Frogged's Lily Pad

Hello there!

I joined a while back (Feb 2010) and haven't been back since pretty much. I hit my 25th birthday and decided to come back and stay-put this time.

I happened to stumble upon your story this time; your before and after and your diary.

I must say it is EXTREMELY inspiring, it really is an amazing transformation and clearly you are beyond motivated, a place where I hope to find myself in the near future.

It is also good for me to see another young guy doing thing and seeing great results. How tall are you btw? I tried finding it within the info, but there is so much to go through! :D

I will have to take a day on the weekend and look through to get all the hint/tips/tricks... whatever I can find.

I can't say anything else that hasn't already been said, but once again... HUGE inspiration.

Hahaha... I had to re-read that post to get the 'weeeeeeeeee' factor! I didn't get it the first time round, but then you put it in my head. Nothing wrong with a little hyper-activity...... :jump:

It gets quieter around here at work. Every other supermarket I've ever worked at gets crazy, but so many people here are fly in-fly out because it's a remote location, and so many places are closed over Christmas. There's not a great deal of local people, really small population here, so once everyone flies home, it's dead! Lucky I guess. This'll be my first Christmas EVER without seeing my parents though, bit upset about that... but planning to have an awesome one here!

Hey chunk :)

Thanks for the nice words and for stopping by my diary here. I appreciate it and to answer your question, I'm 5' 9''.

Yeah, I've typed quite a lot on these forums. Maybe too much! Sometimes I glimpse back on it myself just to recall a few things and, damn, I find I have trouble as well locating some things :) Maybe I should've categorized it, haha.

I'd really just hit up my little blog for the main info. Link is http://froggedwl.blogspot.com

I saw some of your own posts and pictures. Love that 'Puss n Boots' pics, lol! You look great now, but good luck with your goals! I have no doubt you'll hit them, especially now that you found this awesome forum - it's just loaded with support :)

hehe, well, it's just sometimes I get a little too talkative after a long day. It's an annoying flaw I have to catch myself on.. kind of like I'm drunk from physical activity. Let's just leave it at that :)

That sucks about not seeing your parents :( Maybe you could hook up a computer somewhere near your Christmas area and setup Skype with your folks? :D

Dealing with some evil depression today. Sucks :(

Feeling very down and not having great thoughts. Might be the weather (rain, rain, rain), might be life in general.. who knows. I'm able to refrain from eating junk and I still exercised today, because I figured if I failed to keep up with my regimen, I can only imagine how much worse the depression would feel. I don't want to risk that.

I got a call this morning to work in another office after I finished at my main office. It's more money, so I agreed. Well, the packages were insane. I could barely fit them in my jeep. I was getting rained on the entire time and some packages, along with bar codes, got a bit soaked and couldn't be read by my scanner. I banged my head a few times on my jeep's back door as I was loading up (good thing I'm thick-headed), and I managed to reverse into a tree today and damaged the right corner of my bumper :[ I'm just thankful I didn't break my tail light or damage someone's property (a big no-no in my line of work), but that's what happens when you're rushing around. The tree I smacked into was in such an awkward placement too. ugh..

Anyway, the post office mandates each office with a pick-up time for our outgoing mail that we collect throughout the day. A truck comes at the assigned time and, if we miss it, then it's the responsibility of the postmaster (aka my boss) or the carrier (aka me) to bring the outgoing mail to it's next arrival unit. The office I agreed to offer assistance in has their truck scheduled at 4:30pm. The route I was running takes, on average, 4 1/2 hours to run once you're loaded and on the road. I didn't arrive at that office until about noon and didn't get on the road until 1:30. All the packages and mail I had, I didn't get finished until almost 6pm. It goes without saying I missed the truck (which means an angry phone call from a suit to my boss), and it eventually became so dark outside during the last 45min that I had to turn my overhead light on in my jeep just to read the mail. I'm sure customers were like 'why the hell is there a mailman running around at this hour? wow. running late are ya?' My strobe lights were illuminating the entire area I was in. Just big orange flashes lighting up the woods :)

Eh, yeah.

I honestly just feeling like staring at the floor for the next hour, then going to bed.

I'll post in diaries a bit later when I'm not feeling so bummed. I don't want to tarnish anyone's diary with my cruddy vibes right now :(

Hi there,

I've been reading your diary for about a week now and not been sure what to post. But when I read this, I knew you couldn't come back on later to find no cheerful messages back
smile.gif
so here goes, it sucks that your day was not much fun (and it sounds like it was pretty bad) but how incredible was it that you stuck to your diet and exercise for the day! Most people would have really struggled with that and it showed a huge amount of willpower to not take the easy route to feeling better (short term I mean). At the end of the day, today might have sucked but you still get paid and therefore get to save up for more exciting things...such as Skyrim (epic! by the way from what my flatmate says ). After all... tomorrow is another day.

I hope your floor was most interesting and smiled back up at you by the end!

:)

Yeah, exciting things such as vehicle repair ;) Even though I want it, Skyrim may have to wait a bit :)

Here's a quick pic of the battle scar I inflicted on my jeep yesterday :(

Yes, I know my poor vehicle needs a bath. It was pretty cleaned off thanks to yesterday's rain, but all those back roads really have a way of dirtying her up again :\

And, unfortunately, the floor never smiled back, hehe. Although I only gave it a few minutes of attention before I slumped into bed.

Thanks for the cheerful post, Andie. Brave of you to tackle a rather ugly entry into my little online journal, sorry. I do appreciate it tho :)

I really try to remain positive whenever I'm on the forums, but maybe it's just as important to post the really negative moments too. Since, let's be honest.. weight loss is tough. Nothing about this journey is easy. If it was, this forum wouldn't exist and nobody would be overweight.

I've had enough bad moments during these last 2 years of transforming myself to probably fill a few pages on this forum, but I persevere and continue on - as I hope everyone on here does as well.

Although I don't quite feel like going out and dancing a jig for any audiences just yet, I am feeling more uppity than I was yesterday :)

The floor won't be receiving my undivided attention today, unfortunately for it :p

Just can't get the Halloween pole dance out of your head, can ya? ;)

Aww Frogged, sorry to hear you're feeling down :( It's all the cold whether and snow, it's just not natural! ;)

And Skyrim is ah.may.zing! I ummm acquired it last weekend, played it for most the weekend, and then spent the rest of the week thinking about how I wanted to be playing it! Inserting random Skyrim comic that I saw today just for the heck of it:

hehe, maybe it made you smile and your day is getting better!

Poor floor :) I'm sure it is disappointed :p and that's ok, jig dancing is best done inside, in your room with the doors shut and the music up loud!! That always cheers me up :jump:hope today was much better!

lol.. I'm glad none of my friends were lucid enough to notice my acrobatics. It was pretty shameful and not worth documenting. Maybe next year :]

I'm feeling much better! I will get Skyrim eventually, if not from the store, then from the 'store' :p

That comic is so friggin' true too! HAH. I am such a pack rat in those games. Oblivion, Fallout 3.. I'd always have too many of something that inevitably was useless. But, all it takes is one instance of discarding something you believe to be worthless, only to find out an hour later that it was critical in order to proceed. Thus, the cycle begins anew ;\

The floor will be just fine! :p I walk all over it constantly and it's never let me down.. pfft :p

Even alone in my room in front of a mirror, I feel so awkward trying to dance. Yeah.. I've tried to once or twice.. :leaving:

Of course, it'll be the one time a nosy neighbor just happens to be walking by my window (which would be weird considering my neighbors would have to cross the street and climb over some shrubbery to get to my window), but still.. my timing is extraordinary when it comes to humiliating situations :)

Hope this weekend picks up for you.. your poor jeep! I'm sure 'she' will live though. :p Might be huffy for a short while! And good on you for staying on track, you have some insane willpower!

hehe, digital group hug then! :hug2: ..lol, they actually have a 'hug' emote :p

Yeah, had I known my bad jokes/puns that I put in chat were gonna drive you off temporarily, I would've put a cork in it :p Hopefully they weren't that bad ;)

bahaha, and love that Hulk comic! :D

I love anything and everything Hulk though, so that's a pretty easy way to make me smile! :]

Thank you again, ladies! :) You sure know how to make a little frog feel 'hoppy', lol! :p (pun intended!)

I'm gonna have to steal that title! Though I'll give you a small mention in the foreword as thanks ;P

That's actually a cool idea. I never thought about writing a book, even though I've probably typed enough on these forums to fill one :)

Not gonna have pie, but I did get some ice cream! Not Ben & Jerry's, a healthier/lighter brand - Breyers :p

Haha, fair enough. I did have a mini apple crumble but all in the bounds of what I'm allowed to eat so conscience clean:Angel_anim:

Hope you have a good rest day/day off!

Thanks! :)

It's going well!

Although I have been eating a little piggish today. Had a good amount of cookies so far, and some Sapporo Ichiban (2 servings) - so good, but there's about 480 calories in each :[

My roommate and I are making pizzas later. We're gonna make a shrimp, turkey, and mega-cheese pizza later

Yesterday was interesting. Went to a friend's house to watch some MMA fighting. It was my roommate and his gf, then we met up with a handful of other friends when we got there.

I got a little loaded ;\ People kept giving me shots! oy. I became 'drunk frog' shortly after. I really don't know how many shots I had. I lost count after 4 or 5. My roommate later told me they started giving me non-alcoholic beverages just to try and keep me from throwing up (which I didnt!). I kind of slumped over on the sofa in the middle of one of the fights. I was out for about ~30min or so, and later found out that apparently some people were goofing around with me in my drunken state (unsurprisingly.. haha). My roommate showed me pictures just earlier today where they were putting chips on my head, and even put some sort of nut in my nose. lol what the? The suggestion was made to draw some obscene things on my face, but luckily nobody had access to a permanent marker :p lol.. wow.

He's threatening to put the pictures up on facebook, which I don't really care about since I'm hardly on there and nobody is going to care. Even still, I need to stop getting inebriated around him because he's pretty quick (and sneaky) with that camera phone of his :)

Ah well. It's all in good fun :) We had a good time, but I wasn't able to come home, so I was invited to sleep over at my friend's house and my roommate picked me up at about 8am this morning.

Very nice, hospitable people :) They were very understanding of my newbie experience with alcohol.

It's funny though, I seem to always be down a pound or two after a night of drinking some alcohol. Maybe I should start drinking (within reason) the night before my Sunday weigh in! :D

We'll see. I'm not a big drinker btw. Not in the least! I don't even care much for the taste. There's no way I could do it every night because just the thought of it right now is physically making me feel queasy. So I hope nobody has read my last few diary entries and thinks I'm some kind of depressed alcoholic that goes on vicious benders constantly, heh. I'm just catching up with experiences I missed out on when I was younger is all :)

I've never really liked the taste of alcohol, certainly can't handle doing shots!! If I'm drinking it's something in a bottle with a cork, and it needs to be dry and bubbly lol... And usually one glass is enough to make me walk into walls and sway a bit! Probably because it only ever happens once a month or less... Hahaha drunk Frog! Too funny! Lucky there was no marker around, that stuff is a pain to get off. Possibly worse to get off your face, so glad no one has done that to me!

Yum, I want pizza!!!

I say you plan a preemptive strike and just post the pictures on here first! You'll completely steal his thunder, it's genius!! ;)

I don't know why, but I like the taste of alcohol, I like whiskey straight and anything fruity/sugary gives me a headache. But I also started going to parties way younger than I should have so I guess I've gotten used to it... although 5 shots will put me on the floor so I can only imagine what it did to you! (wait, no I can't imagine at all, I think I'm gonna need pictures ;) )

You will see a loss after a night of drinking because alcohol is a diuretic and dehydrates you, so what you are seeing is water loss. Alcohol is actually pretty bad for a diet because it gets metabolized first, so your body will use it as energy and leave the carbs and fat you ate to be used later or stored. Most diet plans tell you to list alcohol as a serving even. Yeah, it is not a dieter's friend, I've actually made a goal to cut it out of my diet for a while, which I've now done for two weekends, oh yeah! :p

Needless to say my weekends having been significantly more boring, but much healthier!

That pizza sounds crazy good, enjoy :)
