From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

It's not optimal, but we are about 100 days from 1st frost and purplehull peas are very heat tolerant and take about 60 days to mature. I'll water everyday until they sprout and they might have a chance. Even if they don't produce they will improve the soil for next spring. I have 10 little summer squash now and lots more blooms and buds so I should have a summer squash harvest before planting the fall squash. A few have yellowed but I wanted to let them get bigger before I eat them.

I planted the summer squash seeds on July 1st so they've done well.

Nom, love purplehull peas. Unheard of in Austria, must bring some from home next time.

They're yummy! The climate for my part of Texas is first frost mid-November and 40C is normal for this time of year. Mild winters with occasional light snows or icestorms. Tornadoes and thunderstorms are pretty common.

Thanks Cate!
Thanks Mystic!
Thanks Tru!

My body said "Really?" last night but I held on with a 29:43 5K. Another 4 in a row and 8th in the last 10 days.

I haven't been counting calories time tried to just take it easy with my mental approach to the diet. That will likely mean an upswing on the scale, but that's just part of trying to adapt to doing right with food without being obsessive.

I need a better approach. The body fat percentage has gone down 2 percent in a bit over a month so that is progress just like weight loss is progress. I do need to weigh less but a lack of change in weight doesn't necessarily mean a lack of progress.

Yeah body fat and weight loss are not the same thing and body fat is the one that matters. Generally that usually means losing weight, but over short stretches that's not necessarily the case.

My pet theory is that it's hard to get in too much trouble when you're putting the exercise work in. The diet affects the rate at which you lose/gain and how you feel during exercise and also the quality of your exercise. And so it's still very important. But I've had plenty of diet slipups along the way, but very few exercise ones. You seem to be going the same way.

Keep at it and congrats on your victory over me.

And to think when this began you were told that back surgery was on the horizon. Amazing what you have accomplished through a lot of hard work and determination!

I hope you are right Vee as I was a bit slack with eating this weekend.

Thanks Mystic! I did two minimum runs this weekend.

Thanks Jade! The back was tight and twingey this weekend, but I also lifted and used a pickaxe. It still worries me but hopefully I've avoided the surgery all together.

Not much to report from the weekend. I didn't watch my food or pig out. No scale, easy runs, and a good chunk of hammock time and a bit of yard work.

Thanks LaMa! The back feels better.
Thanks Cate!

So day 264 was a 5K in 29:06. This wore me out! I got cramps in my groin and upper back with a half mile/1k left. I'm still feeling tired this morning. An easy run tonight is probable.

Easy run sounds like a good idea Q. I take Magnesium for cramps & eat a banana when I play golf xoC

Groinal cramps sound unpleasant, but I´m glad the back thing is subsiding again. Did the easy run help?

Thanks lovely ladies! I ran a modest pace 1.25 miles. I slept like a log and feel much better today. I got some lifting in too.
