Love your post sunshine. I'm sure we will reach our goals. Good on you for your 100% stickability. That is the only way to go. You are doing so well. The other good thing about this program is the fact that exercise isnt neccessary, and muscle is still toned without it. Looking forward to hearing about your results on Sunday. And I love your visualisation with the money. The best way is just to not deviate at all. In the end it is the easiest way, because deviation sets up so many mental blocks. I've done it without deviation before, and knowing ones like you and lizzi are, gives me inspiration.

rmj I'm sure your body knows best about what it needs. If you feel you should go for refeed now, go for it!

Reload: Try eating papaya for your fruit allowance. It helps in the stool movement. My ticker moves a bit today again (after staying in the toilet for a long time - sorry for being gross!).

I want to set some kind of small target but is worried that it might make me too stressful. Maybe I should just set to get into the 60s by late July? That should be ok as long as I follow my program strictly.

I think as long as you stick to the program for at least 2 weeks, the eating just become more natural and less feeling of being deprived. So for those who are having troubles staying with the program and not cheat, HANG ON THERE!!!!

Not sure about anyone out there, I find that if I eat Yoghurt in the morning, I get hungry faster. Maybe because its sour in taste. I eat my breakie at 6am and my lunch is at 12 noon. Anyway, I tried to occupy my time in between with work and drinking more water. I still eat it anyway 'coz it's so convenient. Since I have past my first 10 days, I am minimizing my crackers intake as well.

I find myself looking forward for dinner 'coz there will be Delicious fresh Steamed Fish waiting for me on the table (compliments from my mum). I loves fish! She really takes good care of me and tries hard to change the varieties of fish so that I am not bored with them. Love her!!!

Hi there MOMIJI, hope i have posted reply correctly!!, this is new to me ha ha ha ha...... basically sureslim i have YOGHURT FRUIT for breakfast then 5 hours nothing... TUNA SALAD CRUSKITS for lunch then 5 hours nothing..... CHICKEN SALAD APPLE for dinner...then thats it.... 2 to 3 litres water per day. No sugar, no diet drinks and def no eating at all between meals, Sound similar??? just so nervous about parting with another $800 or so dollars and find it is very similar. I would appreciate any input. Thanks so much for all your replies, i was very surprised to get so many... Its great!!! thanks so much Ange:) :)

spangebabe I can understand the money problem. You must first ask yourself how much you are willing to discipline yourself in this diet. It require strict discipline as well as creativity in preparing your food (so that you are not bored!). Of cuz, my experience is family's support is very important too. Our programs are designed based on our blood test result so it is personalised based on our own body chemistry.

hi everyone!
well i signed up last night- planning to get first blood test tomorrow! was wondering if any one has had any experience or knows any one that has had PCOS poly cystic ovarium syndrome and whether the cohen's diet has helped?

Hi everyone,
spangebabe, it is similar to SS as the person who started SS previously did Cohens (so I heard, anyway). The main differences are that we can have our crackers ( 5 per day at 2.5 hour intervals) in between meals, and on Cohens you don't have to have all those revolting seeds and things. Each day I eat Breakfast: 1 egg, veges and 2 crackers. 2.5 hours later for morning tea I have an apple and another cracker. 2.5 hours later for lunch I usually have tuna or chicken ( but can also have meat or cheese if I like) with veges or salad. 2.5 hours later for afternoon tea I have another 2 crackers and another apple and finally for dinner I can have steak, chicken or fish with veges or salad. All meat and vege/salad amounts are as per your individual plan. After dinner I have my 5 pieces of sugar free chewing gum and 1 ltr of diet soft drink. I can also have 1 teaspoon of mayonaisse and any types of herbs or pure spices in my cooking and either apple cider or balsamic vinegar. Must have 2-3ltrs water a day and a good multi vitamin. Hope this helps you to assess the differences. I think Cohens is easier as you can eat in between the 5 hours, and you can have some diet soft drink which I usually sa ve for my end of the day "treat".
lizzi, have a great trip. I also don't like people coming in snooping around my house. Having the house spotless before going away is just an added pressure, isn't it.
*sunshine*, good luck for the weigh in. Sounds like your friends are terrific. I lost 2.5kg last time I did the re-feed and I was really surprised that I lost most of this weight towards the end of the re-feed when I was eating the largest amounts of food. I did decide to start the re-feed yesterday and I'm already down .5kg this morning. It might not last as the first few day it can go up and down a little bit, but hopefully I won't have any problems with it.
L-Jay, excellent that your scales are moving in the right direction again.
dilfizzle, congratulations with the wedding. I don't know much about dressmakers, but would definately advise you to not get the dress yet. You whole shape totally changes on this.
asyoz, the people who finish don't seem to post on here any more. I suppose they just want to get on with their lives, but it is usually a good sign, because if they hadn't kept the weight off, I would assume they would be back for support again (like me!!).
fornight, I used to set "mini goals". My first was under 110kg, then under 100kg etc. I would make it each 10kg's which doesn't seem too far away, and it's really exciting to move into the new "decade". You could make your next mini goal under 70kg which you will reach in no time at all keeping you motivated.
I started re-feed yesterday and it's going well. Not a lot of extra food yet, but today I get to swap 3 of my crackers for 1 piece of bread which I had for breakfast, very Yummy.Scales are still going in the right direction, and another .5 kg loss this morning. The weight can go up and down a little (by half a kilo) in the first few days of re-feed, but hoping it will stay down.
Anyway, have to go and do some house work.
Have a great day, everyone.
Talk to you all soon.

