So you have mentioned champagne and your like for it a couple of timesI also know you work in the wine business right? So I am going to a wedding soon and they are talking about getting some kind of Italian champagne or a champagne-a-like - do you know anything about this and whether it's good? Thanks

The only good champagne is real Champagne form France--but the cheapest is $29.99 bottle, usually. Bummer! Italian sparklers, I don't know if they're good--I think "Cava" is Italian, and it's usually cheap and it tastes better than cheap American sparklers...but nothing beats the French! It's the cold climate ang high lattitudes, and their special technique pioneered by Madame Cliquot and the monk Dom Periognon.
