Frogged's Lily Pad

AThe link didn't work, Crym.

Rain! I love the rain! It actually cheers me up, maybe it's the writer in me. I get all...creative and inspired when it rains. I just want to go out and dance in it. Even if it's cold, or stormy, or miserable. I love rain so much! I also love cloudy days. I hate, hate, HATE the sun. If I could do away with it I would xD hence why I'm so pasty white.

I heard of someone doing that dish thing, putting all the mess in a roommates bedroom. That's hilarious, and it works too. I'd do it.

Every time you post your exercise log I want a treadmill, Frogged. I'm so jealous. Just hop on and go, watch some movies, burn calories like it's nobodies business. Bah! Instead I have to walk through the cold snow if I wanna go to the gym >.> hate that. I get so bored of that half hour walk. I debated making a mechanism to holster my iphone/psp too so that I can watch it while I walk, hands free. I think it would be a hot seller if it didn't look dorky as hell in my head xD.

Oh, and yes, eat something if you feel dizzy :(. That's no good at all.

Well, I own the house, so I'd rather not let it get too messy.
smile.gif

My roommate though doesn't really seem to care sometimes. Lights left on whenever he's not in the room, trash and other crap just laying around in odd places, splashes of food and crumbs left all over the counter top/stove area. Little things like that. Although he does vacuum once in a while when our puppy's fur begins to accumulate all over the floor and rugs, hehe.

Anyway, yeah, that's our puppy, Mila (named after my roommate's idea of the perfect woman - Mila Kunis), lol.

Hmmmmmmm, wow. I have not heard of that movie, Crym! Looks very interesting! I like the synopsis.
smile.gif

The Walking Dead is one of my new favorite series! Love zombies!! I'm gonna post pics one day when I finish my 'Red Rum Room', has a nice Walking Dead poster framed in there along with some other creepy goodness. :p

Yeah, I was debating whether to eat another nature valley bar last night around 8pm, but that's 190 calories and I really really hate to eat right before going to sleep. It's pretty much the worst time to introduce calories into your system. I just drank some more water and chewed some gum, which made me feel a whole lot better.
smile.gif
I don't know what I'd do without my gum some days.

The day is going well. Just boring stuff mostly. Mila was a bit low on food, so I went shopping and got her some more along with some facial cleansers. I've noticed I've been breaking out a bit more lately than usual. Not sure why. I changed my pillow case the other day and I swap my sweat towels after ever session on the treadmill. I drink mostly water (aside from milk and the odd diet soda), and I wash my hands religiously. Yet, I still break out like a teenager sometimes. If only there were more relation to being a teenage showing up in my body other than damn acne, lol :\

Being a postman in winter can really suck, but it's all part of the job. With the good, comes the bad. Spring and summer times are usually great! Nice, pleasant weather, low mail volume (so it's a nice stress-free day). It's almost like not working on days like those! But, you have to put up with the winter months then.. with the snow, the ice, the freezing cold, and the heavy HEAVY mail volume. Ah well.
smile.gif

lol.. oh no. Don't hold me to that cheerleader outfit idea please! I already talked to one of my friends about wearing the spandex Spider-Man outfit I have, lol. We'll see though. It's all about how my body is by next year. I still need to think about saving up for contour surgery as well. :[

Oh, Loch - you sound a lot like a friend of mine! She loooves the rain too. More specifically, she loves thunderstorms - which I hate! I hate them simply for the fact that they usually disrupt power to a degree and reset all my computer settings. So annoying!

Is there any chance of asking family for help financing a treadmill for yourself, Loch? Mine cost about $1800 when I got it years ago, but it was the beefy, industrial model that was designed to support up to 350 pounds. I'm sure you can find something comparable for cheaper than that.

When you think about it, it's really not so expensive over the long run. Something that can literally save your life that's under $2000? Not too bad!
smile.gif

AUnfortunately, no. I don't have much family, and we're all on the low end of the economy. Oh well, it's something I can save up for after I save up for a few other things lol.

That spider-man costume is awesome, not gonna lie.

Ahhh, Loch :) I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully things will turn around for you sometime in the future and you can find a way to get yourself one!
smile.gif
The only advice I can give you in regards to saving money is don't buy a Jeep Cherokee! lol. I own 2 and they're the biggest friggin' money pits..

Anyway. Exercise is done for the day and it's not even 5pm. It's nice having a day off since I can do my exercising in the early morning/afternoon time, but now I have to focus on not eating too much before bedtime at about 9-10pm.

Since I didn't have the running around and lifting at work today, I compensated that little loss in physical activity by putting together a ~50min video clip that I ran to twice today.

AYour roommate sounds like my boyfriend lol. Crumbs always on the counter/table, doesnt ever learn to use a plate. Often leaves the butter out of the fridge. Never cleans up unless i tell him to. Drinks beer whenever he thinks he can get away with would eat kfc/crisps/kebab all day if i wasn't here. Sucks cus he has diabetes and doesnt give a shit about it. Drives me crazy lol
That Kashi you eat seems crazy high calories btw! or is it just me? It's cereal right? or do you have a huge bowlful? Well it doesnt matter because you work it off anyway, its just funny because when i have cereal i have this dinky little bowlful thats like 200 calories haha. Doesn't keep me full for that long.
I know what you mean when the weather is bad. Makes me feel a bit crappy aswell. Sometimes i love the rain, sometimes i hate it. Depends if im on my way to work on my bike :p haha otherwise i can quite like it.

Kashi is organic, but has 180 calories per serving (~28 biscuits). No sodium, but there is some sugar. I used to use smaller plastic bowls, but they started to crack and I just haven't had a mind to replace them yet. I use these big, rectangular plastic containers for my cereal usually, haha :p They're easy to clean, but not so good for keeping track of serving sizes! Mornings, I'm always starving, so yeah.. I put in a pretty healthy amount of cereal in that thing. Then, I coat the entire top of it with clover honey, then grab a spoon and scoop out a pretty healthy spoonful of peanut butter. Skim milk goes on after, and that's breakfast. Soooo good!

I know I have way more than 28 biscuits, so I guesstimate about 2 servings of Kashi, roughly ~360 calories, then the clover honey has 60 calories per Tbspn, and I probably put on enough to warrant it x2, so that's roughly ~120 calories. Then the peanut butter is about ~200 calories per Tbspn, and the skim milk is about ~90 calories. So yeah, I just guess about 700-800 calories usually for breakfast, but it's the most important meal and the one where you should really indulge because it sets off your day!

Eat like a King for breakfast, a Prince for lunch, and a Peasant for dinner. That's what I usually try to think like, and it seems to work pretty well.
smile.gif

Yeah, well my roommate talks about moving someday when he passes his RN exams, so we'll see how it goes. That's not to say I want him out, it's nice having company (sometimes), but there are positives to it. I've always been a bit of a loner and I wouldn't mind having the opportunity to not be tempted to spend money on certain things that I shouldn't (projects for the house, groceries). Not to mention the utilities, which he does chip in a little for, but not a lot. I'm usually the one paying the lion's share on every expense.

Ok, anyway. Enough of my ranting about that! hah. He has an account on this forum actually, but he's never on.

Thanks for stopping by, becky!

I actually just posted in your own diary a few minutes ago! hehe. Hope your next couple days go a bit better for you.

And "Eat like a King for breakfast, a Prince for lunch, and a Peasant for dinner." Funny you should say that, I watched a documentary on some woman who did exactly that - she reversed her entire family's meals around! They would have a big roast dinner for breakfast, an average lunch and then cereal in the evenings for dinner. And she actually lost quite a bit of weight doing it! I think it's a great idea from a natural point of view - it's not like animals purposefully wait until the evenings to consume a big meal - they eat whenever they can, and it's usually a big breakfast that gets them going. Totally makes sense to me! I just can't face cooking a big meal in the morning when I first wake up, or I would totally do it!

Do you have any larger meals at all? Or do you only ever eat the bars? Seems to be working for you either way, and you're getting closer to your goal weight.. saw the pencil picture in your profile, s'freaking cute!

I hope your room mate can find the motivation .. it's REALLY hard to encourage someone to do something when their heart isn't really in it.. however badly you want them to. My boyfriend was complaining again yesterday about wanting to lose weight, and I was trying to be encouraging.. and within 30 minutes, he was devouring two chocolate bars, one after the other. It's hard to stay motivational when you're fighting down an urge to jsut say "GET IT TOGETHER!" You could always tell him you'll help him with his food shopping - and then only buy healthy stuff! Although more responsibility on your own shoulders for someone who isn't really behind it.. here's hoping he sees the light.

Hope you're well!

Edit: PS, I'm mega bored right now so decided to do this quick and dirty job in Microsoft paint with the mouse... since you're gonna deny us the cheerleader outfit! Muahaha!

OMG! lol! That's AMAZING, Crym! :D HAH! Even have my Mila in there poking her head in! Just like in real life - she ALWAYS involves herself! rofl! Perfect! :D

Thank you so much for that!! =) You got some mad MSP skill! :p Definitely saved and added to my 'Weight Loss' folder where I keep all my pics and everything else I've picked up along this journey that I will always cherish! :D

Thanks also for the compliment on the pencil drawing too! :p I didn't do it as I'm not that skilled. A friend of mine, who was actually a member of this forum once, sketched it for me :) Although she had to have her account removed for personal reasons, so that was a bummer :( I haven't heard from her in a few months, but I hope she's doing well with her weight loss!

Anyway, that so made my day! hehe :p

Drat, now I'll HAVE to make good on the cheerleader outfit, but I still want a touch of Spidey in there. Maybe a Spider-Man/Cheerleader hybrid costume? Maybe Spidey in his off hours has a little bit of a wild side? ;) Oh god. I can only imagine how that might turn out

Well, at least I have another year to think about it :)

I actually do have a pedometer somewhere! I was wearing one when I first started. It's even in one of my 'Before' side shots, here - right by my hand attached to my pocket:

I can't remember where I put it though :( If I can't find it, I'll just order another. They're not too expensive.

I've been working 6 days a week for the last couple years now. I don't usually take time off either. I mean, I wouldn't know where to go right now :p I'd probably just get bored sitting around at home. My roommate and I have talked about going to Europe someday, but who knows. He's been there a few times and says its awesome. I definitely can't make any plans until next year as the Holidays are upon me fully now and I won't get much of a break until probably sometime in February.

Now that I think about it, I usually don't have very many big meals. Once and a while (mostly on Sunday), but Mon-Sat, I eat very light. My cereal in the morning and lean cuisines in the afternoon are probably my 2 'heaviest' meals.

Has your boyfriend thought about joining these forums, Crym? I know how tough it is to find motivation, but anyone I talk to who is interested in losing weight, I always point them to this forum and recommend they read some of the threads in the Before/After section. I don't know how anyone couldn't find inspiration reading some of those posts! :)

Oh, and I broke my 2-month plateau! Finally! :D 184.4 this morning for a loss of 1.2lb! Yay =)

Now on to the 170's! :)

I love reading your stuff you are very awesome. You have such motivation, personality, and you look great btw. I was just thinking the same about the breakfast thing this morning. I've been noticing when I eat more in the morning I'm actually less hungry or likely to pig out later in the day. When I wait all day to eat a good filling meal I end up pigging out at dinner and ruin my calorie count that day. My lean husband always eats tons of fat at breakfast and I actually do better when I eat some of his kind of food with him... I had a slice of bacon this morning... 2 sausages yesterday morning (I only cook this stuff when he's around), getting some of the fat and protein I do better than when I just do fat free and fiber everything. Your peanut butter is of course a better choice for that fat/protein....

Anyway you are so awesome with all that time you put in on the treadmill ( I need one also) And your job on top of that you get tons of exercise!:hurray: I always thought it would be cool to be a mailperson so that I could get exercise while working and be outdoors, but of course sometimes it must suck when you want to be inside.

ACONGRATS!! on breaking the plateau!! your before and after pics...make me so so proud.....and make me think I can really do it tooo!! Well done young one..lol :)

Why thank you, rainy :)

It never fails to make me smile wide when I read posts like yours! :D I'm always glad when I'm able to help in any aspect of someone's weight loss! It's always a great reminder that I'm no longer wasting my life and that I'm doing something meaningful now. It's such a great feeling helping others with something I have so much experience with :)

Yeah, I'm a bit of an exercise junky I guess :) I definitely get antsy when I'm unable to do it due to being sick or injury (which is rare thank goodness!). I also find that I sometimes like to do it on my rest day (Sunday), but I usually don't do it as intensely as I do on my typical days.

I would definitely continue doing that biggest meal in the morning, with gradually decreasing the sizes into the evening. It works well and you should really avoid eating anything big before going to sleep. That's bad since you're not expending as much energy while asleep and your body will just store it away :\

And, yes, being a postman has it's perks with the being paid while outdoors :p I used to like it when it snowed back before I had this job, but now.. no. Not at all. I hate snow! :[

I'm so glad to see you starting to post again lately! Hope you had a great time on your vacation! :)

Ok, even though it's my cheat day today, I still exercised and tried to maintain some sense of my calorie intake. Although I did slip a little bit around the mid-afternoon/evening time.

The day went as follows.

Woke up about 7am.

Got on the treadmill for 52 minutes and knocked out 4 miles. Did my weigh-in and was 184.4. Then I had my usual breakfast of Kashi - which is good because usually on my cheat days, I'll have something like waffles or some kind of high-calorie snacks. Heck, I sometimes even have macaroni and cheese or some other kind of pasta.. yes, for breakfast :) I really have indulged my cheat days in the past ;)

So I was doing great in this morning. 2 hours later at about 10am, I had another bowl of cereal, but not Kashi this time. Instead, it was some kind of Coco Puff Brownie cereal that we've had in our pantry for a while. I figured it should get eaten before it goes bad.

Still doing pretty good for my cheat day though :) No pasta so far!

However, not long after that second bowl of cereal, I did indulge in some chips and cheese dip. Not a lot, but I probably had 2-3 servings (140 calories per) worth of the chips, and finished the little tuna-sized can of dip that was left. There wasn't much as my roommate already got to it earlier :)

So that was my last meal at about noon. My roommate and I then went to a friend's house to watch some football and play the new CoD.

Not long after we got there, we decided to get some chinese buffet from one of our favorite local joints. We set the time at 3pm to go pick it up and decided that whoever got the worst K:D (Kills / Deaths) ratio in CoD had to pay.. lol.

Well, my roommate went first, then our friend, then me. Granted, I had never played this game before and I still managed to beat them both - even with their puppies literally in my face trying to lick me, hah :) My roommate was the one with the worst k:d, but he said he had his fingers crossed the whole time so it didn't count! Prick!

Ah well, not like he had the money to pay for us anyway ;)

So we get there and I'm famished. I tried my best by loading up mostly on shrimp, but there was some fried shrimp along with a few egg rolls that found their way into my container, along with some scallops too.. damn sneaky (and tasty) little bastards ;)

I scarfed it down pretty quick. It was really good, but oh man, I was feeling the pressure in my belly not long after. We got home at about 6pm and I somehow felt the desire for more cereal, so I polished off what was left of that brownie cocopuff stuff. So that's gone, but I'm stuffed now.. oooooh my..

I just weighed myself and the scale said 194.2. Obviously that's due to the food still in me and the always-expected retention I gain from Sundays, but overall, I think I did pretty well today. I exercised, and only allowed myself a single high calorie meal (mostly shrimp) rather than going all out and eating high calorie junk over the course of the entire day, like I've done in the past many times.

I haven't even had my usual 1000+ calorie pint of Ben & Jerry's for the last couple weeks! I thought I'd be going through withdrawals by now, but surprisingly, I'm ok :)

I'm thinking of just having 1 cheat meal on Sundays now rather than going schizo all day like I used to. I don't feel so defeated right now and more confident about maintaining the fact that I finally beat this plateau!

Tomorrow is going to be another crazy day of running around delivering mail, so that'll be good exercise in itself (not to mention I'll be getting paid too!) :D

Fully expecting to be at, or under, 183 next week! It's kind of cool because that was one of my original goal weights when I first started. 83 being the year I was born, so I thought 183 would be an appropriate weight to get to and maintain :) That was before I started researching BMI calculators though :)

Congrats on breaking the plateau, that's awesome!!! Knew you had it in you. Well done on the not-so-bad cheat day too!! Haha I love random breakfasts. When I was younger my very health concious parents used to do a roast dinner every Sat night, and it was the one night of the week we had dessert (actually, any type of sweets) and any leftovers we were allowed to have for brekki on Sunday. Was pretty awesome waking up to lemon meringue, or self-saucing choc pud!

*Note to self* Don't read Frogged's cheat day posts ..... they only make you hungry... mmmm fried shrimp! ;)

WOOHOO!!!!!!! Awesome job on breaking through your plateau!!! That's super exciting!

Oh, and going way back... What? You didn't like it when Juggernaut screams, "Don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" jeez, you're so critical! yeah... there were some definite eye-rolling moments in that movie, but overall I was entertained even if it wasn't my favorite. I really liked First Class, but at the same time it seemed like they were trying to answer way too many questions that didn't really match the timeline that had been previously set up, so it left me sitting there like, wait, but then that means that this happened before that and..... aww I'm confused!

And yes, the guess that you were 28 was really based on what you posted before and the fact that you seem to have a decent amount of wisdom under your belt -- so in that respect, it was a good thing! ;)

Thanks Luz! or is it Lucy? I saw someone call you Lucy in a response to your diary. I'm not sure if you want to go by first names or not, but if you want, my real name is Greg
smile.gif
You all can call me by my real name if you like, I don't mind. Or, you can continue calling me 'Frogged' or 'Froggy' if you prefer :p hehe

Yeah, definitely trying to limit my cheat day fiasco so I can minimize the retention I gain afterward. It gets old working it off over and over again, and since it didn't really prevent me from plateauing, there doesn't seem to be much of a point to keep doing it that way now. I thought it was helping me prevent a plateau, but these last 2 months proved that theory wrong ;\

Mmmm, a roast? lemon meringue? yummy. :]

....uh oh.. is it Sunday yet? ;(

Lovin' the colors of celebration in your post :D Very festive! :)

lol.. no. That part of the movie made me cringe a bit. Juggernaut is one of my favorite X-Men villains (aside from Magneto), and seeing the cheese factor of his outfit and that absurd statement he made before busting out of the floor? I was like 'wtf are they doing to Juggs??' :\

This is the best version of Juggernaut in my opinion, and how they should've made him in The Last Stand, but oh well :\ From one of my favorite cartoons :] Sorry for the geek moment, but I love this kinda stuff :p

<img _huddler_custom="http-youtube-OvGTlEKv0Ck" height="355px" width="425px" />

X-Men: First Class was amazing I thought! One of the best superhero movies I've seen! Definitely in my Top 10 :)

But I just recently read that the sequel is being written by the guy who wrote Last Stand! gah.. wtf!? =| No no no. /picardfacepalm

Oh, and thanks for guessing 28 then :D

Sounds like you did great on your treat day! I am URGING for chinese food now.. I guess it's a good thing that it doesn't seem to be a big thing in Swedish culture.. first thing i'm gonna do when I fly back to the UK for a visit is have a chinese, followed by a big fat indian meal the day after, damnit! And, for real, get a bloody pedometer! Am mega curious!

Sooo happy for you that your plataeu is finally breaking up - it's SO discouraging when you're not getting anywhere! But extra-awesome when you finally start moving again!

I haven't really tried COD.. I'm TERRIBLE at fps's, haha.. I don't have the patience for them! I do have MW2, but I get so annoyed that people are rewarded for sitting in one place with a sniper, being dirty little campers... it becomes very unfun the second you get four people all doing that, using wall hacks, and typing the usual 14 year old gibberish in chat! COD does look absolutely beautiful though.. and the new BF seems absolutely insanely detailed too. Sounds like you're a natural! :D (And your roommate should totally have coughed up!) Ben and Jerrys is a m a z i ng .. only reason we don't have it often is the price! SO expensive!

PS: don't you dare think 28 is old! D:

Well, I love all manner of silly, goofy things :) Unless it involves something that ruins a good childhood memory (ie, the hammy version of Juggernaut in The Last Stand), lol!

I'm still basically a kid at heart. It's like my whole being froze in my mid-teens, and reactivated just recently, so that's probably why I'm so bummed out about nearing 30 because I still feel like I'm barely in my 20's ;(

Yeah, the chinese was gooood, but all that fried stuff. Oy :(

I don't do FPS too much either. I was huge into Oblivion! :D I had a character that got bit by a vampire, then I stumbled on to a city with an arena and fought my way up to a pretty respectable Gladiator :) So f'in cool. I still play from time to time! My poor vampire is looking more and more frail as I'm trying to refrain from feeding on people because I'm trying to reform my evil ways! I want to become like Blade and start hunting other vampires :)

Then of course I'm forced to hide in the daytime, and whenever I'm spotted, I always get chased :( So it's a tough life for my dude.

It's such a cool game :D

And, yes, Ben &amp; Jerry's is amazing. Almost worth the price, but oh so bad for ya :)

Hiyaaaaaa Greg! Thanks for the supportive comments dude, really appreciated it!!:)

Also well done on breaking the plateau, you are AWESOME!!
