Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Awesome job!

Isn't it weird at times when we are tempted not to follow thru, we have a hard time remembering just how good it feel to do the right thing?

Get some sleep tonight- looks like an early day for you tomorrow. Here's hoping the scale treats you nicely. :blush5:

Getting up in the morning was not so bad today, I anticipated it to be harder.
Got 40 min on the elliptical, started out with one of the pre-programmed exercises and switched over after 15 min the just plain level 5.
I worked really hard, was swimming in sweat by the time I was done.

I really don't think I will have the steam to run tonight, but we will see.

Menu for the day. Not so detailed as I keep it detailed on babyfit.com
Breakfast: WW bagel, apple butter, peach, coffee
snack: cottage cheese with cherry pie filling
Lunch : tofu loaf, salad, grapes
Snack: 1 oz low fat cheese, 1/2 mango
dinner : hard boiled egg, 2 slices of bread, ff cream cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, almonds..and I can't remember what else.

Comes to 1512 cals

Burned about 350-400 cals in the morning, not accurate as the HRM is messing with me and I didn't get batteries yet.

here is to a good week!!

ETA : weigh in is tomorrow, I am exited. Of course I took a peak today and saw a slightly lower number than my ticker says, hopefully be a little lower by tomorrow!!! Would be nice under 147.

the 6 week challenge we started at work is in its second week now, official weigh in tomorrow. I started from 149, last week 148.6 and hoping to be around 147 by tomorrow. Then I think it will be happy with 1 lb loss a week, so I am looking to finish at around 143 or so by the end of August.

Weigh in day. 147 even. I was hoping for 146.8 but I am happy, started from 149 two weeks ago, so I am doing well.

Today the elliptical exercise was not as intense. I only put it to level 4 as I felt that is all I can handle. I still did a good exercise but I doubt I burned as much calories as I did the last two days.
My hrm is still not fixed, I finally took it apart last night and see what kind of battery I need so I can buy it today.

menu will be today:

Breakfast : oat bran cereal, banana
Snack: celery with p.butter
Lunch: turnip casserole, quorn chicken, steamed broccoli, grapes
Snack: mango, quaker snack
Dinner : BLT (mmm), apple, raspberry shake, almonds
Comes to 1480 cals.

I probably burned around 300 this morning or a little less. Approx. 500 cal deficit for the day.

Mornin' girl!

Great attitude with the scale- I need to learn from you. 8)

So, how many at work are doing the challenge? Is there a reward at the end? Sounds like great motivation.

End of the work week, I knew this was going to happen. I couldn't get myself out of bed for my morning 45 min elliptical, so I will do it after work.
Too bad official weigh in was not today, I was 146.4 this morning. Bad I know looking at the scale all the time!! :puke:

Yarm: the challenge at work is just two of us. I really did the challenge for my co-worker who has a lot more to lose than I do and we cheer each other on with exercise/food/recipes and such. Really doesn't have a reward at the end (except the loss of lbs) so it is kind of not an official challenge. I wanted to help her be aware of what calorie counting meant, what BMR is, how important water is and protein, fiber...etc. She really did get a hang of it and this is our second challenge. Since the start of the first one she lost 40 lbs!! I am so proud of her!! And it is a great satisfaction that I was able to help somebody with the knowledge I gathered from here and online in the past 2-3 years.

Menu today : cereal with almond milk and banana for breakfast
Snack : fage yogurt with sugar free jelly
lunch : turnip casserole, sauteed zucchini (with fresh parsley and oregano, yumm), quorn chicken, peach
snack: english muffin with cream cheese and jelly
dinner: ??? I know I made cucumber salad last night but that is only a measly 60 cals so I have to figure something out for dinner. It might have a p.butter sandwich!!

One of our co-worker is bringing all kinds of goodies from his garden so my menu is really depending on that. last night I got cucumbers, zucchini, and green beans from him, so I made a cucumber salad, sauteed half the zucchini and have no idea what I will do with the green beans. There is nothing better than fresh vegetables!! Sometimes I just like to sautee them with some garlic powder, fresh herbs if I have any and some black pepper... I eat them as main meals even.

I did not take measurements this time around but I feel the difference in my clothing already. It is only about 2.6 lbs I lost but it feels a lot more depending which pants I am wearing!!! Even my non-complimentary hubby said my belly area looked smaller!! (this is big, he never ever compliments)

Ok, I did it!!!
I used the elliptical for 40 min. Half- way I noticed that it seemed to have gotten a lot harder. Sure enough the batteries ran out (I don't have an adapter yet) and there was no way of adjusting the intensitity on it. I didn't give up though, I just worked pretty hard, and did finish my 40 min. Burned about 375 cals according to my HRM.
I went a little overboard with snacks tonight. Had some nice trail mix and instead of eating 1/4 cup as I was supposed to I think I came to closer to a 3/4 cup..:blush5: Ok, not the end of the world, today was probably a break even day which I am ok with .

Interestingly when I watch what I eat and shoot for a certain calorie amount, I feel a lot better than when I was stuffing my face like there was no tomorrow. I constantly felt bloated and heavy now I feel light and energetic.

I am so determined again to lose the weight, I think I will succeed again!!! Slower than last time but i will succeed!! It really does not feel like a diet, I feel totally satisfied with the amount of food I am eating, the variety is great and I don't feel like I am starving all day. This is definetely something I can keep up with for a longer period of time. Of course I don't expect miracles and drop 3-4 lbs a week. I will be very happy with 0.5-1 lb weight loss /week.
gotta run, DD's bedtime.
Boy I am so happy I made it back here and took a hold of myself before it was too late!!

Great job getting that exercise in, even if later than planned!

You heard certainly seems to be in the right place- lets hope its contagious!

Woke up, was again 147 lbs this morning, but i have to say I FEEL LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS!!!

I am in a 100% control!! I feel great, today is rest day as far as exercise goes, originally Sat. was going to be rest day but the battery situation kind of changed that. I might just do some of my work-out DVDs tonight, we'll see.
I noticed it in the past, if I skip exercising for about 4-5 days in a row, I start feeling like a truck ran over me, tired, no energy, even my mood seems to be worse. When I exercise regularly i feel so much better. Even if i don't feel like exercising but push myself to do it!!

No plans for the weekend besides grocery shopping. I need to look up some recipes to give me some ideas for next week's menu.

gotta run
Hajni

You are the NEW superhero: (feel like a) MILLION DOLLAR WOMAN!

Enjoy your weekend. I have to get some groceries in too sometime this weekend myself.

Still here , still here.

Major set-back this week, lyme acting up even after taking all the medications. One of my side effects is insomnia, I am averaging 2 hrs of sleep every night and I am beyond exhaustion.
I did exercise a couple of days this week, but surely not keeping up with it.

Then what happened I don't know: I was 149.4 this wednesday, I still stuck to my calories in fact I probably ate less than should have as there is a bug going on at work which I think I have and causes extreme nausea and throwing up.
By today I am back to 147 as of this morning. So I didn't change my ticker to show the higher lbs, we'll see what next Wed. brings.

But if this insomnia not clearing up soon I have to go back to the drs, I can absolutely not function this way.

You poor thing! I've never had insomnia, but have had sleeping issues over the past year and now what it's like not to get enough sleep.

I hope you mend soon! Keep your chin up, and check with the doctor if things dont improve!

*hugs*

Hey There friend!! Good to see your still plugging hard after the weight loss, GREAT JOB!! Sorry your having some sleep issues lately, that really can throw your whole body into a frenzy that's for sure! YOU NEED SLEEP, so I hope your able to get that under control and soon.

Great job getting the exercise in, even if your feeling under the weather, but try not to over do it, or you might just end up sabotaging yourself instead.

I'm sure in no time you will make your goal weight, I can feel it!! And I can't wait until you post that you go to it!! GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND, and I hope you get some great sleep too.
Take Care and BIG HUGS!
Kim

Heya Haj, I feel your pain. I've had insomnia issues in the past, so I definitely know what it's like to go without sleep. Talk about feeling like a truck ran over you. And I'm sure the stomach bug hasn't helped either.

Hope you feel better soon!

:gnorsi:

Hey
I am sure that your wacky weight fluctuations have everything to do with your getting little to no sleep. I know that on the weekends my scale tends to not be so friendly to me if I get less than 5 hours.
Just get yourself straightened out and the weight will come along too.

Hi Yarm, Kim, Maverick, Bella!!!
Thank you so much for visiting!!!

On Friday I had to leave work early I was totally useless, I couldn't even concentrate. Came home, took a 2 hr nap and felt better. All my lyme disease symptoms are back, the hot flushes, chills, itching, neck stiffness, the insomnia, nausea, headache...
On Saturday I felt my heart is going to leave my chest. My pulse was so high, I felt breathless and I spent the whole day in bed, although didn't sleep. Definetely calling the dr on Monday.

So far this morning I feel better, I managed to sleep 3.5 hrs last night which is almost double of what I have been getting.
I was told to take Benadryl as it makes wonders... I am going to try that tonight.

On the positive notes, although I have not used either of my torture machines since like Tue. I woke up at 146 this morning, mostly due to the nausea I am sure. I don't even remember eating yesterday besides having breakfast.

Ladies, Thank you for all your encouraging words!!! It means so much too me!!! I am confident I am going to make my goal, just a little set-back right now, a slow down that's all!!!
I will be back to normal in no time and these lbs will just go!!!

Hajni

Thanx for checking in'.

Do let us know what the doctor says. You should not have to feel so miserable like that.

Please do make sure you get into the doc, even if you start to feel better.
No one should have to suffer that way.
Take care.

Hi Ladies,

Update: Called the drs. office yesterday of course my dr was out. Talked with a nurse who said lyme disease symptoms are very common to linger way after the medication is finished.(for 6-8 weeks!!! :puke:) She will talk to the dr today and get back to me. Also they might put me on another round of antibiotics. (4 more weeks)
I took some sleeping pills last night even that I hate them. They always give me a groggy head and feel so tired after I get up. Sure enough that's what happened this morning, feel like my head is under water and I have a hard time keeping my eyes open (took the pill last night at 8 pm)
Of course, no exercise for me and I am not watching what I eat either, I just focus on making through my day.
I really hope I will get a relief from this soon.
