Here comes the bride...1 MONTH TO GO!!!

Aw, don't worry yourself. We all have these short comings, and the good thing about them is that they are short. You have been awesome at losing the weight, so I am sure that once you decide to really kick the slump, you'll really be in high gear, and back to normal in no time.

haha that is totally why I was more upset - which led to emotional eating! Damn he has another bachelor party coming up and they are going to Montreal - not sure how I'm going to handle that one!
Hey Lisa... ugh, what a weekend. It's been really tough lately. I just want summer to end because it's so hard to stay focused with so much going on! I am going to run on the treadmill tonight so I hope you get your run in too. Hope to hear some good news tomorrow, take care!

Good morning. So some good news about yesterday and some bad. Monday night because I had all my hunnie's family over I didn't get a chance to get prepared with lunches or organized for the week ahead so yesterday morning no my way to work I got a bagel with plain cream cheese and a large cappuccino which didn't start the day off right. Lunch came around and I picked up a chicken wrap in a spinach tortilla - better choice than McDonalds but still high in calories and fat! When I got home from work I had some time to make some salads for the rest of the week for lunch and wash some berries and fruit. I wasn't hungry before baseball so I headed to my game without dinner. I wasn't really in the mood to play so I sat out the first half because we had enough players for a couple extras. I played 3 innings but the other team was so good I only got up to bat once and struck out. It was a quick 3 innings. I went over to watch the rest of my hunnie's game and started to feel hungry so headed home. I got home around 9:30pm and really wanted to go for my run so instead of making excuses I got my runners on and headed out. I did the 5km route however I forgot to check the time when I left so I"m not sure how long it took (probably around 30 min) - I felt like I was going fast but I also haven't ran in almost a week again so I was struggling a little bit near the end. When I got back I didn't feel like making anything but knew I needed something before bed and so did my hunnie so I made us shakes - 2 frozen bananas, 2 chocolate protein powder packs, some ice and some skim milk blended - it was yum and we drank them in bed - we were both beat. So the day ended much better than the start and I'm ready to finish the rest of the week strong!
Tonight I have appointments with the lady who is marrying us and the photographer - hunnie is going to have to work late so he's going to miss them. Work is quieter this week so I'm hoping to get to the gym at lunch. There is a 30 min cycle class at noon I'm hoping to make it to.
Last night when I was on my run I started thinking about the half marathon and how I really need to get serious about training and really make an effort to get some running in every day or AT LEAST every other day. I really want to be able to finish the whole thing running.
24 more sleeps to go! It's crunch time so why am I being so slack! Maybe it's because subconsiously I know I'm not going to reach my goal so I've slightly given up - I don't want it to be that way so I'm just going to try to come as close as possible - no looking back!
 
I think sometimes, that's exactly why I slack up here and there! I subconsciously have been this way my WHOLE life?! Do I know any different!? No.. :(

I mean, yes, a few pounds less here and there..but still....

..You know what has been helping me mentally lately,...I feel like slacking when I think of the wedding in 10 days, because I know I'm not gonna reach the goal!...BUTTTt when I think of the end of September for Graduation, I feel like MOVING and working for it, because I do think I can reach it!! :D!

Maybe you should mentally "pretend" your goal is further away to give your mind enough time to reach the goal! That way you can PUSH hard now, and still think you have more time to get there....though you dont! LOL!! ;)!

Good idea Alta! New goal is to be 140 pounds by the half marathon on September 19th! That is totally attainable and if I get there sooner - all the better! Pumps me up to train harder too!

I'm feeling so much better! I made it to the gym at lunch and took a 30 min cycle class that kicked my butt! I was dripping sweat after 10 min! I haven't been to one of those classes in so long and I really want to make sure I get one in once a week! When I was going to two one hour spinning classes a week my core was so much stronger and tighter and I want that feeling back! They offer the classes Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6am - 7am and I would love to get into a routine to going to those - I need to stop thinking about it and just go and do it already!!!
 
