AWhat an awesome picture.....makes me want to eat right and healthy!! LOVE IT!!! :hurray:

Congrats on keeping up on the exercise...you make me want to keep kicking my own tushy!! :)

A:D Well, I couldn't get to the gym today because it closes early on a Saturday boohissssss.

Its exactly a week till my diet month-versary... I am going to be ridiculously superhealthy cos I really want to reach a 10 pounds loss at the end of it- So that's another 3 pounds.

I AM BANNING MYSELF FROM THE COMPUTER FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS!!!!!!

I am wandering to the computer all the time even when I have nothing in particular to do on it. I have to have a computer detox. Its my kids summer holidays, and I should be giving my time to them, not the computer.

I will be back on Wednesday to see how everyone's doing xxx

Thats so lovely that you are giving the internet a skip for a few days to spend some quality time with your kiddies, i know what you mean, the interent can take up so much time its scary :/

Goodluck eating good honey, i know you got this:) xoxo

AGood for you...I know I am an internet junkie...and it can be so easy to get sucked in to hours and hours.....your such a great mum....your little ones are very lucky!!

Wishing the best for healthy eating and butt kicking work outs :)

AThanks :)

I actually really went out for three days running :)

The first week of the August challenge hasn't really gone to plan. I've been eating really healthily, with just a few baddies, and I have only lost a pound. Humph. Hoping that next weeks loss will make up for it, as it sometimes does.

I am going to aim for three 1000 calorie days over the coming week, and 4 1300 calorie days. I know that's low, but I need it. If starvation mode is only caused by loss of muscle mass, and it is possible to build and maintain muscle in a calorie deficit, then there is no reason that my metabolism will go down because of it. I really really really want to lose 16 pounds of fat in the next 8 weeks, and I know it will be harder to reach the 2 pound a week mark when I am close to being a healthy bmi, which is why I want to get it kicked off to a good start.

I am due another personal consultation at the gym, so I think I will book it for two weeks time, and work my arse off until then to build as much muscle as possible, and get as healthy as possible. Maybe it will turn out that I have put on a few pounds of muscle (which burns 150 calories a day without doing anything). That would be fab. I don't mind getting more muscley than I eventually want to be (although that's most probably not possible). I am only on a four month contract (another 3 months to go), so it will just waste away after then.

There is a girl on here who has done brilliantly... Her name is shawnnam, she's in the before and afters, and I read her diary.... Exercise and weight lifting were her priorities. She reached the half way mark, and had a really bad time when she split up with her boyfriend and didn't really try with the diet any more... But she just carried on losing weight without even trying... Her increased muscle mass probably helped a lot with that. You should see her before and afters..... WOW!!!!

Women only have a certain amount of muscle they can gain anyway, because they don't have enough testosterone to bulk up. So I doubt however hard I try I will end up looking like Frank Bruno, or whoever is a good boxer this decade lol.

It just makes sense to me- If I can gain 6 pound of muscle in the next few months (which is really the highest possible without a calorie slurpus), when I go back to uni I will be burning and extra 300 calories a day (2100 a week=1/2 pound :) ) without lifting a finger. I think I will do 50 sit ups, and 24 barbell squats in the morning, and ride my bike to uni, which will help maintain it.

ACHOCOLATE ALERT! CHOCOLATE ALERT! CHOCOLATE ALERT!!!

I THINK I NEED SOME CHOCOLATE.

Maybe I should. It has been a while.

Edit-----
Chocolate has been done. Wine has been done. I am feeling a bit down about something. But tomo I will kick some diet arse. Fact.

Heya, as long as you have it in little amounts, a treat of chocolate isnt that bad really :) Especially if you have dark chocolate!! :) Hope you are feeling a bit better now about what was getting you 'down'! <3 Good luck tommorow! xXx

A:iagree: :iagree: :iagree: I broke down yesterday and had a snickers bar....so I totally understand!! At my heaviest I would eat 3 candy bars a day....wow...that is just sick!! :(

But I love your comparison pic..I have a similar one printed out and hanging on my desk at work...as a daily reminder to do it right and it will all work out!!

Be proud of your pound.....you worked hard for it :grouphug:

AHiya FlawedDesign :) thanks! Well, I mainly ate milk chocolate, but after you said that I went back to the naughty chocolate box and ate two darks chocolates for luck :rotflmao: I was probably being over sensitive... I don't use twitter, but I joined the other day, and one of my friends had wrote some comments that I think were directed at me, three years ago! And it just upset me a bit. But it was agggggeeeessss ago, so I shouldn't worry too much. :nopity:

Princess If you haven't checked out her before and afters yet, here's the link.... http://weight-loss.fitness.com/t/49107/final-before-and-after-171-4-to-124-2-pounds I have already shared it ages ago actually- its that gob-smacking!

Tete Ahhh... I can top your 3 candy bars, I used two eat two fresh cream apple danishes a day at one stage lol. That's a total of about a thousand calories lol. I think we probably all have a problem in controlling our potions of baddies in one way or another. I guess I put on the weight I regained slowly at a pound a week, so if I lose it at that rate I will still get to my goal :) Better than staying the same.

Had a rest day at the gym today, mainly because of a slight hangover. Got stop-smoking pills from the doctor (Yay!), and have had the hungries. I have eaten lots more carbs than usual, but with a hangover, that's all that seems to be hitting the spot unfortunately. Will start counting calories again tomo :)

Food
Muesli
butternut squash and lentil salad
Porridge with jam

4 coffees
can of sugary drink

wow, she looks amazing, I hope I will end up looking like her!

I'm starting to get over not eating any sweets. I am having lots of coffee, though, like you! lol

Your food shop looks like mine! Felt so nice putting it all away, so healthy! Shawnna did so, so well. Huge inspiration for me as well. Such a shame that I lost 40lbs and then put it all on again..But guess we can only keep trying!! Keep up the great work, peach xx

AKimmyLuna Coffeecoffeecoffeeeeeeeee :) Do you think you could ever give it up? Will check if you've got a diary.

Sunflower I know, it does feel great putting super healthy shopping away :) .I know how ya feel, I had put on 5 stone since my skinniest just before I joined the forum. It is shit in a way, but think of how much bigger we would be if we hadn't gone on that first diet and lost all that weight.

I weighed myself in Boots (the chemist) today. I like going out just to weigh myself. It feels like more of an event. According to the boots scale I am not 13 stone 3 (as I thought I was), but 13 stone 7 :( It did put my fat percentage at 31% fat, a loss less than last months 39%, but fat calculations can be plus or minus 5% out, so I don't knooooow. I have lost an inch off everywhere tho. I DONT LIKE STUPID SCALES!!!!

Food
Lots of grapes
50g nuts and dried fruit
Carrot and coriander soup
2 eggs on 2 multigrain toast
small fruit salad.

Exercise
20 minutes on bike.

edit-----
Also had more nuts in the evening, and a slice of jam and bread.... Think there may have been something else as well, but I can't remember it for the life of me.

Oh, I don't plan on giving up coffee altogether, but I want to cut back to no more than one coffee a day. Starting today. I do have a journal myself labeled kimmyluna's weight loss diary 1.7. And I've been doing really good not to have any soda. I haven't had the motivation lately to do my walks, though. Got up this morning to do it, but didn't actually feel like doing it. I SO want to get an aerobic step! You burn 3 or 4 times more calories doing step aerobics than walking for the same amount of time! So, I was like, why bother?

AI didn't go to the gym again today as well eeek. I think that the most important thing with exercise is getting into a habit- Y'know, even if you are only doing 5 minutes of exercise every day, do it every day without fail. 5 minutes is better than nothing!

I took my first stop smoking pill (Champix) this morning. You start off on a low dose and gradually increase it for the second week when your supposed to give up smoking. I think I'm going to be one of the unlucky people who is a complete wreck while taking it. I can't wait to quit tho :)

Food
1/2 cantaloupe melon
porridge
big lamb roast dinner
3 glasses of wine
2 cadbury's crream eggs (I know :()

edit-----
And bowl of muesli.

AYou are amazing....you are trying to lose weight....stop coffee and stop smoking!! OMG....that is crazy impressive!!

You are so right about this and we all need to thing is small steps...because they lead to big leaps....thanks so much for the reminder!! Hugs to you for that!! Now get to the gym...or go for a walk :)

See you are on ze vino! I'm bad for drinking as well. One glass is never enough!! Also, I smoke. We just moved to roll-ups so saving £30 a week on those which is awesome. Smoking less as well because it's the effort of rolling one if you want one! So hard to quit though--never tried any of the pills or gum..will see how you get on and then have a look!! Good luck!
