Rise & Shine Saturdays!!! Yeaaa Yeaaa!!!! It's DAY 13 of CLEAN EATING CHALLENGE in my Free Secret Facebook "Beachbody" accountability support group that I run (you are all welcome to join me btw-just ask!) !!! Woooop Woooop! I'm feeling GREAT about myself, about life, and about YOU GUYS! I see that you are all doing your best to overcome those obstacles that will always be there. The key for a lot of you that has worked, is finding ALTERNATIVES. Reseach before you go out, and find out what you are putting in your body. GETTTTT IT!!!!

Also, this morning, I realized that there is a LIFE up & early in the mornings that the world isn't aware of. Actually only a 'select' few are! Those that are "successful" do the things that the unsuccessful do, and what is one of those things that they do that you might not? .....GET UP EARLY!!!! That's right.

We all have a choice. We set our alarm clocks. We push snooze. We allow ourselves to sleep that extra hour instead of get up and workout, get up and meditate, get up & start LIVING! There is a slight edge that we have the opportunity of gaining here, and really,...."HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT~!?" ...

That's it. Ask yourself and COMMAND to yourself daily. YOU ARE IN CONTROL! GET UP & LIVE LIFE!!! I went to the Santa Monica Beachside stairs this morning & woke up at 5:45 am and was there by 6:30 am with Cristina and it was AMAZING!! We did a nice 1 hr killer leg, ab, and arm, circuit workout that I put together! I'm becoming a little trainer here with all these workouts daily. We walked 4.5 miles & did a flight of 200 stairs up and down, and ate a RAW SHAKE! Yum! .... The point,....LIFE IS WAITING! Start now! Early! ? Alta ............. How are you guys? Struggles? Success? Eating? Exercise? :) ? you all!

The learning never stops coming...

I think back to the time where my Aha Moment happened, and I have to say, it came in April of this year again. My AHA moment had to do with frustration, sabotage, not being real with myself, and DRINKING ALCOHOL.

For those of you that know me, you've known that I've struggled with weight my entire life. For those of you that know me, you've seen me cry over and over, yet pick myself up ONE more time than I fall down. In every area of my life, I am a go getter. I am a person who revolutionized my thinking, and in turn my actions, and my life.

Is it easy? HELL NO!!! Can it be done? YES IT CAN!!!

I realized, after 4 months of working out consistently for 2 1/2 to 3 hours daily, that something had to change. My eating was great Monday through Friday, and then the weekend would come and sabotage would come in. Sabotage from myself & from others, which I would allow. It was until one day, I heard from two close mentors in my life, my younger brother (a Junior Olypic Runner) and my Beachbody coach, that "Alta, alcohol will rob you of all of your efforts."

Finally, it clicked. Has that ever happened to you, when someone you admire tells you something and after years of KNOWING this, it finally clicks. Well, that's what happened to me. I kept gaining the same pounds over and over. I realize now, that I wasn't happy in my physical health & I couldn't change it, because I loved wine. How could it be that I loved wine so much, that I allowed it to rob me of my results? My happiness? My freedom from this burden of weight? The sabotage that wine would lead to with food afterwards?

I think often times, it boils down to self value & self worth. Do we really believe that we are worth the change? Do we really believe that we deserve the change? Do we really believe that it can happen for us?

And why or why not?

Those aren't easy questions. It takes a lot of introspection to get there. Often times, like Jim Rohn says, people will spend more time thinking about & planning their vacations than they will their lives. I can say, I've fallen victim to that before. Those questions cause pain & AWAKENING.

Partying is fun, yes, it is. Enjoying, we think, revolves in doing the same things that we had been, with the same people, leading to the same results. But honestly, that's robbing you of your dreams. That's robbing you of who you can be. We all have struggles. They are always evolving, especially if we are challenging ourselves to grow. Yet, what is important, is what you do with those struggles. Do you choose to overcome them? Or do you choose to say, "who cares", "I can't", "Oh well", "eh, tomorrow"?

I woke up that day. I decided I was worth it. I was worth putting an end to the one thing I always made excuses to allow in my life. It was that day, that I was Reborn. We all have awakening moments, but it's what we do with those moments, that shape our lives.

