Here comes the bride...1 MONTH TO GO!!!

Yikes only one month till the big day!! The last two weeks are a complete write off - I was 1.6 pounds away from my goal and I blew it - big time!
Now it's time to get it back and if I work really hard I might be able to make my goal of 140 by August 5th. The big day is August 7th but we are having the rehearsal party August 5th so I would like to reach my goal by that date. I also have my first doctor's appointment that morning and I haven't had a family doctor since I was 8 years old so I'm really excited to finally have one and not have to sit 2 hours in a walk in clinic anymore. I want to make sure I'm 100% healthy in the next year because we plan to start baby making next June.
Ok here's a little about me for any new readers:
I'm 27 years young and will be 28 in August - I love being a leo.
I'm 5'6 and recently got down to 141.6 - I'm not sure where I am at now because I'm too afraid of the scale but it feels like I've gained 10 pounds. My clothes are tight, my belly is loose and my sugar cravings are through the roof.
I was 224 pounds at my highest that I ever braved the scales - I'm sure it was higher because I was dieting for 2 weeks on my own before I finally signed up for Weight Watchers. That was in 2003 - I managed to get down to 180 and then gave up for a while and got back up to 206. Went back on the program a few times and got down to 160 in 2008 for my sisters wedding. Again lost interest in living healthy and went back up. In August 2009 I joined WW again and have been steadily on the program since then however my membership just ran up and I'm debating to join again. I like the accountability of weighing in and the flexibility of the plan however money is tight since we are paying for the wedding and I'm going to work hard the next couple weeks and try to be accountable on my own.
I know what to do and how to do it and it's time to just DO IT! The next problem for me is going to be maintaining because I have a track record with getting really comfortable where I am and throwing in the towel and gaining weight back really quickly because of how bad I am with binging. I need to learn to find balance.
Ok so last night I went grocery shopping and stocked up on only healthy things! I woke up this morning and went on the treadmill for 30 minutes - I wasn't ready to start running again so I just did 4.3 mph and incline 6 and burned 300 calories roughly. I have my gym bag packed but I don't plan to start kettle bell again till Saturday. I just want to go and do some of the weights and maybe the eliptical or spin bike.
My plan is healthy eating, lots of exercise and lots of water!
My hunnie has two weekends in July planned for bachelor parties so I plan to be really good those weekends and just make sure to get lots of exercise. I don't have any parties or outings planned till the rehearsal so I should have no excuses!! 140 here I come!!

Woohoo a bright n shiny new journal!! Haha I was actually considering making a new one too, I think I might tomorrow. I just feel like I've come so far personally since starting my old one (even though my weigh ins have been crap lately) I think I might just do that!
OMG I can't believe your wedding is only a month away! Craziness!!!! Enjoy the build up- the month before my wedding was the quickest month of my entire life. No joke. It was suddenly there and I was like WHOA.
I'm sure you'll get back to where you were fast enough, I think I might brave the scales tomorrow if I'm going to start a new journal and everything... eep... would really rather not but I guess I have to know!
We can do this- lets bust it out this month!
 
Congrats on the upcoming wedding!! :) I got married last september and it was a really exciting and busy t ime!!! :) Make sure to enjoy every moment of the day...i consciously tried to do so, because it is all done so fast! Also there is no such thing as too many pictures!

You are doing fantastic with your weight l oss, congrats! :)

Is your fiancee interested in a healthy lifestyle as well? That will make it easier (in a way) to keep things going after the wedding when you start your life together. :)
 
One month til the wedding!? i can't believe it! This month is going to fly by so you better be prepared to kick some ass all the way through it :p I am feeling ready to get back to my routine now. I've been having wayyy too much fun lately. It's not so much that I'm unhappy with my body... but I'm unhappy with how much I've been cheating on the gym! lol I want to be strong and stay strong... I feel like I'm loosin' it! Tomorrow is back to calorie counting because I need to get back to goal weight and start maintaining again. Got my alarm set to wake up at 6AM tomorrow for the gym! I'll be thinkin' of ya. Hope you had a great weekend! I miss chatting with you and I apologize for not being around as often but I'm going to try to get back on here in the mornings!

Thanks Sunflower - the support is what keeps me going!! It's so easy to be bad and throw away the healthy lifestyle but it's so good we keep coming back! It's always more motivating when everyone is on the wagon together!

I'm totally ready to bust it out this month!! Like I said above it always seems easier when we are all on the same page working for the same things. I braved the scale this morning too and it wasn't pretty!!

Hey thanks for finding me and stopping by. I'm scared how fast the day is going to go by. I paid the photographer yesterday over a thousand dollars so he better take a ton of pictures! I love pictures and that was the # 1 reason I wanted to lose weight so much - I know those pictures are going to be hanging on the wall forever so I better look my best!!
Unfortunately my hunnie isn't so interested with being healthy and he doesn't have to watch what he eats because he burns probably 3000 calories a day at his job - yesterday we worked outside in 32 degree weather (Celcius) lifting steel and tying steel for 8 hours and said he didn't stop dripping sweat the whole day. I try to tell him it's not all about gaining weight but feeding your body healthy food but he's not quiet ready for that yet. Hopefully by the time we have kids I'll get him on board.

