Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Amazing Haj!
I need to stick to it like you do.
As it is everyday keeps turning into a stumbling block for me.
Keep up the good work!

Got up at 5.30 am to do my 2 miles but I only finished 1.75 miles. By the end of the week I am exhausted with all the extra work I am doing. It is ok, I still try to do something tonight.

snack: 1 low sodium V-8 juice, 1 90 cal quaker granola bar = 162 cals

Hey your doing great!
Don't beat yourself up :banghead: since you didn't go a full 2 miles.
Heck I can't run anything at all! LOL

Your menu looks great!

HI Bella, thanks for visiting.

I feel pretty tired but I am going to make myself do some kind of an exercise after I get home.

I was going to stop weighing myself every day, but I couldn't resist today. So I modified my ticker, it looks so much nicer under 150.
Then I will really stick to the weekly weigh-ins!!

I too strive to wigh in weekly, but end up sneaking a peak through out the week. I will not peak again till Monday!

My weigh in day now is Wend.

Ok, I had the best intentions about exercising after work. Than my husband called that he had to work late, and didn't get home until 7.00 pm. After that I just had no motivation to work out plus I had to do my second job stuff so there.
I did stay on track with the food though.

This morning, i scraped myself out of bed at 5.00 to run my 2 miles so I can be at work by 6.30 am. it was not easy, took quite a lot of convincing but now I feel a lot better and also proud that I did it!!!

So the money coming in from my second job is now going towards an elliptical machine!! I am super exited. i think I just convinced hubby to go and buy it this weekend!! I like the Nordictrack Audio trainer 800, my treadmill is nordictrack brand and I like it so far. So we will see. Then I can alternate my mornings between running and using the elliptical to break up the monotone routine.
Well, I would never thought I would be exited about an exercise machine!!

that's it for now.

Good to have ya back:)If anyone can do it it will be you, you are so disiplined adn focused:) Im sorry to hear youhave been really sick:hug2:

Ha ha ha - I know I just got a bike that is an elliptical/bike:)and I love it and was so excited by it and get excited when I use it, pathetic but good I guess. I absolutly love the elliptical:)!

Awesome job gettin up out of bed so super early! I know how hard that is, and I never get up THAT early.

How exciting to be getting a new eliptical trainer! Have fun with it!

HI ladies, thank you for your encouragement!!!!

Hmm, I just read some of my diary pages back from months ago. Man, I really did exercise like a mad woman, used to burn 750 cals a day.
Nowadays I am shooting for 400 cals burnt max, and sometimes only manage 200 for my morning run, like today.
No afternoon exercise for me tonight, just had to much to do after I got home and now I lost the motivation to go downstairs to run.

I am sure I will make up for it tomorrow on my new elliptical!!

I stuck to my menu though, so consumed about 1470 cals, and burned 220 in the morning with the run.

Planning to run in the park on Sunday about 3 miles which is very steep in places so I really do a good calorie burn.

I am confident I can get back to the 145 where I was for months and I would love to lose another 5 to finally get to my goal of 140 but we will see.

I forgot my menu for today:
Breakfast : 2 waffles, jelly, whip cream, 1 banana
Snack: cottage cheese with cherry pie filling
Lunch: mexican un-chicken-squash-bean stew, 1 c. cherries
snack: 3 small apricots, 15 almonds
dinner : Baked tofu, steamed veggies, fruit shake made with almond milk and 1 c. frozen raspberries.

Total 1470 cals.

Good mornin'!
A run in the park sounds good as long as it's not too hot. I took the dog for a walk the other day and we both were wiped by the time we got back. I think it ws around 90 degrees. j I only took it earlier when it was hotter because they were callin for rain- figures, it never did.

Have fun with your elliptical when you get it.
We have the AudioStrider 990.
It is all automated. So that when you are on a hilly program it moves all by itself. Just like at the YMCA.
Of course it has all kinds of whistles and bells too. Fan, port for a MP3 player, lots of programs, you get the idea.
It does have the capability of plugging in a memory card that has a pre-programed program on it. Even comes with a voice to tell you to "speed up, down."
I can't stand listening to "the voice"!!! LOL
So I never use that option.
Here is a site all about mine:

In looking to see what the differences were I realized that yours is only different from mine by a few things.
I went ahead and put a side by side together to show you the differences.

Mine has the Power incline whereas yours you would have to get off to change it manually.
If you can swing the extra $$$ I would go with the Power one.
Also I recommend that you get the additional ins.
Even though ours wasn't always getting daily use it still had some wiring come loose in the Maganetic thingy. Luckily for us hubby is very handy and was able to fix it. But for about an hour it was touch and go. As your not suppose to open the Magnetic thing unless you are a tech and know exactly what you are doing.
Hope this helps.
Actually I hope you get this before you buy that way you can be very well informed.

Hi Hajni!

Just got a small break (of course I think I'm making it longer than I should) and I thought I would stop by and see how everyone is doing here at WLF. I'm glad to see you're posting again.

Just remember how far you've come... as the saying goes... you've come a long way, baby!

Well I'd better go check on the rest of my WLF friends. Good luck with your new elliptical. We have a precor. It's one of the lower costing ones - not as many gadgets. But what I've found (working out at the Y or here at the hotel) is that you don't use most of the gadgets offered anyway.

TTFN!

HI Ladies, thanks for the great advices!!

Yarmiah : I promised myself that I will run outside as much as I can as the treadmill gets boring.. well that was a nice intention on my part but I just can't handle the 90-95 degree weather. The humidity is what kills me, so here is I am in the middle of the summer using my inside treadmill :) . I will attempt the run in the park tomorrow, we'll see. Unfortunately I can't go earlier than like 9-10 am because DD.

Bella - Thanks for the review and comparison!!! We did leave in the morning before I had a chance to read it but we looked at the automated incline feature one in Sears and while I liked it, hubby said the manual one will do just fine!! LOL. Sometimes I would love to have electronics the same way you can buy a dell computer, just build it up by components, so you can leave out the features you don't want. For me the MP3 player thingy won't get used as I will use the machine most likely in the mornings when everybody sleeps so I will just listen to music through my earphones. Also the ifit feature is nice but I am not sure I will use it often. My treadmill has the capability of using ifit cards but I never utilitized it. The fan is almost always useless and the built in heart-rate counter is a total joke. I never seen an elliptical or treadmill that accurately measured my heart-rate.
So far we are halfway through assembling the thing, I did what I could now I need hubby's help to move it to its permanent place and finish putting it together. It seems to be a very sturdy machine, 12 level of resistance, 10-20-30% incline options, pre-set work-outs... I have to became familiar with all the gadgets on it.

gotta run, hubby decided to help at this minute.

Back, ok I will finish it putting it together after DD went to bed. I am so exited to exercise on it soon!!

SweatPea: I am glad you stopped over!! I need to check out my friends diary and try to catch up on happenings since I wasn't around. I was using all kinds of ellipticals in the gym and wouldn't you know the one I liked the most is this old-old machine (they don't even make it anymore), no swinging arms, just an armrest but the console unit was such that I could put a book-holder on it and read while working out. I absolutely love that machine and I searched high and low for a similar one and I couldn't find it.

Ok, I am putting DD to bed and will work-on finishing my newest torture device!!

So far so good today.

Went for a run in the park around 10 am, did my 3 miles, burned 375cals, then came home and jumped on the elliptical for 10 minutes to bring it up to 500 cal burned.

Food is going well, breakfast I had protein pancakes, lunch was wax bean soup, dinner will be vegetable wrap with feta cheese. Also had fruits with every meal, it will be around 1500 cals.

Tomorrow morning I will be using the elliptical for my morning exercise!! I have to convince hubby first to look at it as the L side seems to rattle, I probably didn't tighten a screw tight enough.

That's it for now.

The elliptical this morning totally kicked my butt!! I put it on one of the pre-programmed weight loss programs it was only 30 minutes and it only went up to level 7 but I was totally spent by the end!! My HRM is messing with me, I think the battery is low because it kept measuring a heart-rate of 66 and 77 when I hardly could catch my breath. I have to buy some new batteries today.

Food is all planned and I will post my menu later.

Weight was so up this morning, not even funny, 148.8. I have no idea how.

Hey Haj
Glad to hear that you were able to get a torture device that you are happy with! LOL
Those pre-programmed thingys are killers huh? I am pretty much a fluffy bunny in that I always just jump on and go. I don't usually choose anything that would cause me more pain! LOL
Menu for the day sounds good.

My menu for today:
Breakfast : Kashi golean protein cereal, kamut cereal, fiber one cereal mixed, 1 c. almond milk, 1 banana
Snack : 1 Fage yogurt, cherry pie filling
Lunch : small salad, tofu loaf
snack: 1 oz low fat cheese, 1 apple
dinner
: asparagus-tomato salad with yogurt dressing, progresso low sodium minestrone soup, 1 c. blueberries
Come to 1483 cals

The plan is to get home and run another 1-1.5 mi on the treadmill. We will see how I will be able to stick to that!! LOL
I need to do some kind of strenghtraining, I am pulling my legs with that one. Just gotta do it I guess.

My weigh-in is now Wed. I promised myself not to look until then as today's peak was a disaster. I don't want to lose focus.

I DID IT.
I STUCK TO MY PLAN AND RAN MY 2 MILES AFTER WORK.

So I am happy and tired at the same time. Then I cooked a turnip casserole for Wed & Thurs.
I still have to work on my second job tonight. Not really looking forward to it, but it has to be done.
Tomorrow I need to get up at 4.50am to get my 45 min elliptical in and then be at work by 6.30am. I don't think I am doing anything else after work!! LOL