I know that everyone can achieve their goals!! I KNOWWWWWWW!!! I've done it time and time again.

I've changed careers. I've changed my relationship. I've ran a marathon. I've made myself a motivational speaker. I'm a teacher. I am a Hypnotherapist now. I've overcome cervial cancer cells. I have independence. I am a non drinker. I am aware. I am ALIVE.

It's funny, that you don't realize you are dead, until you AWAKEN enough to live. I have clients that come in for Hypnosis sessions, and whom I see their potential yet they don't. They FEAR. Let me tell you, FEAR is a False Evidence Appearing Reality. The more you step into the face of that fear & defeat it, you see so for yourself. Change isn't easy, but it's worth it. We are worth it!

I know this now. I empower others with this now. I am constantly evolving & I give joy to the knowingness that ANYONE can do this. Why? Beacuse it's in our Divine Awakening of Greatness within us all...

It's been over 120 something days that I decide that NO MORE. Not me. I deserve every awakening moment. I now move only forward. I've hit an all time low in my weight that I haven't seen in over 7 years 147.2 lbs, yet an all time HIGH in my life! It's a time of greatness.Today, 50 people showed up to my self hypnosis class, they all gave me amazing reviews, some even cried. I feel their pain, and I feel their awakening. I know they can do it! But it has to start NOW. Tomorrow is today. Today is tomorrow. Life is ours to make the most of. I challenge you all to not allow life to be "complacent". Don't allow yourself to go so far into your life, that you look back and think "what if I would have done that?". Go after your dreams! You can make it happen! I do & so should you!!!!!! I'm so grateful that words can not explain. My tears of joy & pain melt together because I know, what it's like to be in the tunnel and see no light. And now I know what it's like to BE THE LIGHT, and make my own tunnel.

My new Video Blog post. <3 Sorry, I was emotional. :blush5:

Good Afternoon my loves!!!! Today is day 4 of Clean Eating challenge!!!! I'm excited!!!! The reason I restart the counts of clean eating is because for the mind to grasp day 4 versus day 24, it allows it to recapture STRENGTH & RESOLVE. It's easier for the mind to wrap itself around new beginnings than to pursue a road that has been filled with obstacles and or cravings. Thus, I restart the count. I do this with pushups. With pullups, with situps, with miles running. With everything. It really helps take to the long run. To finish the road. I remember that at mile 20 running my first time, that I had to definitely restart to mile 1. It's the only way I would have ever made it. I suggest you all try the same.

Also, I wanted to make us all aware that we have the capabilities of EATING with MINDFULNESS. What does that mean? Appreciating what is in front of you, in your mouth, on your plate with slow calculated bites. 23 at least. Savoring each bite. Putting down your fork in between bites so that you can realize that food is a fuel and it's a GIFT TO HAVE.

It is a privelage. We must treat it as so by giving ourselves that time to bite, savor, enjoy, and chew. Our mouth and our teeth is Nature's blender, and we have them for a reason. So let's use them for what it's meant. Not to meantion, that taking it back to cave men days, catching a wild animal or picking berries and having them to eat that night, was a GIFT, a pleasure, a luxary. Just because we can "drive through" now, doesn't mean that we should treat food as any less of a gift. So do yourself a favor, and CHEW 23 times. Put your fork down in between bites, and breath, savor and appreciate that the food isn't running away from the plate. More will be there later. Enjoy! Love you guys! ? Alta

Question: Did you ever hit a plateu?? Where you just did everything you were supposed to and the scale wouldn't budge????
Yes! I did... for a long time. It was years ago though, I got stuck at 147lbs (much flabbier version of me now though-didn't do hiit), and for 2 years, I was stuck! I eventually gave up, and went back to my old habits because of it..

I realize now, that I didn't shock my workouts, and that I wasn't changing variety in my foods. That's why I was stuck. I'm much wiser now, and it helps! hahah. Live and learn!

The health benefits of Beets & Grapefruits <3

......................2 things that I am really big on:......................
1) The power of healing foods & 2) The ability to heal from the mind to the body!