Baby81- i was diagnosed with this condition over 4 yrs ago ans i was only 20... the doctor sat me down after doing test after test and told me that i had this condition and that i should not expect to have children... my heart broke for years... i knew this condition had to do with my weight so i lost 12 kg's and things happened naturally still no children but i was on the right track. the diet i used was no carbs... once of i put all back on plus more... i gave up... starting cohens 7 weeks ago everything is running like clockwork again and in the next 12 months we will try again to have a family...

But yes this will work... this program was designed for people with fertility problems...

Payment options

It costs me nearly $1,000 in NZ to join Cohens and that is similar to what i paid out to sureslim, i have to get a loan for cohens,so financially it will be struggle.

Hi Ange

I myself have lost 15kg in a little under a month so am extremely happy with that. In regards to the financial outlay, I too found it a little prohibitive but Cohens do offer a payment plan and through that I only need to pay about $40 per fortnight. It comes directly out of my bank account, maybe that could be an option you could investigate.

I hope we get to see you on here in the near future telling us about your amazing results :)

Havent visit the loo for 3 days (include today). Trying not to rely on the tea... Lots of gas in my tummy, need to get everything out... arghh

Yesterday i did something bad...sigh (ate some sambal chili tapioca chips), really had to have it  can someone slap mi :(

Hey!

hi everyone.

Does any one track their measurements? I didn't until cohen's rang and he said that it is a better way to keep track of your weight loss. So I went to the gym (finally) and got my measurements that were taken when I started, and I was 3kg lighter than when I started cohens, I had a total loss of 65.5 cm from my whole body!!! It was so good. Now I'm going to do it every week.

Hope everyone stays strong. Just remember this is just for a time!

Have a great week:)

Tracking measurements and PCOS

Hi all - my weigh in is tomorrow - fingers crossed!

I track all my measurements weekly and I use a website that is great -http://www.extrapounds.com

It has weight logs, trackers, graphs for cm weight loss!! Its good.

I also have PCOS - I've been on the program for about 7-8 weeks now. The periods don't seem to have become regular yet, but I'm waiting to see. Hoping to see an improvement in mood, hair, skin etc. I figure I need to lose a little more than I have to start seeing improvements though. I must say, I'm not looking to get pregnant at this point though!! :p

Have a good evening everyone!

Reload72 *SLAP* Just joking! Dun keep thinking about falling off the wagon. Focus on future and be stricter to yourself. Think about the $$$$ you spent!!!!! and all the beautiful clothes you can wear when you lost the weight.

Hi there!

Just in response to some of the queries about stats about people keeping their weight off!

My consultant said that as long as people do their refeed properly, nearly all have maintained their weight. She said that 20% of her clients don't complete the program, and deviate majorly and they end up failing and regaining all their weight and more, but for the people who stick to it 100% and lose the weight, they don' t tend to put the weight back on.

Also, because you are given the tools to lose the weight again if you do put on a few kilos you can lose it quickly. The key is to act quickly.

I have found it really easy to lose the weight I put back on when on holidays, just by cutting out carbs for a few days. I can put on 3 kgs in a week but can lose it in a few days!

It is encouraging to know that I can go back on the program again as well if I need to.

It is interesting that there seems to be no detractors for Cohens or TLC program (I did the TLC program, very similar). Perhaps it is because it is not well publicised, or perhaps so many people have good results that there are no complaints. Not sure that there has been that much media coverage of it.

