Diary? EEK!

Thanks Cerella :). I was so excited!

Today I jumped rope for a half hour and did yoga. Now my back hurts?!? I don't know why. Maybe from carrying my neice around the store when we went shopping for our camping stuff.

Food
Breakfast
frosted mini wheats
Lunch- egg sandwich with cheese
dinner- spagetti with grilled chicken strips
snack- angel food cake with strawberries
snack- cup of steamed broccoli with cheese

84 grams protien. I accidentally added in a quarter cup of soynuts and then didn't have them, so it's not the 95 grams I was sooooo happy to see :(.

Thanks for stopping in Jellybelly. I do love to swim. Want a warm day? Move to WI. I wonder why I like summer so much? I can barely stand outside without feeling like I'm going to pass out from heat stroke.

And today, I ran because I woke up yesterday too late. One mile 9:51. Just doing one mile both days this week. Then I'll slowly up my time till I get to two miles now that I'm running the whole time rather than alternating running and walking.

I know what you mean! I get hot so easily. Thought I was going to die mowing the lawn today. My skin actually hurts when the sun hits it too long. I'm so fair, it's ridiculous. But I do have a mean farmers tan from my tanktops.

Great job running the mile!! I know when I run a mile, it is a grand achievement, and makes me so happy. Wasn't that long ago that I couldn't even run half a lap on the track. Do your thing girl! WHoo hoo! I can't wait to be up to running 2 miles without stopping.

Oh my, you are nuts to do the lawn in that weather. The lawn here is terrible, but I'm not doing it in that heat, I'm waiting untill tomorrow when it dries outside, and high of 85.

I can't run a mile right now, I'm too out of shape, both of you are doing fantastic :)

Sun, I'm putting strawberry protein powder in with my strawberries next time :). An excuse to eat even more angel food cake ;).

JellyBelly, you'll get to two miles! We'll both get there :). My goal for the end of summer is three because that's the length of the run for our hospital here. They usually do it in August or early September. I'm suprised I haven't seen anything for it yet. They BETTER do the run! Or I'll cry :).

Hi Prakas. I just stopped in to see you. You're getting there, too. Two pounds this time and soon JellyBelly and I will have you running with us :).

Morning Cerella! I've got to get over to you yet today. I didn't stop in yesterday. You'll see why in a minute...

So yesterday did my routine from Steve. And a quick shout out to Steve, Thanks!!!

I did the lower body one in the morning. Then I did nothing else all day except assemble my bench! So I have a bench in my house. My husband came home and said "I hope you don't expect me to put that together for you". Uhm, I was ALREADY putting it together on my OWN!!! So, when I got a bit stuck, I didn't ask for his help. But it's up and now tonight I've got to carry my weights in from the car.

Today I ran a mile again. This time... here it comes... I'm sooo proud... 9 min 37 seconds!!!! 14 seconds less than Monday. So, I'll be upping one min each run till I get to two miles.

Then I feel horribly ill today. I am allergic to dust. I'm having a horrible reaction to moving everything in my room to make room for the bench. I'm pretty anal about dust because of my allergy and misted the air with my water mister every half hour while I was moving things, but I'm not doing well. I took some claratin but it is NOT helping. This happened when I did my daughters room, too, but not quite so bad. I should be fine tomorrow, but feel like hell today. Almost didn't run but figured the fresh air and sucking it in like I was drowning might do my lungs some good. My runs pretty much are limited not by how my legs feel, but by how my lungs feel. I sometimes do literally feel like I'm drowning and my legs are feeling like they could go all day.

Food, on track. Almost didn't eat supper last night though because I lost track of time putting my bench together, so it was a late supper, but spagetti and garlic bread with soy balls for dinner :). Protien bar earlier. Grilled chicken for lunch.

Today one chicken breast for lunch and deep fried cheese curds (I am in WI after all...)
Protien bar again.
Frosted mini wheats again for breakfast. Really, I could eat the same thing every day and not get bored.
Supper hasn't happened yet.

I'll carry the 300 lbs of weights out of my car after dinner.

Thankyou for posting in my diary, I have a new diary since returning to the forum "countdown to competition" buy there is a lot of background in the old one:eek:

Hello everyone.
Goodbye everyone.

I'm just leaving for vacation tomorrow at 10 am!!! I'm so excited. The only crappy part will be going to a wedding on MY anniversary. Oh well. Thankfully we didn't wait till this April 7th to get married!

I'll be upping my running one min per day while I'm camping because I wont be able to measure my distance and because I'll be aiming to run two miles straight in 6 weeks anyway.

