Hi guys, I am new to the Cohens thread but am hoping to get some support. I started the Cohens program October 2005 but fell off the wagon every other day - (good girl for one day and bad girl for two).
I have recently returned from a holiday in the US where I felt so uncomfortable because I have stacked on an additional 10 kgs!!! 2 hours into the plane trip I got my period which very graciously stayed with me for the entire 3 weeks of my trip and only went away 2 days after my return home!!! Anyway, other than iron deficiency which is being addressed and should be back on track shortly I have been given the all clear by the doctor so I am now very serious about doing something given that I have also stacked on 10kgs since last October!! All in all, I guess I am a bit of a mess in the weight department right now but nothing too bad that I know with the right support can't be fixed.
I too am a client of the Mitcham clinic and only got on to your thread yesterday when I kept calling the clinic and didn't even get a message - I checked on line and noticed that the Melbourne clinics aren't listed and that only Geelong and Mildura are the Victorian clinics open and then I found this thread. So I took the plunge to get back on track and seek the support that is so evident on your site - great work!!
So here are my questions: Does anyone know about getting back on the wagon after such a long time off? Do I need to sign up again? I would feel cheated if I did given that their clinics aren't around any longer. My sister has lost all her weight on Cohens and she is trying to help me but as it goes with sisters we fight more than anything because she is older she takes the higher ground and it gets up my nose!! Yes, I am being precious about it - it is hard taking orders from siblings - must be something in growing up in a passionate, overbearing family!!
So down to the detaisl: I am currently 99kgs and need to get down to 58kg - 61kg so have a long journey ahead of me. Being 48 years of age I am concerned about the effect this weight loss will have on my skin particularly around my stomach. Has anyone got any advice/experience on this? I realise losing the weight is the principle thing here however I am wondering how I handle the skin issue. I don't want this to be a deciding factor in how things go for me - I know it sounds negative however it is something very important to me.
Another point I would like to understand if anyone has any experience, I have a naturally very large bust (G cup) but unfortunately when I lose weight I will only get down to a DD Cup given my previous experience (I was a swimwear model 30 years ago and my bust has never dropped below DD Cup) and was thinking that maybe 58 - 61kg is too light given my bust size. I had asked my consultant but I don't think she really knew what to say about it other than lets get there and see - I don't want to look like a freak so am wondering if anyone has any experience with the bust. Having a large bust as an 18 year old was very different than having it as a 48 year old!!
I am very serious about starting this program and am getting everything together to start on the program this weekend when I am at home and able to concentrate on what I am doing.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
