General hysterical diet related rambling: From Flab to Fab.

Decided I am going to have a small bowl of cornflakes with sugar. Night-time cereal is one of the habbits I found the hardest to break. I hope I'm not setting myself up for a fall! I'm allowing myself 320 calories worth, whatever that is, to bring me up to 1353.
 
See how you go. I find rules go out the window a bit when I'm ill- although when I'm really ill I tend to undereat, almost no matter what I choose.

When I am not sick at my stomach, but feel lousy and have a sore throat I send for 7up and Jalapeno Cheetos "crunchy" I am better by the next day. I under eat too when I am sick. I haven't been sick with a bad flu for a long time though. :waving:
 
I've never understood you cereal people. Yes, that's right. 'You cereal people'. What is so yummy about it?

Meanwhile, did you enjoy it? It's great that you were so conscious of it and made the decision based on the calories you had. How much did you get to have for 320cal? Seems a lot for a bowl of cereal! :)
 
Hi AnnaGail :D I turn to Jalepeno's when I am feeling shitty and hungover as well, but mine are usually on pizza :) And sugary drinks are a must as well, but I have coke. Or, rather, used to!

I just LOVE cereal! What I have wet dreams about, is Jordan's strawberry country crisp :)

My mother was the same. My nan used to buy us honey nut loops when she came round every Tuesday, but my mother would always eat them all in one sitting that night. So we never got to have any, but we did get whatever free sticker or toy was inside the pack lol. Maybe that's what it is, cereal = happy feeling of free gift. Hmmmm. What happened to free gifts in the boxes anyway? And the tokens you could cut off weetabix packets for free books? I used to love my weetabix fact books. Read them over and over actually.

I didn't feel like eating at all, but I counted every gram, and millilitre so it added up to exactly 320 calories, then once i had had a spoonful I shovelled the rest of it (surprisingly little) into my gob like a starving person, who was starved. Then, I ate another bowl, and to hell with the calorie counting. Ooops.

Cornflakes and garlic bread are two of the highest GI foods in existance, and yesterday my boyfriend bought the cornflakes, and now I am being tortured by the smell of garlic bread. Arrggghhh.

I'm feeling loads better now, but Charlie has been sick 3 times already in the last 4 hours bless him :( And it was a lot of sick. He still seems fairly happy tho, you wouldn't think he was ill. I've just got him into a new school, which will be loads better for him. The school he goes to right now isn't specialised enough. And, the added bonus of his new school, is that its a couple of miles away so he will get the school bus every morning, which is nice, as he is obsessed with transport, and loves buses, and it'll also be nice in the winter/rain not to have to trudge to school every morning. Not good on the exercise front tho lol.

Other news is.... I always think I am going to win stuff. The lottery etc... Last time I thought I was going to win something, I did (a £1000 pound rug in a tiebreaker competition which is AMAZING). I have just entered a competition for a £10000 kitchen which closed today, and I got a personal (ie. not mass) email back addressed "Dear Ruth", saying they would be in touch with me after the competition closes.... which makes me think I am on a shortlist. Hopefully. You had to give your favourite recipe, and the 3 best ones will have to have a master-chef style cook off, and the best one wins the new kitchen. As you all know, my fridge would only be big enough for a single person, plus only two hobs on my cooker work, plus two doors have fallen off my decrepid units. Plus I love cooking so much, and no-one will love a new kitchen more than me! I gave a recipe for my lamb curry, which is actually MY lamb curry recipe I made up myself :) And a spicy Indian rice which i added some ingredients from Joh's wedding rice too, so it is an original recipe. Haven't actually tried it with coconut and pistachhios, but I'm sure its lovely. Anyway, I have checked my emails about 15 times today. I went to the semi-finals in a spam recipe competition that was similar, the prize was a family holiday in Hawaii, It went by public vote tho. I didn't find out till afterwards, I saw an email from Spam, which was probably letting me know it had gone to vote, but I thought it was spam lol. I could have voted for myself a zillion times (and I bloody would have done lol). Fingers crossed. I really believe I'm going to win it, its so stupid. I'm such a dreamer. Arrggghhhh. pS. If i do win, because I semi-plagiarised Descionmakers's recipe, I will send her/you (refering to Joh lol) some kitchen related goodies :)

P.S. The coconut is awesome. If you want to make it extra special, get some fresh coconut, which you can buy frozen in packets at an asian supermarket, and toast it first. mmmm... The toasting of everything is important! The nuts, the sultanas (though I think you don't like them?), the spices... :) YAY!

