Fleur's Diary

WOW! You are doing so well. Nice work on getting a healthy lunch when you were at a restaurant. I SUCK at picking healthy foods usually... but I think I am getting better. Even though I was rushed this morning, I managed to weigh my strawberries for lunch, where normally I would have just packed half the box and guessed. And I would have been wayyy off too. I'm not so good at estimating so I ususally overestimate so at least I'm not eating too much.

Nice work! Stay motivated for the rest of today!

Thanks! I looked over the menu for a long time before deciding. I've started to look up nutrition information before I go to eat somewhere that way I can plan my meal and not have a caloric heart attack for that meal.

Check the calories on my lunch and it was 650 total, but that included alotments for a whole sandwhich and a whole salad. I only had 1/2 a sandwhich and didn't eat much of the salad. But I inlcuded the who 650 in my alotment anyway since I really don't know how many calories I actually ate.

Just had my dinner.

1 breaded chicken patty: 170
2 slices wheat bread: 35 x 2= 70
cottage cheese:70
baked cheetos: 200 (I gave in to the vending machine. I know I shouldn't have, but at least I made the healthier choice of baked cheetos for 200 calories instead of the original for somewhere around 320.)

That's 510, with lunch being 650 and breakfast 340. 1500 for the day.

Feeling really great about myself today. I can't tell you how much I love this site and how it really keeps me on my toes!

I love this site too... people are so motivating when you're all in the fight together, right? Like now I think.. ugh.. I want cinnamon toast crunch so badly but I will have to put it up on the website for everyone to see that I caved in. And it motivates me to make healthier choices! Accountability is awesome.

:):) Fleur you are doing great..I also do not eat super healthy but I do stay in my ranges of calories/fat/carbs for the day...it seems to have worked so far....to much salt and not enough protein seem to be my biggest issues.

Just do the best you can...and when you mess up...put it in the past and forget about it...that has been my biggest break through..one bad day doesn't turn into a bad week or month anymore :) :)

Thanks everyone! Happy Friday! :hurray:

Today I think I had a little too much spagetti for lunch. It was meatless though and I slept in and so didn't get breakfast. Originally woke up at 8:30 and I was so sore. I decided to take today off from running. If I'm not as bad tomorrow I'll get back out there. Was contemplating taking the whole weekend off from it, but I don't think I can do that. I'll go for my evening two miles later tonight and for dinner am having a subway veggie pattie on wheat with provolone, some veggies, and a tiny bit of sweat onion and light mayo. Also a bag of baked lays. MMMMmmmm, I can't wait!

It wasn't a fabulous day as I think I ate a little too much at lunch and I didn't run, but I did weigh myself for the first time since I started counting calories about 2 or 3 days ago and I was 169lbs!!! A one pound loss! It sounds dumb to be so happy, but I've been 170-172 and I'm just so happy to be under 170 now!

Hope everyone has a great day!:cheers2:

Just created my ticker. I love football and thought this one was pretty cool. When I started calorie counting a few days ago I weighed 170lb, but I started the tracker at 172lbs because that's where I had been hovering before that. It's nice to see the progress on a tracker. Makes me want to go and workout more!

Slept till 9 today. A little later than I had been getting up, but tis the weekend. With the heatwave, I can't go out and run later than 10 because it's so hot. I don't want to make myself sick.

Yesterday was a great day. My fiance told me that he wants to start eating healthy with me for support. He is skinny as a rod. Weighed himself last night and he was 120lbs! I was so excited. He even looked up a bunch of stuff to help me out. We're going grocery shopping later tonight and I couldn't be more excited! We don't live together, but when he comes over I like to cook us meals. I know he loves me for me. He tells me all the time that he likes the way I look. I appreciate it, but also know my bmi is almost in the obesity range. I'm just thanful I have his support! It's going to make this some much easier for me.

My goal other than being down to 145lbs, is going to be able to wear a bikini next summer on my honeymoon. I haven't wore one since I was a little kid. It's time I get back to being proud of who I am. Also I have two amazing Native American Tattoos on my back that I never get to show off and a one piece suit never gives them justice!

Today for breakfast after my run I had some grapes and water.

I'll be going to lunch with my maid of honor around one at Buffalo Wild Wings. I've looked over the menu and nutrition info and hope I can make a healthy decision. I'm thinking salad or maybe a wrap. If I get the wrap I'll save half for later of give it to my fiance since they're like 600 calories!

Having a really great day so far, just want to include this bible verse. "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."~Philipians 4:13

Yeah, don't make yourself sick! Instead of buying bottled gatorade, I buy the powder, and you can take a teaspoon and mix it into a little cup until it's the flavor you like. On hot days like today I always make sure to drink a little bit. The powder is expensive up front but cheaper in the long run because it lasts so long and you can adjust it to keep the sugar levels down.

That is awesome that he wants to help you eat healthily! Even if you don't live together, you still spend a lot of time, inevitably eating and other peoples' choices influence our own more than we recognize. I don't know how many times I have eaten with my friends (who are usually skinnier) and they eat something, and in my mind I think, "well if they can eat it, so can I." Frustrating!!! Wow, 120, he is skinny! Haha. That's good that you're going grocery shopping. He needs to learn how to cook and make good choices too! (I showed Brent how to make rice last night :)
That is a great goal. Even if some people think that you should be motivated to lose weight because of the health benefits, no one can deny that looking good and the visual is just as, if not more, important to our mental health (and sanity!)

