Erin's Diary xoxo

I hope everything turns out ok! But I would think its a pretty common thing! We were also allowed to surf the net and someone was always getting something horrible on their computers.

Food and exercise look good! Even the nuggets! My goodness I am going to try a chicken recipe this week that will hopefully taste as good as nuggets! I keep reading them in diaries and I'm like mmm those sound so good lol

Hey lovely! thanks for checking out my diary!! :grouphug:
I have just read yours a bit! you are doing well girl!!
i saw you have blueberries for beakie - JEALOUS!!! Here it s so expensive - i cd hardly ever buy - like once a month - a handful costs like €3 (i guess that over $4) i really dont know currency rate change.
that sucks about the computer - sounds like i could get into this kinda trouble ...me and technology hahahah!!
What is a gazelle btw? is it like a cross country trainer?

keep up the good job! :hurray:

Thanks Justina - I just love reading all you gals who keep up the regular journals - even when I'm just feeling blah, going through and seeing what's new with the regulars really keeps me motivated to also keep going :)

Mmm I love blueberries - I prefer when they're in season over here and also when they're a bit cheaper, but a little carton of them will last me at least a week for breakfasts and munchies so if they are a little more (or even imported or something) then I still pick 'em up :) yums!

the gazelle is basically a poor mans elliptical and kinda like a cross country glider type thing. It's mostly ridiculous and definitely for beginners but I find if I basically run on it instead of just gliding then it seems to really get my heart going and it seems to be working (my butt and front upper thighs have shown the most improvement from it). Until I have the money and space for a real elliptical this will do ;)

Sorry about your sucky day :( I'm sure they wont be that mad, though. It was a one time mistake. I used to go on the internet all the time at my old job and I always got in trouble for it but they never fired me! Can see why you fancied some comfort food though!

By the way those photos from St Patricks day are awesome! You're so cute!

Thanks lady - I just love reading your journal :D thanks for stopping by mine - and for the nice comments- yay St. Patrick's day :) After today a lot of people told me their stories of things they did that were disasters at work (computer and not computer related) so I feel a bit better, but I still haven't talked to the IT guy (yikes!) and my boss, the HR manager was off today sick. I'm pretty sure I'll get a talking to about internet use (I know I know! I just SO wasn't even thinking... blah!)

Yeah hopefully things turn out ok. I just hate this sick feeling that I have about it all. I was super extra cautious about everything today at work (on the computer and just in general) - it definitely scared me straight!

Mmm nuggets - if you get a good recipe for chicken let us know - I always see great fake nugget type recipes but haven't tried any myself yet but I'm sure there are some yummy ones out there that could help with my nugget cravings (ok, so maybe I also like the toy :p jk... well sorta ;))

Hey Erin - your dinner sounds delicious....it really made me hungry!!!
hahahahaha
Reading others' diaries IS totally moivating!! :hurray:

The gazelle sounds like a good thing!! anything is good if you enjoy it!
keep up the good job! :grouphug:

I wish I had a blueberry bush! or any plant for that matter - I don't really have much of a yard though at my apartment so a hanging basket (that I usually let die) is as good as it gets ;) haha.

Mmmm coconut sounds delicious! You definitely need to try this out and report back!

Yay I can't believe how soon it's getting - less than two months away now! Of course now I seem to have hit a major plateau and haven't really lost anything for three weeks now. I admit I've slacked here and there but not enough to justify this plateau so I'll just keep chugging along and eventually things will do what they're supposed to ;)

Food hasn't been especially hot lately and exercise only so so but I'm keeping at it so ... yeah ;)

March 23, 2011
Breakfast
- whole grain mini wrap with tbsp light peanut butter and half smashed banana
Boss took us out for Thai lunch
- 1 cup hot and sour soup
- spring roll (oops but yums!)
- black bean chicken with snow peas and celery and pineapple (I only ate half)
- maybe two mouthfuls of the rice with hot sauce
- side salad
Dinner - I was soooo full from lunch I just needed a little something
- scrambled egg beater (1/2 cup) with hot peppers, turkey bacon and salsa
Snack
- honey ham stick

*No exercise today besides work related stuff - I got all my gear on after my sister left from watching shows - and promptly passed out on the couch - whoops ;)

