Weekend Part 1

It is so cool to come back here and see such attractive and wonderful visitors :grouphug:

Hmm, I have a lot to say to y'all, I'll start like this: I didn't get a proper workout in Sat or Sunday, and I chose not to run on my lunch break today--I think I'm a little tired from partying this weekend  I DID, however, wake up early and do Yoga, and I started with a smooth, slow, non-assisted standard headstand and didn't sway or fall or anything! :hurray: This weekend I drank enough to get actually drunk! But not enough to get hungover :) And I met a guy who made me feel butterflies, which I haven't felt from a guy in months :eek2:

I didn't track my calories :( And although I ate good stuff like steamed mussels for lunch on Sunday, Salmon salad for dinner on Friday and Sunday, I also had stuff like coffee ice cream and white chocolate creme brulee. It is not worth trippin' over, onward and upward! I'm always an :Angel_anim: during the week and a :piggy: on the weekend--but I HAVE THE POWER to change that. Don't worry! :biggrinjester: I chose not to weigh myself this morning because the number would definitely be higher than 145 methinks. SO yeah--make fun of me, I fell off my diet! :rotflmao: At least I had a fabulous weekend!...............I need more smilies, I'm breaking it down now:

part 2

My weekend was somewhat male-dominated. None of my female friends came out to play at all, so I took it upon myself to head to the Cypress Lounge Friday to give Sasa (the head honcho events planner) a bottle of Syrah and he almost shit a brick, he was so happy--so I got stamped and let into Cypress fo free. :D I saw my homeboy Süp there, which was a pleasure, and my buddy Nick ended up hanging out and I gave him a ride home since he lives in my hood in the mountains. It was great seeing his pitbull, Sunny, whom we took for a moonlit walk (sounds romantic but wasn't--Nick and I are definitely strictly platonic, and he even told me about this chick he started hooking up with from work). On Saturday I went back there straight after work and gave Mike Marquez of the Midtones (local Reggae band) a bottle of wine for his birthday, to which he happily received, and when I sat down at the bar and asked if there was a corkage fee, the bartender told me that normally it was ten dollars, but for ME, it was five. NICE!

Nick showed up again cause he loves Reggae and we had dinner at the bar, and as I was drinking this fine Pinot Noir, a cute boy next to me said, "So that's how you roll?" and I laughed and explained I was in the business, it was free, and I got a deal on the fee. Turns out the guy, also names Nick, is a Santa Cruz local (EAST SIDE) professional skate boarder (and at 28, that's pretty amazing!). And also super cool and fun to talk to, I hope I run into him again! As a side note, this is the first guy I've met who is actually cute (not much taller than me, curly brown hair, blue eyes, Polish descent, skater body mmh-hmm), who I hit it off with immediately, with a good personality, who's not too young, and is not a douchebag or a drunk or stupid or overly aggressive. He seemed VERY interested in what I had to say about myself, especially the belly dancing part ;) but he DID mention his EX-girlfriend used to make him do Yoga with her, and he admitted it really helped his skating as far as balance and poise. He lit up a :sifone: during the Midtones set right there inside the place and passed it to Mike while he was singing, which was pretty brave! After it went to about 4 people the bouncer politely told ME to take it outside (um, it wasn't mine! guilty by association :angelsad2:). The Cypress RULES! I felt really good, flirting and actually diggin' it--skater Nick seems pretty bright, spiritual, comprehensive, and just an all-around cool guy to know. Uh huh huh, also I was so physically attracted to him that celibacy seemed like Old News on a primal level. Haha. Yeah, I must admit it was kind of amazing to feel instantly smitten after so long of nuthin'--don't remember that feeling much! We talked a lot but didn't get around to saying "you have a girlfriend?" "what's your number?" "want to hang out sometime?" etc. It was like, played cool without either of us trying to play it cool. When I went to leave with Buddy Nick, however, I went to hug New Nick and he hugged me warm-heartedly and impulsively kissed my cheek :beating: I kissed his cheek back. We DID mention that we both started hanging out there on a regular basis, so at this point I say I'm not going to get high hopes or trip out, I'm just gonna relax and keep hanging out at Cypress, and if some cool-boy action falls into my lap, then there it is. Afterward, I made a stop at Giza to talk to DJ LB and co., but by that time I was pretty tired and ready for bed. The Dubstep was off the hook though! They made me puff hookah. Ugh! My lungs weren't happy Sunday :nopity: Sunday I worked at that wine festival on Santana Row, pouring, and hung out a bit with one of my favorite male sales reps, ALSO named Nick  Afterward I met up with Chris at the Cypress AGAIN for the....4th time in a row (wow--we had had dinner there Thursday) to watch my teacher and other belly dancers dance. I was so excited I had a great time, and we all got up and danced after the performances. A belly dancing COUPLE came up to me and asked if I was a dancer myself--nope I'm just learning! Nice to be mistaken for one, though. My teacher told me that in a couple months she wants ME to dance there with her! :eek2: Hell yes!

Weekend was loads of fun but calorie surpluses ensued. Back to business.....:gnorsi:

wow, sounds like you had a busy Nick filled weekend ;) good to hear you got the butterflies. :D always a great sensation to have.
sounds like you're kicking some serious tail with your dancing hun. if other people are coming up to you to ask if you're a dancer, you must be doing something right. ;) and congrats on the invite to dance with your teacher in the future. she must really be taking a shine to you. bravo chica!!
As far as you straying from your "diet" that's alright. no one said you had to hit it hard and perfect from day one. and coffee ice cream shouldn't count. anything that delicious should be free. :D I love it and freely admit to eating WAY more than I should. it's just one of those things I can't stop myself with. Though the white chocolate creme brulee sounds devine too...... I think I'll go search for a recipe, that sounds too good to pass up. :leaving:
Ciao bella!

Hey, Bun. I love working out at sunset. Unfortunately it's getting earlier and earlier. For watching, though, I have always preferred the sunrise. There is almost always no one around. It's like your own private show. Watch the world come alive, so to speak. It never fails to make my heart swell. :beating:

I live on the West Coast, I don't get a great view of the sunrise :( But awesome ocean sunsets. When I was in Samoa (Western, Savai'i, the village of Tito Manuese [tie-toe Man-you-eh-say, cool guy, hugged me and called me his girlfriend as a joke after I got my tattoo) I was on the north coast of the island, and it was the southern hemisphere's winter, and from my position on the beach, I could watch the sun rise over the water on my right, travel over me in the sky, and set over the water on my left. It was one of the greatest experiences I've had--so zen. Just doing nothing except laying on the beach from sunrise to sunset. Ah! You can see in this map that Savai'i's north coast is pretty straight Image:Samoa Country map.png - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and in my thread some photos: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/off-topic/10711-photography-show-offs-3.html#post223437

TNothing quite like quiet relaxing conversation on a summer's eve with a drink in your hand, while watching nature's splendor spreading across the sky in front of you.

True dat! :iagree:

LOL, for some reason my cleavage doesn't get the same reaction, hehe ;)

:smilielol5: Oh, YOU! :hug2:

Your life sounds so fun, always out to cool social events ;)

All I seem to do these days is get up, workout, go to work, come home and workout, then sleep. Poor me :D

HI! That was ME, in the month of September. I needed to come out of my shell lately....thanks!

I can't wait to see the ocean and walk in the sand for the first time!
If we could ever catch up 'round here, we could start saving for a vacation!
lol

Maybe '09' will be our year for good things to happen finally!? :sifone:

I have every hope and prayer for you and your family that it WILL be. :smash: You never been to the ocean? :( Your day will come!

Thanks for droppin' by with the "RAH!" Bunny. I always appreciate it!

Of course! You're a rockstar

HAHA, belly dancing is making breakin' actually look DOABLE, LOL  Everyone's Dubsteppin' styly is different. I try to SLLLLLOOOOOOOW it down and move like I'm swimming in honey :D

MORNING GORGEOUS!!!!!! :sifone:

Morning, Sunshine! :) Hey--I'M the LEO here! :smash:

No kidding! Nicks all over the place! :smash:
Thank you! People really seem to think I "got it" with the BD. Chris said I looked as good as most of the other dancers that night when I was gettin jiggy after the show. I have the top portion of my body in good order, I need to work on the STEPS and then putting the two together with isolations. I FLOW well and do Camel and Snake Arms pretty good! :D But time and practice will tell. Like you said, the most important thing is I LOVE it, and want to do it all day!

I live on an island with a southern beach. The sun rises over the ocean and set over the ocean. Always a great thing. My house has woods to the east, so the sunrise is watching the beams of sunlight pass through the branches; very cool. To the west is a working farm, so the sky is unobstructed. We make a game out of finding the "best" sunset. One of the kids will come running in to make us go out to watch it. It's always the "best."

Now I'm going to Sammy's diary to catch up, too. :D

Wow, your weekend sounded pretty exciting! It's so nice when new adventures happen to us to help us mix it up a bit :) The guy I met's name is actually Rick (almost Nick, hehe).

I hear you on the hookah smoke... I used to smoke hookah a ton summer before this last one. I've tried a little since then and I can't really hang anymore, lol... I always feel like i have hardcore kennel cough the next day :puke: Anymore I'm a one or a two hit wonder :biggrinjester:

Awesome news on the belly dancing. Things just seem to be getting better and better with that ;)

-Sam

Thank you, Sam!

Haha Rick IS pretty close to "Nick"--btw I am sooooo happy for you, I know you have waited and "saved yourself" for a long time, all patiently. Me too! With hope, I'll get lucky as well :D

You will ;) Good things come to those who wait... He doesn't exactly know how long I've waited... I might have to clue him in on a few things tonite. I feel kinda weird and out of it a little bit. I've talked to some of my friends and they say they think it's normal...

Is your pinky in the air when you swill your drink Cabbie?!? :D Just an elbow about the "summer house" ;)

Thanks for droppin' by with the "RAH!" Bunny. I always appreciate it!

Of course it is, and it has to be a fine cognac also, served whilst I puff on my meerschaum pipe.

Umm... more like Sam Adams. No pinkies.

Another exciting weekend for Curvie!!!

Sad? Naw, being married is great, assuming you married the right one.