So, what does that mean?

Well, it means, that for one, we must educate ourselves on the healing properties that food has. What benefits can you reap from eating certain foods, and or juicing them?

Knowledge is power! The more you know, the more inclined you are to continue an action and or eat a certain fruit or vegetable. At least, I know I am! It helps me to know that what I am putting in my body is for a reason & that it's aiding in something. But what is that something?

Today, that something is BEETS & GRAPEFRUITS!!!

Now, these two items might not be at the top of your grocery list, but maybe they should be! Not only do these babies taste delicious when you juice them, but their healing properties can not be ingnored.

Beets:

Colon Cancer: For me, colon cancer runs in my family, so, its important to me that beets are a high-fiber food that increases the production of special immune cells that destroy cancer cells in the colon.

Cholesterol: Beets help keep any bad cholesterol at bay, and simultaneously lowers high cholesterol by upwards even to 30%. That's a lot!

Anti Inflamatory: Since I am a runner, a walker, an average person that uses her legs, it definitely re assures me that beets are the way to go with joint support as well. Beets contain a compound that is called "betaine" that lowers the inflamation in joints, bones, blood vessels, and throat. That means a lot, if you are sufferfing from osteoperosis and or asthma, or if you just plan to get old one day.

Anti Oxidants: Beets also provide the body, specifically the liver, to produce natural antioxidants. What these antioxidants to is help to halt the spred of free radicals in our system, which degenerate in our body, by stealing the missing electron from it's next door neighbor cells. This creates an imbalance and is the beginning process of degenerating health. Beets help oxidate the damage that is caused by these free radicals in our system, and trust me, we can all use the help!

Tissue Growth: Beets are also high in tissue growth. Children and pregranat women as well benefit highly since they are in the creation of growing the baby, and the child is still growing their bones. It's very high in folate, a type of B vitamin.

Now, moving onto my dear friends, Grapefruits:

Acidity: Grapefruits have the ablity to create an alkalining reaction after a digestive disruption and has the ability to have a profound effect on the treatment of acidity in the digestive system which leads to other problems if not taken care of.

Atherosclerosis: Have you noticed how small arteries are? Ever imagined how clogging them has an effect on the walls of the arteries? Well, this grapefruit has 'pectin', which is high in Vitamin C & has the ability to reduce the accumulation of the deposits in the arteries, thus in turn, aiding in strengthening & maintaining the elasticity of your arteries. I know, I want that!

Breast Cancer: Breast cancer and high estrogen go hand in hand with excess. Grapefruits, have what are known as 'bioflavanoids' which halt cancer cells from spreading in breast cancer patients, because these components of the grapefruit, aide in removing the excess estrogen, and often times even halt the cells completely from spreading. That's something I always want to avoid! And men with moobs, this is something you really want to pay attention to as well. Also helps with stomach, and pancreatic cancer.

Common cold, fatigue, fever: When you are overworked, stressed, long day at work, your body has a tendency to feel fatigue. Fatigue is often times related with a common cold, flu, and fever. Just drinking grapefruit natural juice will give you a zing of energy as well, and help you prevent the fatigue in turn the low immune system response.

Weight Loss: Now, who doesn't love salty foods or flavoring on your foods, right? Well, for a person trying to lose weight, this really doesn't go hand in hand. The overconsumption of salts will retain water & make it hard to lose weight. Grapefruits on the other hand, are nature's salt sponge! That's right, grapefruits, have a fat-burning enzyme that absorb the starches & sugars! So by all means, go ahead and have two fresh squeezes daily, and or fresh grapefruit.

Insomnia: Grapefruits also help to alleviate insomnia and promote sleep. It contains tryptophan which, when converted to seratonin in the body, induces sleep and prevents waking. So drink a cup or eat 1/2 grapefruit before sleep & rest more peacefully.

Now, if after all that you don't feel more inclined to include these in your shopping cart, then I don't know what will! An act of God! Knowledge is power! I wish this for you. Food is our healing source, so let's become aware that it's there to help us, not hold us back! Let's use it wisely. I personally love to juice & do these in combination quite often with other fruits & veggies! I suggest you do the same! :biggrinjester:

Appreciating Life is so important because everyone & everything eventually dies.

