DJ's road to 3 competitions in a row

Ok, Day 1 with Big Stew at the helm! Meals went great until I got tied up showing homes, which of course pushed my workout back about an hour. So, needless to say the idea of eating an hour before working out went right out the window...lol. The workout was interesting. I am not used to doing straight sets so it was very hard for me to wait between sets. In fact it's a pet peeve of mine at the gym, people just sitting there for minutes at a time and hogging the machines, I usually superset, so there I was doing what drives me nuts...lol. I was supposed to do T-Bar rows, we don't have that machine so Alex told me how to improvise. The gal at the gym flipped out as was carring the bar to a corner in the gym..so went those! I did barbell rows instead, sorry Alex! I loved the seated lat raises and the decline tri-extensions were fun too! Anyway, I finished the workout in about 30 minutes and had my PWO shake on the way home, now it's 9:30 and I still have dinner to eat and I'm not hungry...........I'm whinning aren't I.........heheheh. Thanks for listening have a great night and look for more adventures tomorrow!

Great job with the workout.
Some people just suck. Stick with the straight set they will pay off. Patience

Day 2
Went well, except I was soooo hungry! Not sure why, I'm eating more food now than I ever did this close to a competition! Alex don't be mad, I had 1/2 a shake BEFORE my workout. It had been too long since I had eaten to workout on an empty tummy. The leg workout was quick and easy. I woke up 3 times during the night, tummy growling. I was good and just kept going back to sleep!
Day 3
Just cardio today and the first time for the off day meal plan. OK, I'll admit it, the tuna was good with the salsa. Alex has earned a spot in the cookbook! I'm suprised I'm not that crabby today........low carb day....hehehe. Well, that's it for now, have a great night!

The Half shake is fine everyonce in awhile
What machine did you use for the cardio?
Told you so !! :) (about the Tuna)
The reason that you are not crabby is because of the high level of healthy fats that you take in on off days

Cardio on the Treadmill yesterday. I'm going to try to get out of the office early today, I have 3 clients to train at the pt studio tonight and I want to work out before I go over there. I will have my "old trainer" pinch my inches tonight, see if were getting any better! Have a great day!

2-3 TBSP Salsa

Drain tuna, mix well with salsa. Serve over spring mix and fresh cut veggies or on 100% whole grain bread for a perfect meal.

Hi everyone! had another busy day with the 55 "children" at the office. They wear me out more than my teenager does. Started training a brand new PT at the studio tonight, that's always fun! Today I am offically a month out from competition #1 for this year. Had my partner get the calipers out and pinch my inches. Dropped .8% and lost 1.5 lbs of fat, not bad since last week. Had a good workout, an Alex special, Back, a touch of chest, a bit of shoulders and a pinch of Bi's :). Meals actually worked with my schedule today. I was able to sneak out of the office early so I worked out at 4:30 instead of 7:30, that was a nice change. Have a great night!

That is great to hear about the BF lose. With the increased sets for each week you will lose a little more each week and are on track to being shredded for the stage.
Remember to send me your weekly report this weekend with pics and measurements.
Keep up the great work

So I have a P.S. to BF loss. My pinches total 31, on the chart we use at the studio I'm 13.8% how did he come up with 14.2%? He's the one who taught me, 14.2 isn't even on the chart in my age group. What the heck? Anyway, it's moving down so I'll just worry about that. Today was cardio day, I actually got up at 6:15am, amazing for me, did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I had all my meals on time, just 1 more to go, shake w/almonds/PB. Personally I like Almond butter much better than PB. Almost to the end of week 1 with Alex the Slave Driver.........lol.....just kidding I had an easy week compared to what I usually do! Have a great weekend everyone.

Dont worry to much about those caliper readings very inaccurate. Worry more about the mirror. Because ultimatly all that matters is what you look like on stage

Yes you are correct! It's just the principle of the whole thing I swear he tries to sabatoge me! And my best friend Rene, he does it to her too. Oh well that's why I'm with you now :) Have a fun weekend! Nite Nite

And here I am......day 6 of week #1. I think I did a "perfect" job! We'll see what Alex says when he see's the new pics tomorrow or should I say later today! I did have a bit of trouble with the lying leg curl substitution and the front squat....I am so un-coordindated but I'm working on it ;)

The front squats a great exercise. Once you get the form under control they will be a peice of cake and I have found some clients like them better than regular back squats once they get form squared away. The lying Leg Curls with the Db are always a tricky exercise but remember the harder the exercise the better it works. Cant wait to see the pics

heheheh..........maybe I should duct tape the DB to my shoes............I just had trouble keeping it between my feet, any tips besides the duct tape would be appreciated. lol

Yahoo! I made through week 1 with Alex, no problem! Just a couple of tweaks to my cardio and meal plan for week 2. Uping all sets to 4 for the week. I wasn't happy with my pics but I know you see things I don't Alex. Going to bed early tonight, not feeling all that great so take care all and have a great week.

Hi all, week 2 has begun! Alex changed my diet a bit, a little less fat and a little more protein. I don't think I'll eat any egg whites for a while after my competitons. Haha. My workout stayed the same except this week I do 4 sets of everything and up the weights a little, that went great. As usual I was the only female in the free weight area at my gym. I love the looks I get when I walk over there and then when I start lifting the looks change. Too funny!!!!!!! You males and your macho BS, tisk tisk...........lol. Have a great night everyone.

Come to my gym, I had a lady doing squats with 225 next to me today. Mother of 6 and all natural. She is a monster and will not compete because you had an eating disorder in the past and doesnt want to get to lean and worry about the way that you looks. She is still pretty ripped but throws around some mean weight.

I love it! There is an older lady I've seen around, she leg presses over 400 LBS. Probably 60ish and around 5'2" or so, pretty cool. Most of the "big boys" know me and we help each other so it's not them it's the guys who only do chest and bi's and think they are body beautifuls, mid-life crisis, balding, fat tummy, chicken legs.........lol. I get a big kick out of it! Look it's 6:30 am and I'm up to do my HIIT, it's a miracle! If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not a morning person! Have a great day!

I love the chicken leg bench presses. :yelrotflmao:
I love the morning. I wake up every morning 7 days a week and do my 30-40 minutes of fasted cardio on my exercise bike. It wakes me up and I am ready for the day
