From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Good luck, Q!!!! I'm excited to hear about your new low, too. But there's no luck in that, just your blood, sweat, and tears. Or maybe just sweat.

Hopefully just sweat.

Thanks you Jade, Mystic, LaMa, and Oaks!

I am happy to report a new low of 261.4 this morning! That's 2 pounds below my previous low and 2.4 down from yesterday.

Pounds lost since:
All Time HW -138.6 lbs
Joining WLF -87.8
Since 1/1/2014 -71.8
Since 10/1/2014 -42.8
Since 1/1/2015 -12.9
Since 2/1/2015 -2

So I passsed the 70 pound mark of loss since I started running in 2014. Since that has been what has made these changes prolonged and permanent that is my main measure.

I have 62.4 pounds to go to onderland. 2,000 calories and running everyday until then. Any deviation from that will be minimized in intensity and duration as much as humanly possible.

The Daily Plan:
1. Eat no more than 2,000 calories of nutritionally sound foods
2. Run

1.8 pounds/week so far this year. That's down from 2.3lb/week that I ended the year with. That's because I was off track for more than a week. I should be back up to 2 shortly.

Thank you Cate!

2,000 calories today. My BIG day seemed to go exceedingly well so hopefully more on that soon.

Day 85
1.25 miles
11:50
That's a tad under 9 and a half minute mile or 6.34 mph.

I may very well have an upswing in the morning, but for whatever reason I feel like I will be down again.

Hmmm....mysterious Q. It won't kill us to have a mystery in the forum, I'm sure, but..........

Thanks everyone!

I had a tiny hop up to 262.0 this morning. Oh well 261.4 was a massive drop so no worries. I'm still hopeful for my Saturday weigh in.

So the mystery is necessary for the time being. I'm not sure who knows about this diary in the real world and so I have to keep things under wraps for now. If it starts to bug you PM me and I'll share. It doesn't involve a statute of limitations, Alfred Nobel, gender reassignment, or grand prizes.

I feel like there may be to much build up. No one is going to care.

Day 86
5K
34:58
A slow pace on the indoor track. I like that my recovery pace no outstrips my old race pace by several minutes.

2,000 calories today. I didn't drink enough water so weigh in may not be great, but I am still hopeful. I had a lot of coffee today so I sweat a lot despite the modest pace.

261.0 this morning for a new low by 0.4. I will end the month in the 250's.

The fabulous Mrs. Q passed the 50 pound mark of weightloss this morning! So since the beginning of last year I have lost 72.2 pounds and her 50 is in the same timeframe so combined we have lost 122.2 pounds. She won't tell me her weight and being very different heights a pound lost is very different for both of us. Consequently I devised pounds per inch lost as a way of comparing our progress. Her PPI is 0.81 and mine is 0.96. Considering she had surgery and had to recover from that which meant she didn't start running until June (6 months after me) she has done better than I have with weightloss. In 2.6 pounds I will have lost 1 pound per inch. Also, she has told me that she will tell me her starting weight when I reach it. She knows that's a strong motivator for me to get the pounds down, because of my curiosity. She gets me.

Also I don't like calling her Mrs.Q. I don't like her being the girl version of my name or "Mrs." anything so from here on out she will be E. It's me, her, and the dogs, so Q.E.D. QED.

Go E! Add to your calculation that rapid weightloss is easier for men than for women and I stand in awe. Love that she knows so well what buttons to push ;)

There is so much I love about this post!-
"She gets me." How wonderful is that!
"Also I don't like calling her Mrs.Q. I don't like her being the girl version of my name or "Mrs." anything so from here on out she will be E." Good for you Q!
Plus your sheer pride in her achievements :beating:
Glad to be one of your peeps Q!

I passed the love on to E. She greatly appreciates it as do I. Thanks Lama and Cate!

Day 87
recovery run
1.25 miles
19:52

Super slow recovery run that I wasn't feeling. I cleared downed trees using a chainsaw, axe, machete, and muscle for a few hours in an attempt to get the first loop of our trail ready to run. It didn't happen, but we both got a lot done on it. E is becoming rather skilled with the machete and my back didn't go out on me. This is by far the most intense test I have put my back to since the epidural and so far so good. All of the chainsaw work and log clearing is done. We have a bit more brush clearing and a little shovel work and the first loop will be run ready. It's supposed to get cold and rainy/icy tomorrow and my back needs some time between this and anything other than running anyway.

Aww there's something kind of sweet about clearing your own jogging trail together haha xD Good luck on getting it done!

You know what they say Taboo. Couples that clear trails together.....

Day 88
2.27 miles
30:43
So cold and wet today. Raining and high 30's. It's supposed to change over to snow tonight and stay below freezing all day tomorrow. No trail clearing today.

That's awesome that you guys are doing this together. Neat, also, that you're making your own running loop together!
Brr, hope it doesn't snow too much!

Hey Q,

We had beautiful weather all week but it's supposed to cool off and rain tomorrow.

I'm guessing where you're at, you can't have too much winter nonsense left. Saw in Cate's thread you were bragging about your ballet prowess, so I'm expecting video very soon. :D

Thanks Mystic! It got forced into early service today.

I went home early as it started to sleet and stick pretty well. The last hoorah of a pretty mild winter. I'll starch my tutu Vee.

So E and I ran on one half of the trail in the sleet as the road was slick and getting worse. It was quite an effort, but really slow.

I managed to run 1.38 miles for day 89.

The trail will be nice once it is actually a loop. It will be much more demanding than a road run for sure.