Hey Sarah - I miss your morning updates also! I too am not that unhappy with my body but I know it's going to get worse if I keep up the bad eating and drinking so it's time to get serious again and get back down to goal. I really want to be able to try and maintain instead of getting there and throwing in the towel again. I also want that strong feeling back and feel squishy again. Looking forward to your updates!

Ok so I am so happy to say... One perfect day down!!! 32 more sleeps to go!! On a less than positive note I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 152 - yikes!! I know some of it must be water weight but still!! Guess I have to update my ticker. Ok here's how the perfect day looked yesterday:
Exercise - 30 min treadmill (300 cal, 2 miles)
8am - 1 cup green grapes
9am - mint green tea
10am - ff yogurt & 1/3 cup all bran buds
11am - mint green tea
12:30pm - veggie salad - carrots, cucumber, black olives, green onions, yellow pepper, cherry tomato w ff dressing
2pm - mint green tea
Exercise - 35 min treadmill (360 cal, 3 miles - yeah I did some running and it felt great!), 2 leg machines & two arm machines 3 reps of 15, stretch.
6pm - 1/2 cup brown beans in tomato sauce, 1 1/2 corn on cob w light margarine, 4 oz bbq chicken breast
7pm - went to see Eclipse!! It was so good!! I think I need to buy the last book to find out how it ends! I hope she ends up with Jacob - he is so gorgeous!!
9:30pm - chocolate WW protein shake w water
10 pm - 5 cherries

So I am so happy with the way I started things off and feel really good about the days to come. I didn't do the treadmill this morning because I have golf and baseball tonight and brought my runners to walk at lunch. I can't wait to see the scale drop below the 150's again - I told my hunnie I would never be back there so I gotta work hard to keep the promise to myself. Have a great day forum friends!

Don't worry about the scale so much it's so hot lately that the scale lies, the B_____lol! Humidity make us retain a boatload of water so just keep eating healthy and start back with your workouts, don't beat yourself up over cheating there is always a gray area in between bad and good days....you know you can do it! I really hopw you get your hunny on board with the healthy eating before you have little ones it help big time, my hubby and I have power struggles when it comes to the way kids should eat it's not fun, because of him my daughter no longer eats fruits ever since she was introduced to candy, I should have kept the no candy rule until she was in school! I have to fight a whole lot of people just so my kids don't eat too much of that crap! Keep having days like yesterday and you will do great! Are you guys having a heat wave too????

Maybe you will break out of your shy shell when you get to your goal weight! Leo's are not meant to be shy however I find myself getting more and more shy the older I get which is really weird. Your lucky your birthday is on a Saturday this year. And yes we are having a heat wave too! I feel so bad for my hunnie having to work in it all day. I've been opening all the windows in the house at night to try and cool it down but we sleep on the top floor and it's so hot! I haven't been sleeping that great either.

Ok so far so good and feeling great!! It was too hot and muggy to go out at lunch to walk so I drove to the gym and ran on the treadmill for 23 minutes!! I don't get a long lunch break so I had to hurry but no one noticed I came back a little late! It felt so great too - I wish I could do that everyday but most days I don't even leave my desk for lunch. I had to have a quick shower because I was sweaty - people probably wondered why I came back from lunch with wet hair but oh well. I'm not sure how much fun golf and baseball are going to be - it's so hot and sticky and my hair does not like this heat! Ok till tomorrow forum friends!

The weight you have put on is probably mostly water weight, and now that you are back on track, they'll just melt away. You will be a perfect bride. So excited for you.

I have been kinda blah these past few days, so I tried getting back on track yesterday. It went okay till the dinner, and then it went downhill. Today is a brand new shiny day, so I am gonna stay strong.

Its so hot here as well. I am not a very big fan of the summer because I love outdoors and want to spend a lot of time out. I don't mind the sun in the fall and spring and winter, but the summer sun really gets to me. Can't run in the heat.

Hi Chubbygirl! Happy new journal. Only one month to go - that's pretty exciting! Don't let the slip up get to you. I did the same - lost lots of weight then slid back for while. I'm back on track now though, just don't give up!

Interesting that you mention you want to start baby making next June - that's when we want to start trying for baby number two, so we can swap notes! I really need to learn to drive first though, as my new house is in a very hilly area which is a great workout when you're not pregnant, but would be a bit challenging once I am. Unfortunately I can't really afford to start learning till Jan....

I see that you're a green tea drinker... were you always, or is that part of your weight loss plan? Cause I'm a bit stuck in a plateau and I've heard that green tea is a metabolism kicker, so I wonder if that's true. Thanks! Keep having incredible days and get (even more) excited for the big day!
 
