i've been wearing black athletic shoes ever since i can't seem to find a white pair these days that don't look hyper-modern with all sorts of flair. i just want a plain boring pair. so i recently was browsing again and saw these two. the one i like better is on sale, $20 off. only one problem... can you guess?
yup... both NB style 813, but the upper ones are the ladies' model.... $68 vs $89, too! the other decision... they come in D (wide) and EE (extra wide) and (no kidding) ...4E (extra extra wide). with regular NB (mens) i like their EE version. mens sizing has D (regular), EE (wide), 4E (extra wide) and 6E (xx wide).
online shopping sucks sometimes...
ok.... i changed lady's to ladies', but i've still not convinced myself which one is right.
years ago i remember a few weeks of arguing with a friend whether it was "Girl's Night Out" or "Girls' Night Out".
sprouts, onions, carrots, corn.
i'm getting better at timing the cooking so things don't get over or under done.
best part is that it's usually 2-3 days of meals or a few sides.
I say when only one girl goes out it's just a night out, it takes more than one to be a girls' night out. A lady's shoes are her personal property but ladies' shoes are a general group of objects.
even though the shortest day (in the north) is around Dec 21st, that day is neither earliest sunset (which happens around Dec 4th) nor is it the latest sunrise (which occurs around Jan 7th). the same phenomena happens with the longest day (June 21) only it flips around. the earliest sunrise occurs about 2½ weeks before the longest day while the latest sunset is 2½ weeks after... typically around the 4th of July.
still at a crawl... in a month sunrise will only move 20 minutes earlier.
we just came off a Santa Anna weekend which is always nice in the winter.
rain forecast at the end of the week, though...
wings on sale today. along with carrots, some apples and oranges, and a head of cauliflower for tomorrow, i didn't even crack $20. carrots (fresh), peas & corn (frozen) today brought on flashbacks of growing up. until i went to college my mom knew what worked so these were the only vegetables i knew about for my first 17 years. four more meals like this ready to microwave...!
re: wings... yeah, my faux pas... guess they were legs.
one reason i thought they were a good deal at 79¢/ lb.
re:: those carrots... yikes... almost looks obscene...
one day left of Trump... seems like it would never get here.
i'm not a very religious person, but some words to keep in mind as we put the past four years behind us.
Matt 24:11 ... "many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."
the "many", on both ends, still concerns me.
that is not an error in the 7-day average graphs below. yesterday there were 775 new hospitalizations in the county. to put that into perspective, a month ago going back to March, aside from a few anomolies, the daily average was less than 30 new hospitalizations. as of a few days ago there are less than 30 ICU staffed beds available in the county. not only are coronavirus deaths going to start going through the roof, good luck surviving a simple heart attack.
after more than a month, less than 1% of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated under the Trump "warp speed" vaccination failure.
i will confess to a very low bar when it comes to certain aesthetics,
but even i have to admit champagne loses something by the jarful.
i broke the last flute i had... *sigh*
have to say, i'm enjoying champagne afternoons.
doesn't really feel like hard-core drinking.
Mrs. Peel, ... where are you?
