Five things you may not know about me....

More for me:

1. I love to fish.... fresh and saltwater.
2. I am climbing Mt. Washington the first week in June. Gordy (my business partner) and I are doing it in celebration for the grand opening of our business which as of right now is slated for the second week in June. Yea right.
3. I don't count calories.
4. If I could choose one place to live it would be Hawaii.
5. I graduated high school in 1999. Since then, I've lost 5 close friends. There's been even more deaths than that from that class. Scary.

that's awesome that you decided to do it this year... Is it going to be a charity climb or just a personal challenge... (my brother and his wife got marriaged at the top of Mt Washington -it's supposed to be beautiful up there - don't you and gordy go and get married please :)

You will get the business launched... you've got your goal in sight and you'll get it to where you will be proud of it... and make changes as you go..

This climb will be a personal challenge and a victory celebration. Should be a blast... I have to start conditioning for it soon. Probably right after this crazy diet I'm on.

We'll be climbing for charity most likely next year sometime. It will be a different mountain.

I have no doubt that we'll be open by July. June... that's another matter.

I'm confused today -http://www.mountwashington.org/ as in new hampshire ? or washington state you going to?

Mount washington nh is amazing -- very very cold though - especially at the top in june - but the auto road is neat...

If it's new hampshire -do read Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods :)

Which one is missing?

The smallest bone in my second toe on my left foot. I found out when I had it x-rayed at the age of fourteen. The podiatrist was fascinated, said he'd never seen anyone missing that bone. Needless to say, I'm an especial freak. You wouldn't know by looking at it though. It's just not as curved as the same ligament on my right foot.

Ya, as in New Hampshire. I will certainly check out that book! Thanks.

if the ladies are going with you - Conway NH is a shopping mecca - tax free and tons of outlets - and the Inn at Mount Washington is a phenomal old world hotel - that just went thru a renovation... Lake Winnepausake ior Squam Lake (from the movie On Golden Pond )sn't all that far away either - New Hampshire --y ou'd have to kill me before I'd ever live there again, but it's a beautiful place to visit.. :D

Ladies aren't going.

Gordy is assembling the 'summit team.'

Haha. And he's only picking guys who he knows can make it. So far it's only 3 of us. He climbed it last year and they didn't make it to the top b/c of the guys that went. The weather did get horrendous, which is commonplace there.... but I'm not turning around.

I know a bunch of people who've climbed it and if the weather is good -it's not a grueling climb.. though from what I've heard the huts near the top are quite an experience :) and a little stinky :D

I'd imagine, once youstart carbing up again, you'd have no problem the condition you're currently in

I want to climb at about 180 lbs or thereabouts. Don't need to be lugging around anything extra. The weather is supposedly the worse in the country and the mountain has the most deaths. I haven't researched it yet... all word of mouth.... but supposedly it can get pretty shitty. I saw pictures from Gordy's last expedition and shitty isn't strong enough a word for what they were stuck in.

Mount Washington is the home of the world's worst weather.

I've been to the top in August - when it was 96 degrees on the ground -it was probably 30s at the top of the mountain...

To give you an idea of how bad the conditions can be -the auto road that goes to the top is only open from Mid May to Mid October :) every other time it's under a lot of snow... What's really funny though - you'll end up at the top of the mountain - in full climbing gear looking all the worse for wear - and you'll see tourists in flip flops and tshirts who drove up :) the expressions on teh hiker's faces is pretty priceless :D

OH yeah and do bring a camera the views alone are worth it -but the disposable kind -the last thing you want to be concerned about is dropping a 300 dollar camera down the side of the mountain :)

I'm excited for ya -like you couldn't tell... I wanna go but I wouldn't make it 150feet :) chicago is entirely too flat :(

Very cool! I'm pretty stoked about the trip. It's a been a while since I've done something like this. Hawaii was the last time I did any serious hikes.

And I have a digital camera which is extremely durable. Waterproof and you can pretty much run it over with a truck. If it breaks, the warranty I have on it is 100% refundable. No matter.

Here is another odd bit about me:

I have met the following Philadelphia Eagles through my work at the jewelry store:

Darwin Walker
Chad Lewis
David Akers
Terrell Owens
ND Kalu

I think that's all of them...boy my memory is getting bad :)

That's awesome. I watched the NFC championship game when we won against ATL a few years back with Randall Cunningham. He was sitting right next to me as we watched from the Lincoln Financial box.

I also met B. Dawkins. He's the man.

:D oh. This sounds like fun. My turn.

1.) My right leg is much longer than the other.
2.) I'm afraid of live fish.
3.) I am finishing my diploma at home.
4.) I joined the forum two years ago, but pretended I was new (which was virtually true).
5.) I'll eat mustard on bread, and enjoy it. (mustard with nothing else but the bread...a mustard sandwhich)

I'll combine some other facts of Steve with what you've given here......

1.) My right leg is much longer than the other.

I had this problem for a long while myself. I severely broke my leg back in high school sports. Actually snapped my two shin bones in half. The cast they gave me had a 2 inch heal on it. It allowed me to walk on the cast after a while w/o crutches. It was in a cast for so long though that my hip musculature adapted and the leg was held higher than the other.

2.) I'm afraid of live fish.

Any fish?

Or just the kinds that bite?

3.) I am finishing my diploma at home.

In what?

I was going to do this until my business partner did it and I could pretty much teach the entire degree.... figured why waste my money. I am still thinking about doing it for something else.... not sure yet. Learning is fun.

4.) I joined the forum two years ago, but pretended I was new (which was virtually true).

I did the same thing here.

Joined and didn't come back for a long while.

An interesting factoid about when I joined here: I was not warmly welcomed. I think I was viewed as an outsider or just another guru. A few welcomed me with open arms, but a few didn't. I almost left.

I've said this before... and in forum defense...

How'd we know what you turned out to be... you know first hand how many expert wannabes we get in this forum - and it's a bit of an initiation for those who try to enter... maybe it's not fair and we should give everyone a chance... but - as a person who's probably been here one of the longest -when you're fat - you get used to being preyed upon by experts who want to help.. what they generally want to help is their wallet... You were different... I don't genuinely like too many people - you are one of the people I do like... so in case I haven't told you lately - glad you stayed..

Incredible :)

I love Dawkins...his intensity is just amazing.
