Colon Cleansing

ah... okay. thanks MissJellyBelly.

I don't currently suffer from constipation or anything. I'm quite regular. But after looking at those pics and reading the testimonies... i'm beginning to wonder if THAT is in me NOW. and what if there ARE parasites like those other people on the website. *gulp* so maybe a colon cleanse would be a good idea then... O__O!!

A little cleansing can't hurt any. You don't have to be constipated to have colon mucous buildup though. If you've ever eaten meat or other foods like dairy products, you could have some buildup in there. It's hard to say. If you eat lots of fiber, you may not have an issue. The recommendation is 20-30 grams a day. (The average person gets 15grams a day)

Parasites... yes. I took the Paranil that comes with the package. With all the "alien" stuff that came out of me, I'm sure there were parasites in it. But most are microscopic, and the last thing I'm going to do is sift though it and put it under a microscope : ) Maybe on my next round.

To give my 2 cents:

1) The cleanse did not hurt. The plan included drinking tea with senna in it, which made me a tad crampy in the morning, but once I unloaded I was fine. That's what senna is supposed to do.

2) 26 of the 30 days had me unloading about 3-5 times per day, most consisting of some pretty darn interesting materials.

3) It was easy, went by quick, and wasn't a hassle. AND I felt 110% better than before I had taken it.

It's good to colon cleanse once to twice per year. Me personally, I'm going with the once per year. The frequency is totally dependent upon your eating habits. I eat a ton of meat (ya, ya, bad for me) so the build up would be worse that say a person who eats little to none. But it's good for everyone just to flush it out.

Another thing to remember is once you've cleansed, take some Acidophilus to add the cruicial enzymes back into your intestines. Not necessary, but a good step to take to make sure it gets back into shape.

It's worth the $70+ dollars for the package. I can't, through words, tell you how much better I feel.

With a 3 days-per-week weight training plan, 5 days-per-week (30 min per day) Tae Bo cardio routine, and eating better I've lost 15 pounds of fat weight and have added 5-10 of muscle weight... in roughly 4-5 weeks. So the cleanse not only cleaned me out, it gave me energy and motivation to go beyond it.

Sorry for rambling with my Forum Infomercial... order now! :)

When one "cleanses" the "toxins" from one's body, what precisely are these toxins? It all seems a little vague to me.

Well... everything u eat seems to have toxins. Fresh vegies and fruits are sprayed with pestisides... most fish has alot of Mercery in it... in breads and almost everything there are perservatives added to make things stay fresher longer. A build up of all this stuff can be toxic to the bodies.. and so cleansing them out once in a while is good.

I have heard that the body does store some of these materials in fat and/or other places. It would seem to me that the body would naturally get rid of what it can but as for the substances that the body keeps, is there really anyway to get rid of that stuff?

its like cleaning your coffee maker... letting it run through with vinigar and water. The body cant clean out all the stuff that comes into it. Yes, water helps flush it out... but sometimes (like with your coffee maker) it needs a little extra to get it cleaned out.

those nights when i can't sleep - i'll sit thru infomercials hoping to be bored to sleep... there's on pretty disgusting one that goes on about the benefits of "internal cleansing" and goes into rather graphic detail that if your stools look a certain way... then you really should do the cleaning...

I've read another new agey type book that extolls the benefits of colonics for cleaning out your intestines... the book actually makes the statement, i haven't scientific study to back it up though, that a person can carry around 10 - 50 pounds in gunk in their intestines that just hasn't been cleaned out... a colonic or other "cleaning method" gets rid of it... the book even discusses "flavored" colonics for different purposes...

Personally the idea of that just makes me go - -ewwww.. I'll eat more fiber and do it naturally...

if you've got a strong stomach (because some pictures can be pretty gross) so a search on "mucoid plaque" I'd love some real medical professional to tell me that this is actual real stuff and not the imagination of some witch doctor type...

The stuff that builds up in the colon sounds pretty gross...

Colon Cleanse

I have been looking at different colon cleanses at all of the stores and found one at Wal-Mart for only $8. I started looking into doing a cleanse after I seen some pictures of somethings that came out during one.

Has anyone tried this colon cleanse or any other kinds. Please give me advice before I buy it next week.

Umm... I still dunno what anyone sees in this... Of course things that come out would look gross, but do you actually look in the toilet to see what comes out of you everyday? Its the same isht. Eat fiber, that will clean you always, not some kind of miracle product.

Internal cleansing was sort of discussed here:
http://weight-loss.fitness.com/showthread.php?t=278

In the wee hours ofhte morning, there's this informercial that's on that discusses in graphic detail the wonders of colon cleansing and bowel movements and other pretty disgusting things.. .Mucoid plaque is one of thier hot topics... They make the claim that Elvis died with 60 pounds of plaque within his colon and someone else famous had about 50 pounds. Thats a lot of crap... :D

The guy selling his product goes on to say that the medical profession will admit that what he's selling is a lot of bunk... but others will extoll the benefits...

I have a book sitting on my shelf that I bought a few years ago, called Cleanse and Purify Thyself which extolls the benefits of Colonics for cleansing and gives several different recipes for different types of colonics for different purposes...

Personally, I'd say stay away from the artificial methods and stick with what nature gave us... Lots of water and a high fiber diet.. (however the amount of fiber in your diet should be gradually increased, otherwise you may experience bloating that's not fun... .I don't think an 8 dollar pill is going to do much for you...

OMG!!!!

I do a cleansing of the liver and colon every 3 months with natural products!!! Am guessing it must be a good way to get rid of toxins.

I am doing a colon and liver cleaning at the moment and it really has helped me with going on a regular basis. The reason why the cleansers are so important is because most people dont use the bathroom as they should so our bodies are just holding onto toxins. So in my case not going everyday was making me tired and giving me major stomach problems and the cleansers have really helped.

a lot of the 'cleaninsg' products claim that they cleanse the liver of toxins from every day life, breathing in carcinogins etc, plus the effects of drinking alcohol and eating fried foods, etc... the cleansing products are supposed to take care of all that...

There's an informerical that runs very early on monday morning, for a product called the almighty cleanse that gets pretty graphic- over the course of the informercial, the guy who "invented" the product basically says that the medical community says that cleansing is all bunk, but he's seen it work (and this is where we say Thank ya jaysus... :D )

I've heard all sorts of stories, and there are all sorts of gross pictures on the internet on mucoid plaque- stuff that gets stuck in the colon that cleansing gets rid of...

I've never seen actual medical proof that cleansing does any good - the guy from the almighty cleanse claims it will make you smarter, lose weight, improve your sex life, and probably make you rich too... :D

Colon cleanse VS. laxative

What is the difference? If laxatives are supposedly dangerous if taken too much, what do the colon cleanse systems do that is safe?