March 24, 2011
Breakfast
- reduced sugar oatmeal with low cal yogurt
Snack
- maybe 1/3 cup leftover hot and sour soup and one rice cracker
Lunch
- whole grain mini wrap with 3 pieces fat free ham, 1 light laughing cow wedge and tsp dijon mustard
- baby carrots, snow peas and cherry tomatoes with leftover mustard
- few raspberries and blueberries
Snack
- 2 pickle slices
Dinner
- leftover thai chicken (not much and mostly it was the rice but it was delicious and I enjoyed it so that's good at least haha - I never go out for lunch and rarely get this type of take-a-way so it was a nice treat)

*1 hour HARD on the gazelle - I'm sooo beat! and I'll do my regular ab work before bed as well - just gotta tidy up my apartment

I have some gals coming over tomorrow night - a few years back we did a fondue night and always said we'd do it again. So worst timing ever is now. Fondue (whether it's chocolate, cheese, oil whatever) is definitely awful for you - tasty but baaaad. Someone mentioned broth or something to cook the chicken and veggies in but I don't know how far that went. I'm just supplying the place - not the food so I don't really know what's happening. Really I only do this once every few years - its just crappy timing. I'll toss around some of my cut veggies plain with dips (I always have hummus, tsatsiki, salsa and hot sauce on hand) to hopefully fill me up a bit. Gack! Still will be fun though :)

Happy Friday and Weekend All :D:D

Not too much exciting going on here with me lately, been more tired than usual but maybe just a lot on my mind (nothing big, just stuff I guess :p) and dealing with other friends problems is taking a bit of a toll on me, but I`m sure I`ll survive ;) Just makes it a bit harder to drag my butt out of bed in the morning and then that first part of my workout in the evening takes a while to get into but once I`m going I`m ok so that`s good :)

I tried to eat a bit more carefully today because I went back to my old (and very odd) habit of eating gummy candy in the middle of the night. I don`t know where this craving comes from and you`d think it would be easier to just roll over and go back to sleep but for some reason i can`t. Mind you at least it was just two small 45 calorie bags, but still - scared me that I did it again - I used to do it almost every night... weird i know :p

February 22, 2011
Breakfast was from the mexican place in my work buildings food fair. The lady there is super awesome and does all her burritos and wraps without the tortilla if you want so I can get a yummy scramble and it`s deeeeelish!

- scrambled eggs with lots of salsa and bit of shredded cheese
- weight watchers whole grain mini wrap with 4 thin slices turkey, cut up cherry tomatoes and tzatziki sauce - yums!
- carrots and snap peas with the leftover tzatziki sauce
- 5 teddy grahams (I was unusually ravenous around 3pm today)
- chicken noodle soup - about 2 cups (dinner was just random leftovers and things I had been craving)
- broiled tomato with parmasan
- broccoli florets with some sort of wasabi lime drizzle I made (all very random but delicious)

Also did 1 hour on the gazelle and some random strength exercises and crunches and such . I just do whatever and don`t really keep track or reps or anything - tho I should really get into that habit so I can build up, etc.

With regards to the gummy candy cravings, maybe you should stop keeping them in the house? Maybe just buy them on occasion? This usually works for me (though its usually my family that buys the junk then I find it in the cupboard, much to my dismay lol :S). You're doing a great job so far, especially with choosing healthy foods for your meals and snacks :)

Fondue sounds super yummy! Chocolate sounds awesome lol You are doing really good! As long as you keep going and keep seeing results the once yearly fondue sessions or delicious eating outs won't phase you much :)

I am looking forward to the summer which is when I get most of my bbq time out and delicious foods! I won't worry about the calories too much just know that I gotta work out before because I usually stuff myself and then want to come home and nap!

Have a lovely weekend and awesome fondue night!

Hey!!!!! I heart chocolate fondue!!!! it doesnt necessarily have to be bad!
e.g. i love dark chocolate anything above 70% :) So I ll do the fondue from dark choco and i use strawberries, kiwis, bananas, star fruit, clementine, pineapple to dip in the chocolate...HEAVEN!! :Angel_anim:
Hope you have fun! :grouphug:

Mmm!! Fondue!! That sounds delicious!!! I absolutely am a sucker for it!!

