Dust yourself up and try again

Well...... I took your advice when I got back on the diet. Dusted myself down and got back on the straight and narrow. I had gained 4lbs, which I have now lost. How are you

Yay, I like that. I am so glad you're back. We can do this, D!! You're a lbs losing machine!! So happy to have your positive energy around here.

I love fresh fruit myself. Last year when the wife and I went to Hawaii we ate the most amazing fresh fruit. What really amazed us was how much different pineapple taste in Hawaii than back home. It was like it would melt in your mouth.

So where exactly are you right now on your business trip?

Sounded like you have found yourself a new friend in the gym. I'm happy that you have someone to push you in your workout. That is always a plus

I am in the land of fresh, great, diverse fruits and great food. Aka Thailand. Working from Bangkok for a few weeks. I love this country. Its sticky, hot and humid, but my god it's beautiful. And your description of the taste of pineapple is exactly what I think fresh fruits should taste like too. And Hawaii is great for that.

My gym friend is awesome. We've figured out a system to work-out together, so that's always a good thing. Poor guy, I ask him so many questions he's probably going to be sick of me by the end of this week. So far he has been encouraging and super nice.

I hope you have some great fruits today, GGH!!

Things are good at this end. Had a huuuuge sugar craving attack at work. Ate half a bar of chocolate. :ack2::ack2::ack2: My only consolation is is that it was amazing smooth Belgian dark chocolate (I LOVE DARK CHOCOLATE!!) and not some crap that's just lying around.

Did 20 mins of cardio today on the elliptical and then my gym friend and I did some dumbbells, many many crunches, leg lifts, twists with the rod, bends, and lots of long stretching. I feel so good.

Busy days ahead before the weekend. Big presentation on Thursday. Hunnie flying in on Friday and we're both flying to another city to see an old college friend and spending my birthday weekend with him, his two wonderful kids and his beautiful wife. Can't wait to see my hunnie and my friends. I miss my little pup though. So much. But he's at my mom's for next few weeks and she adores him to death. And he loves her. Skyped with him today (I know, I'm a dork). Actually, to be fair, I Skyped with my BF and he was there looking all confused. He just couldn't figure out where his mama's voice was coming from. Then he started licking my BF's laptop monitor and it was my BF's turn to look all confused. My boys are so cute.

Hope everyone's having a wonderful week. Happy hump day, y'all. Another three days till the weekend.

Nothing wrong with eating good chocolate. It just has to be occasional or within calories. I'm with you on dark chocolate. It's less fat and sugar with more of the good stuff that cacao has. Good luck on the presentation!

Good day today. Did 40 mins cardio- elliptical, and run walk on treadmill. 20 mins of strength training.

Food is still all over the place and I'm craving sugar like a nut but its TOM and it will be over soon.

Wow, you keep amazing me! Far from home, jetlagged and still watching what you eat AND working out, that´s great!

Respect Amber. Respect. Here you are, away from home living out of a suitcase and keeping on the fitness straight and narrow where lesser mortal i.e. me would be comfort eating and goodness knows what else

Guys, this weekend was fun but didn't do any exercise. I was in a total celebration mood. So i have missed working out on Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon and Tues. Will try to see if I can go tomorrow morning. I am sooooo tired, kinda hungover, and don't want to work today. I am cutting down on alcohol for sure. I am such a bloody lightweight now. I used to be able to drink before. Maybe that's a good thing. More later when I am feeling better.

Hope you´re feeling better by now... But celebrating is a good thing, even if it leads to a couple of training-free days. I used to be able to drink five large beers (half-liters) on an evening when going out, now I feel woozy after one small one
But hey: it saves money and my liver probably feels better...

Hello All,

I have missed being here and reading all your updates. So after my last post on Tuesday, I fell ill. There was a weird kinda virus going and Wednesday afternoon I had really high fever. Rushed to the doctor (I NEVER HAVE FEVER) and did some blood work. So apparently I got the virus but it went away as quickly as it came. I was feeling better by Friday afternoon. Took sat off to recover. Back to the gym. I missed a week of workout. Yikes. Oh well.

So I'm changing things a little from here on. I am going to be focusing more on cardio. I want to be able to run better and get stronger running. So I started the C25K program. Which I have done a few times in the past and have had really good results. I want to be able to run 5k at a decent pace and time. So we'll see. I am going to focus on weight training in a couple of months. I really enjoy running so we'll see where that goes.

Anyone else wanna join?

Here's to another great week.

Q, I did stop by!! Thank you!

So I forgot to mention (as if it was not evident already): Did WK1D1 of C25k then 15 mins of elliptical and 15 mins of stationary bike. I am loving the fact that I have energy and not completely exhausted like i used to be when I was doing steps. Woohoo!!

Me no runner... But I like to hear people get enthusiastic about any kind of sports so yay for you! Viruses (viri?) should learn to behave and attack only when you really really don´t know what to do with your time. Which is probably never.

LaMaria, I started running in my early 20s. And this program c25k really helped. It slowly builds up your stamina so you are not stressing your muscles out. For eg: Week1Day1 was just five minutes of warmup (fast running) with 1 min running, and 90 sec walking. So you do that for about 28 mins. The next week they increase the running time a little more, then the week after a little more. I am sure you already know this and I am totally telling you something you already know. But it helped that I didn't have the pressure of running for 15 mins the first week. And you do feel like you are getting stronger.

And I agree with you. Virus are silly. Ugh. I am glad I'm over that one.

How have you been?

Good day today:

I did: 40 mins elliptical, 30 mins walk on treadmill and 15 mins stationary bike.

I feel great. Long day today. Big deadline this evening but a great way to start the day.

Happy Monday all!!
