This week will be a week of transition. The last week at the old job tying up loose ends. Adjusting to the Spring forward time change. Getting back on the wagon and back on track with calories. Longer light in the evening means more outdoor runs and starting to keep up with the yard again. It will have to stop raining at some point.
 
I'm so psyched about the time change! I'll finally be able to start walking again after work. Rain or shine... I'm walking!! I hope you have a great week, though I'm sure there will be a little bit of stress involved. I hope everything goes well! :)
 
So sleepy today. I've got a thousand things to do and I'm so groggy. Food is planned for the day and the gym bag is packed.

I'm with you on the time change groggies - I wish they'd spring forward 20 minutes each week for three weeks. Or just get rid of the stupid thing. Add to it that our two plantsites are in Phoenix and Puerto Rico, which don't change with daylight savings, so those meetings you tried to coordinate have to be re-coordinated so you're not stepping on anyone's lunchtime or making them call into a 5AM meeting.

Nice having you back Q! I love Daylight savings. I can't imagine why anyone would not like it. I am going to be very good & wish all my northern hemisphere WLF friends well as I..........fall back into the gloom........just kidding. Winter Shminter. Every little bit of sunshine I can get I am going to soak it up & not whinge about Winter. I promise. Well, I'll try anyway! Our Winters are not too bad- I love the clothes, scarves etc....cuddling up at night, sleeping with a doona, wood heater.....no snow...not too bad really. Can't wait to hear about your new job Q. I really hope it suits you xo Cate
 
I was surprisingly alert yesterday, so I feel like today is going to be rough. Hopefully you're feeling a little more rested today!
 
I've had a hard time falling asleep the past two nights and my guess is it's because of the time change, but our bodies will adjust soon enough. Just keep your head up and do the best you can to stay on track. I hope today's a good day for you!
 
You're on a great roll Q. I love DST. Golf during the week, mowing during the week, etc. I vote for leaving it DST year around. I don't seem to have trouble adjusting to it. Biking daily I don't have trouble sleeping at all. Years past insomnia was a major problem. It stunk bad!!!
 
Hey everybody!

I was close on calories last night, but I snacked late because I was really hungry.

I ran a pretty quick 1.25 miles at the gym last night. I didn't really keep the time, but I know the mile was under 10 minutes based on where I was and my wife's time.

It finally stopped raining so I may shoot for a road run tonight.

I haven't been feeling very good. It's partially stress and partially adjusting to being back on track. I went for my pre-employment screening today and if I had the DOT physical instead of the basic screening I would have failed it due to my blood pressure. It was much higher than my last Doctor's appointment. 177 over something else too high.

For now I need to watch my salt and take it easy until I get back to my doctor. The PA seemed to think I would be fine to wait until my June appointment.

The good news is that I tested at 100% for lung capacity which is better than most people without asthma. I had under 70% when I was at my heaviest around age 30. So that's good news at least.
 
Keep an eye on that BP Q. It's unusual to be that high considering you run regularly, but stress will do it!!! I have an automatic BP machine and I check mine several times a week at different times of day. Since I started biking it's been 115/70. You might want to go by a pharmacy with a free machine a couple times a week and keep check on it.
 
I have an automatic cuff BugDude. I haven't been using it because my blood pressure hasn't been bad since I have been losing and running. I guess it is a problem again. I'll start checking it.

Great news about the lungs! My guess is that your BP will start to come down as you settle into your new routine. Best of luck with it!
 
That's nuts about the BP, Q, give yourself a couple weeks before the next go-round, I'm sure you'll be back to normal. My mother spiked a couple years ago, her doctor said to cut down on the ibuprofen. Apparently that can really shoot up the BP if you're a regular user.
 
I feel much better today after a really good night's sleep. I forgot to check the BP this morning as it took a while to shake the cobwebs. I'll start this evening.

I'm still struggling with counting calories and not over eating/snacking. Stress eating is stupid! The problem with running every day is that you don't really have enough push to up the ante when the stress ramps up. Not drinking was a first step. I have also improved what and how much I am eating, but I'm still not counting or staying at 2,000 calories.

I ate a big handful of pretzel M&Ms this morning and they weren't even good. Someone left them out at work nearby and I acted stupid.

Dialogue in my head:
"Oh I've never had these I can just have a taste."

"They aren't very good"

*Eats a huge fistful

What the hell is wrong with me?

I ate all healthy food yesterday, but too much of it.