Way to go Lisa! Your food log is perfect. Nice job choosing some cherries as a snack before bed instead of junk food to satisfy your sweet tooth! And also the treadmill workouts are great. I haven't been on my treadmill in sooo long. I should get back on it because all it requires is going down into my basement and getting on... no debating if I'd like to drive to the gym or not! Wasn't Eclipse the BEST?! I saw it twice... once at the midnight showing and once on opening day... yeah, I went twice in 24 hours!! LOL I'm such a nerd. Anyways I gotta leave for work here so I'll come back later to see how yesterday was! Have a good one!

Hey Juni - I know some of it is water weight but I also know some of it is FAT from all the crap I ate in the past two weeks, lol!! I'm ready to work it off again and start fresh - good for you for starting a fresh day too! Every day should be started that way!! Keep cool in the heat - water is so important and I need to work on that too!

Thanks for stopping by! I used to just drink herbal mint tea and then I started reading about the benefits of green tea and found a mint green tea and really enjoy it - not sure if it helps with weight loss but I know it's a good antioxidant and much more healthy than juice or sugary cappuchino's which I used to drink. I also really like the caffine boost in the morning! For plateau's I recommend going back to writing everything you are eating down and changing up the exercise a bit.

I had another perfect day yesterday!!! 31 more to go!! I'm feeling the exercise again and it feels great except my hip flexor is a little tight so I have to make sure to get lots of good stretching in before and after my work outs.
Here's how yesterday looked:
8am - pear
10am - ff yogurt, 1/3 cup all bran buds & 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Exercise - 23 min treadmill (235 cal, 2 miles)
1pm - big veggie salad - same as Monday w ff dressing
4:30pm - nectarine, 2 bites left over chicken
6:15 - 4 slices turkey bacon, scrambled eggs w a little bit of cheese, 2 pieces WW toast, a little too much ketchup
Baseball for 2 hours - we got killed 11 to 1 so I was doing a lot of running out in the field and it was so hot.
10pm - 9 cherries
11pm - 1/8th fair size watermelon
Golf was cancelled because it was too hot after work and wouldn't have been fun.
I'm really getting my sugar fix with all the fruit I've been having lately and I think my body likes it better than sugar from butter tarts! It's all in season right now and fairly cheap so it's hard to resist. The watermelon before bed wasn't planned but it was a nice treat to try and cool my body off before bed. It's supposed to be really hot and muggy again today so I plan to do the gym after work and then later go for a walk with a friend once it starts cooling down in the evening. Veronique I heard it was 32 degrees in TO today at 7am! Can't imagine what you are going through there!
I haven't been getting enough water so today my mission is to try and get more! HAve a great day forum friends!

Thanks Sarah! It's been tough getting back into it - I've had to talk myself out of cheating a few times but I'm so glad I'm sticking to it this week - I really want to finish strong. It does make it easier when your fridge is stocked with good stuff!! My treadmill is in the basement too so it's easier to do that instead of going outside lately because it's been so hot. I want to buy the final twighlight book but haven't gotten around to it yet - did you read the books?

Yes it is very hot but I decided even if I think it's too much, I am gonna think back of the times I cursed winter lol and try and enjoy it...I am soo going to my parents on the weekend to swim!!! so I don't melt lol! I am now craving water melon lol! I need to stop at the grocery store and buy some lol!

It's just the mornings that kill me... we've only had rain once this winter and we've been having warm spring days- like early to mid 20s every day (that's celcius) but it's been like as cold as -2* at night and in the mornings!

Minus 2 for winter is pretty sweet! If it gets up to minus 15 in our winters it's considered nice out! I'm so glad cherries are good for skin because I love them and have a lot at home to eat!

Ok so another perfect day down!! 30 more to go!! I had to fight with myself a few times today to make it perfect but I'm so glad I did. Here's how it looked:
8am - pear

12:30pm - 1 can campbell's turkey vegetable soup w 2 oz left over chicken breast added
Exercise - I really had to talk myself into going to the gym - it was so hot and all I wanted to do was go home and sit in the basement.
25 min treadmill (260 cal, 2.2 miles) abs, sides, back and outer thigh machines 3 sets of 15, stretch.
When I got home from the gym hunnie had made me dinner and forgot I was back to eating healthy this week so didn't prepare mine as healthy as he normally does
D - tuna melts w two pieces rye bread (60 cal each), a little too much cheese & mayo, sweet pickles and he added genoa - it was delicious but a little high in calories for what I'm used to having.
Exercise - went for a 40 min walk with a friend (not a very fast pace)
Snacks - 12 cherries, 3 thin slices watermelon, 1/2 s.f. choc pudding cup (hunnie ate a few big bites)
I was feeling really snacky and wanted crackers or granola bars but settled for fruit and pudding which I think was a much better choice. My whole body is sore today and I think I need to take a day off from the treadmill but I still want to go to the gym after work - maybe I'll do the eliptical or bike instead. I also have baseball and I hope we do better than Tuesday. I'm super busy at work this week and there are so many people I feel like I haven't visited in a while - Janvier, Mizzie, Andy, Njoyabl, Theresa just to name the ones that come to mind right away - hope you are all good - will get to visit hopefully tomorrow.
