Hey Val, looks like you are again, pushing your personal envelope as far as possible.

You know, I love popping in here to check out all the interesting stuff going on , but, at the end of the day, I enjoy reading about all the ways that you ae constantly pushing yourself forward in the quest to be a better you.

Okay, enough serious crap, (looks around for a second), what kind of mischief can I get into?

My weekend was somewhat male-dominated. None of my female friends came out to play at all, so I took it upon myself to head to the Cypress Lounge Friday to give Sasa (the head honcho events planner) a bottle of Syrah and he almost shit a brick, he was so happy--so I got stamped and let into Cypress fo free. I saw my homeboy Süp there, which was a pleasure, and my buddy Nick ended up hanging out and I gave him a ride home since he lives in my hood in the mountains. It was great seeing his pitbull, Sunny, whom we took for a moonlit walk (sounds romantic but wasn't--Nick and I are definitely strictly platonic, and he even told me about this chick he started hooking up with from work). On Saturday I went back there straight after work and gave Mike Marquez of the Midtones (local Reggae band) a bottle of wine for his birthday, to which he happily received, and when I sat down at the bar and asked if there was a corkage fee, the bartender told me that normally it was ten dollars, but for ME, it was five. NICE!

Nick showed up again cause he loves Reggae and we had dinner at the bar, and as I was drinking this fine Pinot Noir, a cute boy next to me said, "So that's how you roll?" and I laughed and explained I was in the business, it was free, and I got a deal on the fee. Turns out the guy, also names Nick, is a Santa Cruz local (EAST SIDE) professional skate boarder (and at 28, that's pretty amazing!). And also super cool and fun to talk to, I hope I run into him again! As a side note, this is the first guy I've met who is actually cute (not much taller than me, curly brown hair, blue eyes, Polish descent, skater body mmh-hmm), who I hit it off with immediately, with a good personality, who's not too young, and is not a douchebag or a drunk or stupid or overly aggressive. He seemed VERY interested in what I had to say about myself, especially the belly dancing part but he DID mention his EX-girlfriend used to make him do Yoga with her, and he admitted it really helped his skating as far as balance and poise. He lit up a :sifone: during the Midtones set right there inside the place and passed it to Mike while he was singing, which was pretty brave! After it went to about 4 people the bouncer politely told ME to take it outside (um, it wasn't mine! guilty by association :angelsad2:). The Cypress RULES! I felt really good, flirting and actually diggin' it--skater Nick seems pretty bright, spiritual, comprehensive, and just an all-around cool guy to know. Uh huh huh, also I was so physically attracted to him that celibacy seemed like Old News on a primal level. Haha. Yeah, I must admit it was kind of amazing to feel instantly smitten after so long of nuthin'--don't remember that feeling much! We talked a lot but didn't get around to saying "you have a girlfriend?" "what's your number?" "want to hang out sometime?" etc. It was like, played cool without either of us trying to play it cool. When I went to leave with Buddy Nick, however, I went to hug New Nick and he hugged me warm-heartedly and impulsively kissed my cheek :beating: I kissed his cheek back. We DID mention that we both started hanging out there on a regular basis, so at this point I say I'm not going to get high hopes or trip out, I'm just gonna relax and keep hanging out at Cypress, and if some cool-boy action falls into my lap, then there it is. Afterward, I made a stop at Giza to talk to DJ LB and co., but by that time I was pretty tired and ready for bed. The Dubstep was off the hook though! They made me puff hookah. Ugh! My lungs weren't happy Sunday . Sunday I worked at that wine festival on Santana Row, pouring, and hung out a bit with one of my favorite male sales reps, ALSO named Nick  Afterward I met up with Chris at the Cypress AGAIN for the....4th time in a row (wow--we had had dinner there Thursday) to watch my teacher and other belly dancers dance. I was so excited I had a great time, and we all got up and danced after the performances. A belly dancing COUPLE came up to me and asked if I was a dancer myself--nope I'm just learning! Nice to be mistaken for one, though. My teacher told me that in a couple months she wants ME to dance there with her! :eek2: Hell yes!

