I don't think that 1 calorie will make a difference. Cohen diet is not a calorie-based diet, as per the cohen website. Its the type of sweetner that is used that make the difference. I think if it is aspartame, it should be fine.

I don't think we should restrict on the fruits. As per Joysey's old posts, she found that if she restrict on the crackers, she lost more weight. Of coz, it may be different on different people so it is advisable that you do some experimenting on it. For me, when I restrict my intake of crackers, I do lost faster. But when I am on PMS or mense, I do take my crackers to balance my blood sugar.

I am still having sore throat and a little bit of cough. Took Medical leave from work yesterday and was resting the whole day in my sofa, watching TV and folding taoism ritual papers for my family. Weight loss was almost stalled for the past couple of days and probably due to me falling sick.

I found some fibre drinks FYBOGEL (sold in watson) and its sugar free, gluten free and fat free. does that means its carbohydrate free???? There is no nutritional value breakdown on the box. My mum drank this before and she told me its like physillium husks but with orange flavour and very "drinkable".

okay - i prolly shouldnt complain- and i know there is a reason why they tell us not to weigh all the time... i lost 8 kilos in the first week.. second week- nothing... has this happened to anyone else-- i have not deviated once!

WOW! 2 kilo loss this week - haven't had that for a while. 20 KILOS!! HAppy happy. I spent some money this week - clothes, bras and beautiful red shoes!!

baby81: different people lost their weight in different paces. I think someone told me before her weight loss only happen in the 3rd or 4th week of each mth. Whereas for me, it is not like that. Mine is more like every alternate day, a few hundred grams difference and then add up to like approx 1.5kg each week.

Dont choose the fruit flavour ones. Same goes to ENO.
As for the wind in the stomach (i had it on the 5th week), Peter said can drink ENO... but not the fruit ones.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!

I just have a quick question in relation to the food preparation.

I have just had my Inital Blood Test this morning (OUCH!) I find out my program early next week :)

Does it seem like a chore preparing all the food and how hard is it? If anyone has any insight on this please let me know as i need all the help i can get to get rid of these 30kg's that have been haunting me for years.

Oh and also, how do i get this ticker to work???? Im confussed..

hmm.. sprite zero... i also wan to noe where to get it! diet coke really gets bored after sometime... i guess the few of us here originated from the same forum? i find u and fornight's nick a bit familiar.. lol ... juz a question the amt of salt we take per day, does it affect the weight loss? does using low-sodim salt helps? cos i like my food tasty... bland food is totally no-no~ but heard that salt does make a difference.. can anione enlighten mi on this? :p
 
can anyone in singapore tell me what are the types of crackers we're allowed...brand name too please. So far I can only remember that i can have the Meiji plain crackers. But i've forgotten to bring my lot to work and the shops around here don't seems to carry that particular one.

And I am so hungry today!!
 
Bam: I found that cutting up all my veg into bite sizes and just storing them in the fridge helped to cut down food prep time. I used to take out the veg and cut it up before I cooked, which seemed to take forever. but after reasing Magiclea's post about cutting and putting everything into 1 bag, I tried it and it helped!.
You might want to cut up all your meat and label the bags and freeze them so there's less cutting later on.
Food prep takes me about 1/2 hour now. I cook 2 meals in that time.

Reload, the other brand is Hup Seng i think, the one with blue packaging. But remember, what you are allowed on Meijie is TWICE of what's allowed on Hup Seng, due to its size.

Go to click on the weight loss ticker fill out your start weight and goal weight choose the style you want and click next. You can look at it as a preview and when happy go down to the first box I think it has the initials bb on it and highlight it then press edit and cut the entire box.
then go back to our forum and on the top left hand side section you will see User CP click on it and then go to edit signature. Then put your cursor in the box and then go to edit and paste and hopefully it will happen. You can preview it or when you next post it will appear automatically. Good Luck. If it does not work I will try and explain in better.:)

You have to have the ticker factory window open and this forum's window open too.
go to tickerfactory.com and set up your ticker
once complete, copy the BB code.
1. open your User CP on this forum.
2. go to edit signature and paste the entire code there.
3. Then save!
4. you have to do this everytime you update your ticker.

please remember if you are not eating meiji, your cracker allowance for each serving is TWO instead of THREE!!!!

I am trying to use less salt or healthier table salt replacement as such sea salt or low sodium salt (mix of magnesium, potassium and low in sodium). the taste is less salty but its definitely healthier and relieves me of my tension headache. If you eat too much in salt, you might burden your kidneys which is already trying to do detox while the liver metabolize the fat.

If you don't isolate your liver to metabolize your fat, your weight loss will be slower than usual!!!!!

If you really can't take low salt, try adding balsamic vinegar to flavour your food. In the long run, it is still better to eat low in salt for health. dun forget that if you eat too salty, your body will retain water instead of flushing out the excess water!!!

Just talk to the consultant and she told me I can use Fybogel after I forwarded her all the information about Fybogel!!!!! YES!!!!

By the way, the reason why fruit flavour ENO is not acceptable because most of the fruit flavour ENO contain Fructose.

I only get 5 crackers a day and I thought I could have only 2 at a time?

I have a question: If I only eat one cracker does it mean I can have the other one 2.5hours later? does it count the same way whether i eat one or 2 at a time?:confused:
 
each serving is limited at 2 or 3 depending on your allowances in the food plan. 2 at a time is IF you are not eating meiji brand (according to MY food program).

For me, my allowance is 10 crackers a day (for meiji). Each time is limit up to 3 meiji crackers.

4wk weigh in!!!

WOW- I was so worried about today- minimal water each day! I have lost total of 8.12kg in 4wks. Coulda been more with water but im happy with it at the mo. I rang mum and told her and she said she will deff see a difference when i see her for 1st time in 3 and bit wks. I dont see her much cos of distance but im sure she will be suprised and pleased with the changes i have made. I am pretty excited about it. I actually ound myself stareing at my legs while i rested on the bed this arvo- sheeze, i am pleased with that bit!!

I missed breakie today and had a not-right piece of fish- prepacked frozen fish (sort im nort sure of) but i cant get want i need at mo and thats all i had in freezer. Thord out it was correct weight so thats something. I scraped off the seasoning stuff. It was pretty gross. Will stock up on meat and chicken tomorrow- thort i had some in the freezer but it wasnt appropriate-drumstickes! Can we use these? I can remove skin but then u have to contend with the bone- wld weigh heaps.

I had cup of dieters slimming tea (health food guy said it was the best for constipation and getting regular) and since then (tues night), i have had stomach cramps and aches with diorreahe (spelling??), I think this is why i havnt been drinking and eating all of food. HUrts to eat - 10-20 mins later its so bad was almost in tears. Bit better tonight. Wld it be the tea just cleaning out the system?? Is it worth keeping to perservere with it??

I hope all are doing ok- i got to get early night. Clean the house and stuff before my mum comes. I have alot to do! Washing and the rest of every day stuff. Aghhhh sleep- here i come.
 
Hi everyone,

I've been following the progress of you all over the last four or so weeks and finally decided to join in - hope you don't mind me crashing your group!! ;)

I'm another new stater to Cohen's - started on 11 July and lost five kilos to date. Had a few deviations with dinner parties and baby showers but doing ok so far.

It sounds like you guys are all doing fabulously - I hope I can be as successful.
