Fatty.2 : Revenge of the chub.

Well, the diet has been out of the window the last few days. Got some more horrible news about Yank's mum. She's had another "episode" and was found directing traffic and claiming she was on the phone to the president in the middle of the night and has been put in hospital. They're checking for brain infection/meningitis but Yank has a suspicion that she's been abusing medication which is causing the psychotic episodes. She's had them on and off since December and was even in jail for assaulting a police officer last month. Thought she was getting better :( Yank's so upset and like 3000 miles away from her right now. He might be flying back home to see her but she's not even coherent right now. Very distressing.

Hope everyone else had a better weekend xxx

Sorry to hear that Sunny. Must be really worrying for Yank to be so far away. My dad has days like that but mostly only that extreme when his medication has been changed. It's distressing to see people you love have these personality changes. xx

Yikes. Sounds awful Sunflower - you both must be very worried. Hope the situation improves - not sure how...but hope it does.

Thanks ladies :beating: Am hoping to have some results today.

I have my friend from Spain staying with us for a week and she arrived out of the blue yesterday so we ordered pizza. We split a large one between 3 of us so I guess I only had 2 or 3 slices but then had some wine and went to bed on a full stomach which wasn't a great idea.

Today I woke up at 6am for work--Went into the kitchen for some milk, didn't look at the expiry date and drank a fuck load of gone off milk before the taste registered in my sleepy brain. Tried to make myself sick and couldn't be so ended up jumping off my bus two stops early to be sick on the side of the road. That was fun. Came home and slept until about 1pm and feel a little better now. Typical Monday, hey?!

Breakfast: :ack2:
Lunch: 1.5 cups of cooked pasta (287) cheese (40) ham (10)
Dinner:
Snack: quavers (97)

Exercise: 2 mile walk

Anyone want to write my essay for me?!

Also: Anyone else do night shifts? When should I eat? What should I eat? I need the sugar fix to keep me awake so end up eating SOOOO much. And then I get home at 8am and only get to sleep til just after 12 so I'm up in time for lunch.

I have been doing night shifts for 23 years now. Everyone is different, but I found it easier to take small meals and break up the night a bit with them. I generally eat that way anyhow now. I'll usually sleep come first thing after my shift, so I'll have something lighter then before going to bed, and eat anything heavier during the middle of my shift. I try to keep a store of stuff at my desk. In season for instance I'll keep a bag of apples at my desk so that I can always reach for one if I feel like eating something and don't want to mess up my plan.

I used to do night shifts at a supermarket (from midnight till 5am) and i used to have a big dinner about an hour before i left, and had an apple during my 15 minute break, usually did the trick. I had coffee once or twice but i found apples actually woke me up more than coffee!! (never been a big coffee drinker i guess) But i think your shifts are longer, yes? So guess its a bit different..

and sorry to hear about yanks mum :( hope the situation improves soon, is she living alone at the moment?

xx

Thanks Cabbie--I don't like apples but just brought bananas and satsumas for snacks tonight as well as low-fat yogs. My night shifts are (usually, touch wood!!) very quiet so I'm just sat down playing on my laptop and I *love* snacking and picking at little bits so I think going for fruit and yog rather than crisps and sandwiches is much better. Thank you for the advice. Now all I need to know is how to fall asleep the next morning after all the coffee I drink ;) I kid, I kid.

Katie, I work from 10-7 so I have dinner around 7 (have to catch bus to work at 8:30) and then snack all night like a greedy piggy! Thanks for your kind words about Yank's mum--She got divorced back in December after similar episodes drove her husband (not Yank's dad) away and has lived in motels ever since. She's in hospital now though and she's not allowed out so at least we know she's safe for now.

In other, potentially life-ruining news, I think I might have a bun in the oven. Been sick this morning and yesterday morning (was hoping it was the milk :/) and a few times last week also. I've been peeing like crazy, lethargic and having mood swings. Great! I don't *feel* like I am and am hoping I just have flu or something as I'm on BC but am taking a test tonight so will let you guys know! That'll put a dampener on the weight loss!

Siiiiiigh. :willy_nilly:

Breakfast: Didn't have any. Too busy with my head in the loo.
Lunch: fat free shape yog (71) cheese string (57) 2 crumpets with low-fat butter (160)

Did you get an answer yet? Hopefully it's the right one...

Crumpets cure everything ^_^

Umm... there is not really a cure for the previously mentioned condition... (although they do know what causes it :D )

Hey WLF lovers! Sorry I've been gone for a day or two, been working nights and had a friend to stay. I took a test and I'm not pregnant which means I'm just putting on weight because I'm huge piggy :piggy:
Got a horrible cough at the moment as well which my friend from Spain gave me. Coughing all night is not fun! Ho-hum..Off to uni.

Cabbie--Crumpets cure *most* things, I think you'll find! They are beautiful things!

Food has been okayish for the last while. Ate healthy snacks on my night shifts and went out for dinner last night but didn't have lunch before as was sleeping/working so all in all, not too bad!

Thanks :) I'm very happy too! Barely an adult myself yet!

Ate like a massive fat piggy today but have been up since the arse crack of dawn and walking around town and to work ALL DAY. Seriously must have done about 4 hours just running from shop to shop! Was lovely but feet killing me! Worked out I walked 6 miles to Uni/work and back as well so that's a lot of calories burnt. Food for today would have been okay apart from the wine but I have a day off tomorrow and want to relax! Least I don't reach for the ben and jerry's which I brought for Yank and my friend that's staying! Watching them eating cookie dough did nothing but make me go yuck! My days of massive binge eating are overrrr!

Going to weigh in tomorrow I think. Been feeling very bloated and meh so not expecting any good results to be honest. Really *need* to go back to Weight Watchers.

There are no meetings though :( Apart from ones that are like 6 miles away (I don't drive) they are all at times I'm either at work or at Uni.

Anyone tried the online WW? What's it like?

Actually, I haven't but my daughter did for a time. She liked using the online WW.

How about Slimming World, isn't that another big one in your area?

Your thread headline is an instant classic!

Hey sunflower,

Thanks for all the support you've been giving me. I saw your pics and I have to say way to fucking go. Congrats on losing that weight and because you are so tall the weight you have now looks good on you. You're sooo lucky to be tall. All that walking you've been doing (those six miles) is a lot of good exercise, keep up the good work. You said weight watchers helped you, thinking about joining them myself in the future. You are young and tall, and your metabolism is really high right now so you have so many advantages going for you. Keep committing and that weight will keep coming off.

Sunflower. I diagnose reducing your intake to a crumpet a day and avoiding sex for at least 6 months. That ought to keep you out of trouble!

yeah, crumpet is also a british term for...a woman you'd like to...you know...but in today's modern times of equality, can also apply to an attractive man - "a nice bit of crumpet"! But I think Sunflower was talking about REAL crumpets because she does like eating them!
