Five things you may not know about me....

:nopity:
If i had the capacity for relating to other people's woes i'd be depressed right now.. however...
I dont recall this being a singles chatroom; Its supposed to be a thread about discovery, about stuff we don't know about YOU.. try something interesting.. like.. "i can wiggle my ears and my pec's in rythm".. or odd "i have a 3rd nipple on my left glute"...

I say we give you a mulligan on that post.

hmm..that was kinda rude.

Here we go...

1. I am legally blind in my left eye... It sucks but I was born that way and I guess I am used to it. It doesn't affect me too bad, I just can't read at all or see detailed objects with it...
2. I wore braces for 3 years in junior high and high school.
3. I am the tallest member of my immediate family by 5''.
4. I love the taste of black licorice...
5. I don't like heights that much, or flying in an airplane.
6. I have a small scar on my face from when my uncle's dog, a purebred Borzoi bit me in the face when I was three... damn dog, lol
7. I'm always the first to apologize when I fcuk up, and always want to be the peacemaker.
8. I love scary movies!
9. I had never been drunk, or probably had a full drink until I was 21.
10. I have extremely good handwriting and always get compliments on it :)

So, guess that was 10, now you know all my secrets!

Here is another, thanks Sam...

I got braces when I was 11 and got them taken off a month before I turned 18.

3 years of braces top and bottom was enough for me. 7 or so years would be torture. I thought I had it bad, I even had retainers and expanders, and all the bands and shit... I do thank my parents for it though, I think braces are a very good investment, imo.

It wasn't just braces...

I had my front teeth pulled together with a band and hook getup
I then had my palate cracked
Then teeth pulled
Then braces
During braces I had an overjet that was corrected (I think that was an ovefr reaction by my ortho b/c you never would have know it to look at me) via springs attached to the top and bottom of my mouth...I couldn't close my mouth for a whole day.
Then I had my midline corrected.

After 7 years I get the freaking things off and my dentist makes me get a cap that does not allow me to wear my retainer so after all of that, one tooth moved.

Fun stuff :)

1) I have triple citizenship
2) I have a degree in computer engineering, but I'm currently trying my hands at medicine
3) I was born prematurely weighing 1.6 Kg
4) I'm the youngest of my siblings by 18 years
5) I use to own a restaurant. I'm looking to buy a bar right now

That's crazy. Where is it on your eye?

It's right next to my pupil on my left eye I think. I'm too lazy to go look for a mirror:)

Everyone with these odd fears.

I'm afraid of bees. But not terrified. I just swat like a madman if one lands on me. But that seems like a normal reaction considering how F-ing bad it hurts when they sting!

Plus when I was young I fell into a hornet next and got stung many times. I'm sure the fear stems from something to do with that as well.

Falling into a hornets' nest would make me crap myself... no wonder you're terrified. But my other "fear" is really unfounded. I saw Landonsbaby's height and she wouldn't terrify me... but anyone less than 3 feet tall that isn't a child, I honestly panic and get this look on my face. There's a reason I haven't seen Mike Myer's Spy Who Shagged Me movies.

For what?

During the summer of 2005 I worked for an opera company in Colorado. The same summer A&E was doing these weekend getaway specials and they'd go to a state, find some worthy things of mention, and then do a ten minute spot on it. Well Central City Opera got a spot when they came to CO. So when all of the interns had to wear this garrish outfit and sing and parade up the street before we open the house doors, they filmed it and all 12 of us were on tv. I even had to sign a release. Granted this was no major life turning event but it was pretty cool at the time:)

I've had the same best friend for 21 years and I'm only 26. Same boat.... and I think that's very cool. I love reminiscing with him too. It's neat to say, remember when......

And be talking about something that happened in kindergarten.

There have been times when we've completely bitched each other out, ended the friendship, blah blah blah but we always come back to each other. We grew up together, weathered a lot of fake "friends", helped each other thru shitty ass relationships and at the end of the day it's sort of hard to separate yourself from someone who's been there since the 2nd grade. Even now we have shit in common but it works and it's nice to have someone who keeps you real and reminds you often of "remember when...."

Bottom line, all of us PA people are just fucking awesome;)

very cosmopolitan.. from what countries?

U.S, Canada, Iran

I've heard the restaurant gig is a tough biz, but it's still my dream to be a chef - what type of restaurant did you own?

It was an Italian restaurant. A little hole-in-the-wall joint. And yes, restaurant business is tough. Luckly, I had help from my brother-in-law who had been in the restaurant business for over 20 years.

This is the best thread I've read for a long time
Here's mine:

1. I went bungee jumping after I shot my mouth off about how "I'd do it because I'm not scared". I found out that though I am not afraid of heights, I have a fear of jumping.

2. I have had tornado nightmares about once a month since I was six. When I was 20 I had a bout of tornado dreams (2 per week) for two months right before I witnessed a real tornado. Since then, I have had very few.

3. I have a degree in fine arts (printmaking). I quit my master's in fine art after a year into it. I'm now taking a master's in landscape architecture. I have never gotten over the sense of failure for quiting FA.

4. I was in a roll-over car accident in summer. I survived my SUV didn't. I've had glass removed from my arm 3 times in the last seven months.

5. I had mono so badly that the virus attacked my long thoracic nerve causing motor problems in both shoulders for a year.

6. When I had my back x-rayed, the orthopedic surgeon said I had the longest tailbone he'd ever seen. My dentist told me I have the shortest tongue.

7. When I am drunk, I have the delusion that I can run really fast. I have been known to take off running in the dark at campground.

8. I am an undefeated arm wrestling competitor in my architecture program at school.

9. I have an allergy to the sun (as ridiculous as that sounds). I break out in hives if I'm in the sun too long. It goes with the red hair and freckles. I had prescription sunscreen before it came onto the market.

10. I have a ridiculously good memory for facts and trivia, but I cannot remember simple things like appointment times or things I need to do.

That's incredibly interesting.

I too have witnessed a tornado but I am fascinated by them. I am fascinated by all severe weather phenomenons.

4. I was in a roll-over car accident in summer. I survived my SUV didn't. I've had glass removed from my arm 3 times in the last seven months.

Wow, how or why did the vehicle roll? Were there any major injuries? Do you think about the accident often?

So do you put the sunscreen on each time you are in the sun?

I guess trips to places close to the equator are tough, huh?

Luckily the tornado was a ways off, but lets just say my car keys never left my hand (I was somewhere where there wasn't anywhere safe to ride it out). I had a ditch about 2 miles up the road in mind if the tornado came my direction!

Here's a picture of . It looks worse than it was, as the roof was cut off to get us out and they then set it back on the car. Luckily neither my fiance and I was seriously hurt. It was back in August and I'm still going to physio for my back, but its getting a lot better. The short story: A 80 year old woman decided to make a sudden left-hand turn from the center lane on a one way. We were in the left lane. We swerved when we saw her suddenly starting to turn. Her front end hit the back passenger door and we rolled, skidded on the roof and went upright again. Ironically, her van had only a tiny dent near the front. I still find it a bit unnerving to drive, especially when I see someone lane changing in the corner of my eye. A funny and scary part...my parents arrived on the scene just as they draped my fiance and I to protect us while they cut the roof off. My parents at first glance thought we were dead. Huh, I guess that doesn't sound too funny when I write it (but it kinda was).

I should put sunscreen on all the time (as we all should), but for the most part I don't. When I'm going to be outside for over an hour when its warmer then I will. After I burn one real good time at the beginning of the summer it tends to get a bit better. I worked outside every summer at a greenhouse for seven years...lets just say I should have taken stock out on the Ombrelle sunscreen company! LOL. Good note it was easy to find me at work...the gleaming white chick in the sun...or the bright lime green raincoat in the rain. As for our honeymoon, my fiance and I have decided to stay away from all the tropical places.

My mom, who also has red hair/freckles/fair skin, has the same issue. She breaks out in shingles if she gets too much sun. It's such an odd thing to be allergic too:)

Not as odd as you think - in my teen years - I'd end up with a horrid case of sun poisoning from actually believing that I could slather on the baby oil and get a tan... never happened.. but 20 minutes in the noon sun without spf45 will give me a blistering sunburn...

I always wanted freckles so people would beleive that I was so fair skinned...

Wow, Luscious, that is so cool to finally know all this about you. Crazy thing...I share the sun allergy though I'm burnette/hazel. If I sit in it too long, I breakout in a heat rash. It just started last Summer, before than, I was fine.

Either you're really, really clumsy...or you like breaking mirrors/windows/dishes with your arm....lol...

Okay after reading everyone elses here's mine

1. I have a daughter that I put up for adoption when I was 17. She just turned 17 herself this last Febuary.

3. I am deathly afraid of tornadoes. (We don't even have a basement!)

4. Every guy I ever dated (and eventually married) has been in some kind of public service. Cop, firefighter, military man, minister.
