General hysterical diet related rambling: From Flab to Fab.

What a great idea...I love the whole outfit! I should do this for my cruise mini goal in Nov....I am hoping to be 175 by then. Find a sassy "sailing away" outfit!

Thanks! I'm not completely sure on the shoes... but its so hard to find something flat and smart-ish. And I just went to buy the skirt, but its vintage, boohooo, and its only available in a uk6 :( Never mind.

Go to polyvore.com its amazing! I have already flown its flag a couple of times on here, its an amazing website with clothes from every single shop and designer, so if you want a green jumper for £30, you can search by budget and stuff. And shops. And you can play around on it for ages trying to find the things that work the best.

So were those print-outs from those crazy looking contraptions you see at the pharmacist? Those things scare the bujeebuz out of me... the thought of weighing myself in public, even though no one would see the weight... I don't know. I just can't do it. I don't want people to know that I'm even focusing on it, you know?

Meanwhile, YAHOO! Haha - it is so funny that the scales tell you off in the first place, but it must be SO cool to get to the point where they aren't doing that anymore! Seriously, it won't be long before you get to the ideal!

And I LOVE the outfit. Truly, I love love love it. The skirt is to die for. Those skirts never work for me though - where they are gathered from the waist - it just poofs out almost horizontally and makes me look a thousand times bigger. I figure that's why they only ever make them in smaller sizes, haha. But the whole concept - the patterns, the colours, it's awesome. And I love your idea about that being an incentive - to buy it, and then when you fit into it, that means you are ready. :) Wicked-bad.

The shoes are really nice :) If you can't find anything like them, just some little black flats would work too... I always seem to go crazy over little red shoes though, so that's what I'd do!

:D Glad you like it!!! I would LOVE red shoes, but my feet are mahoosively big (UK 9 EU 42), and I don't want to draw too much attention to them! I like wide shoes with horizontal detailing to make them look less long. My toes look like twiglets. My second toe is the same length as my little finger! Now I have finished slagging off my feet, I will start slagging off myself! As I know I am about to eat chocolate cake. I have saved my calories up for today, I had satsumas for breakfast on purpose. So now, at half past 11, I am up to only 904 calories for the day, and I'm about to have 400 calories of cake. I mean, I've still done okay, but I am a bit pissed off that I am not saying NO to myself. Its not my fault her cakes are so nice. I know it will just be today.

I love the security guard who is always plotted up by the weighing machine, he is lovely :) So he stops me from being nervy that people are peeping over my shoulder with shocked faces.

Food
3 satsumas 108
3 chinese marinated teeny turkey steaks 170
320 cals, with added prawns and onion, SO SO LOVELY!
Chocolate fudge cake, one sqare inch with a tablespoon of cream 400ish
=1304

Exercise
15 minute workout
40 minutes walking

You planned for the chocolate cake. I know you did, you know you did. So it's fine. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Just ate another slice of the chocolate cake with cream (about twice the size of the first one, so about 800 calories). That, and guilt are lying heavily in my stomach. I feel like SUCH AN IDIOT for blathering on about how strong i feel.

I am banning gifts of cake.

Thanks! Well, I'm enjoying this feeling while it lasts lol, The last time I felt like this I was in crisis a couple of weeks later.

As long as your staying within your calorie allowances, and not having a burger more than twice a week you'll be fiiiiiine, your doing fantastically :)

I'm very almost a size 14 now, according to my measurements, so I am going to buy myself a nice interview outfit (for the princes trust) in a size 12. When it fits, I am going to get in touch with them. I have been busy making moodboards. I think its quite an English style, so everyone will probably hate it, but heres what I have in mind (will have to find a look-likey handbag though as its $2410).

I'm going to make some similar moodboards for a target weight clubbing outfit, and a casual one later.

I love the skirt and top, that is a nice hand bag, but I don't carry a hand bag, as close as I get to carrying a hand bag is when I go to the Pool, lol.:seeya:

Ah, Sharon, Sharon, Sharon (that's her name, right?). The cake sounds incredible though... Don't beat yourself up too much, lovely. You have been INSANE amounts of good for so many days! For so long! One glitch reminds us all that you are human.

Have you talked to your magnificent cake lady about how you are trying to lose weight? I certainly would not be able to be in the same house as a chocolate fudge cake without devouring the whole thing...

Don't beat yourself up too much- it's counterproductive beyond a certain point. Yes, have a talk to the cake lady (I'm going to be even lazier than Joh- I can't remember her name, she makes cakes and is female). Perhaps ask her if she knows any lower calorie alternatives, whether she can bring cakes in portions (and give some of those portions to your kids immediately or set them aside clearly labelled for your kids)? It's up to you and how you can handle it- these are just some alternatives to getting rid of the weekly ritual entirely.

HOw nice for a better BMI!Well done!
You are doing so good on your diet its not gonna take you back a piece of the cake.
Really you are doing so good!
Are u taking photos of yourself?its really fun to see the differences while loosing!

I ate a chocolate Classis ice cream yesterday just because I wanted to, it was my second ice cream in this summer! And last summer I ate... TOO MANY. Well, the ice cream didnt stop me losing weight and the scale showed the lowest reading this morning! And I bet the ice cream included over 500 cals...

How have you been today?? :)

And yes, congrats for the lower BMI! Are you as tall as I am?? 1.75cm?

:) Thanks. Yep, I'm 175 when standing properly upright, 174 when standing normally. Maybe you could try having a solero Eerika, they smallish berry ones are only 99 calories. And they are lovely.

Do you know what? I am GLAD I ate that cake, as I woke up this morning feeling physically awful. So sluggish and hangovery. I can still barely even think. And no exercise is happening any time soon. I used to feel like this every morning, and I had forgotten how much better I feel.

There is still some cake downstairs, but I'm not going to touch it.

I don't know if anyone has seen the film "Matilda", where a fat boy is made to eat an enormous chocolate cake in front of the whole school, and he was picking it up with his hands and pushing it into his mouth?
I still feel a bit like that about it.

I am gonna go and buy myself some jogging clothes now.... Hopefully I'll feel up for a jog outside later. If not, I am going to get started tomorrow. Gods help me.

Oh, I should definitely try next time a Solero! :)

Well we are almost in the same readings then, you have lost few kilos more than I have? Cool!! :)

And what a great idea of getting a new jogging clothes! I LIKE THAT! I like more going for jogg cos I have a new pair of trousers now! Haha :D

I'm sorry to hear you felt awful this morning. :( On the other hand, this is what I mean by my body teaching me a lesson. Keeps you away from that kind of food in the long run.

And new workout clothes are an excellent motivation :)

:) Love the idea of new a work out outfit...I got one this weekend..I didn't try it on in the store...the XL pants fit a little loose...but the XL shirt is tight in the "girls' and my belly of course..but I am not going to return it...I am just going to keep trying it on until it looks good!

Good idea about a new jogging outfit, hope you find something you like. Too hot here to even think about exercise, my 4 mile hike was torture, big sweaty torture :D

:) New workout clothes do help! Thats funny tetm, I didn't try mine on either. I picked a size 14, knowing they'd be a bit too small, but I thought its extra motivation :D

Go on Vick! I salute you!!!! I had big sweaty torture today, but it was only for a mile, slowly. I couldn't have done any more!

I remember someone on the previous page said something about before and after pics, I have some 3 weeks ago on here. Since then I've lost an inch off my hips, and 3/4 inch off my waist, so the difference isn't noticable, but I will stick a pic of me three weeks ago on the left of my new workout clothes. Ps... I am holding my stomach in a bit in the workout clothes pic, as the size 14 really is very tight lol. I tend to naturally hold my stomach in now anyway. After having my daughter even doing that was impossible though, she was so big that my stomach muscles were fucked. You can see my dreaded eyebags are making more of an appearance as I am getting slimmer. I will book myself in to get fat injected into them next month tomorrow. Arrgghh, i HATE EM!

So..... the jog did NOT work out! At all! At first I paced about a bit indoors. The streets are always so busy and I was really scared! My bf practically pushed me out the front door! So, I started running. For about 15 seconds. Where my thighs rub together at the top, my shorts were riding up like kniockers, and I was so busy trying to breathe my stomach in, and stop my top from riding up, that I stopped. There were some blokes on a balcony when I ran past, and I didn't want to walk back again (!) so I cut round the back of some flats, and climbed over 2 walls to drop into my back garden. So my entire trip out was about 40 seconds  When I jumped over the fence I saw a proper jogger run by (the first I have ever seen round here actually), I couldn't bear to look in his direction as I was chickening out :)

I realised I needed some an onion so I walked a minute to the corner shop to get one. In my jogging clothes. I was SO uncomfortable standing in the brightly lit shop all exposed. I just felt so nervy. Then I ran about half a minute back to my house, less for the exercise, more so my tummy bulge and thighs wouldn't be on display for a moment more than necessary. :D

So, tomorrow, I will be going to get more jogging clothes lol, ones that are baggy. And the size 14's can wait till Im actually a size 14. I am not going to proudly display any more clothes size labels till I've actually worn them out without them ripping, rupturing or riding up.

Food
fruit n fibre with whole milk 382
lamb curry with basmati rice 689
5 coffees 125
2 small satsumas 50
=1247

Exercise
36 seconds jogging- 1/2 a calorie

Do you have a park anywhere nearby? They're usually quieter. I run for a short distance then briskly walk then run again. May make your thighs a bit easier to handle (for me it's my knees that are the potential worry, as I'm sure you know)

Also, need advice. How do you convert recipes for 4-6 so they serve 1-2? I don't have very many dinners left before I leave and don't want to eat the same thing every night for the rest of the time I'm here. But the "serves 1" or "serves 2" section on BBC Good Food (and Taste) is pretty pitiful, and I'm not finding a lot elsewhere (or much in the way of guidance as to how to convert recipes).