I hope your night went well! I am also finding it hard to do social things with my friends and not indulge (or over indulge!) ... it's so easy!!! I have rid my house of a lot of poor food, but take me out to a restaurant, and I will order ANYTHING!! hehehe

I think you're doing a fantastic job with the diet and exercise! We all hit times where we work and work and the scale doesn't move, but trust me, one of these days you'll get on and be happily surprised! :) But that's also easier for me to say, than to practice! Because I get all poutty and sad when the scale doesn't move!! hehehehehe

I had a giggle at your work story! That is totally something I would do! How has that turned out?! I hope well!!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!!!! :)

Whoops - I appear to have vanished off of her the last little while - I've still be keeping track of everything and lurking around other people's diaries for motivation but haven't posted in a few days ;) After a rather indulgent weekend (not horrible though) I'm trying to get things back on track, but honestly I'm not too worried about it. Life is going to have parties and dinners and I can make the best choices I can with them and I can also enjoy them. I'm not going to avoid parties and dinners my whole life and who wants to do that ;)

At least I know that I can do that and then just get back to normal after - as long as I don't go back to the way things were before where pretty much every day was a party haha, then I'm doing good :)

Thanks :) Yeah I stopped buying the big bags of gummys and just have the small individual packs left from halloween. I figure I'm not going to never eat gummies again so better one or two 45 calorie pack than a whole whole bag :p

Thanks Tally - I can't wait til summer and all the yummy bbq - mmmm :) Fondue was super delicious. She brought chicken, shrimp, veggies and we did them in tempura and oil (ahhhh) haha but it was super good and totally worth it and really once every few years wont kill me... hopefully ;)

Yums! We didn't end up doing chocolate but my family went out for my sisters belated bday the next night and we had a mini dark chocolate with fruit fondue and it was AMMMAAAZING - pineapple in chocolate - yummmms! I'm drooling thinking about it now ;)

Thanks lady - I totally missed you when you were off being such a busy bee this last little while! You've been doing pretty well yourself lately too :)

The work thing seems to have sorted faded off which is nice. I believe the computer got stashed in storage until someone can fix it so until that day comes things are pretty quiet (we'll see what happens when they try and fix it and see what a mess I did - hopefully it will be so far into the future it wont' matter anymore) haha. oops!

Going great and that is the perfect attitude! Change is exactly how to get results and most importantly to be relaxed about how things are going without getting so crazy about results that you just quit right away! All the people who only accept 100% and then give up because they have an 20% day once in a while but if they had kept going then they would have seen results at some point instead of gaining all the weight back and then having to do it all over again!

Hope the week treats you well :)

Agreed :hurray: I figure if this is something I`m going to be doing my whole life and making it a new lifestyle rather than a crash diet or a rush to lose weight than I better modify it to suit my life style and my lifestyle includes the occasional not as perfect day ;)

Happy Almost Friday Everyone!! :cheers2:

Hey Erin!! You are doing great!! How are you enjoying the 30 day shred? I noticed you have been doing level 2 lately too and that one is hard! I loved the pictures from St. Patty's day too. Your very sexy and I can only imagine you will be drop dead gorgeous when you get to your goal. I don't know you put I picture your personality to be very positive and bubbly and I love that I can tell that from your pictures. How do you not have a man in your life? It must be by choice.
You have almost smashed 30 pounds and that is an amazing accomplishment - you are allowed to indulge here and there so don't beat yourself up for it. That's life and that's how we get through it day by day. As long as you keep at it you will succeed!
Have a great weekend!! Also I think I'm going to go home and instead of going for a run you've motivated me to do Jillian's workout instead! Take care!

Good job fitting in some bonus exercise! Window shopping is currently a weakness as its getting summer and I want to look adorable for it and I always have something I want to buy.

Exercise and food are looking great! I hope your weekend is awesome :)

Thanks Lisa!! And so glad you're back :) Thank you for the sweet comments on my pictures - I'm definitely FEELING a little sexier these days so that definitely helps. Haha and I guess my personality shows through my pictures pretty well too because that's pretty much me you described haha!