Or perhaps there is some stuff out there bagging it, we just have not found it yet!

All very interesting though!

I keep checking the posts because I think I am a bit addicted to it! And also I have found it a useful way to keep inspired to stay on the straight and narrow. Also interested to see how you guys are going, and see your progress.

Also, the Life After Cohens thread has died a bit of a death, noone is really posting on there.

And I just enjoy checking the posts and stuff.

Anyway, well done all of you, I know how hard all of this is. I have been through it all!

Stay strong!

Kathy

Hi there guys, thanks for the response, looks like i may join up, sounds like u actually eat more than on the sureslim program, and you are allowed Sprite Zero!!!, my favourite, love it!!, and u can have something between meals!!, that was a HUGE no no on my old program, which just did my head in!! sounds a million times better! and alot more doable!, im used to weighing food (eg chicken and vegies, yoghurt etc) and have become very organised in that department, I preweighed all my chicken to exactly 130g and vegies all in sep little containers for the week, so very organised, program sounds great!, wish id come across this before i gave my money to sureslim, oh well live and learn!, thanks again for the replies, helped alot with decision. regards Ange xo

Hi everyone. Just popping in to say my computer probs have been resolved and I am still on track with no deviations. I am getting to close to having less than 10kg to lose and thats quite a landmark, so am looking forward to that , perhaps by end of next week.
It seems everyone is doing well and I say to those who are wondering about the program. DO IT! You won't regret it.

Its sooooooooooo good to hear all the fantastic results everyone is having. I am starting next week. I have just over 40kg to loose and it scares the critters out me that its going to take me a long time to so this. But I am gunna give it a go. Cant wait until I can walk past a shop window without freaking out that I look like a swollen bush pig lol. I will put my weight tracker up as soon as i figure out how to do it, (Not working for me lol)

Anyway all the best everyone and here,s to the new us:) :) :) :) :D

Well, I'm starting next week too.

Blood test tomorrow. Should have the programme next tuesday. But I won't start till Wednesday as I have a function Tuesday night and I'll make it my last hurrah.

I have 85kg to lose, trust me, it seems daunting.

But then so is death. And that's where I'm headed if I don't take some of this pressure off my system.

That's the stark reality of it.

We'll do it together, eh?

asy :D

Hello!

Hi Everyone,

Just found this forum tonight, while doing a bit of research about Cohen's on the internet.
I started Cohen's earlier this month (3 weeks ago) at 118.5kg, and I'm down to 111.3kg as of today.

I received a letter in the mail yesterday advising me that the clinic that I signed up at is closing at the end of this month. I go to the Joondalup clinic in WA. Well, I'm shocked to say the least - I haven't even had my first weigh in!! I noticed some pages back in this thread that the same thing has happened in Melbourne. The stories seem very similar. What is going on?

The letter said that the Booragoon clinic will be looking after us from now on, but does that mean that we will receive the same treatment from them? ie weigh in's etc etc. I'm quite concerned that I've spent $680 on a one year contract and three weeks into it the clinic closes, I can't get my money back (I assume) and I'm told that another clinic (which obviously hasn't received money from me or anyone else previously at the Joondalup clinic) is now going to look after us????

I'm so glad I found you!

Hi all,
This is my first post on this forum, so let me just say first off that I'm sooooooo happy to have found this forum:D . I was really surprised that the Cohen's Web site didn't have a forum available for clients to gain info and support from other people on the program  . It seems an almost essential tool for anyone out there struggling with losing weight. The amount of support and encouragement that you all provide to each other is fantastic!
I started Cohen's in March this year and I am constantly amazed at how well it is working for me. So far I have lost almost 30kg! I find that the buzz I get from knowing that I'm on the way to a new me is enough for me to stick to the program 100%. I have not deviated once...however, I must admit that I have 'slipped-up' twice. In my first month I had an extra crispbread completely by accident one day and on another I was having fish for dinner and squeezed lemon juice on it - only to remember later that I had already had my 2 pieces of fruit for the day:rolleyes: . I now write down every single thing I eat or drink (excluding water) so that I don't make the same mistake again!
Anyway, essentially I just wanted to say hello to you all, introduce myself, and congratulate you all on your valiant efforts to become healthier people. Even to those of you who are thinking about starting the program, or are about to start...just having the thought there in your mind is a great first step! Keep it up!

P.S. I absolutely love these ticker thingos, but how do you get them to show up in your messages? I keep getting an upload error message :( .
