Countdown to Competition

They are telling people to wear masks if they have the virus so they don’t spread it around …its getting bad.

I have been busy, I am almost recovered from the flu and laryngitis, with only 1 and a bit week left before my comp i have been getting back into training.

Next week i hope to start doing Muay Thai to improve my fitness levels.

Glad to see you almost recovered!! Hopefully this won't have any effect on your competition efforts.
Can't wait to hear about it.
keep up the good work

I have been super busy this week, the kids have had the flu and i am still not 100% so my lifting is down a little. I am still going to compete this saturday, weigh in is at 8:30 and lifting starts at 10 am at the Queensland University Gym in St Lucia.

I have my train ticket and accommodation booked and will do the best i can given that i still have the lingering effects of the flu.

You are going to win this weekend!!! You can do it!! Take lots of Vitamin C to build up your immunity. Let us know how it goes. YOu've worked so hard! You're amazing.

And the results were ......

Weigh in 89.8 kg (i now know my home scales are 3 kg lower)

Squat.

1st attempt 1 white 2 red, failed lift at 90 kg (198.4 lb)(not enough depth)
2nd attempt same weight 3 white good lift
3rd attempt 100 kg (220.4 lb) 1 white 2 red, failed lift (not enough depth)

what i learned, depite the lifts being easy weights for me i have got to concentrate on going lower in the squat, i am close but need to be lower

Bench Press

1st attempt 50 kg (110 lb) good lift (waiting for the judge to say press at the bottom of the lift was much different to training)
2nd attempt 57.5 (126.7 lb) kg fail (3 red) didn't get my breathing correct failed halfway up
3rd attempt same weight good lift, much better technique lift was explosive out of the bottom of the lift i now kow i can go a lot higher on my bench press.

Deadlift

1st attemp 90 kg (198.4 lb) good lift
2nd attempt 100 kg (220.4 lb) good lift
3rd attempt 120 kg (264.5 lb) good lift

i was a little catious with selecting weights for this lift but using chalk instead of rosin my hands felt good. still need to use my small bag of rosin for training because chalk makes a big mess

I can make big gains here

I done well, could have done better if laryngitis and flu had not interupted my training for the last 3 weeks.

Result

in the female 90 kg open class : GOLD
In overall female lifter : BEST FEMALE LIFTER

:jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:

Next competion Townsville

will post photo's on monday when the kids are at school.

in the female 90 kg open class : GOLD

I did predict this :). If only I could get a bookie to take bets on Australian Amateur Women's Power Lifting I'd be all set. Congrats!! Despite all that time you missed that's excellent.

I have started training again for the next comp which looks like it will be Sydney in November as the Townsville comp has been cancelled and Tasmania and South Australia are a bit to far to travel.
