Wow... awesome job on the half marathon! :hurray::willy_nilly: Here I was happy I could actually RUN on the treadmill the other day for a few minutes without passing out... I'm such a wuss when it comes to running.

So... marathon running, mixed martial arts, yoga, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, belly dancing... and now rock climbing? I dig how eclectic your activities are.

Once upon a time there was a little funny chubby hunny bunny who liked to hop and play but didn't know exactly what her capabilities were. Chubby Bunny liked to run as fast as she could because she found, she was pretty good and it felt good, too. :) Chubby Bunny enjoyed fun races with a small amount of other bunnies who liked to do the same stuff she did. But she never tried to go very far.

One day Chubby Bunny signed up for a Half Marathon, which was like, 13.1 miles. Chubby Bunny thought that was a Long Way and she had never tried it before even though her bunny book told her she should be running that distance and even MORE in training. The night of the race Bunny stayed up because her friends were very loud and she couldn't sleep. She only slept 2 hours, then went to the Start Line......

Anyway, sorry I'm still on a runners's high or something.

13.1 miles in 1:41 something!!! YAY! :hurray:

That's about 7:45 minute miles for 13 miles straight! AND I feel like a badass because:
-In the first miles I stopped at the Port-a-Potties and took a piss :D
-In mile 7 I was shocked that I kept getting fast and faster and passing people and it was easy for me, so I decided to SING Rick James Mary Jane.
-In Mile 8 I sang Give it to Me Baby by Rick James
-In mile 9 I did a heel-click (jumped up and touched my heels together on one side before I landed)
-In the last 4 miles I realized I was damn tired of running!!! :( But my legs kept going. I had to remember to straighten up and make sure I wasn't flipping my feet out or down, hard (the key to running is good form IMO, and I'm constantly making sure I'm not favoring one side, or anything)
-I was absolutely sick and tired of running in the last 2 miles, especially the last 1.1 miles, but when I reached the finish line I was SO HAPPY I DID 4 HEEL CLICKS, ALTERNATING, AS I PASSED THE FINISH LINE AND SACRIFICED A FEW SECONDS BECAUSE I WANTED TO ENTERTAIN PEOPLE AND I GOT THE ATTENTION OF THE ANNOUNCER WHO SAID MY NAME AND PLACE I'M FROM, YAY!!!!
-My body is fine. I went to Whole Foods and splurged on a salmon Ceasar salad, champagne (sparkling wine from Sonoma), Triple Cream cheese and Franchese bread :D

I DECIDED I'M GOING TO RUN A MARATHON SOMEDAY NEXT YEAR, AND NOT JUST ANY MARATHON, BUT THE WORLD RENOWNED BIG SUR MARATHON THAT PEOPLE RUN AND NEVER RUN AGAIN......HELL AND BACK, 26.2 MILES!

HOLY SHIT!!!! Miss oh I don't think Ill finish!! Yeah whatever!!! You're fucking amazing Val!!! Makes me want to ruuuunnnnnnnn!!!!!

Sorry I am waaay late in posting this... you know life!!! Under 8 min miles is down right impressive and I would buy your ass a drink if I were there!!!

I hope your week is going well and hopefully you can walk!!:waving:

Belly dancing now has a priority, I simply MUST practice and improve!

I'm going to start rock climbing, hopefully this weekend.

I'm going to resume running, but not for a few days--tomorrow is BD and Yoga, Wednesday I want to weight train (YAY! :D) and Yoga it up, and Thursday I want to Kickbox with Psycho Michael (AND Yoga 2). Friday seems like a good time for a trail run :)

I'm going to try to weight train 2 days a week, again, like I did--this will most likely bring my running down to 2 days a week, which is fine--Kickboxing makes 3 days of intense Cardio.

And that's the plan. In a month or so I'll read up more of my book and my Personal Trainer's Handbook on marathon running and decided if and when I want to start training.....

This is what I/and more people need to do... diversafication!! You'll never get bored with all those fun/healthy activities. I know you will see great results while having fun and learning a lot. Later Bunny.

:nopity: Just keep doing it if your body will let you, you'll get better! All the World Champion boxers run, and they are considered some of the most fit people on the planet!

Thank you, it didn't used to be this way--I was stuck in a "running, weight training, and kickboxing" rut--had to mix it up, my body wasn't responding the way I wanted anymore.

Under 8 min miles is down right impressive and I would buy your ass a drink if I were there!!!

I'd TAKE that drink :D :beerchug: Thanks for the shout out :hug2:

Wow, thanks--and good point! I always read about adaptation and "ya gotta mix it up" and blah blah blah. Of course, I liked my routine and I was stuck in a comfort zone--now I'm ready to change it up, and yes, I think my body is reacting the way I want, now!

wow!! that really impressive Val!!! I'm soooo proud of you :D

:beating: Thanks Korrie!

Trops & Garn: Haha! Ya crazy fellas, ya ;)

This morning I was pleased that I was able to hobble to the basement and do laundry, although it was like I was all of a sudden 80 year old. Like I said, I am NOT injured, so I thank my lucky stars or ancestors or genetics to have a body like this.

LOL! I was hobbling too. My thighs felt really stiff. I had to go to the doctor to do a sleep study on Monday, and I walked in like I was an 80 year old too!

My hobbling went away monday, whew! How do you feel now? My legs feel stronger already!

Ooooooh So I got inspired last night by you to try belly dancing! It was ON DEMAND on tv exercise! Gotta tell you, it's harder than it looks.....did about 20 minutes of it.....:) I SHAKE EVERYWHERE, and when I'm already in another move via waist...my ass is still finishing the remainders of the last move!.....WHOA !!!!!! TOO MUCH JUNK IN THE TRUNK!!! Gotta Change that SOON!!! :svengo: LOL!!!

Hey, fellow half-marathoner! :D
My legs were sore on the quads and calves, but yesterday I belly danced and did Yoga, and the soreness miraculously went away! Today it's like that run never happened! :eek2:

Nothing miraculous about some active recovery.

Hi Steve!

Trops: I can have a crush if I want to, hell, it's been YEARS--might as well--I feel all high off of it, anyway--gives me something to fantasize about. haha, and he IS Russian--Tatiana confirmed they are "into" extramarital affairs. Juuuuuuuuuuuussssssst kidding!