I don't know if it's necessarily by choice there's no man. At this point I've decided I'm not settling for anyone who's potentially a dud so maybe that's part and I'm also pretty happy having fun and being single so when the time comes and the right guy comes along I'll know ;)

I really love the 30 Day Shred. I'm not really doing in in the proper order or anything, but I love sticking it in with my regular cardio as I feel it's really toning me up as I drop the weight. I mostly stick to Level 1 because I really like it (and you're right Level 2 is hard! lol) but I'd like to move on soon and try out the others when I'm ready.

Good job fitting in some bonus exercise! Window shopping is currently a weakness as its getting summer and I want to look adorable for it and I always have something I want to buy.

Exercise and food are looking great! I hope your weekend is awesome :)

Thanks Tally! Yeah I figure going out for a stroll in the fresh air is definitely gonna help and it makes me feel great instead of just sitting in the lunch room all day. As long as I eat first otherwise I want to eat at every hot dog and sandwich stand I pass lol! Plus I'm finding all those adorable clothes are quite the motivation for summer time!

Hope you both have a great weekend as well! Thanks for your support :D

Man aren't plateaus the strangest things. I seem to get them a lot. I'll be stuck around a weight for what seems like weeks and then pow! it'll all drop off in a little clump - so weird, but awesome and means that it's good I stick with it because eventually the scales are cooperating :)

So last week I was about 183 and I had been bumping around between 186 and 184 for about 3 weeks and I was a bit better this week with food and exercise but nothing drastic because I was hoping to get down to 181 by the 4th (so I'd have done 30 lbs in 3 months) and also to get off this plateau. Imagine my surprise (and happy dance induced glee) when the scale read 177lbs!! horray!

Probably a bit of water weight and all that but mid-180s plateau is broken! YAY!

Alot more people have been commenting on my weight loss (all the ladies at work by now and even the FedEx guy (who I'm pretty good friends with by now since he comes in twice a day so it wasnt' weird)) and I couldnt' figure out why everyone seemed to be noticing now that I was on a giant plateau and hadn't budged so it's nice to have blasted past it! yay :)

So tonight I'm heading out to a bar with my bestie and a few friends I hadn't seen in a while. Including one boy who is causing me a wee bit of boy drama recently. We're all good friends but long complicated story short is that we have had on/off sporadic flirty friends with benefits and also just regular friends things going on for years now which may have overlapped slightly with his now new gf (who I"ll also be meeting tonight). So it's super awkward but I didn't want to back out because of it. But fingers crossed for a drama free evening which may include more alcohol than I anticipate because drama and stress makes me drink more ahhh! Blah - I hate seeing ex-type boys with new girls, even if they're awesome. I know I should be happy since they're my friends as well but still. barf ;) Plus the whole overlap thing makes it suuuuuper awkward since no one else really knows (well besides my bestie)

So all that aside here's my food from yesterday (no exercise - besides a bit of lunch walking- because I wanted to have a pj/pizza/movie and tv catching up night)

April 1, 2011
Breakfast
- whole grain weight watchers flat bun with tsp light peanut butter, 1/4 smashed banana and a few strawberry slices and 1/4 banana slices and a few strawberry slices on side
Snack
- small handful of cashews
Lunch
- whole grain mini wrap with 1/2 smashed banana and tbsp light peanut butter
- one kiwi
- sliced strawberries
Snack
- slice of turkey bacon
Dinner
- mini whole grain pita pizza "roasted garlic chicken"
- 2 large tbsp tomato sauce with garlic seasoning
- shredded chicken breast seasoned with onion powder, garlic powder and salt and pepper
- lots of roasted garlic cloves
- topped with a sprinkle of mozza and a bit of goat cheese with a sprinkle of oregano on top!
- one drink made with 1.2 shot of vodka, soda water and half a pomegranate cranberry crystal light
Late Night Snack
- mini 150 cal bag of cheezies

Here's to a great (and drama free) weekend!! :cheers2:

omg lol I hope she doesn't know about you guys! Did you ask if he told her? I hope you had a drama free night as well!!

Congrats on blasting through the 180's!!!!!

Good for you for still going on even though the results weren't showing because honestly it's of course going to go away at some point but so many people give up and go back to their old habits!

Food is looking good and walking is always helpful :) Have a relaxing day!