I hear you!! That's how I feel about morning workouts already!! I've been pressuring myself to get up and work out, but maybe expecting less from myself will allow me to get up and at least rollerblade a good 8 miles before work! I could dig that! Gonna try and start tomorrow! :) You get to that spinning class!!!
 
Awesome comeback for the end of the day - if I were you I would've came home from the game and just pigged out. I'm glad you got your run in! That shake sounds sooo yummy. You should be very proud for ending the day so well after having an off morning! I'm still having a hard time with the concept of just because you ate one bad thing doesn't mean you have to eat like crap the rest of the day! It's too easy to make excuses like that. When is your half marathon again? I forget. I should really sign myself up for another one or maybe even a 10K race just so I have something to keep me motivated to run. In fact I think I will look online for one right now! Also great workout today. I can't wait to get back to school so I can take all the free gym classes they offer. I really miss step class! I'm with Sarah on this. You totally turned the day around and got a run. That already means a lot. :) Remember, one good day, is all it takes to get back on track.

Also, I know what you mean by being away from this site. I was away this week because I have been so busy and by the time I come home I just want to collapse so haven't had time to buy bad food or eat em. With every day Im away from this site, I become less careful, think less about the kind of food I'm eating. And I wonder why I can't find 30 mins in my day to come here and read and update. I am gonna have to work on that from now on.

I know what you mean - I'm like that a lot! That's why it's so important to start the day right and keep it going that way. The half marathon is September 19th - you should sign up for something and we can work on our running together. I also miss all the fun classes I used to take - just too busy or lazy in the summer.

Remember, one good day, is all it takes to get back on track.
Your right however I had a good day yesterday and still think it's going to be tough to end today the same - my motivation is being taken over by tiredness lately - I just feel beat and that never equals healthy living for me. It's a tough battle.

Ok so yesterday was a pretty perfect day - my plan got a little messed up so it wasn't as perfect as I wanted. We had wedding appointments after work which kept us in town late. We both didn't feel like cooking so we decided to go to a new restaurant that just opened - I saw a sign for a salad bar so I got excited. We sat down and looked at the menu and the salad bar and then left - it was pretty much expensive fast food and not what either of us were looking for - the salad bar looked pretty gross and nothing appealing. We then talked about going to Boston Pizza but there really aren't any good options for eating healthy and it would have been too expensive so we decided to go home and make something. When we got home we were surprised by two trees down in our yard and one of them took down our hydro line however we still had power which was really bizarre. I guess there was a storm that passed through and there were leaves and branches everywhere. I planned on going for a run or doing the treadmill but by the time we got dinner cooked I was beat - it was a long day and I just wanted to read my Twilight book in bed. Here's how the eating looked:
B - ff activia yogurt, 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, 7 blackberries & 1/3 cup all bran buds
Snack - 2 cups mint green tea
Exercise - 30 min spin class
L - big veggie salad - lettuce, red onion, cucumber, red pepper, black olives w ff tomato, oregano dressing.
D - 2 slices rye bread, 1 can tuna, little bit of light mayo, dill pickle, hot sauce & 2 ff cheese slices - made as open faced tuna melts w 1/2 can campbells tomato & rice soup.
Snack - small veggie salad (same as above) w thousand island dressing
I wanted to get up and go for a run but it was raining and my legs are pretty sore from cycle yesterday so I didn't make it to that morning class either. I have baseball at 8pm but I plan to go to the gym after work and run on the treadmill for at least 5km.
I just feel so tired and beat lately and I don't know if it's because my mind is constantly thinking about things for the wedding and work has been really busy or if I'm coming down with something. It was kinda weird that I had my period for the last two days but I'm in the middle of a pack of pills so I should not have gotten it. I always skip the week off and haven't had a period for a while so maybe that is just my body tellling me it needs a rest. Either way that might have something to do with my laziness too. So glad the weekend is coming up and hunnie promised me it would be a quiet one!! Looking forward to relaxing with him however we still have lots to do for the big day!
 
