SWEET DROP, VAL!!!!!

I'd look anorexic if I was under 140 pounds ... :(

Good for you to get back into the belly dancing thing! Do you have time to add it to your already overbooked schedule? :D

Hi Maureen darling! :hug2: Thank you!!

I think I still look aiight, I'm hoping to stay around 140 (or even drop lower but not bloody likely) by the end of the challenge so I can see how I look with a 5 lb difference. If the general consensus is that I look too skinny, well I'll just have to fatten up :D HAHA! JK! ;) but that would be fun, though.

I DO have time for belly dancing, I actually never really took a break from it although come March I'll be taking classes 2 classes a week instead of 1! :D With two different teachers.

That'll be good. Getting instruction from more than one teacher (especially in the arts) is really great because you can stand to learn so much more.

Get your zils out, and start shaking it baby! Do you have a nice belly dancing costume? I purchased one years ago, emerald green, and got a seamstress to sew on a bazillion coins and beads on the bra and belt. All I had to do was breathe and it made noise :D

Thank goodness the costume looked good, because I sucked ass at belly dancing. I really needed the costume to compensate for my lack of talent :p

LOL! Shandy said once "I'd rather see a shitty belly dancer in a nice costume than a better belly dancer in a shitty costume" or something to that effect!

I have some black genie pants with slits on the sides, lined with gold circles and thread, and a very nice royal blue and gold sequined butterfly backless top--that's my nicest outfit, otherwise I have a violet, a red, a black, and a brown top of different styles but nothing REALLY fancy, and a black skirt I use quite a bit while practicing. I really should got some pictures in!

You are absolutely right about multiple teachers, and the same goes for Yoga. I've learned SO much because I've practiced with about 8 different instructors in the past few months, and each one has taught me a different way of doing things with different perks. When it comes to belly dancing, also, my teacher is a young 40 years old--but my other teacher is 29 and does some hop hop fusion in her work. I'm DOWN with that!

seriously envious of your work out schedule, you are HARD CORE. Nice job. It seems you are very dedicated.

I have one question though I have been dying to ask (I was previously reading threads 1 &2 before being invited to team tushie LOL) WHAT is a fetish ball LOL, I just keep seeing it in your sig.

Hey there sexy VAL lol only one can dream of seeing 140 lol (that would be me dreaming ) anyway I think you look great now but its how you feel that counts! TY for dropping by,Tammy

:hurray: on the loss :D maybe lowering your calories was what you needed to do to get a bit of a kick :D awesome awesome.

i knew you'd have fun with the class on sunday :)
i love how you dedicated your time for yourself and for your friends.

Hey Val-

this is crazy, but I feel most comfortable asking you for your opinion on this :) It may have even been posted on before...hope you dont mind.
Do you think as women we really tend to gain weight during TOM? or at least want to eat more? This is crazy...but I'm my weakest during TOM and have a HARD time sticking w/ my "healthy" lifestyle.

Happy Tuesday!!!

Thank you, I am--exercise is my hobby, perhaps I'm an addict.....anyway I only work 45 hours a week and I have no children, so I use my spare time to exercise.

The San Francisco Fetish Ball is.....well, a ball where you dress up in your favorite fetish gear, but the typical garb is leather, latex and rubber.

Thanks to you too! :hug2: Congratulations (again)!

Aww thanks, Lena! Yes it helps to have free time on my hands. I am NOT ready to settle down, heh. I'm HOPING that by the time I meet baby's daddy and actually WANT to go down that road I'll have a hang of my body and my eating habits and exercise all together! IF that ever happens.

:hurray: Congrats on reaching the 130s!! Enjoy it!!

Oh thanks, it was a false low but it'll be back eventually--dammit I forgot to visit you! :banghead: :auto:

Most women typically gain 2-5 pounds right before and during their periods, and during the latter part of the luteal phase, not only does the body REQUIRE more calories, but hormones fluctuate and cause all sorts of things--I'm pretty sure the appetite hormones ghrelin and leptin fluctuate as to play a role in increased appetite, and the feel-good neurotransmitters like seratonin downslide, making us grumpy and needing consolation--also, cramps are painful and make women want something to make them feel good--ALSO, fat burning is more efficient in the luteal phase--read this:

What I noticed for me, is, the end of my luteal phase I can eat like an elephant, and then I gain the weight during my period, and when my appetite reduces and my hormones go back to "normal" or back from the weird dip in the luteal phase, my weight goes back to pre-period and all those extra calories? Where did they go? When I manage to DIET through that time period and up my exercise, I see amazing drops in weight. I don't think it's that drastic with every girl but I recommend using that part in your cycle to your advantage if possible. It's twice as hard to diet, then, though!

I'm busy today!

Weight: 141.5 lbs

State: SICK! Head fucked up, feel poisoned (by mold maybe) :ack2:

Mood: Good despite that state.

Eating: Excessive. I'm tired and had a second breakfast, then 8 peanut-chocolate-coated pretzels. I'm going to have either a 2100 cal day or make today my Cheat Day, I figure--because I'm NOT skipping any meals!

Body: Looking good, especially the abs since my period is JUST about over and belly bloat is about all gone.

ha, see there, I knew there was a reason I asked you ;)

Yuck for a head cold!! Sorry :(

:drool5: peanut butter, chocolate pretzels...really val....youre killing me!!!:svengo: lol

Thanks for the sympathy! :nopity: I really think I have been poisoned by mold. This does not feel like a normal cold--when I stand up I feel really weird and need to sit down! Bizarre thing is I'm very happy, mood-wise, heh! :D

Oh I know. I'm sorry I remember you gave up sweets for Lent Challenge!

Thanks J and M! :hug2: I know, I'm out of my skull lately. Dieting has turned me rabid, I think :drooling:

Today I had 2 breakfasts. I had a Kombucha and a "Perfect Foods Bar" that Trops would like--with peanut butter and honey, but it has ALL KINDS of vitamins and 9g of protein for only 172 calories--well, the Lite one anyway . I also had just a few terriyaki rice chips on the way out of my house, and at 10am I grabbed the Vegan Cutlets (delicious! You have to try them to know) with mango chutney, which is an actual meal and about 500 calories. I also had 8 peanut butter pretzels, and for lunch I had a vegetarian frozen burrito--but it was called "Guiltless" and despite its name, it was tasty with half a fresh avocado and some salsa (270 for the burrito, 140 for the avo, 30 for the salsa). My cough syrup is 25 cals per two tsps, so I'm up to 1500 calories right now. This is fine by me, I still can have a 600 calorie dinner, which I haven't been doing lately--I'm getting more used to eating less at night.

While I was maintaining my weight, I'd eat about 1500 calories before 5pm, then work out, then have an 800-1200 calorie dinner (including beer or wine) and sometimes dessert, ruining any deficits for the day. It was bloody difficult getting into the habit of eating a very small dinner (for me, a small dinner is 400-600 calories) but I managed it and that's pretty much how I'm losing weight. When I manage 1800 cal days, I try to stick around 1100 before 5, get 100-200 calories or so in between workouts, and eat the rest after Yoga is out at about 9pm (during the week anyway). So, I'm living proof that one can lose weight and still eat late at night as long as the total calories for the day make deficits.

Time of day isn't that important as long as I don't go TOO long without eating--from about 5-9 I don't get a chance to eat save for a 70 calorie Kombucha, usually, or a small snack. This week since my weight dropped, it makes sense to aim for about 100 calories less a day than last week but I'm not sure if I can manage that. Looks like last week's average was 1954 calories. If I shoot for 1850 every day maybe I'll drop more, but due to the drastic drop of this week I'll probably have to eat around that much just to maintain low low 140s. Who knows! We'll see.

UGH.

Dieting sucks.
