From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Thanks Mystic!
I managed to delete the time from day 202. It was 17:23 for 2 miles.

Day 203 was 17:31 for 2 miles.

255.8 on the scale this morning. That's a 4 day downward trend but I'm still above my low from weeks ago. It is what it is. I want a new low for my doctors visit in 1 week so I am trying to really get my butt in gear.

I'm so glad you're back on track Q. You are almost back to your LW & this glitch won't hurt long term & that's what you're in this for- life. Your doctor can't fail but to be impressed xo Cate.

Thanks Cate!
I didn't weigh this morning, but I did well food wise and did a recovery pace 1.25 miles last night. The plan is a run plus some dabbling with weights tonight.

Pretty easy weightlifting Mystic, but the important thing is that I didn't put it off again.

Day 205
3.1 miles (5K) 29:43
This was a moderate effort and the easiest sub 30 min 5K yet. I have officially surpassed my goal ofa 30 min 5K in the aerobic zone. I rested a couple laps and then ran 2 laps to finish up E's 5K.

Then overhead press, assisted pullup (singular), pec flys, and hammer curls. A nice upper body ease back into things. The pullups did NOT agree with my tendonitis. The curls hurt too, but not as bad so I decided to do a set of ten with 35# dumbbells to see if it made my elbow better or worse. So far it is about the same dull ache it has been between flare ups.

E had her 7 year review this week and I had my 3 month probationary review as well. The results were big raises all around! WooHoo! The probation raise was bigger than the stated possible range in my employment agreement so I guess it is safe to say that they are happy with me. My pay has gone up a little more than 27% in 3 months. CRAZY! Especially when you figure in that the job is more responsibility, but much less taxing than the old one. I can handle budgets and employees who overbill their time. That's cake compared to south Texas or 100-mile pipelines in the summer.

Yay for raises all around! I know money isn´t everything and all that but as you say: it means they´re happy with you and want to keep you. Also: money is extremely useful...

Thanks LaMa! You realize how important money is when you don't have any and I've spent plenty of my life in that state. I'm always going to be practical and cheap. The first thing I did was work out how quickly we could pay off the mortgage in my head.

I splurged a bit last night with some online shopping, but on the whole it's buisness as usual.

252.2 this morning for a new low by 2.2 pounds. I have no doubt I was dehydrated after sleeping in, but so was the last low. That's 3 pounds away from 100 lost since joining WLF and 81 pounds lost since the begining of last year. My average is 1.1 pounds per week during that time. That's also roughly my running career and how long I've been predominantly eating a vegan diet. I'd love to increase that average loss a bit, but I don't think that's feasible or practical at this point. I still have plenty to lose, but I am past the point of rapid loss from reasonable efforts and the margin of error will continue to slim as I do.

:) If I´d consistently lost 1.1 pounds per week since starting my diary here I´d be underweight by now. Stick with this rate of loss and get there the healthy way. You are the perfect example of doing just that, of developing new habits and shaping a new body through a new mind. I want that too!

Congratulations Q & E on the pay rises & the confirmation from your employers that you are valued. I agree with LaMa (as always :) ) 1.1lbs per week fairly consistently, learning along the way, sharing your experiences & insights & also being very supportive along the way is excellent! You are an inspiring member of the WLF community xoxo Cate

LaMa it's been a rollercoaster. I have had rapid losses to offset the regains, but at least it's been a good average pace.

Cate you always say the sweetest things. Thank you for being such a big support for me and the community!

Thanks Jen!

I've decided to stay off the scales until my doctor appointment this week. I'm going to be super good this week and hopefully drop again for the doctor's scale.

Congrats on the new low and the pay raise.

But the reality is, I only posted here to ask to borrow some money. What do you say Rockefeller? Is 50 grand doable?

Seriously, you'll crack that 250 mark any day now and then you can concentrate on sticking the landing at 198.

Thanks Mystic!
Thanks Vee!
I'll have to post date that check a bit Vee.

So I haven't been around much lately which of course means that I have been less than stellar in my weightloss pursuits. I'm still on that run streak and I've started a garden which will mean more exercise and hopefully veggies. I'll be counting calories and measuring bf daily. I have not decided on weighins yet. I will also report on any alcohol consumption in quantified detail here.

I measured 24.2 and 25.7 percent bf the last 2 mornings. That's better than I expected. Hopefully it has some degree of accuracy. I will try to post every day here.

On the monitor, the best that can be said about it's accuracy is that it does do a decent job of tracking over time: IE if it says 25% now and 22% two months from now, then that's probably a good sign you've dropped body fat.

One of the great things about an exercise program is that even if you mess up diet wise, if you do your job with the exercise you don't view the slip up as a total loss. Good job keeping the running up.

I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything statistically speaking, but how did your monitor compare to your DEXA reading Vee?

Running consistently & working on a veggie garden. That's good Q! :) We can't be stars all the time. You'll get it back soon xo C

Here's a link to the post Q.

http://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/55858-Looking-to-lose-an-extra-human-I-apparently-picked-up-along-the-way?p=877006#post877006

On September 30, 2013, I weighed 222.5 and had a 28.9% reading. On October 1, 2013, I weighed 220.5 and had a 29.2% reading, and on October 2, 2013 I weighed 220.5 and didn't do a reading. And that was the day of the scan. The scan was 30.7% so not really too far off.

The formula that uses the waist measurement seemed to be in good agreement with the scan. Currently that formula and the handheld BIA device are both giving results around 16 to 16.5%.

That's great that you are still running even if you don't feel totally on track eating wise! When I get off track eating wise my exercise goes out the window too!