Weekend was loads of fun but calorie surpluses ensued. Back to business.....:gnorsi:
Woaaa,...I stay off line for just a Second and your life is rolling out of my hands!!!! Wooooa...come back!!!!!! LOL!!! So Yeaaaa.....in for FREE is the SHIZO!!!!!! The wine will get people I tell ya,...you would melt my heart like that too!!!!....hahaha!!!.....Damn VINOs though!!! ;) I'm so excited for you meeting someone there!!! Sounds HOT!!!!!It'll give it that little spark of anticipation the next time you go for sure!!!! I'm sure he was thinking "NICCCCCCCCCE" himself!!! :drool5:

Like you said, during the week, it's CLEAN DAYS,....not that I plan to get drunk every weekend...but allowance of a little moderation is A-OK!!! PURE SUNSHINE!!!

Tee hee! Shandy and Karl, sitting in a tree :p DOING YOGA AND BELLY DANCING!!!! :cheers2: Hahaha

I enjoy reading about all the ways that you are constantly pushing yourself forward in the quest to be a better you.

Thanks! :D YES! That's what I'm all about, I want to be a better person in all ways I can think of. We'll see how it goes....maybe I'll make it to Wiseoldsagedom in my "autumn years." :biggrinjester:

Mmmmh, beeeeeer! :cheers2: It is OK to get drunk once in a while. Plenty aiight, just not a bunch of times a week, every week! Right? You rock and rule, baby! :hug2:

It's awful, sometimes he can't talk and just sits there and winces

Thanks! And interesting! You're not weighing? Guess you don't have to ;)

HAHA! :hurray: This is seriously the best news I've heard in a while. I actually was thinking about it this morning when I was driving to work, and I don't even know you in person! :biggrinjester: Watch out, you may............fall in love....

To be honest Val, I sometimes think about you and I don't know you in person... I wonder to myself, what is Val up to tonite? :) We just connect like that I guess.

I'm just not a fan of the scale... My weight would probably fluctuate so much that it would make or break my day too often. I don't really avoid the scale, I just don't weigh in... and when I do it's on the same scale at the gym I go to. I even own a scale that I haven't stood on in almost 2 years I would imagine... I know when I've been bad though because my clothes feel tighter and I don't feel as tight or lean. Just my thing I guess. Weighing in everyday or weekly works for a lot of people though and probably keeps them more honest and on par than me, hehe.

Awww, sweet! :D I find myself thinking about of lot of people on here, at times, ya know? Especially when you see something in meatspace that someone on here mentioned? Or like, you hear about an issue that someone here has talked about? But tee hee! I'm up to a lot at night! Uh, more lately than last month!

:eek2: OMG! :eek2:

This youtube video of the Electric Boogaloos dancing to the Bar Kays is probably one of the greatest Youtube videos IMO that I've seen :drool5: I seriously, seriously want to continue on with my belly dancing and experiment with hip hop--I dance to hip hop anyway, but my moves are hardly this careful and concise. Of course, the E.B. are doing a choreographed dance, not improvision. Well, not so much--each Boogaloo has his own specialty and they mention it in the beginning, and it takes a while for them to get warmed up, but if you stick wit it, you get to see each one come up and do his thang and it's brilliant. Just brilliant, one of them looked like a straight robot fo sheezy  Trust me, if you're one bit funky like I am.....

That video was awesome! So interesting and cool the way the moves look. The climber girls I was hangin out with last night went to this crazy bootcamp thing at their gym and then came home to dance, lol... They turned on the MTV Jams channel and were trying to learn the moves to the Michael Jackson "Remember the Time" music video... the one where he still looked half way human but was kind of teetering on the edge, lol :)

I don't suppose you have a video of that dance you are doing in your avitar pic? You seem halfway through a move and I keep wanting to see what happens next! LOL

Morning Val.

Careful with all that stuff you're doing when you first rise in the morning. Many yoga moves can really stress the back... which is fine. Just not first thing in the morning. That can cause some troubles for some.

You mentioned something about pain or something and wasn't sure if any of it had to do with that back.

Haha--I kind of do, too--I don't know what I look like when I'm dancing to Dubstep--that was also before I began belly dancing on a regular basis. It was an on-the-fly picture :D

Oh that's sweet of you! No, I have ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WITH MY BACK, especially since I started doing more Yoga. I have been in 3 cars that have been rear-ended badly, one totaled, and in that one I was in the back seat with no seatbelt. I'd been in another 2 car wrecks that the car was also totaled. So I've experienced whiplash, and I think I dealt with it by resting, sleeping with a towel under my neck, and resuming exercise pretty quickly. Like, a month after the bad accident I had severe neck pain for a day, but it's been a year since any accidents, and I never, ever, ever have back or neck pain anymore--and Yoga is very demanding on both. My neck and back are incredibly strong, I do and hold lots of poses that may look bad for it, but apparently it isn't.

