Fleur's Diary

Yes, I agree it has to be up there with the best feeling ever! lol

Well, I weigh myself on friday mornings, so I think I'll update it every friday.

Breakfast: Bran cereal -110 cal
splash of milk

Lunch: whole wheat tortilla-130 cal
ground turkey meat 4oz-180 cal
shredded cheese- 80 cal

snack- banana-90 cal

Went to reheat leftovers from lunch and just couldn't stand the smell and taste of the turkey meat. I liked it at lunch, but couldn't stomach it for dinner. Now my stomach feels sour. Didn't pack enough for dinner, only grapes and the leftovers. Will have to eat tonight when I get home. I'll still be in my calorie range for the day, got about 600 cal to spare right now, so I'll think something good up for tonight.

Didn't go running today, instead the fiance and I went to play basketball. Was a lot of fun. Back to running tomorrow.

Still have a 2 mile walk later tonight, looking forward to it.

Can't wait until weigh day on friday!! Hopefully I can move my ticker down a few more lbs!:hurray:

oh no, epic fail. Had four pieces of hand tossed pizza with pepperoni and ham. Just gonna estimate those at 300 a piece. Woa! Brings the daily total to about 1790. Not terrible seeing as I'm trying to stay at 1400 a day. This was my first slip. At least it wasn't so bad. Played basketball today, so hopefully a lot of that was burned off.

This becomes the cheat day for the week. Won't get another until next week. Gotta be tough, I can do this!

So I woke up today feeling a little down. Have been for the last few days. Can't really explain why, since I'm in a really happy point in my life. Anyways. I wanted to go for a run but was just being stupid and laying on the couch thinking about how dumb it was to eat that pizza last night. Decided to be brave and weigh myself. I was shocked to see 167lbs!!!!! Made me feel so great! Can't wait to see what it is on Friday! This effectively made me put up my hair, tie my shoes and get ready for a run.

On my way out the door right now! Feeling great!

Hmmm.... your feeling a bit down for no reason, can't stomach the smell of the turkey- could you be pregnant? Might have to get that wedding dress altered :)

I love purple and yellow together, my old front room was them colours. Now its purple and pink :)

And I'm in total admiration of all your exercise! No wonder them scales keep going down and down. Go girl :hurray:

I must agree with the fabulous loose clothes feeling. Out of all the clothes I used to have hanging in my wardrobe, only one pair of jeans still fits me without falling down, and those are the ones that were un-do-up-able.

Love your attitude, its great motivation brain food for me x

I have been feeling kind of yucky lately too... just having those old thoughts of... I don't HAVE to go walk today.. or I don't HAVE TO only have one serving. I think in the beginning, your motivation and willpower overtakes the body's old desires to overeat and be sedentary, and then after the initial wave of motivation and willpower wash away, and it's time to really put the nose to the grindstone, those feelings come back and it makes us feel crummy... feeling bad about ourselves, especially when you're trying so hard to make a positive change, really stinks.

I'm here with you! I feel crummy too! But we can do this. We must persevere for our wedding dresses and beach bodies. We must and we shall :)

PS you should check out the August month challenge thing. It's just a little place where you can write down your personal challenges for the month. I want to lose 5lbs and go to spinning twice a week every week!

Oh dear, I sure hope not.:leaving:

lol, I'm on the pill and I've had problems before with it making my hormones unbearable. In addition to that I also suffer from depression. Though this has been under control for quite some time with medication. I've made an appointment to see my doc for Aug 15. Hopefully we can get this squared away.

You're so right Chelsea! This is where the test truly begins! I'm so happy I did go for my run. It was hot and difficult, but it made me feel great about myself. This self-confidence thing is addicting! lol

We will look amazing in our wedding dresses and beach bodies!! lol:coolgleamA:

overtherainbow- thanks girl! It doesn't seem like I'm doing a bunch of exercise, but I know my body is like a furnace since I went from never doing anything to running and doing something physical everyday.

Woke up today and just couldn't get my butt out of bed. So I didn't go for my run. The fiance came over and we grilled pork chops. Cut them up and ate them in whole wheat wraps with some schredded cheese. Had some grapes with it also.

For dinner I just had another pork chop wrap, some grapes, an apple, and a can of pepsi.

Weighed myself today and I was almost 165lbs! I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but it's hard only doing it once a week! I just want to know my progress!

I'll probably have a small bowl of bran flakes when I get home tonight. It's the perfect late night snack.

Gonna for for my walk in a few hours. Might add an extra mile since I didn't run earlier today, we'll see how I feel.

I came up with a great way to allow myself a day off from running when I just don't feel like it. If I take a day off, I absolutely have to go the next day. If I don't, I know it'll just snowball and I'll stop doing it.

Does anyone have any advice for what I should do when it gets to be winter time? I don't want to run outside with the snow and ice, I'm bound to break something!

HOLY CRAAAAAAP!!!! 165!?!??!?!?! You are an amazing machine. That is so awesome! All your hard work is starting to pay off! I'm excited to see the ticker move on Friday, right?

I went to college in Michigan's upper peninsula, where the only options were run outside or run inside the dome (NMU is home to North America's largest wooden free-standing dome - exciting, right?) I also grew up running in February/March/April in downstate michigan, where it's still fairly cold in those months. Running in the dome got old real fast (3.3 laps = 1 mile) and I actually learned to LOVE running in the cold. I never ran when it was below freezing.. well, maybe not never but I didn't do it often... and I would wait until the plows had gone thru if we had gotten a big snow storm. I also liked to run late at night, because there is little to no traffic in neighborhoods, and I would just run right out in the street where there was almost no snow. There's also little to no wind at night usually. They make things that you can put on your shoes to give you traction (like chains on snow tires), and they help some people. My mom runs marathons and she does not like to run with them, just because they don't work for her. But some people really do like them. The cold is the hardest part to get used to it, but I promise that once you are used to it, you will actually enjoy it. After 10 minutes or so, you will be warmed up and won't even notice the cold. I always start with my sleeves pulled down around my fingers, and by the end of the run they're rolled up to my elbows. A do recommend a good warm headband, hats get too hot. The headband keeps your ears warm but lets heat escape the top of your head. Also some thin gloves and I love my underarmor leggings. I've seriously had them since I was 14 years old.

I know!! I feel so great! But we'll see the offical tomorrow and yes, that ticker will change!

You're right about running during the winter. I think I'll give it a shot. Gonna have to get some warm clothes though, not sure I can afford underarmor though. I live in Indiana, so I know what you mean when you say it's sometimes pretty cold in February, March, and April. I remember one year I was at tennis practice and it started snowing!!! lol I remember it was so cold, those practices were grueling on your hands. I never could play with gloves, always affected my grip.

Congrats on the almost ticker change..I bet you can't wait till tomorrow!!

Have you tried any of the indoor "walking tapes" I just got the biggest loser one and I liked it...it had a little toning in it..about a 16 minute mile pace..I mean you aren't going to break a major sweat or anything...but it is a good solid workout. I also use the Leslie Sansone Walk away the pounds tapes... I hate floor work and both of these avoid them...so its good on my knees. You still need a hard core work out...but they are nice "filler" workouts...when time...space and weather suck!! lol :)

I did it! I'm 165lbs! It's so great to see that ticker move! I feel so amazing.

Just went for a run. Gonna grab a bowl of bran flakes-110 cal, get a shower, and go meet the DJ to talk about the wedding.

So excited today!

Thanks for the ideas about workouts tetemcg. I think I'm going to give running in the winter a try once that time comes around, but on days it's snowy or icy, I won't go. So this, along with maybe my tae bo tapes (I don't do them often because I get discouraged when I can't do some of the moves.) I've also thought about maybe getting a small exercise bike, but I'm not sure.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday!

Other wintertime activities that burn cals but are fun... roller skating at a rink, and it can be cheap on the days they have deals, swimming, or if you don't like to do laps, just treading is good for you. If you have a dive pool in your town you can do pull-ups on the sides of the pool between treading. Little more expensive and more of an investment is cross country skiing, which is THE BEST WORKOUT EVER. I almost die everytime I do it. Or less of an investment is snowshoeing, really fun and low key, or you can make it hard by going up hills, downhill skiing is fun too but I never really got into it, if you have lots of room in your house by your TV, any DVD is good. I never really got into DVDs because I like to be outside, but I know my mom used to do the Tae Bo ones. You shouldn't feel discouraged if you can't do the moves.

When I was at training, the rule of thumb was that if you can't do any more pushups, the drill instructor would rather see you stick your butt in the air and wiggle around and attempt to push than see your knees hit the deck. Just becuase you can't get the moves right, doesn't mean it's worthless to try!! Plus, Billy Blanks isn't even human. You can't be human to be able to do all that stuff and not be tired.

Go girl :D

Chelsea, you almost convinced me to start running in the winter. I love what you wrote about it. However, if I can't go running when its nice outside, I'm definitely not gonna do it when its 0 degrees!

Good on you both for braving it/deciding you will brave it.

Those are wonderful ideas, I'm going to make sure I still keep active even when it gets cold. We have a small ice rink here, but I haven't done that in forever. Might give it a try when the season comes.

Thanks for the encouragement about the DVD's. I try to at least jog in place when I know I can't do one of the moves. Haven't had those out for a few weeks, so might break them out tomorrow after my run.

overtherainbow, Chelsea if very persuasive lol. I've really fallen in love with running, even when I thought it wasn't possible. You should give it a go and see if you like it. I absolutely love the endorphin rush when I'm finished. Though the rush usually subsides and I need to take a small cat nap! lol!

Hey Serena!

I have been losing weight. Just weighed myself today and I was down to 165lbs. I started at 172lbs. I calorie count and have been running pretty much everyday as well as speedwalking 2 miles in the evening.

I didn't want to exercise before I joined this forum, but it really got me to get off my butt!

Glad to see you are doing well on your weight loss! Keep it up *Cheers*

I have no idea how you guys can get yourself to workout. I get super bored while running and can barely last let alone not seeing any results :(

Yeah, I didn't want to exercise either, but this gave me the boost.

I keep saying I am going to go running.... I'm too scared tho