You sound so much more positive and motivated and excited than you were when you started out!!! You go girl! Nice work on looking at the menu before hand. Then you won't be swayed into picking something less healthy. An informed eater is a healthy eater :)

Wooohooo, your in the 160's!

Its so sweet of your bf to support you :)

What sort of wedding are you going to have? Bet your excited!

Chelsea: He said he might be skinny, but that doesn't mean he's healthy, so it really made my day!

I'm glad you noticed! I just feel great!

overtherainbow: It's going to be a traditional Catholic wedding with a mass. Our reception theme is the Fleur De Lis, and our colors are purple and yellow.

Lunch I had one chocolate chip pankcake, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns. with sugar free syrup. oh and two pieces of turkey bacon. Came in at maybe a little under 700 cals, but it was my cheat day.

Just had a bowl of bran flakes but was a little bit more than 2 servings. Will have some fruit and yogurt in a little bit.

Haven't been able to exercise today, my knee is really hurting. Got a bag of ice on it now, hoping it helps.

If you have a bathtub where you live, and if you can stand the cold - a cold bath while stretching your leg that the knee is aching on helps, especially the muscles around your knee, like your quads and the muscles under and around the shin . Bending it around and whatnot. If you can't stand the cold, the heat still helps, especially after a workout. Glucosamine is a supplement that's good for cartalidge (sp?) repair and maintenance.

I miss baths!!! Our old apartment in Florida had two huge clawfoot bathtubs...

That sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure I'd be able to stand the cold. :banghead: Ice on it tonight was hard enough. I'm getting ready for bed and I'm going to try the heating pad on it. I have arthritis (I know, I'm a 21 year old with arthritis, weird!:ack2:) and we've had some dry weather. Anyways today it was a drastic change in temperature and we finally had some rain. Not sure if you believe it or not, but sometimes the weather has an affect on my knee. So I think that's the problem. I've taken ibprophen and it's still just a dull ache like it has been most of the day.

Off to bed, hopefully I feel better tomorrow and start the day right with a run!

Goodnight everyone!

Nice! I am a fussy baby in the mornings, and I know that I choose to be a fussy baby but I love sleeping in until the last possible second and then rushing around to eat breakfast and get ready. But, to be fair, the "last possible second" is 5:45, and 5am is SO EARLY to get up and excersise. I think once I am out of this spandex suit compression garment (it's a pain to take off, shower, dry off, and put back on), I will be more keen to go out and exercise in the morning. MAYBE. No promises LOL. Go for a run! You will feel better about your day if you do :)

Oh wow, I don't blame you for not wanting to exercise in the morning. I'm not a morning person by any means. I work 2nd shift so I don't work until 2:30pm. The only reason I had been getting up earlier was because of how hot it was getting. Today was way better. I planned on going running around 9, but it was very hot out, so I slept in til 10. Got up and did my run. Went a little bit farther today, and I didn't stop at all! Made it back home and hit the punching bag for a few minutes. Been a great day so far.

Had a bowl of Bran cereal for breakfast-170 calories
I eat it with a splash of milk because I don't like it getting soggy. So not quite sure how many cals that was but I assume hardly any.

Then a banana for a snack

Lunch was a whole wheat wrap with rice and cheese. 330 calories.

I spent $40 on groceries this week, but alot of it was just fruit. I have turkey, ground turkey, and pork chops, and a ton of fruit. Buying heathy food is expensive!

Dinner will be a cold turkey sandwhich with cheese. Cottage cheese, grapes, and maybe a small bag of baked chips. I'm not sure yet.

Time for my shower and to get ready for work.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

So I put my work pants on today and they felt a little looser! It absolutely made my day.

I'm shocked to feel like I really enjoy watching what I eat and making healthy choices. I don't find myself thinking of food as just objects that I need to satisfy me, I think of it now as fuel. I want to be able to feed my muscles so they can eat the fat! lol This is really a great feeling.

Gonna have dinner in an hour or two.

Dinner is a turkey sandwhich with pepperjack cheese, cottage cheese, grapes, and a small piece of watermelon.

I'll calculate the calories a little bit later, don't have the time right now.

Just finished my 2 mile walk. Seemed to go by really easy. I'm very sweaty (We walk in a building with no ac) I think with running daily it's starting to help my cardio a lot. I can't wait to go running again tomorrow!

Nice!!! I love when stuff feels looser... or just not tight any more!!!

I'm sure running is definitely helping with your cardio. Your body is learning to work like a finely tuned machine! And I also have started to like seeing food as fuel, not as an emotional need or something to do because I'm bored. It's fun thinking up different healthy ideas and seeing how your body feels before a meal and then after a healty, portioned meal. Before it was always... Ughhh I'm sooo full I can't move and I feel so tired, and now it's like GREAT! I JUST ATE DINNER! LET'S GO FOR A WALK! Haha.

Do you have a day that you are going to update your ticker?
