Oh right, and I lucked out with the BD in the way that my 2-paned closet is entirely mirrored :D Would be a boon if I had a boy over :reddevil: but no such luck. No matter, I'm not particularly lonely--I've got YOGA and DANCING and RUNNING etc., to distract me! Haha, I'll probably break down and try to find a lover eventually. I'm sort of optimistic about my luck, though.

I do anything from Egyptian traditional to African tribal, to tribal fusion. I'm an eclectic dancer like that. I throw all kinds of stuff in all at once. I've never been one to stick to just one style.
mmm, mirrored closet. every dancer's dream(well mine at least). and hey, I don't know a single guy that would complain about it either. :D

in the cute I'm-a-three-year-old way. Ashleigh(my eldest) kinda wiggles and spins in a fairly decent imitation, Elena(she's 1) just kinda bounces up and down and stomps her feet. very cute. and yes I have every intention of teaching them how to bellydance if they show an interest. that was the best thing my mom did for me as a kid.

OK, what I've noticed:

SO I wanted to get this out of my head and into "the public". I have noticed that my exercises of choice compliment each other:

Running by far compliments my stamina in kickboxing drills.

Kickboxing seriously keeps my legs toned and is a great HIIT that compliments my racing (although if I really want to improve my racing times, I need to suck it up and actually DO running HIIT)

Yoga stretches out my body that gets tight from running and keeps my knees healthy.

Yoga opens my hips and has improved the height of my side kicks (btw I noticed a lot of people in class do a weird roundhouse-sidekick lovechild kick that doesn't look that great for the knees)

Belly dancing has made me feel less macho and manly with all the KB and running :D and compliments the Yoga.

Yoga compliments everything by balancing out the muscles of my body and keeping me strong, especially in inversions and twists.

Yoga also keeps me limber for belly dancing.

Yoga improved my balance for certain KB drills.

Belly dancing hits my hips and outer thighs like no other exercise and improves my Yoga by strengthening my weak spots.

That's the best kind of exercise set-up. you're well balanced and constantly improving in one way or another. and you're enjoying it! that's the best part

Thank you, I'm really pleased! It always felt like something was missing in my workouts, somehow....but the truth of the matter is: I don't have children, I don't have a man, I have all my spare time to myself, so I'm going to devote that to my fitness while things are the way they are. I never quite know what to expect in my life. Some people are psychic--not me! I have intuition about things, but usually it's short termed, like, within the next 24 hours :D. My current lifestyle is really much better than when I was drinking and macking on ho-boys as much as I could! LOL! It was fun and served it's purpose, but this is much better because I'm relying on myself to feel good, not outside things :D

which is probably better for the long run. making yourself happy and whole is a lot more satifying and longer lasting than using outside influences. though those outside influences are a blast every now and again. :D

well it certainly looks like you've made a good change, so bravo!
and now, I'm off to bed. it's 2am and the kids don't come with a snooze button. :D
Take care and good luck with those evil zills. :reddevil:

Here in a bit, I'm getting off my ass and over to Mountain View to hang out with my dear friend S. and watch the old Japanese PRIDE Ultimate Fighting Championships (bought out by the UFC in March last year). It's nice to be lazy and relax. I really really am craving cardio right now.....weird, huh? But I'm saving myself for the half marathon that I've been going on and on and on non-stop about.

It must be really important to me. My first time!!!

I dunno, I just think running 13.1 miles straight (uh, that's the plan, I dunno if I'll have to stop and walk or what!) is a major accomplishment. Several people on this forum have done it and I'm in awe. In fact, LovelyLadyHumps is doing the same damn halfer, and I didn't even figure that out until today! That's what you get for neglecting the diaries of Senior Members :p

I'm excited to watch PRIDE, S. has them on DVDs and the res is great--Youtube and stuff has terrible resolution for fights and of course it's limited to 10 minutes at a time.

I have fantasies about being an Ultra-Marathon runner, a boxer, mixed martial artist, a Yogi, and a dancer. Mind you, these are just fantasies. The Yogi thing is closest to anything else, I'm actually pretty darn good and spend more time with Yoga than anything else (still, I can't do an unassisted headstand and it's really eating me today :cuss:). There is SOMETHING TO being very fit. The hard work and sweat and endorphins......it's all DRUGS :drooling: to me. There is a very interesting altered state of consciousness that I find addicting. Way better than getting high :sifone: or drunk :cheers2: or anything else :willy_nilly: :chillpill:  :jump: :pumpkin: IMO, and then what happens? Ya end up with a fit body that people seem to admire!

I'm not perfect and my body is never going to be model material; however, my addiction to exercise, and an eclectic sort at that, has made my body interesting enough to where if I'm shopping in my yoga clothes I get stares and stuff. This is a boon. I stated exercising to be hot; I continue exercising because it's now a drug with serious rewards. Everytime I place in a race, manage an asana I never did before, have a great kickboxing session, or manage a set of 10 nearly perfect barbell squats with 115 to 135 lbs, I feel good about myself. And years ago I was a chubby party girl with asthma and couldn't jog a mile without walking.

This is cool. Everyone, no matter what you weigh, keep exercising. You might not be Jessica Alba or Matthew McConaughey BUT the rewards are even better--happiness and NO paparazzi!!!

The days are all blurring together. I think I mixed it up with the race that my sister wants me to do with her tomorrow. Ok, I'm straight now. ( and don't talk to me about pizza. I could eat a whole grandma pie right now.)

PIZZA PIE!!! :D

After I hiked the 16-20 miles up Half Dome and back this July (we started at a weird spot), I ate pizza and drank beer. Best fucking beer and pizza I ever had in my life!!! :drool5:

Have I ever told you about the grandma pie that they make here? :drool5: There is a wood fired prick oven pizza place about a mile from my front door. The grandma pie is a thin crust square pie with the sauce is really roasted crushed tomatoes. :drool5: Fresh real mozzarella. :drool5: Garlic, garlic, and more garlic. :drool5: Wonderful aromatic olive oil. The crust is like a giant flat olive oil and garlic bread. :drool5: When I say I could eat a whole one, it isn't an exaggeration. I eat piece after piece till there really isn't any left. :svengo:
