From My Couch To A 5K... And Beyond!

Man, where the heck are you?

I've been gone for days and my posts are still right there above.

Hope all is well. :)

I'm here, I'm here!

As you could tell, I was in a downward slump, ended up pissed off at myself, and gained like 6 pounds. With the eating I did, I'm surprised I didn't gain much more! I never hit 160 again... my highest was 156.8. But I'm done being a pouty baby, and I am BACK!

I have gone back to my old ways (the good ones!), and I was 153.8 this morning. I was SOOOO close to the 140's (only 1.9 stinkin' pounds!).... GRR! I can't believe I let it slip away for a bit, but I'm back! And I WILL see the 140's this time!!!!

I moved, I'm teaching summer school, and that's about all that is going on with me! I hope all is well with everyone!!! :D

Hey, glad to see you back to the old habits (the good ones :). Summer vaccation couldn't have come at a better time for me. I backslid a bit and now I have 2 months to just focus on getting back into those good habits. You are so close to the 140s and to new clothes--you're going to make both goals before you know it.

So glad to see you came back Tyly, I've missed you ;)

You didn't backtrack too bad it sounds like... Running will take off those few extra pounds in no time but, you already know that :)

Glad to hear you got thru your move okay and are transisitioning into teaching summer school.

-Sam

Glad that you're back, Tyly. I was thinking about you the other day when I was practicing a 5k. How's the running going for you?

Wow Tyly! Congratulations on all the weight you've lost over the past few months!

Thank you so much! I'm glad to see you are still around! We may disappear for a bit, but we always find our way back! :)

Glad that you're back, Tyly. I was thinking about you the other day when I was practicing a 5k. How's the running going for you?

How flattering! Thanks for thinking of me! :)

I have been jogging in the neighborhood, and crazy me has been going at 6 pm, when it's still like 100* in central Texas! I haven't been doing any big distances for fear of passing out and dying, but I plan to try for longer runs on weekend mornings. I am teaching summer school right now, so I am busy during the only time it's under 100*! Ah!

Doing distance in that kind of heat might not be the best for you. Have you thought about doing some short sprints or something that can help your times, but not kill you with distance?

Glad you're back! Loving your sexy little (oh so little) avatar. Looking sharp!

Glad to see you're still running. I am still waiting for the day I wake up and love running, but I'm still motoring on!

Hey! I'm Anke, and I was looking for other runners so I found you... good thing you're back now :)

I will be watching your progress and rooting for you!

Thank you so much Ankebuzz!

What a crappy inspiration I have become! I'm sorry for not checking in more frequently!

I am happy to report that as of this morning, my ticker is accurate again! Yay! I am back at my lowest weight. I plan to keep going down from here!

Summer school is almost over, thank goodness!

Tomorrow I am going dress shopping for a wedding, and I'm so excited about it! Now that I am comfortable with my body, I can't wait to try dresses on!

Congrats on the low!

Its fun to go shopping and try on all the stuff I would have never thought of trying. I was so excited about buying underwear the other day. It was ridiculous. They weren't anything special or sexy, but buying size medium plain 'ol cotton undies was enough to make me giggle with delight.

I'm definitely enjoying the novelty of trying new things. I bought a dress for a wedding next week. It was nice having options and not having to quickly snatch up the first one that fit!

Have loads of fun!

Great job. Really impressive. So are you going to maintain for a while or still go down a bit. How about the running? Still keeping up with that?

Hey guys!

Lemon, I completely understand! It still baffles me that I can fit into a medium anything! Now I have medium tops, underwear, workout bottoms, etc. I always used my chest size as my excuse to need extra large shirts... well my bra size has stayed the same (THANK GOD! :D ), and mediums fit just fine! I don't think the boobs were the problem!

Trops, the running is still happening, just not in a "competitive" way as I hoped. I was hoping to be working on times for 5Ks, but I seem to be maintaining. At least it's something, right?! :) I keep telling myself that as soon as summer school is over and the beautiful mornings are available to me, I will become the running queen. I live in a great area for running, so I am looking forward to utilizing it. It's just that with the weather here, you only have about a 2 hour time frame in the morning before it gets ridiculously hot!

I am planning on trying to get down to 145. My birthday is August 2, so weighing 145 (or less!) that morning would be a great present to myself!

Sounds really cool. 145 by Aug is so do able. I've been running too, but not too much lately. I did run 5k with an average of 9 min miles last week, but I'm hoping to get it down to 8 min by the end of the summer.

Boot Camp Here We Come!!!

I have never been so proud of James. Here's why:

James: "I'm going to sign up for this."

Me: "What is it?"

He tosses the local paper at me, and in it is an advertisement for "Adventure Boot Camp".

It is a camp held by certified trainers that guarantees to improve endurance, strength, and weight loss. It promises to take inches off your waist, lower your body fat percentage, and improve your posture and overall physical health. It requires you to take dumbbells and a yoga mat, and it has running, obstacle courses, strength training, yoga, etc. It is 6 weeks long, and ends on August 1st... the day before my birthday. They also do before pictures, body measurements, etc., and then they redo it at the end to see the progress made!

I have never seen him take this sort of initiative! He's been doing a great job of taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle, but this was a totally drastic, unexpected move! Oh yeah... did I mention the classes are at 5 AM?!

I got to thinking... what a great way to arrive at my birthday... fresh out of fitness boot camp! That's a great way to start a new age, I think! Boot camp finishes August 1st, my birthday is August 2nd, and I'm off to a great 26. Sooo... I signed up, too! We start together this Monday! We're both really nervous, but we're also really excited! We keep joking that we'll be The Biggest Loser couple. Summer school ends this week, so for this week I'll have to go to boot camp, come home and shower, then go to summer school! I'll be happy to get my workouts done early, and I'm hoping it helps give me energy all day long!

I'm really excited to do this together. I think we'll help keep each other motivated, and I know having him there will make me push myself even harder.

Bring on boot camp!!!!

Tyly, that sounds really great. A little scary, but still great. Good luck. Stick with it and I'm sure that you'll arrive at your birthday looking great and feeling better.

Scary is right! I'm really excited, but at the same time I'm like "what in the heck did I get myself into?!?!?!" It'll be worth it, I'm sure. And I'm glad I'll have James there to help push me along (and vice versa!) :)

Thanks so much for the constant support, friend! :D