I'm going to do yoga and body weight workouts as well. Since I wont have weights, I was planning on doing some power stuff (or whatever it's called. I'm naming things here ;)) Like jump squats, lunge and jump to switch leg position'n'stuff. Push ups and tricep dips of course.

Yoga also includes a ton of upper body stability and some strength, too, so I think I'll have a good balance.

The WORST part, is seeing what my husband plans to bring for food on this trip! Seriously... I don't know how I'll be able to watch him eat or how we'll be able to eat at the same campsite (former vegetarian here). I've always, even before being a veg, hated pork products. And my husband is having tons of pork while we're down there. My chicken (and for the first time, ground turkey) is going to be contaminated by cooler sharing!!!

Okay, I'm not that insane, but pretty darn close ;). I don't want to share a cooler with pork OR beef products.

See you all on the 8th or 9th!!!

Have a happy week!!!

hey there michelle! hope your having fun on your vacations!! I just got back from mine!!
Take Care!!
see you soon :hug2:

I had a great time camping!!! And the campground had some nice trails. By nice, I mean really crappy, which was nice for me.

They had lots of up and downs. And the worst/best part was that the trails were filled in with sand. Sand, I've discovered, is NOT easy to run uphill on! Some parts had stones, and other parts just dirt, but tons of sand.

I cant wait till tomorrow to see if uphill/downhill running has improved my time at all. I'm still running for time, so we'll see how far I get in 15 min tomorrow :).

I've tossed any idea of calorie counting out the window for last week but did focus on protien intake. No day less than 80 grams :). Goal is 90, but 80 for a low day is not bad. With all the smores I ate though, I'm afraid to get on the scale tomorrow! Clothes still fitting great so maybe all the activity balanced at least some of the smores.

We climbed stairs for two days (waterpark). My daughter loved the new water rides! I couldn't see for either of them. I was wearing contacts and both rides started out with a nice big gush of water to the face. After the water coaster I couldn't open my eyes more than a squint for a few minutes. Not the greatest feeling, but the ride was fun. The next time we did it, I just kept my eyes closed for the whole thing and was able to see fine when we got off the ride :).

And today we went shopping before returning home. Spent all but 8 dollars, so think we did good :).

Thanks you all for stopping in while I was gone :). I missed ya'll!

Next week goals:
1. Continue protien focus and not worry much about calories.
2. Discover one rep max for my bench press. And increase it by the end of the month when I have to report to my friend. AND hope that I can out do her ;).

The camping thing sounds good.....Don't worry too much about the smores....During my womanly cycle mom and I had one of those small cakes for yourself from the grocery store....I was so afraid to weigh in the next morning but I didn't gain anything and I'm loosing still.....heh

I am so glad you had a good time camping, good luck with your running and you bench press :)

Protien is not going great today. Did much better yesterday. Today, lunch was a root beer float. I'm contemplating having that for lunch tomorrow, too... Protien was just chicken at supper and peanut butter at breakfast.

Tomorrow is a new day and I can recheck. Plus I think if I write out what I SHOULD have for breakfast and lunch, I'll do much better. Supper is never an issue, just breakfast and lunch. Wonder how a root beer float would taste with vanilla whey protien powder. I can call it lunch officially then, right? It'll have everything I need... Protien and dairy...

I write out my to do list for the next day and if I start adding in breakfast and lunch items, I think it'll really help. I'm going to start that today and see how it goes.

As for the bench press I did the bar plus 20 lbs. So if my bar is 40, then that was 60 lbs. If my bar is 45, then that was 65 lbs. I can definitely go heavier for my one rep max, but that was for 6 in a row and I think I could have added on another 5 lbs, but the arms were just a tad (okay, more than a tad) shakey at the end of the six, especially on that third set!

Sun, the smores were soooo good! I love them and want to make them at home. I'm holding out though on more smores. One lady in another group I'm in suggested making them with a candle or using heat from a stove burner... I was way to tempted to try out a candle at home to make them :).

Trusylver, thanks so much :). When I started my run on Monday morning here, my legs seemed to be asking where the inclines were. It seemed really easy on the legs this time around, but just as hard on the lungs. Still felt like a fish drowning out of water at the end of mile one. My time was nearly the same, but I'm not exactly sure where the one mile marker is on my two mile run. I didn't run the whole two either, only 15 min. Finished off with walking the rest so I can't really divide the time by two either :(. I'll be running two miles soon enough :).

Cerella, missed you tons, too! I've got to stop in and see how the job is going. And your puppy! And I figured out where I've heard the name before, on Late Nite with Conan O'brian. I had a huge crush on him as a kid... Weird person to have a crush on. I shouldn't even admit to that!