It's not you who is left behind when you go, though. It's the people that love you. It's the people that care for you. And sure, if you are cold hearted, who cares, right?

....But for the most part, we all do. We all care whether or not the people that have spent years wrapping their lives around us, are going to suffer when we are gone.

Tonight, I had a special night, because it was two back to back Hypnotherapy clients that came in mourning a loved ones death. I believe in signs in life. I believe in awakenings in life. I believe in making come backs in life. But I also believe that life can slip by you if you let it. I also believe that our body is our temple. How many times do we find ourselves excusing our behaviors that just aren't supportive of "health" in our lives. I mean, forget looking good, or fitting into those jeans, or catching that hot person in your life, or any of that. I mean, how is our decisions today, going to affect us tomorrow?

A year from now, 10 years from now? 30 years from now? ..... well, it does. It all does.

I have been grateful to have not ever really lost someone that profound to me in my life, YET. Though I am wise enough to know, that one day, it too will happen to me. I look around at my grandparents whom I love very much, and I realize that "age gets the best of us". Age is inevitable. We all grow old. We all run into deterioration of our bones, our mind, our abilities. And the question here is, do you want to be a burden? Do you want to leave behind those kids that have wrapped their lives around you loving you? That partner that shared his or her every waking day with you?

We have to realize that we have choices. Everyday, we have choices. Everyday by making unhealthy choices in our life, including laziness, we are saying, that we don't care what we do to the people that are left behind when we pass. Not everyone dies from health complications, but a large majority of people do. Tonight, one of my clients was able to attain a level of peace in his heart, because it was his grandma's loving wish to see him get healthier and enjoy his life to the fullest. I'm not talking about filling up his jean size either, and believe it or not, he did both! Fill the jean size, and unfill the jean size. He had started this path months ago, and was able to show his results to his grandmother even before knowing what was to come. Was that the sole cause for his change? No. Is there ever any one sole cause for any change in our life? No. It's an accumulation of impactful moments and or people.

All I know is, that we have a choice. We can choose to be able to live our life for a long time. We can choose to care for those around us, by taking care of ourselves. I want to be around for my family. I want to be around for the family that my family starts. I want to be a in a body that will allow me mobility when I'm older. To be able to use the body that I dream of at retirement. There is no tomorrow, because TODAY IS TOMORROW. All those excuses piled up have led to years. Years of sabotaging our health, our dreams, our everything.

I can't even begin to tell you, the lump I have in my throat right now. I have tears rolling down my cheeks right now. I know that my choices right now are to help the "vehicle" I call my body. To be able to be self sufficient and to never burder my partner. I never want to be burdened like that either. That means that I have to care for me, and to make the best food choices, the best thought choices, the best exercise choices, and the best friend choices. We are who we surround ourselves around. We are the average of the 5 people we hang out with. Honestly, my best friends are in books. My best mentors I have sought out. My partner is in my life because we are supportive of each other. The day that I no longer feel this way, is the day things will change, or when life bestows a change upon me. Hopefully, with all my actions placed in the line of appreciation, this will not be because of death. My vehicle is the only one I can steer, I used to think. But really, no. That's not true. If you change yourself, the people around you too will change. You have the power to change the world! You have the power to impact everyone you love & everyone you encounter. We must lead by example though. It's that time. The time is right now! Not everyday will be a great one, not every day you will have your WHY's on your mind, but everyday that you forget, is one day closer that we are indirectly telling the people in our lives, "Hey, it's ok. I'm not going to be here for you, because I CHOSE to not be here for you."

...Personally, every time I find myself wanting to sabotage myself, I am going to picture myself telling that to my little 6 yr old brother, Roman. And you bet your ass, I'm going to get up & change that IMMEDIATELY! I know better. As do you. So pay it forward, and start with yourself. Lead by example. If you need support, REACH OUT TO ME, I can be there for you. I'm not joking. I was placed on this planet for something, and it's to light HOPE! .............Make a change........... I know you can. <3 Alta
