here we go:

Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee
Green smoothie (mixed greens, V8 juice, yogart, tofu, banana, orange, blueberries, ground flax, protein powder, cal/mag)

Exercise: walked my daughter to school and then took the med loop home. not a good workout as I'm walking with a 3yr old the whole time, but it's still about a half hour of walking.

..... hmm.... did you purposely clean up the room really nice before taking that pic! i find it hard to believe a room can be so clean! well maybe that's just MY problem! haha puts my pics to shame (i'm going to make sure the next time i post one the floor is SPOT LESS lol!) but anyway you look good! :) keep it up and you'll have a rockin' bod in no time :p

HAHAHAHAHA!!! :smilielol5: You so funny. I will admit that I moved the toys out of the way before taking the pic, but I try to keep things clean and tidy ;)

"Good" is definately the right word. By x-mas I'll change that to "HOT"!!!

Ok, so the rest of day went a little something like this:

snack: turkey pepperoni stick and 1/2 pb&j sandwich on the way to the gym
lg glass water

45min Fusion class (yoga, pilates, strength)
bottle water

lunch: bowl veggie soup w/ 6 ww crackers and cup of green tea

snack: small bowl kettle chips and lg glass water
tall non-fat pumpkin spice latte (YUMMMMM)

supper: 2 tuna fritters, salad w/ mixed nuts and fig balsamic dressing
sm glass skim milk

I have been so hungry all day today. Not sure whats up, but I'm at my max for cals... 1280!! It's going to be hard not to snack tonight. I'll drink some tea, chew some gum and maybe go to bed early ;)

Good day so far. I was quite crampy this morning so I drove the girls to school, but then hit the gym :hurray: 30min on the bike (6.64 miles on level 8 hills) then arms and legs. Felt fantastic after!!

Breakfast: cup coffee w/ cream
green smoothie
Snack: lg coffee and lemon/cranberry muffin from Tim Hortons
Lunch: Homemade potato soup and green tea
Snack: sm bowl mini wheats w/ 1/4cup skim milk
turkey pepperoni stick

I stepped on the scale this morning, just for fun ;) and was very happy to see 145.0!!!

:waving: I am having such a good day!!! I jumped on the scale this morning (b/c I'm obsessed this week) and was... wait for it... 143.6 I couldn't believe it. I never thought I was going to make the halloween goal. I have to shout a a huge THANKYOUto you Sarah. Reading your journal has kept me motivated!!

Ok, back to reality. I finished off yesterday with,

supper: scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 1/2 a tomato
snack: bowl of kettle chips

I ended the day at 1472cal *yikes*. I didn't realize just how many cals are in a Tim Hortons coffee with 2 cream and a muffin... 400cals :ack2: Seriously, if I'm going to consume that many cals I want it in a Big Mac!!

Today so far...

Breakfast: cup coffee w/ cream
green smoothie
Snack: turkey pepperoni stick
Lunch: 1/2 salmon wrap w/ 1/2 slice swiss cheese

Cals today so far - 560

.... so this pretty much just made my day :)

And the rest of my day went something like this...

Snack: lg coffee from Tim Hortons (only 1 cream this time)
rice krispie square (homemade)
Supper: slowcooker chicken stew thing - not exactly sure what it was. I was in a hurry so I just through some stuff in there and turned it on (slowcookers ROCK!!). It actually turned out great... although I will admit a small part of me was hoping it wouldn't so I would have to pick up a Big Mac on the way home :p
Snack: green tea and bowl of kettle chips

Topping my day off at 1207cal... I think. The stew thing may have been more.

I got together with a trainer at the gym tonight and set up a program. She has me on a great program for strength and cardio combined to save time. 30min on a cardio machine and then 30 on the weight machines, but changing back and forth b/w machines after each set so I'm resting one group but working another. I love this idea b/c it will keep my HR up and save time!!

What a day!!! We got 6 inches of snow last night :eek2: I didn't get breakfast until 10:30am b/c of school halloween parties and snow pants, "mom, I can't find my mittens" :p Got home from dropping the 3yr old off and couldn't get up the driveway b/c of the snow. Took me an hour to shovel. I decided I didn't need to go to the gym after that ;) Had my ultrasound this afternoon and everything looks good. I'm very happy but not at the same time. It's great that nothing is seriously wrong, but would be nice to have some answers.