My 15 year old is a cereal addict too...thank heavens the hubster is the Milk Man...lol..no he really is...he drives truck for a large Dairy...haha.

Kudos on the contest..I hope you win!!!...how sweet would a new fancy smacny kitchen be!

I have struggled a bit yesterday evening and today. But the cornflakes are now all gone, thank ye gods for that! I had two bowls of them watching desperate housewives last night, and a large bowl this morning. No weighing, no nothing. I had Fuckit moments. The shopping is being delivered today, so hopefully no more of them moments this week. I feel really shitty in general, my brains still sleeping and I don't feel like doing anything. Even gettig dressed, I m still in my pj's at 1 in the afternoon. The kids are being babysat tonight, I was going to spend the evening and tomorrow morning decorating, but, I just can't be bothered. My head is a fog.

Am a bit more awake now :) Just spent ages wallpapering my dining room with lining paper, but where i didn't sand down the plaster properly it looked awful, so I have just pulled it all down again lol. Gonna get it plastered professionally I think.

I feel so dirty and horrible, my house is a shit pit, and I am a bit grumpy. I'm going to have a mammoth cleaning sesh now, and then have a nice long bath, put on clean clothes and clean sheets.
 
hope the grumpiness is getting better...its sucks being in a mood! I know...I know..o boy do I know!! ;)
 
Oh dear... Fuckit moments... I had some of those today... think I'll avoid weighing myself tomorrow morning. Sounds like your decorating is burning a bunch of cals though...

Cheer up the house work will be there tomorrow, I never get finished with house cleaning! Want to hear something "funny", I wanted to shampoo my living room carpet. So yesterday I dump 4 gallon of water and 20 ozs of carpet cleaner, just to fine out my Hoover wet & dry Vac would not suck up the water, lol. The water and the cleaner dried on my carpet. But on the brighter side it looks good and smells better. My windows in the living room are clean and my curtains are clean, but the rest of the house, Dirty! :rotflmao:

I have company coming tomorrow and my living room will match the rest of the house again.:smilielol5: You may need a small piece of Choc. cake!! LOL

Ahem.

If this a a diet confessional box, I wouldn't have to say Hail mary's, I might be given a bloody mary to drink tho. Yesterday, was the "Day of The Hangover".

I didn't do any decorating (other than the wallpaper I put up and pulled down again), watched the Haye fight with my bf on telly, whilst drinking a small bottle of vodka. Decided it would be a great idea to go out (at midnight), and we proceeded to get completely hammered. The parts of the night I can remember were really good. Except one. A bloke came up to me and wiped his foot on my leg. The sole of his shoe, which was filthy. And I punched him in the face. It was just an automatic reaction, I didn't even think about it. Have never punched anyone except from fights with my brother when I was a kid. I feel a bit guilty cos I did whack him hard, but, who the fuck purposely wipes their foot on your thigh?

I did do a few hours cleaning the other day, so at least half the house is clean and tidy and organised!

So, the diet..... Hmmmmmm. I've had around 20 shots of vodka, kebab, and a dominos pizza, and chocolate, and cheese on toast, and copious amounts of cereal. Think I will weigh myself today instead of Wednesday, if I've stayed the same, or gained, that will give me a kick up my backside.

I still have a hangover! I forget that I hardly drink any more, and I over did it big time. I was tipsy after one drink, I actually can't remember anything after walking home, woke up to a floor covered in sick. Don't even remember throwing up. Or going to sleep.

Oh, and I did get a lot of blokes trying to dance with me. Woooooooo! Maybe I'm becoming a bit more fanciable again.

I worked out this morning, dunno how I did it, but I did. And I'm sticking to the diet today. Although I'm not hungry, I am craving naughty foods.

I am sure you'll bounce back from your one night of fun.....we need them or we would all be freaking nutters! They are valuable stress relievers...almost necessity ...haha...see we can spin a night of debauchery in to a positive ...no problem!! :smilielol5:

I'm just glad he didn't punch me back! He was obviously a complete arsehole. My bf wanted to know who did it, but I didn't tell him... otherwise there probably would have been blood and broken limbs involved. I know! I blame watching the boxing just an hour or so before... My fists were clenched watching it..... Hmmmm. I didn't even think about it, I didn't even say anything, my fist just flew onto his cheek of its own accord. I actually stunned myself.

I got mugged about 6 months ago, and I told the bloke who mugged me to "have a nice night"!!!!! This is the sort of person I am. I don't punch people!!!!!!

I didn't weigh myself today.... I would rather be ignorant to my weight for the next couple of days. Today, I've been Good. Very Good.