The month before the a wedding is always so stressful, one of my friends and her hubby to be took a day off from work and went to a spa together like 2 weeks before the event she was a lot more into the planning after I think she needed a break!!!!! If you can 't afford the spa day mabee just take a day off together and go play golf or hike something to take you mind off everything and just let go for a few hours, if your mind is tired so will your body! Take care and congrat on the good eating and good work outs!!!

I have the week off before the wedding so I'm hoping to get as much done before then so I can just rest that week and take care of small last minute details. I plan to sit by the lake and do some swimming and sleep in everyday!! I should be able to update during that week though because I'll be at my parents lots and they have a computer.

Thanks Alta - you wouldn't believe how many things I can think of in a minute! never mind a whole day! It's exhausting! My hunnie told me last night I have the mind of a serial killer just because I think of the craziest things!
I do believe I will be a beautiful bride and I'm going to work it!! I love my dress and there is no way I couldn't feel sexy in it!

Ok so I am in a great mood this morning! Not sure if it's because I had a great day yesterday or because it's Friday but I love it! Here's how yesterday looked:
B- ff activia yogurt, 1/2 cup fresh strawberries & 1/2 cup fresh blackberries w 1/3 cup all bran buds

L - big veggie salad - same as lunch yesterday
forgot to eat my peach I brought for a snack because I was so busy at work
Exercise - 50 min treadmill - 4.5 miles (7.2 km) including warm up and cool down - ran at 5.7 mph with incline 1.5 most of the time. 5 resistance machines - 3 sets 15 reps, back, arms, shoulders, outer thighs, good long stretch.
Snack - home made dill pickle
D - 4 oz bbq chicken breast w bbq sauce, 1/2 can diced potatoes w onions & grilled zuchinni - yumm!
Snack - I diced up 1 nectarine, 1 peach and 1 apple and split them into two bowls and added 1/2 ff activia yogurt to each bowl - yummm and hunnie loved it too!
So food was great! I skipped baseball because I was too tired and the game wouldn't have been over till 10pm and I just wanted to get a good nights sleep. I'm glad I didn't because I don't think I would be feeling as good today!
My hunnie's best man came by last night to bring us our wedding present and guess what he bought us!!! A 52 inch LED Sharp TV - it's huge! He is way to generous and I don't know how to thank someone for such a generous gift. He is also paying for my hunnie's bachelor party trip to Montreal next weekend! I wish I had that kind of money to throw around!
Tonight we are going to a friends house warming party and I offered to be the driver since I didn't want to drink this weekend - it will be an early night. Tomorrow I plan to go for a 10km run since the studio at the gym where they do kettle bell is under construction till July 21st. Sunday we are going to my parents to help with some landscaping and I hope to go to a spinning class. I'm also hoping to make it to the gym at lunch for another 30 min cycle class. I'll update later if I made it or not.

I wish I could work out like that everyday on my lunch! Really breaks the day up - however it takes about an hour in total to get there do the workout and wash up and get back to work. I'm really only supposed to have 20 minutes so I won't get to do that often. The office has been quiet today because everyone is starting holidays.
4 days of workouts in a row!! Ready to keep it up over the weekend!! Have a good one!!

I've met forum friends and we have met to run races together too and traveled to see each other!! :D! Off this forum actually! And I've stayed at their houses, and we all visit each other! Go figure...online people are REAL! hahah ;)!

Awesome job on the mid day workout! Its nice when you can get it out of the way like that and feel pumped you made the effort! And I actually LOL about the sweating on the arms comment. That happened to me yesterday, I was like "Damn, I really must have worked hard!"

Oh I wanted to mention something funny that happened during spinning class - the instructor says in the middle of the class "has anyone ever told you that you look like the famous figure skater jamie sale?" I have had others mention that but I didn't know who she was so I googled her and she is HOT!! I was embarrased because everyone was staring at me but now that I know what she looks like I don't mind people saying I look like her!! Here's a comparison pic - I really don't see it!
