Fit by 60! - TomO's Pledge

Your day-before yesterday workout reminds me of my own this morning - so crappy I'm not even calling it a work-out - it was more of an "attempted" work-out - the body was just not cooperating! Hope I "bounce back" as quick as you did. Sorry about your wife's knee...along with lunges, the leg press is the other one I can't do either without my right knee getting painful post work-out - but it's never been a bad as hers seems to be - hope it's resolved soon! I won't even comment on your present weight fluctuation 'cause we both know how it's gonna turn out in the end:)

Hi, cym. Sometimes you just have workouts like that. You feel totally pathetic afterward, but at least you can be pretty sure tomorrow will be a lot better.

Hi Tom!

POOR Marlene :( I hope it heals all right this time!

Sorry about the blip, I hate that!

SO I went back to a linear progressional attempt to get to where I was 2 months ago--talk about regression! Oh well at least I have my wonderful friends on the forum :)

Have a great day!

Hi Val. Is this really the first day of summer? Linear progression = regression -- sounds like my statistics class! Have a happy, calorie-counting day!

Oh hey, Tom, I've just been to about twenty diaries, can't skip yours, there it was at the bottom of the page. Hope your wife's knee gets better soon.

Thanks Kelly & Cannon. I'll pass along your wishes. I appreciate it, and so does she. Her knee does feel better today, after a fair amount of RICE.

Hi, Blancita & Pinky. Thanks for stopping by.
Pinky, RICE stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation -- a standard way to take care of pulled muscles. LOL, the other rice would be very messy!

Weight: 231.8 - Yeah, it's up from yesterday, and up almost 3 pounds from Tuesday, but if I look at the graph of my daily weigh-ins, this is nothing unusual.

At the beginning of each Round, there are some tough punches that knock me a bit silly, and then I get my act together and win the Round. I don't think this one will be any different.

Food came to 2,416 calories:
Fat: 63 gm, 23%; 15 gm saturated
Carbs: 276 gm, 41%; 37 gm fiber
Protein: 151 gm, 25%
Alcohol: 14 gm, 4%

Yesterday was a rest day, so no calories from exercise. That left me with a whopping surplus of 69 calories for the day, and an accumulated deficit of 4,970 calories for the month.

I found an egg white salad mix at Trader Joes, which with a couple of Wasa crackers, makes a terrific 140 calorie snack. I had that for both my morning and afternoon mini-meals.

Marlene's knee is much better. She's going back to swimming this morning, but will stay away from weights for a while. Thanks to everyone for your well wishes!

wasa crackers are the best... the ingredients list on it is awesome. what's int he egg white salad mix?

WASA CRACKERS! :jump: I still remember the day I "discovered" those wonderful things...and it was over a year ago....I think there's only like 3 ingredients and one of them is water! Glad your wife is feeling better...have a great week-end...this is going to be a work week-end for me so if you do something fun, please have a little extra for me!

Hi Tom....that water weight fluctuation is screwy...I'm sitting here at work and my ring is actually feeling tighter than it did an hour ago! I have only had a half bottle so far today....still working on my morning coffee (which is nice and hot still in my travel mug)

I really hate the days I don't work out....I hate adjusting my calories those days.... :)

On the fun side, I heard yesterday that my bike arrived. They still have to put it together, though. I might even be riding it by Sunday!

Yeah, some days I wish our bodies weren't 65% water -- there wouldn't be so much variation!

Rest days are tough -- it makes you realize how important exercise is in the whole scheme of things. I would not be able to maintain my weight, much less lose weight, without it.

I didn't really improve any speeds or resistance levels this time, but I did match what I had done on this workout a month ago.

My bike is assembled. I'm going to test ride it tomorrow. :jump:

Great workout indeed! I almost always have the best workouts after rest days. It's the time when my muscles seem to do the work most effortlessly (if you can ever call working out effortless.. ;)).
I'm eager to hear your first impressions of the bike. Any chance of pics of the testride? I don't think I've ever seen that type of a bike in real life..
I'm glad to hear that Marlenes knee is getting better. I hope it heals completely soon. It's so frustrating when you have the motivation for something and you can't really do it. Although it seems she's found her way around it with different kinds of workouts.
Have a fun weekend with the bike!
Julie
