Whoa I forgot a few things
I didn't mention a few things from Tuesday. My teacher has THIS going on:
One of my belly dance colleagues, Janette Brenner, is putting together a tv series and I am the featured belly dancer this month. This is her 3rd episode, and she plans to use clips from these first shows to create a pilot to pitch to networks. She already has some interest from A & E and the Discovery Channel.
But, the fun thing is that, you can watch this all happening LIVE this Friday, either online, or be part of the studio audience. The show is on a tight schedule, and is not more than an hour long.
I will be the opening dancer, and Rebekah and the Brunette Beauties (my troupe) will close the show.
On Tuesday they were interviewing her as part of a documentary. I showed up early on accident, and got to watch the interview, then after, Rebekah put on music and her and I started dancing and
THEY FILMED US AND THERE IS A SLIGHT POSSIBILITY THAT THEY MIGHT USE SNIPPETS OF THAT ON THE DOCUMENTARY THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL TO A MAJOR TV NETWORK!!!!! Haha, slight chance, but I could be on TV belly dancing

They also filmed her teaching our class. So cool! I can't wait to see the documentary
Yesterday Chris and I were at the farmer's market, and someone tapped my back and handed me a flier. He acted like he knew me, and it took me a second to recognize that it was a DJ from the Cypress Lounge that I've seen a bunch of times but never talked to. Well, he was trying to promote Reggae/Dancehall/Dub on Thursday nights, which is, of course, today! Remember how I met and instantly fell in like with that Nick guy last Saturday? Well, Nick had mentioned he likes to go there for Reggae nights, which is obviously Thursday.....well! Not only was I planning on going there for dinner with Chris tonight, but I wanted to "run into" Nick again, too, AND DJ Rudi himself was telling me to come
I have a good feeling about this. Only problem is it doesn't start until TEN pm!

I have a 45 minute drive home, and got to be at work at 8am, so yeah....I'd only be able to stay for an hour at most and still be tired at work. No matter, we'll see. Also, Friday there is a hip hop show there that Sasa invited me to: $10 cover, $7 with a can of food. I'll bring the food and maybe another bottle of wine to see if I can pull the same trick as last time and get my cover waived. Should give the bouncer a bottle, too, he's really cool.
OK, wish me luck!
