Hi

Hi everyone, been really really busy at work, and yesterday I had to do my tasting for my research paper. Hmmm, no one seemed to really like the Sauv Blancs and Chenin Blancs, and the only red Sancerre I had (Pinot Noir) was kind of flat!

Been exercising like crazy, but I ate way too much for the past week and compounded with the period, my weight has gone up temporarily. I'm back on track, though. At least my fitness is amazing--to me, anyway! I can do so much with this body (excpet run, my skinless heel is slowly healing) I love it!!!

Saturday my BF and I poured wine on Santana Row in San Jo and I met Gary Pisoni! Several vintners use his Pinot Noir grapes from the Pisoni Vineyard. He looks like Benetio Del Torro's charater in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas--and had similar spastic head movements! A head full of black curls and a Hawaiian shirt! The BF and I were dressed real nice. This whol thing was outside. I got only a few wine snobs that didn't like the wines I was pouring--but since I was pouring Rombauer (among others), most people DID like them. The BF got drunk, we ate at a lovely bistro, and I drove home and we napped together. Sunday we tookt he Bf's mom to Bonny Doon winery to taste, then to a Thai restaurant.

My problem lately has been pissing me off: people keep waving cookies, chocolate and pastries in my face. Of course I don't ahve to eat it, but i did. Not no more!

I'm back

Hi everyone!

Down to business:

NEW RULE: Thous shalt eat no more than 1100 calories before 5pm (when I leave work).

Why?

Because it's been hindering my diet, that's why!

Junk food has been around the office too much. I'd find myself mindlessly snacking. I can change that by refusing to eat more than 1000 or so calories, which leaves room for a decent dinner, you know!! AND a glass of wine! I'd been consuming 1600, 1800 calories before I left work and then having my dinner, and eating to maintenance or OVER. So this is what I'm going to try--plus it leaves little leway for junk. That's a 400 calorie b-fast and lunch and a decent snack or a lot of fruit.

Working out everyday, loving it! Did kickboe yesterday and enjoyed myself greatly! Still not running, and it's actually making me grumpy--but I will in another week, after the skin on my heel grows back completely.

Up to 142.5 lbs from binge-eating all last week--according to my calculations I am up 7000 calories from that. That's only 2 lbs. Therefore, in several days my weight should go down to what it really is, 139 or so. I was 136.5 before the over-eating began. By laws of physics, I should be back to 138.5 or 139 by the time this bloat, water-weight, period-weight, and excess glycogen stores etc. goes away.

But as you well know, the scale defies the laws of physics sometimes.

If it was all calories-in, calories out I would be even lighter because I've been accruing deficits in the past several days and plan on it until I'm at least to 135! But when you binge-eat, especially eating out a lot with friends and drinking, it is HARD to access exactly how much you ate. I could be under-estimating, but I doubt it--I know I ate a lot but I doubt I could have eaten more than 7000 calories over my requirements in only 7 days. To the contrary, I was OVER-ESTIMATING, so when all the "fake weight" goes down I can see what is really the truth.

Anyway, I'm bummed out about being so behind in the journals!!! WAH, it's going to tak eme a LONG time.

My manager is on vacation, so I may be able to check things out more easily.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

Hi Val, good to see you back.

I would have a miserable time if I worked in an office. I can't stand all those cookies and candies around constantly.

Hope your manager doesn't read WLF!

Hi Tom!
Me too! But I really, really doubt she reads this. In fact, mopst people in my life have never heard of this place, nor would they want to even visit, and even so, they probably wouldn't have the patience to maneuver around--also, she's quitting!

The bungee will boing ya back ;)

I'm all about having a good time, I'm not all about going back to being a tub o' lard.

The CG Nation will prevail *puff puff pass pass* :rotflmao:

You'll get to us when you get to us Valerie. Work food can be tough. We can't snack during the day at school, but doughnuts do show up in the morning once or twice a month and I usually lose my willpower then. I think 1100 is a good goal. Boing back on that wagon :)

Thanks, Fellas!

Yesterday was good, I ate 1100 calories and then made a delightful wrap with fish and mangos and bell pepper and serrano chilis and avocado and cilantro with salsa--my current fav dinner. I had some Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon and wrote on my paper. Now I am finishing it for class tonight.

There was a huge accident on HWY 1 that I never saw yesterday when I was going to the gym from work--but was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes and missed the first part of kickboxing, so including my walk, I guess I only got 1 hour of exercise instead of the normal 90 minutes. At least I didn't touch chocolate! HA HA.

Weight is down another lb--this bloat is sinking. I think I'll be in the 130s again tomorrow, if not, then by the weekend. I'll be more relaxed to get back to where I was before my body decided,
"Oh Hey, Valerie, I think we should store some fat for the next famine,"
"Yo--there ain't gonna be a famine!"
"You never know."
Damn efficient body!

LMAO!! Curves your hysterical!! Shame on your body for storing all that unnecessary water!! "shame on you" Okay, now maybe that will shake it up a little and you will be back down in no time. Your body is so fit, I know even if you put on 4 pounds, I wouldn't notice it. Are you running in any new marathons soon? Is your kick boxing class using that punching bag thing?? We have a class at my gym, but they don't use that in there, it's all cardio kicking and stuff, but no punching or kicking bags, like I've seen on tv. I've been very curious to try it out, and they do offer and early class tonight, what do you think about your class?? And what muscles does it really focus on?? So many questions, I know and so little time to answer right?? I'm so happy to see you back on. I've missed YA!! :)

Gosh, Val....that wrap sounds so good. No wonder it is your current favorite!

Hope you got your paper completed. Have a good Thursday! (I know they are your busy days!)

I just think how much more I would have enjoyed school if I could have drank a bottle of wine and told everybody it was research :). Thanks for getting to my diary. You're so high energy.

Hi Kim!!
Let's see....thanks for the compliment, my body looks the same to me but for some belly distention, as can be expected. When I was binging I ate so much that every night I was stuffed, constantly! Ugh! I have never run a real marathon but short races are in my cards now, perhaps next year I will train for a real marathon. I hold this belief that while 6 miles is good for me, 10+ may not be. I dunno yet. June 16th I have a 10K trail run:

I have purchased REAL trail-running shoes. I am impatient to break them in. Damn heel. Our Kickboxing class DOES use hanging bags--they sure make my shins RED. My "Kickboe" class on Tuesdays doesn't use props but Psycho Michael has us do crazy thing like stick one leg in the air and kick for 2 minutes straight, or jump up and down and punch for minutes on end. Kicking and punching seem to work out all muscles, but especially quads, shoulders, butt, and back--to me it seems.

Steve, Tom, Beth, Cannon, Randy-- thanks for stopping by!!!

Yes this Thursday is weird because I am dasparately finishing my research paper. I skipped my morning weight training session to write! *GROAN* Tomorrow I am pouring wine at the local golf club's club house as a side job. I'm pleased about the extra $$ and free dinner. It's right after work so I'll have to wake up early tomorrow and do weights, then 2 jobs. Wow, I guess today and tomorrow are busy!

Funny Mention

So if you hate cliques and stereotypes and pigeon holes, stop reading. I realized something funny to me last night:

My boyfriend is a NERD.

Self-proclaimed, even. Got so excited about installing new firmware on his MP3 player/video player.....it was ridiculous! I was kissing him and was like, "So I never really thought to limit your personality to a type before, but I guess you are a nerd. What does that make me? A jock?"

And I froze. What a TRIP! :eek2:
All in high school I was a "stoner" who only dated other "stoner" boys. NOW, at 24, I am a jock dating a nerd.

WTF? LOL! :rotflmao:
