Ticker Help

Hi Reb....

I had the same trouble with the "Ticker"!!!!

All you have to go is Click on"

1. Quick Links
2. Egit Signature
3. Copy the "bb code" from the "Tickerfactory.com website"
4. Paste in your signature
5. Save

Then, you should be good to go...:)

Let me know how it goes!!!!

dilfizzle, Good on you, you won't regret taking the food with you. Much easier than trying to get back on if you break. With the waiting 5 hours, I eat my breakfast and then 2.5 hours later I have a snack of 1 piece of fruit and 1 cracker, then 2.5 hours later I have my lunch, and then 2.5 hours later I have my 2nd piece of fruit and remaining 2 crackers ( I eat 2 crackers for breakfast) and then I have my dinner at least 2.5 hours later (usually longer for dinner). After dinner I have my 5 pieces of chewing gum and my sprite zero. Makes it feel like you are eating a reasonable amount and you know you don't have too long to wait to eat something else.

dilfizzle: Hi, I just sign on the program this morning!!! So you are going Yum Cha? Which country are you in now?? Is it singapore? If so, we can be buddies in this program!

rjm I too am a scale-junkie. I want to move my ticker as often as possible. Its good to see it moving down regularly.
dilfizzle I do similar to rjm, and space my crackers so I can have some for morning tea and afternoon tea. I try to save at least 1 fruit and a cracker for around 8.30pm 9.00pmish.

I am finding the last 2 times I've logged on, the dot next to my user-name on my screen is still grey, not green. Not sure what it looks like on your screens. I know there is an invisible mode in the cp under edit options, but the box is unticked. Not sure what the deal is.
Dont worry, just checked and its gone green now.
reb I know what you mean about wishing you could mix up meal lines. The combinations would be awesome. But with a bit of imagination it has been proven on this thread and the Cohens site that some pretty good recipes can be thought up

Good Idea....:L-Jay and rjm

I didn't think about spacing my meals like that! Ooooh, that is so helpful!!!!:)

Fortnight - Well done on signing up for the Program...Also, I am in Australia....

I am only having my dinner in 30 minutes and my family have aloready eaten!!!. In a way I am glad I get to eat on my own to avoid the temption....This is definately going to be a journey for me..

Does anyone do the Yoghhurt? I am a bit over it!

I love the cheese and crackers thing....BUT, the cheese hardly ever fits on the crackers very well. I love grilling it, to get that yummy melted flavour!

Take care girls....

Well done to everyone so far...

Keep up the strength and motivation...

You will all achieve fantastic results....Healthy eating to you all!

dilfizzle usually for lunch, I chop up some tomato, zucchini, mushroom and capsicum and stir-fry it. Then I put it on 1 or 2 crackers, and put the shredded mozarella on top and shove it under the griller, not overly imaginative, but it does me. I eat it with a knife and fork, takes longer and I dont burn my fingers.*
A lot of the time I end up eating at different times to the family. Its important not to eat while doing something else, so you can really enjoy the food you eat. (I often eat my lunch when I'm posting on here, and before I know it I've spilt 1/2 of it on my lap, *burnt my fingers on the plate, and wondered whether I even tasted it because I was so distracted - Thats why they say never eat in front of tv)
*but I do burn them other ways.

thanks for the help dilfizzle, but i am still having trouble sorry not real good at this:cool:
how do i change my weight each week ?
do i keep going back to quick links and editing signature?

ticker changing

reb when you change your ticker, you basically do the same as you've done to set it up. Go back to tickerfactory web site, when you click on the weight loss option of the 1st screen, it will automatically take you to your weight stats that you originally keyed in, so where it says current weight, just change that to whatever it is. Click on "next" your adjusted ticker will show up.
Then: left click over bb code
left click on Edit in tool bar
When it drops down, select copy
open weightloss forum website

log in
Click on User CP
Select "edit signature"
In the box where you edit it,
left click edit on tool bar,
then left click on copy
To check that it worked, just click on preview signature if its right, click on save signature

Sorry if I've made this too complicated, thats why I dont normally respond to peoples requests for help with tickers, because I make it all sound way too hard

Hi guys,
Congratulations to those of you that have had such a great week! You should be feeling very proud!
Carissa, how has your weekend been? I have had an awful weekend, as far as deviations go. In fact ever since I first deviated, I have been on and off the program. Today I made up two batches of soup and bought some yoghurt, I am definitely back on Cohens tomorrow, I am actually quite disappointed. I was feeling so in control of myself, which I think is why I thought I could deviate and just get back on board, but I now realise that I still have the same issues with food that I had prior to Cohens, I am going to need to stick to it 100% to make any real changes.

Anyway, back I am!

Please can someone tell me - Do the Metamucil capsules give you stomach aches and make you need to go to the loo urgently or do they just help you to go more comfortable/more often?

What I am taking does the former, so I don't take it very often.

Everyone, keep posting, I love reading everyone's messages.

Have a good week.

chiko

Hi All.

I read all your posts faithfully, but I am not that good at posting all the time. My weekend was really very very difficult. It was our 11 year anniversary yesterday, and although I did not deviate (except miss my last meal) I was really very very close to cheating big time! If I did not have my husband's support, I would have done things I know I would regret. Anyway, I think the big thing is that if our emotional tanks are filled, we can cope with the physical feeling of emptiness (hunger) much better. I truly believe that one should really try to sort out all the deep hurt that is causing this big hole inside us all. And this is normally very difficult to face. For me the road to healing was very very difficult, but worth it. And this is a final journey in conquering this huge mountain in my life. Yesterday was a great victory for me, although I truly felt very defeated most of the day. I am so thankfull for my husband.

I am still so fearfull of not making it to the top of this mountain. But like a friend of mine said, handle those last few kilos when you get there. I just have this issue that I will only be able to make it part way. And I will again settle for second best. This is a very scary challange for me.

A lesson I learnt about the five hours is to try not to make that your focus. It is so difficult and every second feels like a lifetime when you are focussed on the clock. If you are impatient, try to do something else for a little while. Something that will occupy your mind and the time will pass. When I get hungry and want to start obsessing about the time till my next meal, I read the posts for example.

A lot said, but I am so excited with all of you, and also have a lot of empathy.

All the best to all of you, and may you get healing and victory as you lose the kilos!

Ingrid

Hi again everyone,
Eendjie, well done. It doesn't matter if you nearly faltered, YOU DIDN"T. Be very proud of youself. It is harder to be wanting to cheat and resisit, than it is to just breeze through. Everyone wants to cheat at some time. The fact that you didn't is excellent!!
Chiko, good luck getting back on track. It is really hard if you deviate, isn't it, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
Fortnight, well done and good luck with the program. You won't regret it. Just remember that it the hardest for the first week or so, and then it gets easier as your body adjusts to the food.
Reb & L-jay, I am pretty useless with computers and it has taken me forever to work out the ticker thing, but now I love it.
Anyway, I've now made it through 2 days back on Cohens with no problems. A little hungry, but about 100 cups of sweet black tea seem to help with that, and I am so thrilled that I am already down 3.5kg. Now I remember why I love this program so much!!
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you soon

rjm isnt it fantastic to get such fast results. It's exactly whats needed to get the motivation going good and proper. The last time I did this, I decided not to weigh for a month. My hubby was weighing me but not telling me where I was at, and me being the kind of person I am, tried to figure out approximately how much I'd lost by any comments he made. As a result when I finally did weigh, I ended up blowing it. I'm not sure whether it was because I was a bit disappointed with my loss or it I was just complacent. So I weigh everyday and like seeing my ticker move.I think thats more inspiring for me.

Eendjie That was a great test, which you overcame. YOU DID IT!!!! Support is so important. I agree with you about the emotional stuff which needs sorting, and I think 90% of the female society in the western world is taught to revolve their good and bad times around food. I know eastern countries place importance on family meal times, but we go for comfort food, not the healthy variety. It can be difficult to identify what it is that creates the emotional need to deal with it. Sometimes just knowing makes all the difference doesnt it? Now, when you face other hard times, remember you made it through your anniversary, so its not worth having done that for it all to come to nothing. You will make this work for you, not against you.

chiko sounds like you are well prepared for today. Good for you. You will do it.

I had a good day yesterday. Down another kg today. Loving this.

how do i start???

Hi there,

I haven't got my cohens program yet but i was intending to try and lose a little weight this week before i start, however i'm in a bad state of mind:

Okay...i'm starting tomorrow so i'll eat everything today....tomorrow comes....i'll start tomorrow, eat everything again!!!

Does anyone else go through this? Any tips on overcoming this frame of mind?

Any advice will help. Thanks:eek:

Good Morning All

To those of you who are struggling or who have broken the program keep your chins up you have made a very brave decision to do this program. It is not easy it is a lot of hard work and I think we need to take more time to recognise and congratulate ourselves on what we are doing. So if you have fallen off the wagon dont worry there is no point in beating yourself up about it you can only go forward and take each day at a time. I told everyone I know that I am doing this diet and I have found that it is a great support. You are all wonderful strong women and I truly beleive that we can all do this together.

To those of you struggling with eating at other places or eating out I take my meals with me everywhere I go, I am constantly surrounded by people eating who are not doing the program and have to make my son and husbands meals everyday. And to be honest some days it is so hard not to just have a tiny little taste but I know that it will be the beginning of my down fall so I dont do it. I have broken this diet twice in the two months that I have been on it and both times I was guilty and dissapointed in myself it nearly undone me. 11.4 kilos later I am feeling strong and motivated and know that if I stick to this program 100% I will be there in no time at all. I dont think about the big loss that I want to have by the end becuase it seems so far away I just take every day as it comes and never get on the scales apart from my monthly weigh I dont want to psych myself out.

Chiko I had a great weekend did not break once, I seem to be obsessed with the idea of pizza at the moment but I keep thinking in my head get over it at the end of the day it is just a piece of greasy bread with meat on it how can you let something that minor affect you so much and it seems to be working. Thankyou for your kind words.

To all of you thankyou for being here for me and helping me along in this journey. You are all amazing, powerful, brave women and I could not imagine making this journey without you.

mumbine probably when you get your program you will feel more like starting it. If you have a supportive husband/friend, ask them to help you get going with it.
Another thing is the ticker. When you get that posted in your signature, you will look forward to seeing it go down. Post on here as often as you want, whenever you have to, to stay strong. It really helps knowing people will read your posts and reply with things which can make a difference.

Something which is a little unorthodox, but it has worked for me in the past (not that that was the reason I did it), but have a big pig out the night before you plan to start. Sure it will probably bump your weight up a bit, but that will be gone in the 1st day or 2, probably with a bit more as well.

Sometimes I've even got up in the wee hours of the morning and ate leftovers, and the next morning, the last thing you feel like is eating more of that stuff. It's like "I so want to clean my body out and feel good again"
I know it sounds weird, but I'm the kind of person who if I eat enough rubbish I hang out for water and healthy food.

Maybe even print out a ticker and stick it on your fridge. Stick a photo of you at your ideal weight on the fridge or somewhere you will see it. If that makes you feel uncomfortable cut out a picture of someone who has a nice figure.

Remind yourself, this will be a relatively short journey compared to other weightloss methods, and the best thing is you will see rapid progress.

Carissa its great that you are so motivated and positive. And I love the last quote in your signature. So true!!!

EVERY ONE ELSE hope you all had a positive day. Remember everyday counts when it comes to seeing the results down the track!!!

Hi Everyone

Chiko I use Meta caps and I have found that they don't give me tummy cramps or anything. I have to take them ofter - I already had the problem before cohens. But I only started taking them while on the program. The only thing is that you make sure you drink heaps of water with them or you will get the feeling of something stuck in your throat.

The kids are all home today - with a few extra. Today is a public holiday in WA. And to top it all off, its that time of the month. This is my first time while on cohen's. I feel like curling up infront of the tv with chocolate and more chocolate. But I have keep myself busy. I'm hoping to go to the gym again tomorrow so I hope I feel better.

In 3 weeks I am singing with a choir at the arts centre. I am hoping to get to or pass my next goal weight. We have to wear jeans and a black top, so I'm not buying mine until a couple of days before, for size sake.

Lizzi What did you do when you started to lose quite at lot of weight, did you buy new clothes or stay in your baggy ones?
All the best to everyone!
Mitmary :p

Well, I've done day one (again!) it's my time of the month too, so I've been quite cranky all day. I find i tvery easy to stick to the program when I am at work, I am a teacher, so I just eat when teh bell rings. For me the five hours is no issue, I have crackers and a piece of fruit at recess time, lunch at lunch, crackers after school and a cracker and piece of fruit between dinner and 9pm.

Mitmary, thanks for the info on the metacaps, I think I will try them.

Carissa, well done getting through the weekend, I think weekends are the hardest!

Mumbine, it sounds like you are on a merry-go-around very familiar to me. My advice is, wait for the program, then start it and stick to it, you will be amazed at how proud you will feel!

rjm, wow! 3.5 kg already that's terrific, that's enough to keep you motivated, isn't it?

Well guys, stay motivated, I'm going to make my baked apple to have for dessert. If you feel like something sweet, I highly recommend it!

take care,

chiko

Dilfizzle you will work it all out in time but may I add don't be shy to ask where ever you go for what you want to eat, say for example chinese I just tell them when ordering the veges I can have with what meat I am having prawns chicken etc and have it stirfried without oil they are usually only too happy to oblige, Ask for a doggy bag for the leftovers don't not go out that would be a shame, or ring ahead and find out if there is something you can have.

Had a bit of a hiccup with my diet yesterday my 9 year old daughter came home from a cooking lesson with a palm sized gingerbread heart she had cooked with I love you mum in currents so what could I do but eat it for her sorry but sometimes like this instance you have to break your diet just the look on her face when she gave it to me was enough to know I had to eat it. Oh well the smile on her face when I said how great it was worth breaking my diet this once.

Other then that I have been really good so I hope it won't set me back in weightloss. Still struggling with the water especially in this weather I HATE DRINKING SO MUCH. Thats my whinge for the day cheers Dianne

Hi again!
Thanks for all the messages of support.
Im glad to report that day one has gone by without a hitch!