The morning things, I keep mellow and to standing asanas, but the headstand first thing feels good and gives me no issue. Yesterday I did a total of, oh, 5 headstands, each one lasting no more than about 60 seconds, or I don't really know but they weren't that long. My neck and back feel good as usual.

The pain was in my hips. I'm working on opening them. It is something that doesn't really hurt in a bad way, just hey--try to do side or saddle splits, and you know what I mean!

Fetish Ball 2009

I've been thinking about Next Year's SF Fetish Ball. For those of you who don't know, I went last year and had a blast--it wasn't so much sexual as it was naughty and deviant with costumes. Loads of fun, and a fashion show too.

I have experience with Sadomasochism. The tendency was in me and I didn't know it or practice it until I met my last ex boyfriend, and he was in the same circumstance. Before me, he'd been with prudish girls. Before him, I'd been with unimaginative, non-experimental, unsure-of-themselves guys. The second time we had sex (the first was slightly awkward because we both couldn't believe it was happening, as we had been platonic friends for 3 months before I dumped my then-boyfriend and we hooked up 2 weeks later) we tried a number of kinky, playful things that we always wanted to try but never got to, and it rocked both our worlds. In day to day life, he was a sweet, nice gentle guy--and I was an assertive, forthright and slightly Alpha female. Not at all the case in bed together! But after we broke the ice with our kinky sides, we got out of control. I can't get into it because I don't want to, but he is definitely a dom and I was definitely a sub and a masochist. Not anymore. :smash: It's too dangerous on my psyche--the damage was done before I even realized that my self esteem and self worth were at risk. Mind you, all was consensual and the ex isn't to blame or at fault. You might think that's fishy but I tell you, I was a FREAK! And very convincing.

I'm fine now, but I still love the entertainment and freakiness of the underground San Francisco BDSM BDSM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia culture. I think it's because I'm an anthropologist with off-the-beaten-path interests ;) Last year I had so much fun I can't begin to describe.

This year, from influence from belly dancing, I want to dress like a beautiful harem girl belly dancer, but in kinky gold chains, and I wanted a scary-looking Dom to be my Master for the night. We would not be having sex, this would just be role-play at the Fetish Ball (usually held in the famous Grand Ballroom on Van Ness and Sutter). I figure I could be led around and commanded to dance or get on my knees or whatever, for various other guests at the party, by my Master.

My problem was finding a Master who wouldn't get carried away or expect anything from me other than a fun time playing dress up at an adult party.:angelsad2:

Last night after Yoga (yesterday I belly danced very very hard, getting quite a workout! And Yoga was rough, as usual, Delana is a sadist herself!) I stopped at the Boulder Creek Brewery for the first time in a few months, and Graham was working. He's 6'1", turned 33 October 1st, blond, bearded, very goofy and funny and smart with a horrible Scottish accent that I can hardly understand. We get along quite well. I mentioned the Fetish Ball and then it came to me: Graham would make a great dom! I suggested it and he was all for it. But I told him he had to get a more grim demeanor because he's pretty fucking bouncy and goofy and silly. He agreed. When I told him my idea he said it reminded him of Star Wars and princess Leia. I was like, "oh shit, it's been done before!" I was almost in despair :( But I still want to continue with my costume plan, besides, I'm a much better dancer than that bitch, and my costume is going to be much different.

Anyway, that's the idea!

143.5 lbs this morning! :eek2: I told you, Luteal Phase!

Trops: side splits aren't really a Yoga move that I've ever seen. Weird. Front splits are in Hanumanasana, fo sho, but I never really seen saddle splits as a particular asana. That's more what, gymnastics? Martial Arts? Ballet? Lord knows more people get injured doing those activities than Yoga!

Excitement factor rising!!!!!

Now you got me thinking about the Next Year's SF Fetish Ball as well LOL

Hey Val,

So interesting about the Fetish Ball. I bet you had a blast. That Graham guy sounds pretty interesting. I always love meeting people with accents, especially from Ireland/Scotland/England :)

Have a great day!
