From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I'm not going to make a habit of Chipotle because there is too much temptation. Even if I've decided on a vegan bowl there is nothing to stop me from throwing on cheese/meat/sour cream on impulse as I stare at the heaping bins of it just a sneezeguard away.

The important thing is that I'm not deluding myself. I'm counting the calories, eating an appropriate amount of calories, and doing the runs. The results will come. That's a fact. How and when will vary. I figure by the next new low I will be IN the 280s. In other words this should be my last upswing to 290. It's harder to see the trends with the variation and I'd like to think the 2 pound/week rate will be maintained for a long while with what I am doing, but I'll adjust as needed should that not prove true.

Waking up for before work exercise should increase frequency and kick things up a notch. That starts Monday.

What is a chipotle?

I've never heard of Freebirds either. I'm a Boloco fan, which Wikipedia just informed me is a Boston area chain. Same idea, minus the sofrita.

I would call Chipotles Tex Mex at best. Real Mexican food is plentiful here but Chipotles isn't it. If it has a Mexican state in the name it's generally legit. Also it's usually authentic when the name is "Tacos" followed by the last name or nickname of the guy/gal/family working there.

Run
2.6 miles
31:42
149 BPM avg HR

I took it pretty easy tonight, but still managed a tenth of a mile further in the same time as the last moderate effort run.

2,200 today, but I might have a small snack (100 cals or less) should the mood strike.

We got our first Connecticut Chipolte a couple years ago, I still haven't been, but there are a couple of good Mexican places in the area - you can tell they're good when only one person speaks English and you hope it's your waiter/waitress! CT has a lot more Puerto Ricans, but no PR restaurants, which is too bad, that's some good food.

Sorry, rambling about food. Keep up the good work Q, you're an inspiration for sure!

No worries LJ. I miss all of the different restaurants in Seattle. Senegalese, Afghani, Ethiopian, Nepalese, and on and on. So much good food. I'm happy that we have a decent Thai place now. I can't eat vegan at about 98% of the places here. East Texas relies heavily on fast food and all things chicken fried and the Mexican places are heavy on the meat, cheese, and manteca (lard). Thanks for the compliment too!

Yep Oaks starting Monday. I have had a bad habit of going back to sleep after I get dressed and then nodding off in the car as we carpool in. I've been making a point to stay up and I drove us this morning. To say getting up at 5 and running will be a big change is an understatement.

I am getting pretty tired of the gym so I welcome the return of the road runs. I'm happy to have an indoor track, but taking a break from the gym and gym rats is welcome. That track feels like an obstacle course most evenings almost entirely from either a lack of consideration from others or just cluelessness. They use the track like they drive here. They just step out in front of you or walk slowly in the running lane with their buddy beside them making it difficult to impossible to pass. I don't have much patients for people in the first place, but I try to behave in a considerate and courteous manner when using a shared resource like the track. I don't feel reciprocated.

Okay I'm done ranting. My gym is great, but it's a gym. I'll appreciate it more if I don't go so often.

288.0 this morning. Still 0.8 pounds higher than Tuesday and less than a pound under last Saturday's weight. It isn't looking too good for a 2 pound week, but there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern lately so who knows.

That's one of the reasons I never last long at the gym--People are assholes. I wish I could bring the gym to meeee or just be there alone. But unless I go at like 4 in the morning I'm surrounded by skinny idiots getting all up in maaa shit.

Will have a think about the pick your poison challenge! xo

Sun: Yes, but not here somehow.

LaMa: If you can't be trusted to chaperone then you'll just have to join the party.

I appreciate you both at least considering the challenge.

288.8 this morning. That's the same as last Saturday, but I am drinking water from a 2 liter today and I am running tonight. I think the increase in exercise frequency next week should get things going again. Hopefully I'll hit a low tomorrow.

I was picturing the indoor track being way more awesome than it apparently is. I'm not sure why I would have expected it to be any different than how you described! Working in a big ol' city means I have similar issues with pedestrians on a daily basis. I'm glad you've got other options available.

That's awesome LJ!

Oaks, it was great tonight. Halloween and a Friday night and it was a max of 2 people on the track besides the wife and I. Perfect!

Let's party LaMa!

2.68 miles
30:03
158 BPM Avg.

Monday's run was 2.50 miles in 27:44 or 5.41 MPH with a 164 BPM avg HR.
Tonight's run was 2.68 miles in 30:03 or 5.36 MPH with a 158 BPM avg HR.

So virtually the same speed for longer/further with 6 BPM lower avg HR.

Running improvement = body composition improvement so suck it scale.

My wife had a PR run tonight! Best 1 mile, 2 mile, and overall run!

Actually I am hoping for a drop for tomorrow, but I may forget to weigh as I have to get up really early to go hunt. I drank a ton of water and a stomach issue I wasn't aware I had resolved itself (3X!).

Been flicking through your journey - holy cow mate, you're doing so well!! Keep up the super amazing work - you're an inspiration!

"a stomach issue I wasn't aware I had resolved itself (3X!)" :D Had to think about that for a sec. How can you expect a drop if you´ve just had three? ;)