Anyway, food for the day:
Breakfast: coffee and green smoothie
Lunch: 2 slices turkey breast, 1 slice swiss cheese, pickle, turkey pepperoni stick
Snack: sm bowl of kettle chips (I think I'm addicted), green tea
lg Tim Horton's coffee, 1 cream
Supper: meatloaf, mashed potaoes, gravy, corn on the cob, rice krispie square
Will probably have another small bowl of kettle chips and a green tea while watching Grey's Anatomy tonight

Total Cals for the day: 1267 :)

I LOVE THE GYM!!! I forgot how good I feel and how much I enjoy going. I was only able to do 20min on the bike b/c the little one was in the playcare. But I was able to keep my HR at about 80% and went 5miles on level 9. Then I did the machines back to back to keep my HR up and it worked. I didn't get much in for abs, but I can do those at home later. I am hoping to still be at 143 tomorrow, but not expecting it :( 4 days to my period so I'll probably be up. Oh well, that's my body ;)

Food so far:
Breakfast: 2 cups coffee w/ cream and green smoothie
Lunch: 1/2 PB&J sandwich

Isn't the gym great :D :D :D sounds like a good work out even if you didn't get to bike long... any exercise is better than none!! I think I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning too.... I'm still going to record the weight that I was this morning and THAT weight will count (since I've been keeping track of every Friday) but JUST to see how I made out for ACTUAL Halloween might be nice :) Plus I pushed the water today... I drank 100 oz so far which is the most I've had in forever!

Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow :)

I wanna try one of those green smoothies!

~ Sarah

Thanks! I'm not expecting much and especially now... the hubby's bringing me a Big Mac :D My one true weakness I'm afraid, but after this day I couldn't say no :p

The green smoothies are awesome!! It's nice too b/c you can change them up so much. I got started by googling "green smoothie" and got a whole bunch of ideas.

Unfortunatly the McDonald's will put my cals for the day at 1600 :ack2: Oh well, I am going to enjoy it :sifone:

Yikes, what a weekend :p Saturday was of course all about the girls and halloween. And now we have a HUGE box of candy up on the top shelf in the garage... out of site, out of mind right ;) We bought 2 boxes of candy and didn't get ANY kids... plus all the stuff the girls got. I'm going to send a very large bag with my husband to put in the lunchroom at work and get the rest of it out of the house some how.

We did make it to the gym yesterday. Did 30min on the crossfit machine thing and then my 30min circit. I want to get back there today for a cardio day, but... we bought a new dryer yesterday and the damn thing doesn't work. I have to stay at home and the tech guy will be here sometime b/w 8am and 4pm :p The worst part I have 2 loads of wet laundry in my washing machine but I was so excited and got ahead of myself. Is it really too much to ask that you can buy something, bring it home, plug it in and it works?!?! Oh well, it will be working, or I'll have a new 'working' one by the end of the day. Maybe I'll do a yoga practice at home.

So yesterday was pretty much a complete right off. The dryer fixer guy didn't come untill almost 1pm which sucked b/c I so could have made it to the gym in the morning :( I couldn't go after b/c my girl has to be picked up from school at 2:30, then dance at 4:15. I also got my period last night so I feel like crap :p Wow... look at me with all the excuses, yikes! I really want to try and make it to the gym today sometime. I have a client this morning while the little one is in preschool and then I have to take the van in to be looked at b/c the check engine light came on yesterday. I'm hoping it was just a moist sensor and that it will be out b/c I could go right after lunch. My inlaws are in town so they could watch her and I wouldn't have to be so strict on the hour. We'll see!!!

For food yesterday:

Breakfast: coffee w/ half and half, green smoothie
Lunch: toasted tomato sandwich w/ very little mayo
Snack: bowl kettle chips and green tea
Supper: BBQ pork on WW roll w/ fired onions and green peppers and low fat montorey jack cheese. Organic spring mix greens w/ homemade honey mustard dressing (YUM). Apple pie for desert :)

No idea what my cals were, but I think I was close...

So my client just called and cancelled, so it looks like I'll make it too the gym after all. My body is happy, but my bank account is not. That's the only problem with this business. You have no control over when people will show up. Oh well, I still LOVE it :)

So I did make it to the gym today :hurray: Decided to do strickly cardio.

30min - crossfit machine thing (it's like an eliptical and stepper together) I did the weight loss setting which was a mix of low incline/high resistance, and high incline/low resistance.... keeping my HR at 80-90% the whole time.
30min - treadmill. This was very exciting b/c I did some running for the first time. I've never liked running. I hate that feeling of not being able to breath... but Sarah was in my head saying "oh come on. Take it easy and give it a try", so I did. Took it very easy:
5min walk - 3.5mph
1min run - 6.0mph
4min walk - 3.5
1min run - 6.0
4min walk - 3.5
1min run - 6.0
4min walk - 3.5
5min walk - 3.0mph w/ incline 15
5min gradual cool down

I felt fantastic after, and really quite proud of myself :)

I was so good for food yesterday... until last night :p

Breakfast: coffee w/ cream and green smoothie

Lunch: 1/2 toasted ham and cheese sandwich (my version of a grilled cheese done in the toaster so you don't need butter. I started it for my girls but have been having it myself now too), and spring mixed greens with mixed nuts and Fig Balsamic dressing.

Supper: Sweet Potato Chili - let me know everyone wants this recipie. It's fantastic and so super easy in the slowcooker!!

Snack: Tim's lg coffee, 3 small halloween treats, bowl of kettle chips :p

My cals are still good, but still. I don't know why I binged like that, and I could have kept going :drool5:
