Ok I havent been posting much because i have been at home all week. My kids are home schooled and I had to play teacher for the week. Or 3 days anyway. They hog all the computer time.

Swimming (not laps but playing with my kids for about 45 minutes)

Didnt want to go. I was lazy last week which made my Monday WO leave me sore all week. Glad I did though because I felt better after I left. Went straight to the in laws and hopped in the pool.

I have re-devoted myself to Fitday. My weight loss has been flat lately and I want to do a better job tracking it.

Protein 28% (155.2g)
Alcohol: 11%

Had a cheeseburger, chips and 3 beers for dinner. I was actually shocked when I seen how low my calorie intake still was.

So far this week

Calorie avg.:1,827
Protein avg: 123.4

Whoever said getting 1g of protein per lb of body weight was full of shit. I have been eating double protein every chance I get and chugging shakes and still come up short.

Yeah I know. I have been told that since I am pretty close to goal and lifting pretty heavily I should shoot for 1g per BW. Really makes no difference though. I would pretty much have to set in a protein I.V. to get either one.

You must be really bad at "eating double protein and chugging shakes", because I find it pretty much impossible not to get 1g of protein per lb of body weight. And I weigh 190 lbs! When I'm actually trying it's more like 2.

I guess I just don't eat that much. I know what I need to do, eat more protein. Duh. 190g is hard to get though. Even with 5 meals a day that is 38g per meal. Maybe to some that is easy but with me its a little tough. Believe me I have read a billion articles on "tips" to add protein. I just don't eat that much.

How much is "just not that much"? 'Cause I'm eat about 1800-2400 calories a day, myself.

I think you are confused about some of those tips, or something, because I could show you how to make it pretty damn easy. You can do whatever you want. I'm just sayin'.

38.3 g protein

Snack
Another rice cake w/PB and honey. More pb this time
5.2 g protein

For the day. 94.9 grams of protein. So pretty much to hit 190g I would need to double everything.

Made some homemade granola last night. Yummy. I was exited that college football was on but then all the games were crap so I lost interest. Read a few chapters then went to sleep. INteresting weekend ahead. We have 2 little girls spending the weekend and one of them is (gasp) Josh's "girlfriend".

  • Egg white omelette (1 cup egg white, 1 oz extra old cheddar, few leaves of spinach, 1/4 teaspoon kosher sea salt)
  • 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup mangoes, 1/2 cup peaches
  • 1 scoop CMDI (casein/whey protein) in water and ice, with 1/2 tsp potassium salt
62g protein

Your Lunch
Lite beef frank on wheat bread x2
Cantaloupe

27.7g protein

My Second Breakfast

  • 300g chicken breast
  • 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup mangoes, 1/2 cup peaches
60g protein

Your Snack
Rice cake w/PB and honey

3.5g protein

My Lunch

  1. 4 servings nature's path whole grain cereal
  2. 2 cups skim milk
  3. 1 scoop CMDI (mixed into the milk = chocolate milk! :beating: )

59g protein

etc. etc. .....

See what I mean? Proportionally, I am eating LESS food than you, in terms of bulk. And significantly cleaner. Starches only after weight training. And yet I am getting more than twice as much protein. This is what I meant by you being confused about the "tricks". :)

I can do the rest of the day's comparison if you like, but it basically continues that way. In the evening I eat protein + fats instead of protein + carbs, but am still getting at least 40g of protein per meal, though my total calories (with the exception of "lunch" which is my PWO meal) stay at or around 400 per meal.
